I felt the Thanksgiving spirit a bit early and posted this before. I am reposting it here since it is relevant. I discovered David last May and it’s been a wild and fabulous ride. David and his music mean so much to me, as do the friends I have met along the way.
Love to you all!
I am thankful for my friends who are near and for my friends who are far away, but close to my heart.
I am thankful for my sweet children.
I am thankful that David and his music are part of my life. I am thankful for the friends I have met through David.
I am thankful for notingDavid which provides connection and laughter.
I am thankful to rascal for his eloquence, his perseverance and his humor.
I am thankful that my life has been changed by David, that I am on a new and beautiful path. I am truly blessed.

The family of notingdavid has blessed me in ways that I find difficult to express openly, but I want you to know the love and joy I feel in my heart being a part of this family. I was at Macy’s parade web site and they have the parade lineup listed -- I thought you might like to take a look -- it is a fun site. From what I could tell, it looks like David’s float is at the end of the floats, but that could change so don’t count on that info. I wouldn’t want anyone missing him!

I am thankful for 2008, the year I discovered David Archuleta, the year I discovered and found an e-home (with lots of e-friends!) at Noting David. I am thankful that I got my tenure at the start of the new school year. I am thankful for friendship. I am thankful for family. I am thankful for music. I am thankful for upcoming concerts (Yay!). I am thankful for Obama’s presidential election. I am thankful for America’s optimism.
I am sooo thankful for all of you. BTW, TOfan, that Barriers video is hilarious!

Sf ~ so ironic I find out about you tonight ..when just last night I had my own parking lot moment…I was picking my son up from a gathering and the parking lot was packed….cars everywhere…coming ang going I had THE CD playing rather loud but windows closed….when I saw him come out I noticed he did not see me, so I opened the window to wave to him…and treated the entire parking lot to some amazing music !!..He told me he did not see me at first but heard THE MUSIC and knew exactly where it was coming from…..he thought it was funny..So I told him he has a CRA-ZEH MOM with really good taste in music….He was OK with it…he is a fan as well!!……….and today I find out about our beloved silverfox !!!

At the ripe old age of 17, Archuleta tells us “the holidays are a time to look back at all the things you have and appreciate them — like family.”
Since he won’t be at his grandmother’s house eating the bizarrely named “funeral potatoes” — his favorite turkey accourtrement — he might have to swing by the turkey dinner before the parade.
As for the spectacle itself? “When I was younger I would watch the parade, but the only thing I remember are the balloons and the floats. I hate to admit this cuz it’s so un-American, but it’s been YEARS since I last watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade..But this year, I’m really looking forward to it…I know my kids will think I’ve really gone off the deep end ( or ledge ) when I tell them I’m watching the parade!! Haha! They’ll understand though, when they see David!
djb..You know I would in a minute if I could go to the Albany concert! But there is no way! The arrangements are already made for the Houston Jam..Flying from KY to Houston, & my sis from NM to Houston, on 12/6 for the concert on 12/7, then flying home on 12/8. The Albany concert is a couple days later. Buh-lieve me, I would if I could!
Maybe it’s a good thing though..who knows what kinds of trouble I would get ya’ll into!.hahaha!

David’s music seems to bring about just the opposite — collateral joy — new friendships formed, creativity sparked, altruism revived, families reconnecting, renewed passion for music, and many other personal journeys and new beginnings. Blows my mind, it really does. Thank you, David.

Hi All -- Yes, I as well have so much to be thankful for. Most importantly my family, friends, health, freedom and so much more.
Juliebug -- Happy birthday, I have one coming up too -- the day after Thanksgiving. It’s a big… birthday for me, one that comes along every 10 years and has a “0″ at the end of it. It’s a bit scary but it only reminds me of how important it is to enjoy every single moment and live each day to its fullest.
BTW -- about the Albany concert. I am lucky enough to be going as well. My husband is a saint and agreed to go with me even though he is not an ODDer. We’re coming from NYC and it’s about a 3 hour drive. Does anyone know much about the venue? I know it’s general admission and it is small, but I heard there are no seats. There’s basically only standing room -- has anyone heard if this is true? I haven’t broke this news to my husband and I don’t know how well it will go over..LOL

My hubby (anti ODD) heard TMH playing and commented “who’s singing that? It’s really good.” Had to stop, stare & SMILE. Can’t remember who said it but David is winning em over one song at a time. Love it!

realmusiclover, from the last thread, thank you for the info on the interviewer of the pre-show/rehearsal interview. When he said “You realize that some of those big stars are going to come up to you and say ‘We really love you, David”, it did sound to me as if he was letting him know something, that David is respected by some of his “peers”. Knowing now that he is well known and liked in the industry, it is even more special to know that he seemed to know David and his music, unlike quite a few of the interviewers who’ve spoken to David to date.
BTW, from now, everytime we see you here, I’m going to have this mental image of you sitting in a noisy sports bar, sipping your brew, and typing away. Haha!

I always enjoy your music reviews on NPR, but in the case of David Archuleta it seems you may have fallen victim to a set of assumptions about American Idol “rejects” with which, in any other case, you would find broad agreement, even--and perhaps especially--from a group of Archuleta fans that represent far more discernment and diversity than the presumptive tween girl demographic cited by a typically lazy and shallow press.
David happens to be seen by real musicians as a real musician, someone whose prodigal talents were both discovered and hampered by the commercial machine that is American Idol and its associated divisions (in his current album release, David is still very much under the influence of this juggernaut). In contrast to most other cases, this is not, in fact, an issue of modest talent being buoyed by remarkable production but indeed the reverse. Those of us who feel a certain insight into David’s capabilities find this album to be quite limiting.
A good example of the possibilities--and, ironically, the failure of the label to either recognize or promote them--occurs in a song that was relegated to the obscurity of an iTunes album pre-order incentive. It is by no means a terribly consequential piece of music, but it suggests much more effectively than most of the other album cuts where David’s abilities really lie. He also co-wrote the song.

