The Northern Star
R4D was kind enough to send me his latest photo art of David (gorgeous — the art, too — ha!), and it immediately reminded me of David’s current location in Canada which, according to his latest vlog, he developed an immediate affection for (“I wanna live here!”). As if he hadn’t captured nearly all of my attention already, anyone who wants to go north is a man after my own heart. Then, he says he loves New York, too. Oh, David, now you’re just teasing me.

It was good to hear David loves the north. I live in northern Michigan and it is beautiful here as well. What a beautiful picture of David. Thanks for sharing!!! Very nice to wake up to such beauty. It made my day!
R4D, that is Outstanding! I love all of your art. Thank you for sharing and Rascal, thanks for posting this.
Okay you’re freaking me out Rascal – I just bought a bottle of 2003 NORTHSTAR Merlot from the Columbia Valley in Washington state, for this exact reason. CRAZY!!! So Cheers!!
PS – it was rated a 91!!
r4d is incredible. I went through all of his work just now. Funny but, David has no clue how gorgeous he is. Unreal…..This picture of the north is awesome. He’s so angelic looking. He looks wonderful in comfortable clothes. They need to change his suit on tour to something more relaxing. They have to dry clean that suit every night, I’m sure. The fans in Canada said that he put so much into his performances that he was sweating perfusely.
Thank you Rascal for posting this new work of R4D. Stunningly beautiful Rabid!! That pose of David’s is so quiet and contemplative. We don’t see that very often in his pictures. He looks so different here, doesn’t he? Just another side of the multi-faceted David we are coming to know and love. The whole setting is serene and just gorgeous!
I love this image! Wouldn’t be a wonderful album cover???
I could easily see David living in Canada, maybe with a place in NYC.
I don’t really see him living in L.A. for some reason. I know that prominent Canadian artists such as Sarah McLachlan live in Vancouver. It is exciting to see him being able to travel through the tour and learn about places where’d he enjoy living.
Sorry if I’m out of it, but has anyone showed Rabid’s work to David or his father? I’d love to see their reaction to this most recent image!
Great shot of gorgeous-without-knowing-it-which-makes-him-more-gorgeous David.
Many of you are commenting that David would seem more at home north than west. I’m a midwestern gal, but I have a fondness for my friends on the east coast and in Canada. David’s nature seems more suited for friendly Canada or the cultured northeast than L.A. L.A. is too plastic. Alas, it is much closer to Utah.
Just another question that will intrigue fans for the next few years, as David begins to spread his wings.
Beautiful!! I can smell the crisp, cool air of the mountains and the colors and clarity and light reflect the beauty of David’s music. Thanks for sharing.
One more thing. This is off-topic, but I have only recently discovered this site through fanblast, and I want to thank Rascal for his eloquent writing, especially the Starchild article. I am a grown woman, schooled in classical music, who never listens to pop music and had never watched AI until May of this year. I have been a bit overwhelmed by my passion for David and his music and it is deeply comforting to find a writer who speaks the words of my experience. Rascal, thank you.
This face looks like the one in the photo where he is looking for a scripture (mentioned in the prior thread by frogcooke). I think it reflects the reverence he must have for these books. Maybe he was looking for Psalms 101 verse 1… “I will sing of mercy and judgment unto thee, Oh Lord, will I sing”!!!!! OH YEAH, he’ll sing!
The chapter heading is great too “David sings of mercy and judgement–He will forsake the company of evildoers”. Is this not our David?
I love R4D’s work!! I’m betting that David would feel very self conscious knowing that we are obsessing over these, but hey, tell his Dad or his agent, not him…and let us obsess!!
Rascal, your man crush (or is it “boy crush”?) for David is absolutely adorable!
Keep sharing your thoughts and these images!
This may be my favorite, just because of the contemplative pose and the feeling of serenity it invokes. Sort of how his singing makes me feel.
Freo, I know family members have seen some of his designs. Rabid made a design which I put on a shirt (for Rabid) and had David sign. I also gave one to one of his friends. Just by chance I noticed that someone (?Aubri at fanblast) actually captured the moment when I was showing the shirts to David. My stupid human tricks at fixing photos are not nearly what Rascal’s are, but here it is. The lighting was really wierd. My husband also took the most awesome photo of David hugging me after this exchange, but I’m not sharing that

