Talk About Versatility
One of the amusing and often annoying things (among so many) about the AI season was the knee-jerk assumption that David was lacking in versatility, that he was a ballad singer with perhaps slight inclinations toward boy-bandy pop tunes, but that it pretty much ended there. Those of us who connected early on with David in such a profound way knew this to be false, of course, realizing that the assumption was precipitated in large measure by the inexplicably restrictive nature of the AI format itself.
Fast on the heels of crushing any skepticism about his ability to soar into med-tempo pop territory with characteristic virtuosity, David appears in a series of photo shoots that convey another dimension of his versatilty. I was delighted to see that whoever is handling this work on behalf of Jive evidently dismissed entirely the image direction currently being displayed at davidarchuleta.com, which is ridiculous and inept.
This terrific series of photos showcases David’s image range from a fun teen pop star to a serious young musician, and pretty much everything in-between. It’s hard to say how many “looks” they may have experimented with, but those that have been released (or leaked–or perhaps that’s one in the same these days) appear to be smart choices that don’t go overboard in any direction.
Bravo, Jive. And David–if you still think you’re not photogenic, it’s a rare blind spot in an otherwise impressive self awareness!

Thanks Rascal for an insight to these beautiful photos of David. They highlight so many things about him, fun, silly, serious -- just love them. Thank you for sharing!
My goodness, 77 pics and all equally hynotizing, mesmerizing and crushing! The camera REALLY loves this young man. Perhaps one of them will be chosen as the CD cover? I’m sure his female fans will have major fainting spells with these pics.
You’re right about the versatile looks; it ranges from fun, innocent boy to smouldering, sexy ladykiller haha. Hope I’m not starting any heated debates ala the last thread!
If reviewing the pictures isn’t enough to glue you to your computer screen today, here’s another. Scroll down to the 68:57 version:

Yikes! I hate to be a dissenting voice here, but some of those pictures are hardly better than what others on another forum have labeled “Sears” photos! They seriously look like those age-old “glamour portraits”! Oi! What are they doing to my otherwise gorgeous and photogenic boy?
Not liking those white slacks at all (however, the photo that you feature here, Rascal, more than makes up for it by featuring one of David’s classic “serious” expressions, in which his eyes are to die for). Actually, I love all of the non-smiling pics because they really show off his natural good looks. The smiling pictures look terribly forced, as if David is uncomfortable, and not at all like the natural smiling that he does in many of the Archie fans’ candid photographs.
I dunno. I guess I’m expecting more from Jive because David does not take bad pictures (it’s impossible for someone like him), yet these photos seem so, how shall I put it delicately?, amateurish.
Wow, hello gorgeous, I don’t think I could disagree more. If anything, I was inclined to mention that these photos look too professional. That’s, I think, what is giving them the look of, as you call it “age-old glamour portraits” (what’s wrong with that?), but in any case, amateurish? No.
As far as David’s comfort level, I think he looks more at-ease here than I think I’ve ever seen him in these kinds of sessions. Nothing studio-generated will ever approach the spontaneity of a true life candid, and goodness knows David’s real joy beams out of him like nothing else, but I would suggest that this is not what is sought or even necessarily valued here. These ARE portraits. And they are beautiful ones at that, IMO.
Yes, Rascal, we are definitely going to have to agree to disagree here. Maybe I need to give them a few more glances?
David looks drop-dead gorgeous in the above picture, and with attitude!
I think the group of 77 pics contains some stunningly good ones, and some where he looks uncomfortable. It makes me think the whole photoshoot was leaked … and if the few where he looked uncomfortable were the worst of the lot, well, he did very, very well. If he weren’t a brilliant singer, the boy could still be a teen pop star. It just so happens that AI really, really lucked out with David Archuleta.
(And the fact that David Archuleta doesn’t appear to know the expanse of his charms just makes him all that much more charming.)
Call me crazy, but my favourite picture of David yet is the kooky one he uses on his MySpace (leaping in the air). It just captures that playful energy of his so beautifully — and his smile is a real one there, not forced at all.
Portrait photographers are always trying to capture that unguarded moment in their subjects and since David makes himself so “available” in his music and interactions (as you’ve astutely pointed out Rascal), I think he’d be a shutterbug’s dream subject.
Okay, Rascal, so I decided to take another look at the images, and they’re not as bad as I originally thought, but they are still missing that extra something I expect from a professional shoot.
I suppose this is going to be my regular reactions to any new stuff coming from David/Jive at this point. Like, when I first heard “Crush,” my heart sank because it seemed to be a rather generic pop radio song, but on repeat listens, I’m just bobbing along and singing to it. It’s very catchy. So, I dunno, I guess that’s the dilemma I’m facing.
Basically, I want David to be commercially successful so that he gets more opportunities to do the kinds of albums he really wants to do. But, this commercialism comes at a price, I now realize. There’s an artificiality-at least it seems to me- that Jive is creating here, and I find myself bracing against it because it just doesn’t mesh well with what I perceive to be David’s naturalness (whether we are talking about his God-given talent or his God-given gorgeousness).
For example, take a look at these pictures of David, featured in the Spanish-language version of People:
http://img517.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1e6nv4mj5.jpg
http://img375.imageshack.us/my.php?image=71qz37cj3.jpg
These are by far the BEST photos of David that I have seen, IMO. What I love about these images is how they capture, not so much the “wise innocence” you talk about, Rascal, but a “sensual innocence” that is so widely appealing to those of us who are his fans (young and old, male and female). Maybe the difference is in a Latino culture that recognizes that sensuality can have an innocent quality to it and vice versa, in contrast to our more “puritanical” English-speaking culture that likes to create sharp distinctions between innocence and sexuality (and yes, that may be my opinion, but who would deny our sexually repressed culture -- despite, or even perhaps because of our sex-obsessed, porn-driven culture, the offshoot of that sexual repression, I might add?). Jive’s photos suggest to me that they are hyping up an image of the “squeaky-clean” (I’m absolutely tired of that term when describing David; it’s downright condescending, if we’re being honest here) youth who appeals to the “teens and grannies” (as Simon has described), and that’s really rubbing me the wrong way. Not in the sense of making me feel guilty for being a thirty-something crushing on a 17-year-old (curiously enough, I don’t have similar feelings when it comes to Chris Brown, who may be legal at 19 but when he debuted in the music world around David’s age, he didn’t make anyone older feel llike a pedophile) but just in the sense of feeling like the potential I see in David to mature in an age-appropriate way, sex appeal included, is being sublimated for a juvenile image (or at least a juvenile pretending to be a man).
David may be boyish, but he’s also a young man. He’s a teenager, who is only months away from being a legal adult. Perhaps I’d like to see an image of him that looks like he’s on the cusp of that adulthood, not regressing into prepubescence.