After looking at that video on You Tube, I realized that just because the venue only holds about 1,000 people, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s an intimate setting. Oh well, anything to hear David live -- I’m wondering what my husband will ask for in payback for taking me to this concert -- which he has no desire to go to…..LOL

I have also done my bit here in my parts, to local DJs who in all probability are in the dark wrt the bonus tracks, particularly SOT. I think that is something us fans should be endeavoring, to bring attention to the best effort done in this album.

I gaze at this picture, however, and feel a time when the other David’s of the world will still be forced to carry their double moniker to distinguish themselves from the masses, but for our unpinchable (I promise it’s a word now) wonder man/child, DAVID will say it all. Signed the petition TOfan, though I don’t see the bonus tracks being available separately for a while. The whole point of them is to compel people to buy the album 2, or 3 times… Maybe later, after Jive’s agreements not to release them separately with Walmart, iTunes, and Amazon expire?
“Somebody Out There”, however, is another matter. Keeping it unavailable does not boost any album sales whatsoever. There’s probably an agreement with iTunes to not sell it in order to make people think it truly was “exclusive” to those who preordered through iTunes, but I find it hard to believe that such an agreement would last forever, if it exists at all.

I thought you might enjoy this story that happened to a friend of mine.
She was shopping with her grandchildren (tweens) and one was buying David’s CD at a store where they were giving a poster with the CD. When my friend saw it she said, “Where did you get that poster? My friend LOVES David and I need one of those posters for her!!!”
Her granddaughter looked at her with a puzzled expression and asked her Gram “How OLD is your friend?”
My friend said to her, “NEVER MIND HOW OLD SHE IS -- I NEED A POSTER FOR HER!”
She did get me a poster:)
Also, many years ago I took a Dale Carnegie course and a lot of David’s interaction with people reminds me of one of the lessons I learned that David does so naturally. I found this quote that pretty much sums it up:

I recently chatted with Archuleta and Robin Hall, executive director of the parade, about what folks can expect on Thursday, what Archuleta thinks of “American Idol” champ David Cook, and whether he’ll be doing a duet with … Kermit the Frog?
Victor Balta: Right off the top, Robin, could you talk a bit about getting David Archuleta for this year’s parade and some of the other folks people can expect to see Thursday morning?
Robin Hall: We have 10 great marching bands, we have a whole bunch of performing groups, and we have some of the hottest talent in America. We also have some of the great classic talents — everybody from Andy Williams to James Taylor. David Archuleta, Miley Cyrus, Trace Adkins is in the parade this year, Kermit the Frog is going to be making an appearance in this year’s parade. We have a long relationship with “American Idol” and we’re very proud to continue with David.
VB: David, tell us about being a part of all this. Did you watch the parade as a kid?
David Archuleta: Yeah, it’s really fun to be a part of it because it is something I grew up watching and trying to remember to be up on time to see the whole thing. And it’s just crazy to think you’re going to be in it after watching it for so long. It’s just a really cool thing that families come to watch together and really enjoy.
VB: What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions?
DA: We watch the parade and we usually just went to my grandparents’ house to have Thanksgiving dinner with the whole family and have the turkey and the mashed potatoes and really just spend quality time together. I think that’s a really important part of this.
VB: So, being in New York this year, what are you going to try to do to maintain some of that family connection?
DA: My mom’s here with me, so I’ll be able to spend time with her for Thanksgiving, but I’m not sure what we’ll be doing. But the parade is a really big thing that we’ve never done before.
RH: He’s going to be making 40 million people happy on Thanksgiving. That’s the gift he’s giving to all of us.
VB: So, David, I know you’ve recently talked about wanting to collaborate with Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift. Any chance of doing something with Kermit the Frog since he’s going to be there?
DA: [Laughs] Ha, Kermit. That’d be a fun one, too. He has that old song, [singing] ‘It’s not that easy being green!’ Yeah, maybe. Who knows?
VB: How has maintaining your music career after “American Idol” been different for you from being on the show?
DA: It’s been pretty hectic, you know, a lot’s been going on. It has really stopped since the beginning of this year, with the beginning of the show. But it’s really been a blessing to have so much going on, and to have an album coming out and being able to perform in things like the Macy’s parade. It’s huge. Things I never thought I’d have a chance to be able to do and here they are, coming to life, the things I used to dream about.
VB: So, it looks like you might have edged out David Cook in sales of your debut album. Did you guys have a little side bet going or anything like that?
DA: No, not really. I think it’s been made out to be like we were in a competition, but we were never really competitive with each other. We’ve just been really supportive of each other and he has a great album that’s out right now and he’s always checking on me and making sure things are going well and he’s always there whenever I need his help. He’s always been like a big brother and it’s really cool to have someone like that who’s there and understand what you’ve gone through and to be able to share that with someone like him.”
I am happy to have found this site and have been reading and looking for a few days…great to get the news on David. I am looking forward to his first big big hit that will be all David…I know from watching the AMA that there must be a big buzz about him…

Caught David in a short interview with Al Roker this morning. David looked nice in a sky blue parka(unzipped) with a greenish blue sweater, knit hat and matching scarf. Asked if this was his first parade, he had to pause and then mentioned he was in one in Honduras. BUT , of course the question was referring to Macy’s Day Parade. LOL He recovered and said “Oh Yes!” The he practiced waving with Al Roker. He looked very relaxed and ready to sing his song when the time comes. Archudorable as ever!

Yes, wearing grays and blues, a parka and hoodie, knit cap that looked like it was itchy!! and the scarf!! The interviewer asked about his inspiration for “Imagine” and David said he wanted to show everyone the “magic” that he feels in a song. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahh.

The AOL Sessions video performances are beyond amazing! You always know when a singer is the “real deal” when they sound just as good or BETTER in their live performances like he does.
I read somewhere that David’s pitch is so perfect that he lands on the “center” of every note without having to climb there. These performances are a perfect example of his vocal skills.

