Angels, wow, just wow. I really love this inspirational song. And David's version is just so amazing. It is not under or overdone, just perfect, al dente. And his voice, yeah his golden voice, so crisp, so clear and pure. God is really good, HE answers my prayer. Angels will be in the album.

My 2 cents about the callers annoying the DJ. Could it be that they are not fans of David. They could be fans of a rival and just posing as fans of David and they want to sabotage the success of David. Could be.

JR, I hear you. It's still about power play, and they are lucky anybody even listens to radio (which I only listen to when I drive to and from work).

If it weren't for the Internet or iTunes, I'd still be waiting forever just to hear "Crush" play on my radio. But, I know better than to get caught up in requesting anything from a media market that's not all that relevant in our high tech, global information age. Seems to me they should be grateful anyone is bothering to ask anything of them, that's all I'm saying.

Silverfoxe – You are so right! Live in the NOW. Savor every moment of David's journey that we can as it happens. How did we get to be so lucky?

Your post reminds me of the popular book by Eckhart Tolle, “The Power of Now” which is basically a restatement of Buddhist principles of life and expounds that our use of time has a practical aspect, that most people are lost in time and are only peripherally aware of the present moment, or the "Now.” Tolle says when we make the present moment a means to an end for future fulfillment, we become unconscious to the NOW. In this unconscious mind-state, we are easily controlled, and live in fear.

David certainly lives in the NOW!

Morning...I guess I'm one of the lucky ones..I hear CRUSH several times a day..at least once on WDJX 99.7 in the AM and the on the way home on KISS 98.9, then I change over to WDJX & hear it there too. And yesterday on the way home, someone called in to the WDJX request line & requested CRUSH..The DJ asked her if she knew when his album drops, she said didn't even know who sang it, she just liked the song!! haha! SO I, being the BUSYBODY that I am, called the station (yes, while driving..sorry, I had to!!) and told the DJ David's album comes out on 11/11..WOO-HOO and it's AWESOME and everyone is going to LOVE IT!! He played my OTT plug for David's album so everyone who was listening heard it!! The rest of my drive home was very enjoyable, needless to say. I also heard CRUSH a while back on one of our HIP HOP Urban stations, but I don't know which one..that was a BIG surprise though!
I was going to post about this when I got home, but the "air" here lately has been on the "down" side and I was very happy with myself..so I let it go.

I know there are so many serious issues going on in our country now..very important decisions we all of voting age SHOULD make soon..There are so many negatives versus positives..and I just don't want to link David with anything negative..He is the most positive force in my life right now. He brings me joy when I see him doing what he was meant to do. I want to concentrate on the the good things about David, his positive energy , the happy
David. I'm just not going to worry about what questions he's asked or whether he will sell more albums than whoever else..I will continue to support David in the only way I know..I will buy his music, I will continue to tell people about his music who don't know about him,
without the gushing ( I only do that here ). I will watch every TV & radio program he's on, read every positive article about him. And, BTW, I hope he continues to do as many interviews & TV shows as possible even if they keep asking the same questions..David is smart enough to know those same questions will be asked over & over..and if he's ok with it, then so am I. I really don't think he obsessess' over it, so why do we??
Have a great day everyone!

HG & InspiredByDavid I understand your sentiments but 3 impt distinctions that this "warning" from DJs we should take note of:

1. Source of request -- from what I understand, they are reacting to athose fans who are not from their respective local area.

2. Manner by which requests are made -- I have heard of one recorded conversation on-air between an Archie & a DJ which revealed that there are a # of fans who would request every 5 or 10 minutes for Crush. It was a coincidence that this Archie sounded the same as the persistent fan. She stood her ground very nicely & politely, simply saying she wasn't that person the DJ was referring to. In the end, the DJ was man enuff to apologize on-air.

It is the every 5 or10minute request by the same person that is garting to them, not the # of requests.

3. The hate messages the DJ get for whatever reason. Am reminded of a saying that "It is easier to attract ants with honey, than vinegar" or something to that effect. Hate mails, texts never help.

Perhaps some fans are more rabid than others. Perhaps others are better equipped in the communication dept. Perhaps the rivalry between the Davids is still alive with some fans. (Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps!) Many reasons.

But what is clear to me in your system (am from Manila, so pls correct me if am wrong) is that for any upcoming talent, the radio stations do have the power to make or break a career.

What am not clear though is in this era of online radio links, why can't a request - outside the local area be valid? This works well in Manila because of the millions of Filipinos scattered around the world so such are entertained by our radio stations.

Me, I just don't want our community to share the same reputation as the Claymates & hurt David's career on its track.

Unless all of us are as brilliant as SILVER in blasting crush from her car while cruising the fan lines waiting for the Idols :) it is possible for David's record not to hit the airwaves.

I believe FOD & snarkies posted some sort of protocol for making requests.

Inspired By David: From my reading over at IDF it seems that Program Directors control the play list even though we request a song it doesn't mean the DJ automatically plays it. Also, Jive has a role out plan for Crush in differently market places building up to the album release to strategically place Crush spins at it most powerful position. Also, at individual radio stations, like all workplaces, I am sure there is a culture, a hierarchy and personalities that factor in.

Still, it is frustrating to not here a song requested, played.

You know my notingdavid friends, this just makes me so mad...radio stations take requests for songs and it shows them what artists are popular and what songs people want to hear, and they say they will hurt David's career if we don't stop calling...huh...what...dont get it at all! If stations would put "Crush" on rotation and people could hear it on a regular basis, they would stop calling!! I called for the first time, and only time the other night, and was very nice and requested to hear "Crush". All they wanted to talk about was how Lindsey Lohan had a new line of leggings to wear, and asked me if I wore them. I waited for an hour and they never played the song. I listen just about every day and have only heard them play it ONE time. They play other songs over and over and over. I get so frustrated because when I turn on the radio I hear the same songs again and again. It's like they will play songs that are NOT requested as much and then NOT play a song that is requested. What is up with that? I do not understand. I am so confused!!