Then, finally, is the simple fact of his awe-inspiring beauty that deserves way, way, WAY more than cheesy and conventional portraits. I’ve seen breathtaking photos from the likes of R4D. Surely, Jive should be able to top that. When I hear that David is doing professional portraits, I expect to be knocked out and scraping my jaw up off the floor. It just seems to me that David comes to the table with so many awesome things, and the folks that he’s working with are not meeting him half way.
Also, as someone who teaches, I’m just going to say it, using my grading metaphor. Seeing someone like David advancing his way into the current music industry is like watching your best and most stellar A student compromising his best skills so that he can fit into the mediocrity of “C” students. It irks me to no end, and although I understand what David must do to succeed, it bothers me. I hate mediocrity, and David has been an inspiration to me these past few months because he reminds me of all that is so much and more.
“Crush,” while addictive to listen to, along with these various photo shots, are decent. But, David is so beyond. I guess I’d like to see that Jive is capable of reaching his level. Just because they hold the power doesn’t mean David should come down to their level. It’s simply a pity that David is relegated to B+ work (which is what he’s able to elevate their C-level work to) when he’s capable of delivering an A+.
Anyway, I’ll stop now since this “essay” is getting too long.
hello gorgeous — I agree with a lot of what you say (as usual). But I diverge with you in a couple ways. As regards the photography, I actually think the Latin People shots make him look way too young. He’s almost 18, not 15 (although I agree that they appear perhaps less ‘structured’).
Regarding David’s being “above” all the commercial mediocrity, well, of course he is. We know that. But most performers of consequence started out in conventionally popular channels before having enough resources, freedom, and influence to pursue original directions. Think of the Beatles, Neil Young, Stevie Wonder, even Justin Timberlake (whose later work, though far short of groundbreaking, is nevertheless much more intelligent and sophisticated). It’s like any artistic endeavor: You need to conquer the conventions before you have enough credibility to start breaking them.
The reason I am so pleased about what Jive is doing so far is not that I think it comes anywhere close to what is most unique about or possible for David, but that it could have so easily been so much worse. The single and the images indicate to me that they are taking him more seriously than they might have, and that they are trying to understand who he is and not just what they think the public wants. That’s only going to be the case to a certain extent, of course; we can’t expect them to suddenly dispense with every marketing instinct and consumer survey, and focus on something so risky as true originality. Not gonna happen.
So, in the meantime, while David spends a few years thinking about what he will bring to the marketplace when he decides to take a lot more control, I think the best we can see here is evidence of an ersatrz hippocratic oath: “First, do no harm.”
Ack! We are so not seeing eye to eye here! Just goes to show that people really don’t see the same thing when they’re looking at the same picture!
That’s okay. I’m always in agreement with you on alot of other things. I guess my own expectations for what Jive can do are extremely high. And since I respect your opinion and consider you one of the most level-headed of the Archuleta fans, I’m definitely willing to keep an open mind as to how they treat our David. But, I’d be lying if I said I don’t have my concerns!
I’m learning to Trust the Archulator, but I am still waiting for the moment when everything clicks right out the gate. I continue to hold out hope.
Rascal,
Your mention of the Beatles made me think about their image as they first emerged on the U.S. scene with the Ed Sullivan show. For the mass market they were “cleaned-up” a bit with suits and matching haircuts, a look quite different from their grungy Hamburg days. I have no idea how much creative control the Beatles were given over their early materials versus how much they were pushed to create commercial hits, but that early success allowed them to lead us on a long and creative musical journey.
Whenl I saw these pictures last night I thought they were incredible…. My first impression was just a confirmation for what an incredibly handsome young man David is and that these pictures actually looked like they belonged in a modeling portfolio. My neice is a successful model and these photos were similar in quality to what I have seen in her professional portfolio (not glamour shots!) so I was very impressed! There may be some of David’s pictures that I like better than others, but I think they are great as a whole and I am happy to see him in front of the camera as much as possible… both professionally and candidly. He has gone from running away and hiding from the camera to this!! Wow! I am impressed! Not surprising… this is David Archuleta! I guess I am just enjoying the whole process of watching David transform into a superstar and his comfort in front of the camera is part of that. I could be wrong, but I actually think he had fun experimenting with all these different images and styles. Bravo David!
Rascal -- I so enjoy this blog and looking at events in David’s emerging career through your eyes. It is a rare treat to have an artist interpret an artist. Thank you!
designer4davida -- I drew the same conclusions you did in viewing the pictures. David is developing his relationship with the camera and I thought he was having fun with this photo shoot.
When viewing the photos I noted they were being rated and some of the ones I liked best, were rated lower that the rest. Some caught his faraway, in another place look, which are my favorites.
Thank you for sharing these amazing photos of David. In my personal opinion, the ‘serious’ photos do him the most justice. His smile seemed strained the majority of the time. But, I have no doubt he will become accustomed to posing and get beyond that, just like he is already getting beyond the shyness on camera!
I have faith in David and his Dad. I know they are following along with what is ‘marketable’ at this point. My instincts tell me, we will hear music we long to hear from David in his album; soulful, meaningful songs. At this point, they have to work to capture fans outside of American Idol.
I’m willing to sit back and watch. There is no doubt he is going to be a huge success~Sandy
He is simply GORGEOUS! Oi! Love this young man, who continue to give me Joy in my heart!
OMG Rascal, it seems you and I have the same taste. Out of 77 pics, this was my favorite, as I commented on another forum earlier. I believe David has one of, if not the best smile, in God’s creation, however, I am lovin’ this serious, pensive side of him. I am of the (sigh) older Archie loving fans; but in the last 6 months or so, I’ve been feeling 16 lots of times.
I will agree with some of the comments here that some of the shots look slightly forced, especially the smiley photos; however, his body is extremely relaxed which is not always an easy thing to do. I’ve noticed that when he takes pictures with fans, his smile is forced, not natural, which is when he’s at his best.
chickee — there’s one other I think is pretty special, but I would have to write about how smoldering it is, and god knows I’m not going THERE on here again anytime soon…
Although, I usually dislike the photos, such as the one with David “leaping” on his myspace and especially that horrible davidarchuleta.com photo, that make David look younger than he is, I definately agree with hello georgeous (#10) that the photos in the Spanish language People are possibly the best photos of David I’ve seen. They just captured something. . . ; something that I think is an exciting glimpse of David in the future. . . and “sensual innocence” seems a great description.
Otherwise, I prefer photos which capture the older side of that transition to a more mature look in which he currently seems to be, as some in the group of 77 photos do but which some fail to do so dismally. I’m worried that some people (both management and fans) would like to keep him young as long as possible, a sort of possessiveness that could cause him problems as nears the need to transition from teen music and appearance to the young adult that I occasionally now glimpse in some of his best photos. Just look at the change from photos taken at the beginning of AI to certain (great!) photos now. Exciting!