When he sings “face” near the end of TMH, that note he holds (and holds and holds) at 3:13 is absolutely incredible. Actually, the entire performance is incredible.
I just went back and listened to them all again, and I’ve gotta say that he takes his voice all over the map and back on “My Hands”…..CRAZY……CRAZY HOT!….and he does it with such ease….he just stuns me with his vocal abilities.
I mean, seriously, can you think of one contemporary male artist that has the mad vocal skills that David does??? He just blows my mind…AND HE’S 17!!!!!!

I was watching Jessie McCartnery perform during one of the football games today. He’s cute and all, but vocally has nowhere near the vocal prowess that David does.
Only one complaint..not about David..about the cameraman..when David hit the falsetto on ALTNOY, the camera was on the GUITARS and should have been on DAVID!! That falsetto note is when I went CRA-ZEH over ALTNOY when I first heard the snippets! And to see David hit that note would have sent me into a tailspin..oh yeah!! I’d be daid, daid, daid!

I am once again amazed. These aol sessions are really David at his finest. The band does a good job harmonizing as well. And they must have been together such a short time then.

1. Watched AOL sessions for two hours last night. Couldn’t stop. How does he do that?
2. I got up at 5 so I could hit a couple of Black Friday sales events. It is 6:40 and I’ve had the AOL sessions going since about 5:15. I can’t stop. Help?

4. My husband watched the telecast of David lip-synching “Crush” yesterday in Times Square and had it stuck in his head all day. I can see why “Crush” AND the album leaped up on iTunes yesterday.
5. I need to go shop. Thank heaven for my CD and my CD player! I am obsessive about my “David Archuleta” album. Have 3 copies so I can have one available in the car, in the family room and in my office. Now I feel that I need an extra computer so can access those AOL sessions whenver I want.
6. David, how do you do that?
In those AOL Sessions, I wonder if that is the same “human puppy dog David Archuleta” whose “modest talents” Ken Tucker referred to in his NPR review of “Crush.”

Have we all recovered as yet from those AOL sessions?
There was probably a reason they were a bit delayed -- perhaps they knew collectively that we wouldn’t be able to deal with perfection.
What can I say -- how on earth can someone sound SO PERFECT and even better live? Every note and run was a morsel of perfection in a thanksgiving feast of MASSIVE proportions. Crush was the best I’d heard, TMH, TMH,TMH -- was the first time I truly appreciated this song and its hit possibilities. He was just wonderful in this one. My Hands -- how can you harmonize so perfectly with syncopation with a live band? and adlibbed runs -OMG. ALTNOY -- vocal homerun -- that BRIDGE? -thud. FInally YOU CAN -- after being on the verge of passing out -- this one finishes you off completely. He made his voice so pure and light, it literally floated out of his body.
Just to quick compare, I clicked on a DCook session -- what can I say? I had to stop midway through. His voice sounded like white noise next to David’s. He puts so much effort into screaming his top notes that I can see him eventually blowing out his voice if he’s not careful.
What if Jive had simply allowed David to record all his songs this way? I think he would have defeated Taylor Swift and “crushed the competition”.

Ahh, those AOL sessions were just stunning! I’ve listened/watched all of them countless times now and I’m still in awe. And, what is with this version of TMH? Why is this not the album version? The whole song builds to this killer rock crescendo at the end that totally throws my heart out of my chest! Amazingly addictive. I was never a fan of My Hands but with the live sessions, I can appreciate how extremely difficult this song is, and of course, David absolutely nails it! He continues to raise the bar with each performance.
He looked so good in that jacket and tie! SilverFox, I know there’s a special place in your heart for that shiny tour jacket, but I think this one has it beat…at least it sure fits alot better!
The band was amazing as well and they looked like they were really getting into the music. I hope they get introduced to David’s fans soon…they deserve to feel the love!

Truth be told, “Touch My Hand” was not one of my favorite tunes on David’s album, NOT because I didn’t like the song, but because I thought lyrically it came off as being geared towards younger (dare I say teenybopper) fans, however, after seeing him perform it live I have completely changed my mind about this tune!
I don’t know if it’s because David looks so mature performing in front of a mic stand in a suitcoat and tie, or if it’s because of him standing in front of a group of slightly older guys or simply the way he DELIVERS the song vocally but it suddenly seems “older” to me.
At any rate I’m a CONVERT… they SHOULD make a single out of this song!

I wake up this AM to AOL Sessions -- Holy Thunder and Lightening-- a glorious and dramatic rainfall of song.. I think who ever recorded & produced these videos understood that his voice is THE PRIMARY instrument that needs to be featured, highlighted, throughout the whole song.
And the 6 interview videos are pure David, enthusiastic and genuine! He says he is excited to sing the songs differently as he performs them and looks forward to when he can play around with the music and lyrics (his eyes were gleaming!)
I loved what he said about meeting Seal, how he wasn’t real to him, then he met him and a white light was all around him—yeah, David, we know how that feels!

Joner #247, I totally agree about TMH. Although pleasant enough, I found it a little lightweight compared with many of the other tracks on the CD.
But when he filmed these sessions, David thought TMH was going to the next single and he’s such a pro and, as we know, pulls out all the stops when it matters (cut to Finale flashback) and here he delivers TMH as a gut-wrenching show-stopper.
You’re right, THIS version should be the next single (although I love My Hands even more than I did before after watching the live version) …gah…. in awe of this young man… again.

LOTUS/JONER -- that’s what I have been talking about when I was discussing TMH! Its possibilities live -- gah! And I did say it will be smashing live esp with more strings on it .My imagination goes further than what he has done in AOL. Someday soon -- and he said, once he gets comfortable playing the guitar outside the circle of his friends -- he has to sing TMH with him on guitar.
I already have the script and blocking down pat, where he would just let the guitar hang, where he would rip it, including where he would enjoin the audience for some participation -- GAH!

