Really I have nothing earth shattering to add. You all are so articulate and spot on when it comes to David. Just want to say that I am enjoying this incredible ride that I embarked upon in February to the utmost. This journey is like a new book which keeps you enthralled as each new chapter unfolds, with the main character growing in depth and loveability as we share his triumphs and trials. And, make no mistake David has grown by leaps and bounds. Gone is the shy, tongue tied youngster that I was first introduced to. Now we have a budding diplomat in our presence. I look forward to each of his blogs and note the ease with which he is now handling himself. I've signed up for life and will continue to marvel at the many facets of David along with the rest of you.

Gosh, I wish I were able to make it thru all these beautiful posts ~ so little time right now ~ my husband has been in the hospital for 2 weeks, and we're looking at maybe 6 weeks Rehab right now ~ so I've been getting my David fixes whenever I can ~ and it's usually right here on this site! Thank you so much to each one of you for being a part of this great David Family of Fans! Many videos have been shared here, but I guess the one that keeps me going the most is this one from Hollywood week, with the sweet lady crying in the background (who obviously has ODD like us) ~ one of his voice coaches from AI ~ LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video of David:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS3RRQ33JPg&NR=1

I will be popping in whenever I can ~ even tho hubby is in the hospital, I will never forget David! And I know he will never forget us either! :)

Hi, rascal.

I'm new here sending my comment to your wonderful blog. I've been a lurker for a few weeks now, having discovered it through a link at DavidArchuletaFanblast. I find it delightful to read as the people here relate to each other with so much respect and yet are so comfortable with one another that meaningful friendships are formed by the mere meeting of minds and understanding of shared emotional awakenings. Even if we are communicating through cyberspace, it is definitely a good feeling to find so many kindred spirits from across the globe and knowing that I am not alone in experiencing this unusual, out-of-the-normal state of being inexplicably drawn to everything that has to do with David Archuleta, which we fondly call ODD.

I will not venture to go into how I contracted this ODD 'virus' brought about by David (for which no anti-virus should be found), as my story is akin to most of what I have read here and in other fansites. I would actually encourage that this 'virus' be spread like an epidemic as it would cause the world to change for a whole lot better, and David would have fulfilled his mission in "waiting for the world to change". I am pretty impressed with the amount of support David has been getting from his fanatic fans, and the unbelievable amount of positivity being exchanged between both ends. It just goes to show the truth to the saying that 'you reap what you sow'. David has planted the good seed in the way that he has taken unusual care of his relationship with his fans. He is reaping the rewards a thousandfold and, soon enough, a millionfold. It is also a good study of cause and effect, and of attracting good karma.

I am also in awe of the unusual combination of David's musical prodigiousness (is that the right word?) and his immense likeability. In history, true artistic prodigies like him are not known to be charming and personable. They are often withdrawn and unsociable, very focused on their artform and receive adulation so much later in life, even posthumously. Even if they are admired in their lifetime, there is such strife and unhappiness which seem to go hand in hand with being exceptional and extremely gifted. I hope this will not be the case with David, that he will not lose his innate sense of being happy, his humility and state of wonderment at all the heapings of praise and admiration being bestowed on him. I wish him that so much.

Cutter12, thank you for sharing that beautiful quote from Marianne Williamson. It fits David to a T! Ah, David, he forces us to become better people all around, doesn't he?

Like you, Silverfoxe, I find myself trying to do better too. I still need to work on living healthier, but I do know I've consciously tried to stop swearing! :)

So many subjects that I want to hit upon. First, I loved the Radio Disney interview. Luckily, I heard the edited version since I had to work during the actual program. I came away feeling like the DJ was very impressed with David Archuleta.

Though I am not a fan of Constantine Maroulis, I always felt he was such an "oily" character, I've come to feel rather sorry for him. During that infamous interview when he called David a punk, I could tell that the DJs were baiting him, and, unlike David, he fell right into their trap. After a few weeks, and I'm sure, alot of flak, he wrote in his blog, that he thinks David will be very successful. I believe this man is the exact opposite of David. Not that I can truly understand what he is like, but he hits me as a man with no solid base, no true sense of self. One that will bend in whatever direction the winds of current popular opinions are blowing. One that yearns for the starshine, but does not understand how to allow the light to shine through him. I find that very sad indeed.

And, I'm finding it very cool reading so many quotes and poems that help explain what we see and feel about David. I'd like to share one that I discovered while watching the movie "Akeelah and the Bee"

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." - Marianne Williamson.

This is one thing I feel David has given to me. I am again, willing to reach higher, dream bigger and believe stronger than I have done in a very long time.

And #53- Debra-5354, I remember that saying from my childhood! Though out west, it was Goodnight, sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite! So with that, goodnight everybody!

rascal, I first read your #31 comment so quickly (that's what happens when you try to get work done and visit notingDavid at the same time), I had to go back. Your comment "...according to insiders, the differential between the Davids was only ever as high as about 3%; it would be all but impossible for that to jump to 12%..." is extremely intriguing, and I for one, was always suspicious of that double digit percentage.

lovedavid #54, it's so interesting that a 17-year old can be my role model but he most definitely is. I have posted too before the story you mention about Constantine Maroulis and I keep that in mind too from time to time when I want to react to some jerk out there. We know David is human and he is not perfect, but he exhibits so many admirable traits that it's not enough to just admire him. You just want to be more like him. Among the many little things he's said, these days I remind myself of what he said in the Idol Top 6 behind the scenes interview, answering the question "what keeps you grounded and true to yourself": "I don't know, I just.. be myself I guess, you know, just concentrate on things that matter and just always remember to have a good time with everything and just try to enjoy it all because who knows when this can ever happen again." He may have been referring specifically to his time on Idol, but I try to apply what he said to life in general. If I could carry that out often enough, I might have a smile on my face all the time too like him!