Rascal, I completely agree with you on 20!!! OMGsh!
While admittedly some of these (actually a lot of them) look like the Senior Pic photos my son just had taken, when the subject is as beautiful as David Archuleta, it doesn’t really matter now does it?
hellogorgeous, I’m confused at your animosity towards these pics, even with your excellent explanations. Such a wide variety of styles and poses are obviously an experiment to see what works best. As long as they don’t choose the green slacks ones, I’ll be OK. I personally love the mirrored wall. And yes, they did remind me exactly of a modeling portfolio -- which is usually put together to showcase the different looks and styles a model can pull off. They range from the goofy to the sultry. Awesome is all I can say.
#20 -- Yes, that one is my favorite for sure. And if these are amateurish and not very good pics of David, then it is a good thing. Because if they get any better than that “one other”.. my favorite, then I would have to be committed.
So based on your comment#20 Rascal, does that mean you aren’t planning to pair my favorite picture w/the audio for Crush and have them come up on your website together so that we can discuss (while we wipe the sweat off our brows)? Bummer.
So is this where we get to discuss the color of his T Shirt? No -- totally joking! HAHAHA
Where does the time come from to do this sort of thing? His schedule seems to full. Portraits are not my style, but these shots are miles and miles better than the ice cream, cotton candy shot on his official site. (Yikes, and I really don’t like to criticize, especially when it comes to David)
Some of the smiling shots seemed forced, but over all this a much better way to present his “image”. Maybe if someone was telling him silly jokes on the side that great smile would come through!
OMG RASCAL, heaven help me, i haven’t seen that one, I just dropped on the floor.
Janey: I really enjoyed that chat with David’s voice coach, Dean Kaelin. I downloaded his journal about David’s experience on AI and was one of those who had written to him about David’s voice moving me to tears. He replied to my email and told me that he was going to pass it on to David. Very nice guy.
Rascal: Loved the pictures. Not all of them, but most were pretty good. None of them compare to the one you have at the top of this page though. It’s my 2nd favorite. Although R4D’s graphic of David with the word Angel on it isn’t a real photo, it’s my all time fave.
Had a strange kind of day today regarding David. I was so depressed everytime I played one of his songs and couldn’t figure out why…then it hit me. I was experienceing seperation anxiety. I felt the exact same way when my oldest son moved out on his own. My heart nearly broke as I watched my son drive down the street to his new life..clear across to the other side of town. LOL!
As I shared that special moment at the radio station on Friday, I think a part of me said…he doesn’t need my support anymore…he’s ready to fly on his own…hence the seperation anxiety. I’m smiling as I write these words now, but I was in tears earlier today until I figured out what, exactly, I was feeling. I’m still not sure what I’m supposed to do now. Oh sure, I’ll buy his CDs…any and all of them, but what else can I do? I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to see him in concert now because he’s going to become such a huge star that his concerts will sell out in 10 minutes like Miley’s do and this Grandma ain’t that quick on the keyboard. Heavy sigh.
So help me out here, please…now what do I do?
(Sorry of some of the out of order sentences above. I tend to do that when I ramble..LOL) I wish I could figure out how to cut and paste on this forum.
If these are the outtakes, I want to see the good ones!
In his June 20th blog, David writes…
“….. I also had a photoshoot today which was a lot of fun. I actually used to hate pictures and would like run from any camera until about last summer. Yeah I was pretty weird haha. But anyway I’ve gotten a lot better with cameras and don’t mind them, especially since they’re everywhere now. I can probably thank Fish for overcoming my fear of cameras, since she had one everywhere we hung out last summer and I started getting the hang of it. ”
I’m pretty sure this is the photo shoot he’s talking about.
I am always happy when there are new pics of David, and this new batch is no exception. Rascal, LOVE the one you chose to present at the top of this blog, as I prefer the serious David, with that certain look in his eyes. However, my absolute favorite pic of our boy is the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in the light colored suit jacket…that smoldering gaze of his makes me turn into putty. If he’s capable of this now at age 17, heaven help me when he’s a couple years older. YIKES!
I have been frustrated too many times to mention here at TPTB’s absolute vacant thinking when it comes to David’s versatility. They never understood his talent, his range, his interests. They didn’t seem to trust his brilliant instincts. I’m glad to see some of this changing. I still don’t think they get him completely. They are so busy trying to categorize him, and yet he finds a way to slip out of that choke-hold and go in a new direction--remarkable guts for someone his age.
I love these new photos. Finally, professional photographs that begin to capture some of the beauty I’ve seen in some of the candid fan photos. As for me, I discovered a common denominator in the photos I preferred versus the ones nearer the bottom of my personal list. The ones that I really liked were those that were taken either in natural light or outside. I liked the Spanish language People Magazine photos – although the bicycle in the background was a bit much for me. And I really like the chain link fence photos from the photo shoot. Maybe David is more himself in those kinds of settings versus in a photographer’s studio. I’d like to see what Annie Leibovitz would do with him, though!
Bouncy56, I’m so glad you posted about your feelings. The day after “Crush” premiered I had the same sensation. I was so excited the day before that David had reached his dream. I was very happy for him. But I realized, in a way, that I somehow felt I had a proprietary interest in David. Prior to “Crush” it was as if we had “discovered” him and everyone else hadn’t caught on yet. It’s now nice to be able to say, “I told you so” regarding his talent, but now I need to get accustomed to sharing. Bittersweet. (Selfish, I know. I went through the same thing when my son left the nest.)
I was wondering today how difficult it must be for David’s close friends and family to be without David’s company and to have to share him with the world now. But, David is on his amazing trajectory, and it is indeed wonderful to witness. His talent is undeniable and he gives and elicits such love!
I also wonder how David’s hometown friends think of all this. I’m sure they are thrilled, but it also must be overwhelming and moving so quickly.
I still can’t get over these new pics. I looks like they our outtakes that were leaked. I have to admit that David is one of the most beautiful male teens that I have ever seen. If People magazine does not include them in their next “Beautiful People” issue, they need to have their heads examined.
Hi Rascal and fellow angels,
I have been a lurker forever, forevvvveeerrrrrrrrrr
But I can’t help it tonight. I just don’t understand how one man can be so talented and so gorgeous at the same time. He’s sooooo good looking to the point that some people forget about his talent. I mean how can all these things come together in one person? -- not to mention the precious personality. Everyday I just hope JIVE realizes what they have!
Oh David! God mush have spent a little more time on you.