Happy Thanksgiving
Hey Guys! Just wanted to say that I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!! We were in New York this week, and I had a blast! Yesterday was the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and that was really exciting. I was on the Green Dog float, and there were tons and tons and tons of people on the sides. It was pretty chilly too, but I heard that it was a really nice day compared to previous years haha. I bundled and layered up as much as I could though. I sang Crush near the end, and a couple of songs played during our time going down the streets. And there’s a mouse in here. Sorry I know that was random, but I can hear it wandering around and it keeps squeaking. I didn’t think there would be mice here but I guess there are… But anyway. Some kids from the PBS show Fetch were on my float too, and they were really nice kids. I also got to meet a bunch of other people who were in the parade, and it was really great getting to meet and talk with them. Miranda Cosgrove from iCarly was there too, and it was really cool to see and talk to her again. The sad thing is that I didn’t have my camera or phone with me, so I didn’t get to take my own pictures. Someone that worked there was nice enough to let me borrow their camera though before the parade started and I took pictures on my float, and on the Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends float! I know I’m such a dork but that’s my favorite cartoon lol. I was so excited to see it because it wasn’t too far behind me. But they were going to send me the pictures sometime soon.
The night before Thanksgiving, my mom and I went to see the musical In The Heights, and it was pretty much PHENOMENAL. It is seriously like one of my favorite musicals now. It was great that my mom was able to come to this particular musical too because it’s full of Latin music. So we had a great time with that, and also got to meet some of the cast members from it. I definitely recommend it if you ever get the chance to see it! The cast from the musical was also in the parade and did a number. Oh, the night before we saw the musical, my mom and I watched Twilight. I never read the books but a bunch of my friends are really into it, and the movie’s been getting a bunch of hype so we decided to go see it. I actually really liked it. The weird thing is when we walked into the theater Crush was playing so we walked back out because it was so weird haha. But anyway my blogs always get insanely longer than I intend for them to be, so I’ll end for today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

jr, if there’s any JUSTICE..CRUSH should be in the list of nominations next year, and THE ALBUM and /or songs from THE ALBUM should be as well in 2010! I especially would love for a song penned by David to be nominated.

Just watched the AOL session… it’s too amazing.
I was very excited when I heard ALTNOY and Crush, good performance. I was crazy when I heard My Hands and TMH. I know “My Hands” is a difficult song, and I can’t believe how easily David nailed it, effortless. I love TMH, it’s so much better than the studio version.
You Can is the last song I heard, I can’t help to have tears in my eye… for this voice.
David is a live performer, definitely. I have said, I doubt if I would love the studio version once I heard he sang live…

Watching David’s live performances makes me realize he takes on a whole new persona -- which I love, but it confuses me so.
So I watch one live performance followed by a chaser of an interview, just to keep me sober. HA!
I had a moment of joy watching the AOL sessions that reminded me of that fourth joy listed by rascal in the Ode to Joy post, the joy of sharing in David’s accomplishment.

Josie…YES! you get that confusion too! How can it be? That he can put so much soul and maturity and longing and LOVE into his performances like that of a much more “experienced” performer who has had all the life experiences he sings about..And he doesn’t just sing like it but his expessiveness, the looks, like he’s crying inside for his true love, or his lost love, or the one he wants to love…How does he do that?? How can he FEEL what he’s singing? He makes US feel what he’s feeling too..
He is MAGIC! He is POWER! He is PERFECTION! when he sings, especially live!
Then, he is an otherwise normal 18 year old, or at least what every 18 year old male should be like, IMO. We’ve seen it over & over, this chameleon-like change and it’s stll awe inspiring AND confusing at the same time.
SF-and now that I’ve heard this group of songs live, they’ve taken on a whole new life for me as well.
Awe inspiring -- how succinct.
Everyone who saw David on the AI tour are aware of David’s ability to “change up” songs every time he sings them..that’s one of the unique-ness of David. And I thought I WAS READY for what David could and would do with HIS own songs..but I was totally thrown for a loop when I first saw the sessions..I sat here with my mouth open, just REALLY mesmerized, thinking, can this really be? Am I seeing & hearing right? Is he lipsincing? He is PERFECTION..no other word I can think of to describe the sessions as a whole..just PERFECTION, of THE VOICE, THE LOOK, everything!
And his band..PLEASE stay with David…make this a lifelong relationship..How about “David Archuleta and his band Crush”…or am I being too cra-zeh as usual?
I never thought I’d see myself saying this after two years of billing trauma, but THANK YOU AOL for these sessions! The audio mix is top-notch.
HOWEVER, let me make one complaint on top of the cut-away during David’s high notes in ALTNOY. Why, why, why, oh WHY did the editors cut away to the guitar at the VERY END of “You Can.” We needed to see THOSE EYES at that moment, after his most tenderest of lines!
I feel a little cheated.

David is slowing killin’ me this afternoon. I’m so tired from yesterday, had dinner for 11, just finishing cleaning up, and then I log on today for the first time since Wed. night, and BAM!!!! Where to begin? Honestly, I don’t know……..first of all, is that REALLY the first time David sang all these songs live? You’d think he sang them with his NEW band at least a hundred times already, they jive so well together, the harmony, the percussion, etc. etc. Blown away doesn’t begin to describe it. Second, in the interviews, did anyone notice how composed he was? When he gets nervous, he usually laughs a bit, but there wasn’t much of that goin’ on. and then of course THE NEW LOOK!!! OMG, this is IT! the hair, the shirt/tie (loosened), the JACKET! oh yeah!!! Always loved all the jackets he wore during AI, and still do..
Then, love his smile more than breathing, but those pensive pix are killin’ me.

