Spectacular Performance of Angels
David seemed to have some slight difficulties with this in the first few performances due to the multitasking. That’s all gone. This performance from the L.A. concert is unbelievable. It’s mind boggling to think of what’s to come if this is where he is now.
This kid continues to blow my mind. Strap in and enjoy.

WOW I agree that this is the best of Angels on Tour. I especially loved that high note just before the end.
I would like to also take this opportunity to THANK YOU for this wonderful website, I cried when you went off line for a while there… at least my link wasn’t working. You writing skills are absolutely captivating and I can feed my ODD (as Fanblast calls it) need to explore David and Blog -- only my second time -- in a site with such integrity.
Wow! Wow, wow, wow!
How does he do that? Better and better and better……
Exquisite!
I agree -- David’s voice rings out so pure and loud and clear. He’s amazing!
Rascal- you had mentioned wanting to see David at Carnegie Hall. After watching this performance, it occurred to me that the place I would most like to see him is the Santa Fe Opera. Have you ever had the pleasure of attending there? It is ina spectacular setting- perched on a hilltop out in the desert inbetween 2 mountain ranges. The structure is open- in fact, until recently it had only a partial roof. You can sit there and watch the sun setting, lightning storms in the distance, and the acoustics are just incredible! They erected a hanging roof, but there are minimal wall structures, so you still have beautiful views, and a magical night sky. I would so love to see him in an intimate setting!
I have always maintained that for me, the best way to die would be getting struck by lightning at the Santa Fe Opera! Now that there is a roof, I will have be happy to be stricken by David’s performance if I ever get a chance to see him there!
Thanks for posting the video- it really made my day!
speechless.
That was an *amazing* performance! Simply awe-inspiring.
The progression he has made from Glendale to Las Vegas (7 days) is absolutely astounding--7 days. I want this performance on MP3 to play over and over. Simply unbelievable. I believe I have to go to Tulsa now to see his last performance on the tour.
Everyone should really try to go to the tour imo. I am no fan of screaming teen girls either, but that’s not stopping me. I really doubt any of these videos even begin to approach what hearing him live is like.
Incredibe. Pure bliss. I think I am going to fight off the screaming hordes as well. I don’t think this opportunity should be missed.
I tdid go to Glendale to hear him live at his first concert. Had to here that first concert. But now have to go to another. The LA songs by David were all astounding. He was having a fabulous time with SBM. It just gets betta and betta.
I feel blessed to have been at thi s LA apperance. To hear him live is a whole different experience. I’m still on cloud 9 from this performance and to meet with David last night. Thank you David for your complete gift you are sharing with all of us!
He continue to amaze and surprise us. We are blessed to be on his path. We are on a long journey Angels, brace yourself. I love Rascal advise…”strap in and enJOY!” Gosh, I am so strapped and thrilled with the ride.
I deeply love him…
Thanks Rascal. O’-)
He is indeed a quick study! I think he even added more Archuleta soul to it this time! An amazing progression in such a short amount of time! Crazy, crazy hot vocals! He is a sheer delight! Thanks!
From David’s first performance I was completely captivated by his heavenly vocals. Then his beautiful character kicked in and the package was complete. That he is able to build on it to a crescendo in this performance is pure magic!
Chills … and from a grainy video, astounding.
I read somewhere that he was nervous about the L.A. show — guess he poured all that nervous energy into being brilliant. Wow.
Listened to this about 10 times today and will go to sleep with that incandescent high note in my head! Kept saying “Wow!” over and over to my computer screen. Forwarded the link with tears in my eyes to everyone I could.
Wow! I know we all keep saying that, but, WOW! WOW! WOW! He “dang” well just makes me feel good! Love “strap in and enjoy” so true! Over and over again! Thank-you for being here. I so appreciate your “Right-on” feelings of David! FANTABULOUS! I will be a impatiently waiting for his concert in Grand Rapids Mi,! (not until September, argh!)
It is indeed beautiful and stunning. Each time David seems able to out-do and eclipse his previous performances which were already fantastic by any standards. I am getting very nervous in anticipation of the forthcoming ones, this is only the 5th or 6th(?) of his concerts.
I would like to have this performance on my MP3 but for the loud background screaming. Anyway, I can’t blame the screaming crowd, with this performance, I would have screaming my lungs out for him there, with total disregard to everything. I am screaming now watching him performs, and I am thousands of miles away.
Thank you, Rascal, for this video.
Hello all~
I hope you don’t mind me posting this here, but if you agree that David’s tour suit is not the right fit for him, please take a minute to sign the attached petition. It will be submitted to 19 tomorrow, and every last minute vote helps. Let’s hope David finally gets to retire this suit and continue the tour in something that he is more at ease wearing and that projects a more accurate image of his personality. Thank you!

This site like several fansites is on my daily reading list.
This is what living the good life is about. Rascal your writing is beautiful I really enjoy reading and agreeing 100 percent with what you write.
I am proud to be a 52 year old “Fan-Girl” as you put it.
Thanks
Dorothy
I never get tired of hearing him sing “Angels”!
Okay, guys, this is my absolute favorite video for WYSYLM -- the closeups (though shakey vid) and rather good sound quality, he flashed a smile before singing the last line (gosh!) and the now signature “hand over heart” sign at the end -- what can I say -- he’s perfection (and I’m not even a JG fan!). Thanks to Sam for posting it.