Juliebug (28), thank you for posting the quote from David that he said he had fun on the photo shoot! This had to have been the one! I was just guessing and I am really glad to hear it! It really is pretty incredible to me that he has come so far in such a short time and in so many ways…. not just in front of the camera.
I love looking at the photos. My favorites are the more serious ones. It makes me wonder once again about the dreadful concert suit. David rises above it, but I would love to see him on stage in some appropriate clothes that fit. Oh well!
I have never posted here before, but then again, I have never been a fangirl before! I like many of the photos, but I especially like the ones in the plaid shirt -- we’ve seen those expressions ion his face a hundred times. He looks so natural in them. I, also, really like the non-smiling photos in the gray jacket group as well as the blue scorpion shirt/white jacket group. We know how great his smile is, but, for me, the ones that are more serious really capture that “mature beyond his years” expression that I have seen so often not only when he performs but also on his face and in his eyes during interviews when he makes eye-contact and sorta leans in toward the interviewer, wanting to really hear and understand the question before he responds with an unexpectedly thoughtful answer delivered in his so cute David way. Have you seen him do that?
My husband and I are both so amazed by both David’s voice and character. You watch and listen to him and think “How does he do that?” He is such a winsome young man, charming and joyful. His countenance is just radiant, isn’t it? We feel like we are two of the “smart ones” to have recognized the incredible talent of this uniquely gifted young man and to sit back with so many others and watch in wonder!! He really is so special!!
Really love this website, Rascal!! Your insight is so helpful and appreciated!!
I love the pictures of him period. I prefer the unsmiling one because they look so mature. Rascal that picture that you don’t want to discuss is……oh forget it, you know. This young man sizzles without trying.
I too would love to see Annie Lebowitz photogragh David some day. She can somehow bring so much out of a person in a photo, she has a way of understanding who that person is and it comes through in her shots. Or totally dispelling so many preconcieved thoughts everyone has of her subject. There are no words that can describe some of her photos. Well, breathtaking, would be one.
He really is a shutterbugs dream subject. Probably much to his dismay!!
I have been a lurker in here and never posted but I feel compelled to now. I must admit when I saw these pics of David I needed serious CPR!!! To me, every pic was amazing because of the subject matter but I agree not every single one does him justice!! Rascal, the one that you don’t want to discuss, that smoldering look of his, the world around me stopped and I could hardly breathe when I saw that one!!! Seriously, he’s only 17 and never been kissed?? That pic says otherwise!!! I wonder if David has any inkling of what he is doing to his female fans when he does looks like that!!! Also, I wanted to post a comment on the last article but saw that comments were closed!!! I won’t comment here, though, because I don’t want to start anything!!! Let’s just say that David elicits a host of feelings from all of us, and because we are all different(thank goodness), we won’t all have the same feelings!!! I must admit, though, that I agree with you Rascal!! In any case, thank you soooo much for this grown up site where I can at least feel at home with my ODD!!!! Many around me think that I need some sort of intervention and I can’t talk with ANYONE around me about any of this!!!
oh, and one more thing, not a fan of the color of the green jeans but LOVE how they fit him!!!! Ok, sorry, that’s all!!!
rascal #20 response
HAHAHA! I’m ROTFL!!! So happy to see you got your sense of humor back. And about that pic… whooo-boy (deep breath).
bouncy56 and kindred spirit
Ohmygoshashley, thank you for hitting THAT nail on the head. I had a similar feeling a few days ago—a sadness seeped into me I could not explain—and I still was at a loss to really pin it down. That’s it!! There is definitely a sense that the satellite is in orbit now, and all the rocket boosters are no longer needed. David’s launch was stunning and exciting to witness—AND, there will never be another moment like that. So glad that video captured the delierious joy and energy of the first single on air. Now, how is anything EVER going to top that?
I know for a fact that his family is missing him terribly. It is said that “you can never go home again” and certainly David will not be able to in any formerly-familiar way again. I am not a mother, but I sure feel for those of you who are. So bitter sweet.
#11 rascal response. I couldn’t agree more.
And the pics, I don’t like the “lying” post (except the one lying on the sofa)… I admit it is a bias, but I think it is “weird” when his smile, the post, the gesture mixed together.
Just wanted to share this video if you haven’t seen it yet. About 30 seconds into it, David looks into the camera and laughs. Adorable. I laugh everytime I watch it. David brings so much joy into my life. He really is incredible.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkYeEaQOegk&eurl=http://davidarchuletafanblast.com/
Like many of you, I’ve never been a person to follow the career of a celebrity so intently, even as a teenager. My daughters, to say the least have been alarmed. They will come to the concert with me on Sunday and thankfully I will sit by myself because I couldn’t get seats all together. They love David, but are college age and full of advice for their mother. If I decide to scream (between songs only) I don’t want them to try to stop me. I don’t want David to doubt how much we love him up here in New England!
These pictures are wonderful for many reasons beyond the fact that he is naturally photogenic. I like when David looks unsure in a few of the photos. Part of his appeal is in his lack of cockiness that so many teen idols have an abundance of and I like that he is probably thinking it is corny to pose. I also think they demonstrate his unique ability to be sexy and angelic at the same time. I say that not because I am attracted to him but because it is a fact.
What I am attracted to is his voice. The emotion he imbues in each performance, even songs that are beyond his years, is like I’ve only heard from a few performers. I also love the way he seems wise and innocent at the same time. He has clearly been brought up very well. I want him to be successful because he deserves it so much.
#20 rascal, regarding “one other” maybe instead of leather pants we should be thinking church slacks…I’m just sayin’…
LOL Rascal I love you! You have the best way of explaining things. I love the pics *THUD* and they sure do show a more mature David. Rascal, the “other” pic you like is one of my favorites too -- but it is very difficult to choose a favorite! I think you should feel free to say whatever you want since it is YOUR website afterall! A stirring conversation never hurt anyone right?? LOL Some of these pics are very unexpected -- so smoldering- geez David -- how do you do that?
#20/rascal (and hello Chickee…good to see you here this morning)…OH MY GOSH…
the picture of him sitting by the fence HAS ME HYPNOTIZED, MESMERIZED…..
I’m sneaking in from work, but I doubt I’ll be very productive after looking at these pictures for the second day in a row! Someone mentioned in one of the comments today that David is completely unaware of his good looks and this is, indeed, the most effective part of his charm for me. GO DAVID!!!!!
#44/Teddy: DESERVES IT, INDEED!!!
teddy351-where are you from? I will be going to the concert on Sunday as well and wondered if I was the only David Archuleta fan I knew (well, besides my sweet mom)…
perhaps I could finish my sentence so that it makes sense (dang pix have me all bejiggity-sorry):
…and wondered if I was the only David Archuleta fan I knew (wel, besides my sweet mom) that lived in New England!