I heard early on that the band is only contracted through the Jingle Balls to see how things gel before making anything permanent…I really hope they stick around. My favorite Dang-Its are the keyboard player with dreads and the spiky-haired guitarist who sings alot of backing vocals. But all the Dang-Its are great, dang it!!!!!!
LittleMushroom that is what some of us @ Mj’s have dubbed them, think we might have stolen it from an IDF poster, but there is so much cross pollination it could have come from anywhere. I love the Dang-It’s they kicked some serious booty along with David. It’s time they had a name.
Wanted to thank jackryan for helping fans outside of the US to enjoy Sessions by alerting them to change their pc’s time zone. There are so many fans across the world just so excited about David. The more that have a chance to hear and see him makes me so hopeful for his future.
Watching these Sessions is a revelation to me, it’s as though he’s peeling away the layers and slowly revealing himself and what he can do. Imagine what the next year is going to bring. I also predict that this song will spawn at least three top ten hits, possibly more. Crush or course, ALTNOY which will be bigger than Crush, and TMH, he elevated that song by his artistry into something special. The funny thing is that none of these are my favorites. I can’t wait until I see him sing Barriers, or YEDL, or heaven forbid Works For Me! Anticipation.
Finally, next cd must come with a video, guaranteed to sell at least 20 k more right out of the starting gate. Watching David sing is just as wonderful as hearing him sing.
LM: My favorite Dang-It is also the electric guitarist who sings a lot of back-up, although they are all pretty dang cute.
Sorry, I’m gonna act childish and stamp my foot..I don’t like “dang-its” for the band name..I prefer “The Crush” or “CRUSH”..only cuz it sounds classier than “dang-its” and David is classy and should have a classy name for his band, and if not CRUSH, then something else..so there.

Hey guys..really, whatever they call themselves, I just hope they stay with David…I want David to have a band who will be like his “right arm” so to speak, with whom he can form a lasting, lifelong relationship with, who he can travel from venue to venue with, who will be loyal and always have his back… like we do. That’s what I hope.
I want to get to “know” them and for them to “know” us, his ArchAngels, Angels..all his fans, and why we feel as we do for David. I hope David will introduce them at the Jingle concerts if time permits. They have proved to be perfect for David because of the sessions..who knew??

Actually, the band doesn’t need a name..They can just be David & his band..And like I said, because of how well they compliment David on the sessions, I hope they are all “keepers”. What’s in a name unless it’s David Archuleta, anyway??
Another thing I REALLY, REALLY hope is that for David’s solo concerts next year, they add a piano for David..because I still want to hear him sing ANGELS in concert!

I must say something else. Remember how Cook said ‘jokingly’ in an interview that his back-up career plan might be to play in David’s band? I think he needs to think again! David’s guitarist is fine, thank you very much. He just kills it in ALTNOY. Maybe that’s what the cameraman wanted to show.

I think you are sooo right that including a video with his next CD would indeed increase sales. The emotion David sings with really comes across when watching him.
Someone commented earlier that these were recorded soon after they put together the band and it is just amazing the performances they put together with so little practice time. Blows me away!
Last night I was guilty of endless hours of AOL. Early a.m. (4:30), up for the biggest shopping day of the year! (Why? 3rd year in-a-row I’ve asked myself that) Ha! Ha! Just got back home and HAD TO check out AOL again! Give us a day…no problem with David reaching and maintaining that #1 position. Having really liked TMH from the beginning, I’ve been looking forward to his live version. WOW I am beyond amazed. David finds his way of “telling it to us” in every live version of his songs.
Just got in from spending the day outside putting up Christmas decorations. (It’s an annual “thing” with our neighbors….love it!!!)
Anywho…had to go back to AOL Sessions to see if I was DREAMING what I heard yesterday (and couldn’t get out of my mind while decorating!) and was SOOOOO happy to find out that, yes, David Archuleta is REAL in more ways than one

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I don’t post too much but just wanted to say how much I love David’s AOL Sessions. I’ve watched them about 2O times each. Also, an interesting experiment to do is to just listen to each song without watching the video & compare it in your mind to the song on the album. I kind of like the AOL Sessions better…..David’s voice is more prominent with less production. Anyway he is a great singer with a great talent.

Of course I do that at the AOL site so I would have continuous streaming. But since AOL stops every now and then for reloading, I have it on mute.Then relish the unhampered playing of the same playlist, but files downloaded on my laptop with full volume on. Wo-hoo!

TMH completely surprised me. It was so much more than the album version. I also have to say his band is fantastic! David should be proud for having done such a wonderful job selecting the guys. Oh, so much more I want to say. They were all fantastic. New little twists here and there. David is one of the most amazingly talented artists around. And yes, silverfox, he is only 17???!!!! I can’t wait to go relisten, rewatch over and over again… See you guys…

jr..my wrist is sore from voting on VH1..OUCH!! And I had to go see THE SESSIONS again..And again I am blown away! IMO, the most difficult song to sing is My Hands and David just made it seen effortless. The band was terrific and the backgound vocals by the band were right on. I would love to see David sing the up-tempo songs with a hand-held mic..I love seeing him movin’ & groovin’ to his songs!
Crush is coming in last on the ratings on AOL..but not cuz we don’t love it..it’s cuz it’s not new anymore and the others are..We still want CRUSH to be #1 on VH1 though. But I’m not too hopeful it will be cuz all David’s fans have been sidetracked by THE SESSIONS…not to mention busy with Holiday stuff, to find time to vote.
BTW..In my eyes, David IS 18 years old, especially after his performance on THE SESSIONS..what’s one month..only 30 days, right? So to me David is THE MAN!!

Just had another go at those AOL Sessions -- David’s voice quality is indescribably beautiful. I really enjoyed his profile shots. Apart from his handsome profile -- you can see the the way he sets himself up to either enunciate a word or fix his jaw for optimum vocal production. He really is an accomplished singer. Wait till he starts interacting more with his band.

Well, maybe “easier” isn’t the right word, I dunno, All I know is I keep finding myself at David’s sessions, and every time I go through all the songs, I see or hear some thing new. I’m finding new reasons to love each song more & more each time I listen. David’s deliverance, the feel he has for every word is otherworldly. He gets lost in the music and words and in turn, we do also. He is perfection..THE VOICE and THE FACE. Who can resist his power, his passion? I can’t stop watching..I’m doomed!