Sorry – try again.
Absolutely gorgeous pic. R4D’s designs are crisp and vibrant.
It is fascinating to view David through everyone’s eyes. Some see David in a perspective I have yet to grasp.
It is certainly joyful to see him grow before our very eyes–truly a privilege and honor to see such honesty and vulnerability–he doesn’t have any shields up or duplicitous thought processes in place.
Beautiful artwork! I am a Baby Boomer & at a complete loss as to use most of our modern technology. I haven’t learned to use my computer beyond accessing Internet sites (my 70+ father & mother can’t even do that even though they have a laptop), so I am in awe of anyone who can make images such as those of David. I spent 12 years in Alaska and that is what R4D’s picture reminds me of–those beautiful mountains (especially the Chugach mountains surrounding Anchorage) and that’s one of the things I do miss about that lovely state. Being raised on the East Coast (and returning 2 years ago), I never saw really big mountains till I traveled across country to California many years ago and just fell in love with the scenery. I am vacationing in Utah next month (missing the tour by 2 days) and am looking forward to being surrounded by mountains again, even if for only a week. I love looking at their majestic beauty, knowing that the people living around them many years ago saw the same thing I am seeing now. There’s a sense of strength, beauty and permanancy about mountain ranges that is very reassuring to me, they never change in an ever-changing world. I guess David is like that to so many of us–strength, beauty and permanancy in an ever-changing world.
R4D’s work is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your work and thanks to Rascal for posting it!
R4D does great work! Really beautiful.
Love that image, Rascal, thanks. Just stunning. And hearing David say he wants to live here made my day.
He would fit right in. In fact, I almost made a sign for the Toronto show that said, “Polite. Humble. Funny. Could Archie be … Canadian?!” but I know what a proud Utahan (hope that’s right) he is, so I refrained.
you might enjoy this serene photo also at bigdots.blogspot.com

He is the Velvet Crusher. Beautiful art work from R4D. BTW, i love when David tease, i can hear the *giggle* in him. I’m tickled.
Wow, R4D, you are quite a talent in your own right – beautiful work.
I know this is a bit off the subject, and maybe old news to some of you, but have you seen Masterclass Lady’s comments on David’s Toronto performance. She attended the concert and has a rather detailed account of his performance. Her final paragraph is quite telling – “What a gift this young man has – what a prodigious and phenomenal talent. I will support this young man to the end of my days. Talent like this is very rare in one’s lifetime and should be endlessly celebrated and championed.”
No words.
Rascal, I adore you! Thank you for posting this picture. An honor to be featured in your blog as always.
Naturgirl, you are right, this is a composite of two images of David. The head shot was from the one where he is reading a poster, i think, which a fan gave and the body shot was from the photo shoot during AI days.
Archu_adorable – *can’t wait
thank you!
Guys, thank you for the kudos and I’m glad you all like it.
I love this picture. I would like to use it as my desktop, but I already get so teased by my family for loving David, that I don’t dare. They really don’t get my addiction at all.
Oh, by the way…I’m a newby here and I’m so glad to find someplace filled with adult DA fans. I thought there was something wrong with me for awhile. I have a grand-daughter the same age as David. I haven’t obssesed over a singer like this since I was 12 and the Beatles hit the States!
bouncy56 – Best advice is to admit your addiction and not try to hide it. Let your family tease you all they want. They will be eating their words when he is a mega-star! And then your grandkids will think you are so cool. When I die I expect my obituary to mention how I much I loved David Archuleta.
I was thinking about my funeral today – archu_dorable – thinking along the same lines here. My children or grandchildren will say, then there was that stage where she was “archulooney…” And then they will talk about how I recognized a star being born when they didn’t. Hmmm…. I love this picture. It looks like David is being introspective, gathering inspiration for the songs he’s about to sing or write.
bouncy56-no worries, you are in great company! My last “fangirly” experience was Tony Defranco!(remember him?) This “thing” I have for David goes wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy beyond that! He has made me a better person!( yeah, I know, he’s only 17!)!!!! BTW, Rascal, excellent choice of picture from R4D. BEAUTIFUL!!!
Hey daisychain, I love ‘Archulooney’ I may have to post that new word for my family to use too when referring to me!
Oh and I tried to respond to your “Oh that I were an Angel” discussion request, but my e-mail was returned…still interested?