There, all better now -
#41/highervibe: So true that David will probably never again experience the family life as he knew it. I never thought of that before reading your post today..and it is truly sad in so many ways, but at the same time, he & his family will experience so many happy moments because they have all strived so hard over the years to support David and to help him get to this point in his career….what a beginning for David and can you just imagine how very proud his family must be right now. I’m a Mom so I know, first hand, what it feels like when your children grow up and set out on their own. My heart goes out to Lupe but, at the same time, I know she must be beaming with pride for her son.and his accomplishments..and she’s not alone in her feelings.
#39/Dreamer: Don’t worry too much about your ODD…you’re in good company (lol)…my family also thinks I need some professional help, my husband in particular. I used to watch TV after work and during the evening..instead, I just record on my DVR any shows I want and watch them later…I spend my evenings now on the computer browsing the sites for “anything David”….I’m just a little concerned myself, come to think of it. Speaking of DVR, I watched David’s final performance of “Imagine” while I was getting ready for work this morning and, even though I’ve watched hundreds of times in the past, I was once again in awe of the audience reaction that night..not just after the performance, but DURING his song…the audience was so inspired that it appeared they could not be silent or still in their seats….it was like nothing I had ever seen before. I wonder if David realizes the impact he had over that entire theatre on that magicical night! I hope so…
…oops…magical!
The pics of David are super..so many different vibes and I adore them all. Rascal I love the one you chose for this blog. In it he looks as mature as when he sings, and so thougjtful and yet dreamy and well, I can go on and on.
i have not posted in a while and must share that I had a wonderful experience at the Toronto concert. I met some wonderful angels (hello TOfan and Sunshine) We had waited 6 hours before the show to meet him but only got a glimpse of him through an upper window. He was so adorable , pretending to push through the glass to come and meet us. After the show, and much debating about whether or not to wait around in the huge crowd, we did get to meet him briefly. I gave him a small gift and my daughter got her tshirt signed. The fans were crazy and it was very rushed, but I still cannot believe how this boy just glows. There is something at work in him that is just amazing.
Enjoying the discussion -- David tends to bring out a wide variety of opinions. I personally agree that the photos in the Spanish People Magazine make him look more like a 15 yr old than someone who is 4 mos away from being 18 yrs old. He looks more like a “bubblegummer” than the serious, talented artist that he is (even though he looks “adorable” in the photos. I guess, there in lies the problem.)
I like the diversity in these photographs, and as rascal noted, eludes to his diversity as an artist. I do agree, however, that there is a certain quality that is missing in these photographs that was present in some his earlier photo shoots on AI, but I cannot put my finger on it.
And yet, he is one of the most photogenic people I have ever seen and he absolutely cannot take a bad picture. It must be that inner light that just flows through him.
I agree with you all, hoping that 19 Entertainment and Jive realizes that they will have huge financial success with this young man and that he can be successfully marketed in a less “commercial” manner (I do not want to see a David Archuleta lunch box!) Hope my rambling makes sense.
Sorry to digress, but thought you’d all enjoy this:

My dear rascal on #20 — DITTO
The song of Streisand “The Way He Makes Me Feel” suddenly comes to mind
There’s no chill and yet I shiver
There’s no flame and yet I burn
I’m not sure what I’m afraid of
And yet I’m trembling
There’s no storm yet I hear thunder.
And I’m breathless, why I wonder?
Weak one moment,
Then the next I’m fine.
I feel as if 1′m falling every time
I close my eyes
And flowing through my body
Is a river of surprise.
Feelings are awakening
I hardly’ recognize as mine!
What are all these new sensations?
What’s the secret they reveal?
I’m not sure I understand
But I like the way I feel.
Oh, why is it that every time
I close my eyes he’s there?
The water shining on his skin,
The sunlight in his hair?
And all the while I’m thinking things
That I can never share with him.
I’m a bundle of confusion
Yet it has a strange appeal.
Did it all begin with him,
And the way he makes me feel
I like the way he makes me feel…
Haha.
#10/Hello gorgeous: I’m posting late to your earlier comment regarding your concerns about David compromising his outstanding talent for a start in the music industry. My first reaction is “let’s just wait until his album comes out before making any assumptions”…we all know that David strives to produce quality in all that he does so, keeping that in mind, we should be giving him and his team the benefit of the doubt at this point. It’s way too early to speculate in my opinion. Additionally, this is a very special time in this wonderful young man’s life…when I think of how he sat at the radio station that debut morning, trembling with excitement while listening to his very first song …going out over the air waves for the very first time… it still brings tears to my eyes. David deserves our support now more than ever. He loves his fans…let’s stand by him….
#57jackryan4DA: MY GOSH, those lyrics describe a “CRUSH”….
Josie, I live in Scarborough, Maine which is near Portland. I’ve been reading and enjoying your posts all year but I’m kind of shy about posting. I’m going to see if I can pick you and Rascal out in the crowd on Sunday! I thought you were from the West Coast somewhere! I’m really hopeful that New Hampshire shows David a lot of love -- from what I’ve been reading, his performances have a way of making fans out of the most cynical of people. Maybe I’ll even go again to Providence in September!
#36 (unable to make out your name…sorry)…I enjoyed your post. I often ask myself the same question about David…how is it possible for one person to be so outstandingly talented and good looking at the same time…not to mention his wonderful disposition…he’s almost too perfect. Wow, what an image to live up to…but if anyone can do it, it’s our David.
P.S. in addition to all of the above, it’s amazing to think that David is so unaware of all these special qualities he has….he too busy being David!
Josie, New England girl here! CT actually, and i’m going to the Hartford show tomorrow night. Can’t eat, sleep, or think until then. Gettin’ shaky just thinkin’ about it!! It’s such nice weather here today, hope it continues tomorrow so David won’t have to sweat bullets in the hot sun signing autographs! Hi Marylee!
Hey Rascal, how are you doing today? Thanks so much again for the pics yesterday. I was wondering if I could ask for a Xmas present a little early this year? Do you have any more pictures with David’s “come hither” look? they are incredible, to say the least. My goodness, I am a grown woman with grown children and have NEVER felt this way before in my life, for Pete’s sake!! What in the world is going on here??? My husband wonders what could possibly be so fascinating on my computer! I was always glued to the TV watching every Red Sox game with him and now between innings I am always checking my computer. I’m not complaining, David has made me so happy, I guess I’m just perplexed at it all.
Have a great day Rascal, and thanks again.
Janey #56, thanks for sharing that link! Nice sound quality!
Marylee #58, sorry that I came off sounding like I’m not being supportive of David. It’s more of me wringing my hands in anticipation of what’s ahead of him, and like so many of you, I want nothing but the best for him because he so deserves it.