Vermeer #46…….Thanks for the comment. I don’t doubt that the serious players in the industry know and respect the immense talent that is DA. One thing about the interviewer, for those who don’t know him. He is definitely an insider in the entertainment industry, having covered the Hollywood scene for so many years.
Got to mention this: I was not a fan of the first five tracks of the album, believing them to be over-produced for the benefit of the bubblegum set. But after watching and hearing David sing in the AOL Sessions I am left with a different and better appreciation of the songs. I have always loved track 6, ‘You Can’, as a very beautiful and lyrical song about his innocence and purity, but this AOL rendition has made me want to cry again. As for the other songs, they sound so much better to me because his voice is allowed to soar above the music, so unlike and so much better than the album’s overproduced sounds. Did you notice the smile that David displayed after finishing ‘Crush’? It was almost beatific; he knew that he had nailed the song, got everything that he could get out of it, produced as much emotion as could be tolerated by anyone who listened to him really deliver it’s sweet message.
Oh yeah, I’m at that sports bar again, enjoying some brewskis and typing and listening to David’s AOL solid performances over the shouts of the crowd watching the Mavericks and the Lakers duke it out at the Staples Center. After watching Miami hand Phoenix its lunch, and after three delicious Hefeweizens, and after listening to David’s Sessions singing, I’m thinking that just maybe, just maybe, what with the new government coming into power on Jan. 20, that I have reason to hope once again, that just maybe we all have something to be truly thankful for this time around.
My best wishes to you and to all of the ND family during this season of thanksgiving for the blessings which we enjoy.
BTW, I had to hold my tears back when listening to ‘You Can’. The fellows in this bar would never let me forget it if they saw me bawlin’ over the kid’s amazing singing.

At the beginning of VH1′s countdown the host claimed there was a new #1 and they showed Cook’s, Britney’s , Altered Bridge(I think that’s what the group is called)
and David’s video. So, I was on pins & needles wondering if Britney finally was able to claim the top spot. I knew it couldn’t be Cook’s because she claimed a new #1, but, would David be claimed as new, since he has already held the #1 position.
So they get to #4 and Britney takes that position, now its just Altered Bridge that I had to watch out for. Did David beat Cook this week or did he slip to third? (no, no, please, please)
Fingers crossed I impatiently wait for WHO is at #3……

When we are born we are 0 months old…When we are 1 we have lived one year already…when David is 18…he will have lived 18 years already…
I hope that you see what I mean…he is more mature then ,many think and the “kid” he is not…then…I have never thought of him that way…How can he be a kid when you watch him sing songs such as WYSYLM??? There is a video on you tube that has nearly 1,000,000 hits and that is the best of David…The smile is a killer at the point near the end where he seems to stop,,,Everyone screams…he smiles and then continues on…the killer moment….maybe that is why there are nearly 1,000,000 hits…
On a more serious note, as I have a feeling Rascal will be coming in with his much awaited feedback on the AOL session (that is unless he is all thudded out all this time!), the latter just proves the following:
1. Less is more — Jive are you listening? See how fiiiine and glorious David sounds when his songs are not peppered with production-what-have-yous & techo tweeks? Leverage the best instrument that your talent has -- THE VOICE, THE VOICE -- and you could never go wrong.
2. A masterclass vocalist live & in-studio — STUNNING, simply jaw dropping. Seems impossible to achieve but he does sound pitch-perfect in these 5 songs with a full range to play around with, in terms of variety in the song selection & in the technical aspect of the music. It is already hard to believe that he was singing most of these songs live for the first time. But that he could surpass the vocal quality of the recorded version stands to reason that he should come up with a Live Album.
One more thing, let me tell you, his songs are not easy to handle. Crush -- he has it down pat. But Crush + ALTNOY & My Hands are punishing in terms of breathing with extended high notes to boot; Where Crush asks for an ethereal quality in its rendition because of the purity of its theme, My Hands & ALTNOY require vocal maturity to lend the depth they require. His new lower registers came in handy here. But both songs have a number of extended high notes as well which David hit with precision. His falsettos and head tones were glorious as he switched from one note to another! NOT easy, gah!
You Can, a deceptively simple song actually requires a measured sensitivity. It is a pretty song (my personal favorite in the basic 12 tracks) and in the hands of some other singer, it could have sounded cheesy . Listening to it w/o looking, he was able to bring out the emotional core of the song but there were segments in the piece where I sensed that he was more conscious of hitting the right notes rather than being authentic. But given his limited experience, this performance is already remarkable. Am sure that given time, he will be able to “let go” to give the likes of You Can the nuance they deserve. Then, it becomes truly transcendent -- in the league of WYSYLM.
With TMH — I rest my case!
Being in the minority in cheering for this song since the beginning, am glad to note of the converts not only from here but from all over! I believed in the possibilities of this piece, especially in the hands of an artist with David’s caliber. he elevated an originally light-weight song into a gloriously magnificent fun piece! Take note of that 6-sec head tone (counter 3:13), flawlessly followed by more vocal gymnastics in the next 30 secs or so -- we’re not worthy! we’re not worthy! Just love it! Now, if David could only get cracking on that guitar so my dreams would have been fulfilled for this song 
3. David has transitioned Since IdolDays, his AOL sessions showed a seamless transit into a matured performer. He just oozed more confidence, more self-assurance here. And very relaxed.
It has been said that “he’s very much attuned to what will work for him…and what will not work for him. He trusts his own instincts and doesn’t get caught up in the hype.” Seen as awkward & naive by some, he is often underestimated. And as someone wise once said, do so at your own peril

4) Kudos to the band -- they sounded great! Fantastic harmonizing with THE VOICE. It was obvious that they were enjoying the sessions
This ones a keeper.
5) Kudos also to the stylist. Dang it! And that’s just about what I have to say about that cos I think I have done enough damage in with my previous posts already. LOL
All in all, David just cemented his stake at the music industry. If there was any doubt as to how he fits in, well his AOL performance just erased those concerns. Not just a fine addition to the talent pool, his likes is actually the much needed shot by the music industry to save it from the manufactured doldrums it is in.

First thing I listened to this AM was TMH on AOL--can’t listen enough! I am so very happy for him…and, yes, I am a true blue junkie of THE VOICE and proud of it!

The AOL sessions have wreaked havoc on my plans to carve into holiday chores — but never has procrastination been so fun.
Have been watching David at AOL session over and over again and again. Gosh, his performance is absolutely incredible! His vocal prowess is breathtakingly stunning. The live versions are better than those on the CD. And he closed his eyes, and he looked shocking sexy and dreamy. Gosh, I am gushing! and I am going back to listen and watch again, I just can’t help myself.