To #19, angelfire, I have signed with comments, thank you. It is really high time they replaced and retired this attire. It is not flattering on David -- a handsome, dynamic young man with immense talents and captivating personaliy.
#21, kccy, thanks for the link. I have just gone in and watched it. Wow, the performance really melt hearts. How can anyone not getting emotional at the live concerts. Now I have doubt on my self-control, if I were there I would probably become hysterical too, but of course, will scream only after he finishes his songs. And I am a mother of three grown up children!
Woh. That was SOMETHING ELSE. I was actually regretting that David wasn’t doing his old original version of “Angels” that he did when he was 15 at EFY (church activity for youth, white shirt and tie). I just love that simple and beautiful version with the way he belts out the chorus and the riffs he adds here and there at the end. It was my favorite. Now, I have to reevaluate because this one blew me out of my chair. The emotion was overpowering, the vocals were mind boggling. I may just have to change my preference to this one. Gotta revisit both sites and contemplate. Here’s the link to the old one if you haven’t seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo4ZkBTSKTE
I actually think that the reason the LA performance was out of this world was because--as David said in that recorded interview--he was really kind of nervous about this concert. So, what does he do in response? He throws EVERYTHING he’s got out on the floor. When he does that, it’s a hurricane comin’ through. A force of nature. He is just UNREAL.
I’m driving to Tacoma (300 miles one way) to see him perform this weekend (be still my heart!), but you know what has occurred to me? David is gonna REALLY be PUMPED for his performances in Salt Lake. Can you IMAGINE what they’re gonna get when he steps out on that stage?! Makes me think I ought to check and see if there are any seats left for that second show. Could be some memories of a lifetime in the making at that event, folks.
No way I could get a decent price on an airline ticket at this late date and the thought of driving 730 miles one way to SLC right after I get back from the 600 mile round trip to the coast makes me too tired to contemplate. Hard to believe I would even entertain the thought. The last concert I went to (besides the symphony) was Edgar Winter in the 1980s! Way back when.
David has been a revolution in my life. He’s a house afire, and I’m being consumed! I bet you can relate! That’s why I feel so comfortable here. You understand me. Haha
It should read “here and there AND at the end” in the first paragraph. Sorry about that. I got ahead of myself, failed to proofread carefully. What else is new?!
Just walked in from San Jose.
The first 8 are more or less an extended warm up act for the final two. There were good performances here and there. Brooke’s “Let it Be” was her best. Carly sounded especially good tonight, clear and strong.Jason’s “Rainbow” was very sweet and a crowd pleaser. Syesha belted out the big notes effortlessly. Then she announced David.
It’s not that you hear screaming, that doesn’t do it justice. It’s a ground swelling thunderous roar. Everyone’s collective energy was poured into welcoming him. I can tell you he was technically perfect, absolutely spectacular. His voice filled the entire sports arena, enough to surround you and then some. I tried to stay in the moment but knowing the set was only four songs, I started missing him before it was over. He leaves you not hungry, but ravenous for more.
Don’t let the screaming keep you from seeing David. It wasn’t offensive at all. I found it conveyed a wonderful layer of appreciation to the whole experience.
“I started missing him before it was over. He leaves you not hungry, but ravenous for more. ”
Jany, that is so perfectly put. That is exactly how I feel every time I listen to David!
#21 kccy -- Thanks for the link for WYSYLM. The close up of his face adds to his performance. His joy, his relaxed demeanor, his smiles as he sings adds to the whole experience of listening to him sing this song. And the extra long pause in LA at the end was because he was grinning from ear to ear. Thanks for the treat.
Wow. Rascal’s back!? I will try not to dwell on my relief that notingdavid is back up… I’ll just say “thanks”.
If any of you have watched the video of David singing “When You Say You Love Me” — his reaction at 3:12-3:18 is just sooooo funny… and so genuine. Nice to see someone reaping the rewards of years of working toward your dream.

Bookaholic, I have an extra ticket for SLC Monday show -- tempting you!
At this point, I don’t think the suit even matters. He can wear any ridiculous thing when he sounds like this.
Hey Archu-adorable,
I’m only 60 miles from SLC and would love to see David!!! (Thanks to Janeys’ comments, I may just try and go!) Big problem is my 17 yr. old daughter is also wanting to go, & I couldn’t leave her out, we are a team (I am a bit more obsessed than she is)! Are there still tickets available??
I’m with you on the clothes, just let me hear that voice and see that glorious smile!!
Thanks Rascal for the great links, I much prefer reading your readers’ comments!
Yes, I have 2 tickets, I actually have 3. (Sorry Rascal for the business transaction -- is it OK since Mama Josie will be in SLC with me, too?!)
naturgirl -- call me 801-224-9893
Archudorable--I have to leave this minute to go get my handicapped daughter and take her to the movies. I’ll be back in 2 1/2-3 hours and would LOVE to discuss the ticket. I’m such a pushover when it comes to David!
Wish I had time right now, but I don’t. Want to leave me an email address or something? Gotta run…!! Darn it!
And once again, just when we’re getting used to an already revamped version of a song, David surprises us. What’s so awesome is that his little change ups are always successful.
Janey thanks for your review, so happy to hear how perfect he was. I am so tempted -- tickets are still available here…