But please rest assured that I’m fully behind David even if I’m being overcritical. Such high scrutiny on my part can only mean I’m truly invested!
teddy351 and chickee-HIIII-I live just north of Boston MA on the seacoast of NH. I will be coming to the concert with my mom and meeting up with many angels! I can’t wait!
I will be sitting on the floor (can’t remember where at the moment), but I’m sure we’ll connect!
I have no complaints about the pictures. I just keep shaking my head. He is a photographer’s dream. Just cannot take a bad picture! There oughta be a law! How can anyone be so goodlooking?!
Most of the smiling ones appear natural and unstrained to me. I think he can look so directly and tellingly into the camera and into people’s eyes because he’s got a really clear conscience. I just love that about him. The serious pictures are just plain stunning. Some like the one sitting by the fence are smouldering. I put it on my desktop after a bit of reflection. My son may string me up or turn me into the authorities, I don’t know. haha It is a beautiful, stirring picture. (Someone made a comment on another thread about it that was hilarious, but I’d better not share in this case. Too bad. The women would appreciate it. haha)
For me the reason David is so surely destined for superstardom and the absolute top realms of the music industry is the unreal combination we find in him. That voice. How rare is that? Exquisite, soaring, passionate. OMG! He sings from such deep part of himself, and if your heart is open to him, it hits you at the same level. Extremely moving and tender experience to hear him sing some songs. Then he has that uncommon musicality that you just don’t find. Rascal is right. We’ve gotta trust the Archulator. He knows what he’s about when it comes to music. Couple these amazing talents with who David is as an incredibly endearing human being, with that shining spirit that just wafts off him, and the gorgeous looks, and it’s a LOCK. Success is all but assured. No one deserves it more, either.
I can relate to the separation anxiety. I find myself missing David terribly and no resolution in sight. How I can have become so attached to him, a musician and celebrity who I’ll typically experience only at a distance, is puzzling. I’ve never been a fan before so I’m not sure what to do with the feelings. Just love him from a distance, I guess. Weird. He’s something else, something new in the world. A very good addition.
#62/Chickee: We want a full detailed report on tomorrow’s night’s concert and I know we can count on you! Are you planning to attempt getting an autograph?
#63/Hello gorgeous: …understood! I wonder if David realizes how many people are so emotionally “invested” in him? I think it might blow his mind if he knew the enormity of it all…
#65/Bookaholic: Regarding the separation anxiety …I’ve been “spending time with David” since AI auditions (and really enjoyed him as a little boy on Star Search) and, when you consider I had every performance of AI recorded on my DVR, I was able to visit anytime I wanted. My husband thought I had lost my mind when I would be getting ready for work and watching David via tape every morning! So…..
I ask myself…what are you going to do September 13th when David finally has the opportunity to really start his music career and will no longer be immediately available to
his supporters who love him so much….I hope I’ll be wise enough to do what I did with my own children…kiss them good bye, tell them I’ll always be there if they need me…… and pray for them!
Josie, our family has such fond memories NH, and especially the Portsmouth area. We would take the kids to Water Country, then explore the beaches from Portsmouth down to Salisbury Beach in MA. My Gosh, how I miss those days. They are the best. I was doing ok so far today; then I read Marylee’s post about kissing her kids good-bye, now I’m gone!! anyway, I’m not going to the Sunday show, as you are, I’m going to the Hartford show, cause I live near the CT shoreline. How I would love to meet up with you, and somewhere on here I thought I had read that Rascal was going to that show too. Wow, that would be so great, but no such luck.
Marylee, of course I am going to try to get Meet ‘n Greet passes. My husband is coming and my daughter is driving down from Boston and going also. They’ll tell me I’m nuts, weird, etc. and to just relax and enjoy the show, but nooooooooo, not this girl. I WILL try and seek out Jeff, shake his hand (try not to babble and act somewhat intelligent -- lol) and discreetly tell him that I would LOVE to meet David. I’ll say that out of all the people in the world I would some day like to meet, it wouldn’t be world leaders, movie celebrities, or even my Boston Red Sox, that would be your son David! and hopefully, he won’t call out the white coats on me, but just give me one or two passes. omg, today is totally unproductive for me, I can’t think of anything else. HELP!!
I will be reporting in as soon as I get home, trust me!
#69/Chickee: If you get close enough to him, be sure and sniff out the “nutmeg” and “cinnamon” fragrance that was reported by the fan that hugged him…so funny..I remember she said she took a deep breath so that she could breathe in as much of his air space as possible, then leaned in as close as she could and that’s when she smelled the “aroma that is David”‘ lol….I never laughed so hard in my life …..back to the subject at hand, be sure and tell him that Marylee from North Carolina adores him (yeah, right …I’m sure you’ll use up your time talking about me)! Have fun, be careful in your travels and scream like the fangirl that you are!
Marylee from North Carolina, you bet I’ll mention your name and bet on it that I’ll be sniffing for that gorgeous aroma too! If my daughter dares to be late driving from Boston (cause she is late for evvveerryyything), I’m leaving without her. Oh another thing, I won’t care if the people next to me are 13 and give me looks at the concert, I’m going to scream my brains out. “Dance like nobody’s watching” right? at our age, we earned that right!
#72….you’ve got that right..you go girl!!!
Hey guys! I love pictures of David as much as the next fan but some of those photos I’m not too thrilled with, if for no other reason than I feel that David doesn’t really like posing for pictures and does it only because he knows he has to. I hope he earned a tidy sum, what a drag--but it’s all part of the “game” and he knows it, so he does what he has to do. The candid pics on Fanblast are the best in my opinion, David isn’t trying to be adorable or handsome, he’s just being David (which is the same thing!). The picture in People is good--great, in fact--but David looks a lot younger than 17-1/2, don’t know why. My favorite “professional” picture is the one in the American Idol Tour book, the photo that appears on the screen before he rises up out of the stage. It’s his eyes that get you, those sexy, smoldering eyes. . . .The eyes have it!
Marylee, I am also a Tarheel, I live in the Triangle area. What about you? I can’t go to the concert in Charlotte, I’ll be in Utah!
chickee-my daughters are 18 and 20 and we spent many a day at Water Country years ago-fond, fond memories! Of course, living within 1 mile of the ocean, we spent many a day there too. Time sure does fly, even when you’re not having fun!
Enjoy your concert! Will look forward to hearing all about it!
oh, hey rascal -- how you doin’?
Rascal, I love your blog. And I’m gettin’ shakey just thinkin’ about your upcoming concert experience…and hearing all about it from you!
I’ve only been able to skim this thread but wanted to chime in. (I don’t do that very often.)
Hello Gorgeous! I always love reading your posts and agree with you all the gosh dang time!