TMH was not my favourite, but now,hmmm, after the AOL sessions, I am falling in love with this song. It sound so different live, it is amazing. David puts so much feelings into this song. My Hands, wow, I am speechless. My, my, I am in a daze and I have been watching since lunch time, and now it is bed time and I am still watching. The magic of David and his fabulous VOICE! Oh, that VOICE, it is a killer.

And about the Jingle Concerts..I’m guessing there’s a new interest in the concerts by David’s fans as well as others who just happened to check out the sessions..Even if THE VOICE only sings 3-4 songs, it’ll be well worth it. My sis & I are going to the Houston Jam too. And if I could, I would go to the Albany Jam. But there’s always the solo concerts that are “in talks”!!

Good morning all! How glorious of a day it is? The sun is shining(cold as heck, though) but, beautiful just the same. So much excitement in “David” world right now! We Archuleta Fanatic Fans did our thing very well. Go us! David is back at #1. Where he belongs. All that Cook thing last week was a fluke from his not so honest fans. But, I won’t go into how I feel about that. Just 1 thing about him though, I have NO desire to check out his session on AOL. I actually fell asleep at the computer last night watching and listening to the most GLORIOUS, GORGEOUS VOICE I have ever been blessed to witness! My Awesome Husband woke me up. I had a big red mark on my forehead! Ha! Ha!
Good morning! I don’t post here much but I do often lurk. I’m wondering if anyone is interested in buying a single ticket for the Jingle Ball in Lowell Ma. on Dec. 11th? I bought three tickets and now one friend can’t go. I paid $125 for the ticket, but I will take less for it. I’d much rather have a David fan take it- I don’t really want to sell it on Craig’s List or somewhere. It’s a good seat.. And on a more serious note, I am LOVING “You Can” and how David looks when he closes his eyes and is in that “special place.” He looks mega-dreamy!
Here’s something I just wrote in the Artist thread:
I was just watching TMH on AOL Sessions right now and it’s interesting that we can now find things that David “adds” to music again, just as we did during the AI days, even though these are his own songs.
Because what he did in the studio — from what we know of the Angels recording process — involved a set of compromises with the producer(s), not to mention that they were recorded so quickly during the AI tour. Now that he’s performing the songs live more, he has more freedom to work out and add his own “Davidisms.”
I liked TMH, but it wasn’t a standout to me on the album. It was catchy as heck, but after a few listens it seemed too repetitive to me.
Well, one reason why I love the AOL Sessions version a lot more is that there’s a LOT more variation. People have pointed out the instrumentation is edgier -- which I like, but not only that because what I like is that there’s buildup between the different choruses, and the last 30 seconds is pure rock drum-banging, wall-of-sound bliss.
But what also hasn’t been pointed out is David’s vocal variations throughout the song. Every now and then he adds an “mmm” or a “woahohh” and feeling the rhythm of the song, and I especially love the soulful last “IIIII’lll never have the chance again” right before the bridge. The whole vocal comes off more soulful, living, and immediate.
It makes me wonder whether he had these ideas in the studio but the producer told him to tone it down to make it more repetitive and mantra-like, so that it would be more “catchy for radio.” Just like how the Angels producer asked David not to include some runs and embellishments in Angels.

I did not think very much of TMH until I listened and watched the AOL sessions, now I love it. ALTNOY has always been my No. 1 favourite on the Album and still is.
Holy Mackerel, I am so mesmerished by David and his VOICE it seems I don’t need to eat and sleep. I have been watching these five performances since lunch time on Saturday and now is the 1st hour of Sunday. Unbelievable! I think I am going crazzzzy.
JR 448 and Ronald 463 I do SO enjoy these insightful comments. David live is instinctive creativity at it’s best. I wonder if it has been that history suggests that what is “catchy for radio” means repetitive lyrics and synthesized music equals success? I can’t for the life of me understand this, and maybe this is why I really don’t enjoy pop music as a whole. Give me subtle nuances and emotive musical creativity any day. It could also be why I have truly enjoyed buying live performance CD over studio ones.
Referring back to Brooklyndawn’s comment that a video of David singing is included on his next CD should be a given! I get tingles listening to David sing, but there is something extra special about watching him sing.

ronaldsf, I too am loving all the little changes in the AOL sessions. We know the songs so well in the studio version, but here they are, in-the-moment, with a high note becoming low, a new twist of melody, a new pause, a mmmm added where it wasn’t before. Lovely lovely surprises.
For example: in the song I am obsessively listening to, My Hands, the band makes great use of SILENCE to build a moment of high energy. I especially love the silence just before it kicks into high gear with the words: “but it’s harder to hold on.” So cool! The added ending with the quiet acoustic guitar and back-up vocals just slays me.
I’ve always thought that the words of this song are just goofy, but watching David sing those words you are suddenly INSIDE that urgency and pain. And then David’s sweet smile when the song ends just leaves me weak. Oh my…

I’m listening to MY HANDS obsessively, too. It’s always been my favourite as I love the quircky lyrics and the way David says ‘control’ and ‘chanel’. I love all the time metaphors in it. Oh, when he says ‘everything that shows time is gone’ he slays me. He does something with his fist and his head that shows great determination. And the ending is great. I see many of these songs being used in films and tv series. Don’t you think?

I am way more comfortable in lurker mode, but I just had to leave my safe place for a few minutes to express a thought or two; either that, or risk an emotional implosion.
I have followed David since serendipitous channel surfing took me to his first pre-audition interview with Ryan Seacrest. Something about David caught me instantly and I had to see how he did in front of the Idol judges. The rest, as they say, is history; and like most of you, I closely follow the blogs, the videos, the news—whatever I can find. David’s music constantly plays, in the house, in my head, and in my car (I cannot pull into a parking lot without thinking of silverfox).
I have now spent hours at AOL in a blissful Archutrance. I am completely gobsmacked by this man-child and what he does (and will do) with his voice. I have never met David or seen him perform live; and the possibility of that happening for me is so remote it literally hurts. When David looks into the camera near the end of ALTNOY to sing “and I really don’t know what to do,” I am convinced he understands how I feel.
NotingDavid is such a lovely place to feed my obsession that I show up every day for a handout. Thank you to rascal and to all of you “rascal regulars” for your comments, your insights, and your highly entertaining pass-the-defibrillator parties. I may sit in the corner and not say much, but I feel at home and among friends.