I wanted to say that I think what David will unleash upon the world over the span of his career will satisfy all of us like nobody’s…nutterbutters. But I also hear him and believe him when he says he LIKES pop! He has mentioned his pop “heroes” if you will, many times and I feel his joy at the prospect of running with those who are, in his very own estimation, the big dogs! Oh, the joy I feel for him. (Also, I’m wildly bonkers for “Crush”!) And, HoustonRufus, re: your “…yet he finds a way to slip out of that choke-hold and go in a new direction–remarkable guts for someone his age…” I think “Crush” does just that.
I’ve also always been a strong advocate for David to thoroughly ENJOY being, after all, SEVENTEEN. Seventeen! Seventeen! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! lol! I’m completely gobsmacked with “Crush” because it serves us up with so much finger-lickin’ good musical archu_calories, while allowing him to start running with those big dogs! (Honestly, my heart is just bursting with happiness for him non-stop these days. I’ve yet to come up with an archu_term that accurately reflects my joy for him. “O.D.D.” simply will not suffice.)
I am probably naive (naah, I take that back) but I think David is in good hands and that they (Jive) actually do have his best interest at heart.
How does that fit in with the fresh crop of pix that’s fueling the raging New Archu_Pix Feeding Frenzy? Well, I assume those images are exactly what they appear to be— unabashed, unadulterated teeniebop marketing at full throttle. It does give me the willies at some level, because I agree with Hello Gorgeous about, well, pretty much everything regarding those images. But I take them for what they are, and they don’t scare me one nanobit where the well-being of his career is concerned--in fact, probably the opposite. (And hey, Rascal, I do have an appreciative bone or two in my body for both the “Preppy Bad Boy David” and the “David on a Fence” pix! Jez so’s y’know, I am not immune!)
Having resisted the sport of naming one’s *favorite* of this and that, from photos to davidisms to performances (because, hey, why limit oneself--there’s so much to love!), I do have a confession to make. I think this is my all-time favorite image of David Archuleta. It speaks volumes, IMO, like no other photo. To me it is the *real* sexy—the *organic* sexy — and I hope, the *new* sexy.
Random tidbits: Would also love to see Lebowitz get her lens on him.
And, archu_adorable, those “green slacks”? … lol… we have a name for britches like those in my family. Those are whatcha call “go-to-hell pants”!
Pssssssst! Hey, Josie, seems you’re always sitting on the floor these days!
oopsie. Here’s the link to that pic:
http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l347/beebeepix/David%20Archuleta/laugh.jpg
#74 lulu…I was encouraged to read #28 Juliebug’s post that David reported that he had fun on the photo shoot and that he doesn’t mind the cameras any more. Got to agree with you on those eyes!!!
beebee, amazing, amazing post! Well said.
I love how he laughs with such abandon.
I call it the “with-every-fiber-of-his-being” laugh.
It’s interesting to think of all the separation anxiety. I really don’t think that will hit me until September or so, too. It has been just a wonderful experience to watch David flourish on stage in front of a live audience. I was reading an article about how sometimes AI tours are such a “bubble” of an experience and the singers really have to prove themselves out in the “real world” later on. I started to worry a little bit. But, David has a truly musical soul, he needs music in his life, there is no other way for him to be. So after thinking about that, my worry dissipated and I am so excited to see what he will be doing with his career and I know he will be just fine, well better than fine actually, he will SOAR!
PS -- I meant to write Leibovitz. She had an American Music exhibit in Detroit I looked up. Some really beautiful pictures. I am sure one day they will meet.
beebee#76, great post! I’m getting chills just conjuring up what Lebowitz woud do with David. *fans self.*
I agree it’s wonderful pleasure just watching David drink up all this attention. I’ve noticed quite a number of fans on other sites who’ve made signatures out of the sofa picture (while this image gives them fantasies about lying down next to him, the only fantasy I have in mind is going to get a blanket to throw over him before he drifts off to sleep! Ha!)
It’s all good. I look forward to what else he’s got in store (which I’m sure we still haven’t seen his best!).
Hey BEEBS! I knew what that picture was from you before I clicked on it -- hugs and
*THUD* you’re it!
#77 beebee, Thanks for the link to the “laughing with every fiber of his being” photo. I love this guy! The joy just spills out of him. My favorite photo that I have on my desktop (not as a screensaver, however) is one of him listening to “Crush” for the first time. Again, pure joy! I suddenly have the chance to see the AI show a 3rd time, in Lexington. I can’t wait!
Josie, yo*thud*
davidfanLiz, I love sharing that photo. And notice at the lower right of the photo. “TILT” (hee hee)
TILT! Love it!
#74/lulu: Just logged on again and noticed your post…we live in the ever changing, ever growing town of Clayton…we used to live in Raleigh many years ago, but moved away and spent some time in Florida. When we returned, we settled on Clayton because my daughter lives here (Grandbaby on the way at the time)…so it seemed like the sensible move for us…I love Clayton (cheaper to live here too)…wanted to let you guys know that my son called me from Miami a little while ago and wanted to tell me that he had just heard Crush on the radio! He said it been so heavily requested that they were playing it up like “so many minutes until we play David Archuleta’s new song Crush”…isn’t that exciting?! I haven’t heard it here in the Raleigh area because the stations that would play it also play (excuse my french, crap)….Lulu, have you heard it on the radio here in this area?
..Looks like everyone went to bed early tonight…if you’re still logged in, go back up to the picture posted at #3/Janey….I challenge you to look at it closely. I sware I feel like he’s looking right at (or through me) whatever the case may be….those eyes! No wonder Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber (sp?) encouraged him to keep his eyes open all the time..
ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY GORGEOUS IN EVERY WAY!!!
marylee, i’m still up (nightowl here) I know i won’t be able to sleep tonight at all, I am so wound up and excited for tomorrow night. Yeah, I like that pic. too, but still my fav’s are the one at the top here, and the #20 referral by Rascal. I just love the serious looks; he is so mature in these. well, we had wicked thunderstorms here tonight; and so help me God they are supposed to linger around here tomorrow too. Of course, I’m thinking “what if they loose power at the XL Center in Hartford tomorrow night at precisely 7:00?” I will freak out, big time if anything goes wrong. you know, Murphy’s Law and all that. Well, I’ll be like David and look at the glass as half full right now. Well, sweet dreams and have a good night. I feel like a little kid on Xmas Eve!!
Hi Ladies,
I can sense from the comments that David Archuleta has undeniably effected your lives. It has been said over and over again that David has healed, inspired and uplifted people with his songs, character and good look. The list goes on.
In this thread, we have close to a hundred comments by just raving on how good looking and photogenic David is. But have anyone complimented how radiant and happy you look recently? I have plenty from friends I met recently in gym, market places, at social functions.
They always look surprise and it will be “Hey, what have you done to yourself, you look radiant and happy, did you strike a lottery?” and I would unbashfully say ” I am in love, and it is David Archuleta!” Don’t get me wrong, ladies and gentlemen, I am a grandmother.
chickee, I wish you a fabulous experience for your AI show. (My special night is the 16th!!!! I can’t wait!)
Diana, Good grief, the power of this young man! His joy and love have transformed the lives of so many people. I know that he has melted my heart.
Diana,
Don’t forget to include the guys!! There’s plenty of love to go around.
Diana, I too am of grandma age (just not yet!). I just got back from a family reunion, and almost all my family mentioned how “good” I looked! They wanted to know what I had been doing different? I also said “it was love”! I didn’t go into any detail, but wow, the fact that it was noticed in my looks just goes to show…the “power of David”! I love Crush. For now, it is what he wants to sing. I can’t wait to enjoy the ride as he grows in musicality and personality! I am sure I will continue to love and adore this wonderful young man.
I know I’m a little late here but wanted to throw something out. I had to leave earlier so didn’t post then.
My other favorite ‘with-every-fiber-of-my-being laugh’ photo of David’s is the one he shot with Brooke at the Ford commercial by the dam when they were throwing out paint and dancing. (I have the picture saved but can’t find a photobucket or other address to post. Sorry.) I love the five part picture with the green background. He and Brooke are back to back to start with, then he bumps up against her with his arm (maybe gets paint on her). She originally looks less than pleased but ends up laughing with him. They’ve broken a short video up into five shots and in the third photo, he throws his head back and just howls in glee.
David just seems so much more ALIVE than most of us. He’s SO focused. He puts his whole soul into his songs, he works like crazy on music and school, he is SO kind and goodhearted, laughs with such abandon, really pays attention when he speaks with you, etc. He’s so HERE and NOW. He makes me feel half asleep in comparison. Like I’m frittering away a lot of my time/life. The joy I feel has definitely increased in intensity since I found him. That’s a real plus. Now, I just have to find focus and a path and emulate the Archulator.
Ooooo, I’m back to learning life lessons from a 17 year old. (She shakes her head.) I guess it doesn’t matter where the wisdom comes from as long as I pick up the ball and run. That’s the challenge. Regardless of how I do on it, though, I must say that I am blown away by David on so many levels. I do truly love this kid.
Goll, all I planned on mentioning was the cool picture. Where did all the rest this come from? Hmmm…
Oops. I forgot to mention how strong his faith is, how firm his integrity. Major omission, so I had to straighten that out right away.
It’s late. My brain is asleep even if the rest of me is upright and typing. I’d better turn in. ‘Night all. David will be serenading me off to sleep with Crush. Sigh. I predict sweet dreams…
#91/Chickee: It’s Friday and I just discovered your post from last night…Bite your tongue when you even THINK the power might go out at the concert hall!!….it’s never going to happen, so put that out of your mind! I can just imagine how excited you are right now and I’m feeling the excitement right along with you…just relax and take in the whole wonderful experience. You might as well scream right along with all the others..otherwise you won’t be able to hear him anyway. You know what they say…his voice resonates beyond all the screaming so don’t worry about that! Have a great time and be sure to tell him that Marylee from North Carolina adores him and loves his new song, which I have listening to this morning…over & over & over (you get the picture). Have a fantastic experience, my friend and let us know all the details when you have time….
OMG….DREAMER AND MARYLEE YOUR COMMENTS MADE ME CRY AGAIN. BOTH OF YOU HAVE TOUCHED ON EVERYTHING I SAY TO MYSELF EVERYDAY. I’VE BEEN TOLD BY MANY THAT I TOO NEED INTERVENTION OR THAT I’M A PEDOPHILE. SO TO BE ABLE TO TALK WITH PEOPLE WHO FEEL THE SAME AS I DO IS SUCH A RELIEF. BLESS YOU ALL. THE PICTURES OF DAVID ARE AMAZING HE IS SUCH A HANDSOME KID. HE IS NOT ONLY BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE BUT IS THE SAME ON THE INSIDE. I MARVEL EVERYDAY ABOUT DAVID’S ABILITY TO BRING ADULTS TO TEARS AND TO WATCH ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS HE DOES FOR PEOPLE DAILY. HE TOUCHES YOUR SOUL WITH HIS EXTRAORDINARY VOICE AND YOUR HEART WITH HIS CHILDLIKE MANNERISMS. IT’S HARD TO IMAGINE HIM FALLING FOR ANYONE IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS, BUT WHEN HE DOES THE YOUNG LADY WILL HAVE TO BE PRETTY DARN SPECIAL THAT ALL I CAN SAY. I JUST LOVE LOVE THIS KID. I TOO SIT EVERYDAY AT WORK AND AT HOME SEARCHING FOR UPDATED NEWS ON DAVID, EVEN WATCH ALL THE YOU TUBE FILMS OF WHEN HE WAS ON AMERICAN IDOL OVER AND OVER AGAIN. CAN’T SEEM TO GET ENOUGH …….I’M NO LONGER A SPRING CHICKEN, BUT I COULDN’T HELP MYSELF I HAD TO BUY A TICKET TO THE CONCERT HERE IN ATLANTA ON AUGUST 18TH. I’M A LITTLE EMBARRASSED TO ASK THIS, BUT I’D LOVE TO HAVE DAVID SIGN THIS SHIRT I MADE FOR THE CONCERT DO YOU THINK I WOULD LOOK RIDICULOUS STANDING IN LINE WITH ALL THE SCREAMING TEENAGERS? HELP………………..
#99 slvrfox….. I’m right in there with you!!! 58 so no spring chicken and going to the Atlanta concert! Go for it!
#99/silverfox: I would be very upset with you if you DIDN’T get that shirt signed…and while you are at it, give him a great big group hug from all his fans here at notingdavid!
Slvrfox, make sure you stand in that line with all the teens and get your time with David; you earned it. I am sitting here trying to type through my tears, cause all of you have touched my heart so deeply this morning. Thank you DavidfanLiz; and Marylee you “raised me up” once again. Thanks so much for your kind words.
oops, i had to start a new post. Diana, I can relate to the glowing experience you’ve had lately. I noticed I am more polite to people also, smile more, etc. If someone were to tell me 10 years ago that a 17 year old boy would be influencing me to be a better person, I never would have believed them. But it’s so true. David is just what the world needs now.
Yes, I remember the Ford commercial where David does a little dancing with Brooke. I have every single moment of AI season on my DVR. and they’re never gonna’ get deleted, so help me!! I think I’ll go watch it right now, counting down the hours till 7:00.
WHERE DID YOU GO BIG SKY??????????????????? Miss your insight!!!!