I was just back at AOL Sessions listening to “My Hands” again. Those harmonies at the end have a James-Taylor-esque sound to them, don’t they? Very nice.
olemr2001 -- Yes. Very James Taylor-ish. I still can’t get over the fact that they had only had 5 rehearsals before this filmed. And it was the first time he’d performed these except for Crush…which was only once before. Amazing!
I just love the harmonies at the end of “My Hands,” too. As someone mentioned above, the sessions reflect how fancy production stuff isn’t needed with David’s music, just the voice and instruments.
Someone said that David must be close to a record on VH1. From what I remember, the record this year is seven weeks. I think this week makes David’s fifth. I would LOVE to see him top artist at VH1 for the year. Forever, actually. haha I’m willing to wear my fingers to the nub making it happen. Anyone else with me on this?

RONALDSF on #462 -- am iffy about posting opinions in other fansites, esp IDF cos you know… I find the regulars there way too sensitive when it comes to Archie, you know what I mean? And I am way more critical of Archie when it comes to singing cos I have put him to a higher standard, as he so deserved.
It is really a blast singing with a band versus a soundtrack! The energy you get once the drummer strikes that beat really moves you to infuse so much more in a song. So how much more in David’s case?
I believe he will even surpass AOL once he is in front of a wider audience. Coz David feeds off from the reaction of his audience. We saw that from the Idol Concert. I have also observed that he does better when HE KNOWS that there are Angels in the audience. In an interview in one of his early TV appearances, he said it feels better knowing that there are people in the audience who get him. So JingleBall people will be in for a treat! Lucky you!

I love how surprised and pleased David is when we garner him a top spot, i.e., the #2 debut of “Crush” on Billboard’s Top 100 and making him announce his own video as the #1 video on VH1 when he visited there, etc.
He’s funny. It was so David to read about what he did when he and his mom went to ‘Twilight’ in NYC over Thanksgiving. Upon entering the theater, he heard “Crush” playing over the loudspeakers! What does he do but quickly walk back out. Cook or someone else would smile and take a bow if anyone noticed them. Not David. He runs for the tall grass. lol
It does seem to finally be registering with him that he has really embarked on a career in music. That he isn’t a passing fancy with his fans. It was nice to hear him talk about studying the business end of music. Convinces me that he has realized that he will not be heading off to college next year after all. He’ll be too busy touring, and spending time writing and in the studio. Which suits me--and half the world--just fine!
I really think *You Can* will be a huge hit and people will listen to it for years.
It’s just so good. Especially heard this way. This version should be released as is to radio. I know it’s not going to happen but i wish everyone could hear it.
Rolling Stone Mag. said some pretty slanted, crappy stuff about how Cook outsold David. The tone of the article put my teeth on edge.

I need ya’all’s insight on TMH! It has me in its greedy little grasp and won’t let me go. From the very beginning it holds me hostage and then, it gets an attitude a little over 2/3′s of the way in and then we get to ‘faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa—-aaaccee! (a free fall with that “a” and then an abrupt stop with the “aaaccee” at the end) and I am not a hostage any more, but a believer. How does that?!!!!!

Betsy-The Rolling Stone magazine you mentioned I have not read, but what they said about Cook outselling David is not totally true. Cook’s single…Time Of My Life has been out since May, and last I heard it was just reaching platinum. Crush reached platinum in 3 months…verses 6 for Cook. Also, Light On did not do well at first when it came out. Now that Cook is getting more air time on radio and he is being promoted more his album has outsold David’s so far. David will do just fine I believe. David has beat him in sales of his first single. Cook no doubt will outsell him in albums cause he won AI. He has the people and money to back him, and AI will do everything in their power to make sure he succeeds, but that is expected. I just want David to do well enough to make a name for himself so there will be another cd in the future. It also…as I have said before comes down to who was given the best songs to sing. If an artist comes out with songs that the general public likes, then they will buy them. If they do not have good songs to sing, even if they are a amazing singer, then they will not do good. David is the better singer in my mind, but if Cook’s songs are better…then he will do better. I have heard many NOT so good singers make millions just cause they were given songs with great music and lyrics. I am sure there was more time and money spent on Cook’s album than David’s. Also, a lot of people instead of buying the whole album will only purchase certain songs.
The fact that Crush went platnium in 3 months says a lot…give the guy a good song to sing and he can make money for Jive…because he can definitly sing!!
Ronaldsf481- I love the super-long-Thanksgiving-thread. It’s like a great big Thanksgiving feast where we’re all at the same table. We have all the elements of a Thanksgiving dinner, with no stress or mess of course. We began with some prayers of Thanksgiving. Family and friends continue to arrive throughout the weekend-- come when you can, leave when you must, return if you like. All are welcome- from the sane to the not-so-sane and everyone brings a little something to the table. There are interesting dinner conversations about topics that everyone can relate to, some listen, some talk. Most are well behaved, a few trouble makers make a bit of noise every now and then, but are kept in line for the most part. The main course is a feast and dessert is even better. Everyone leaves happy and well fed, having shared a wonderful holiday with friends and family….I for one, have had a great time…..thanks….
ronaldsf- oh btw- thanks for nothin’ last night …. where were you? it was all I could do to keep the trouble makers in line, they were going crazy (you know how passionate they are about fashion….)

I see rascal has not checked in on us…I would give anything to see rascal’s face when he views the sessions for the first time! I buh-lieve rascal will be, for the first time, at a loss for words! He may take some time,
oh my heck, he will NEED some time to compose himself. I hope he knows we are here for him and we all understand what he will be feeling..that David, in those five sessions, lived up to every accolade, every praise, and he deserved the highest pedestal we put him on!

I remember David saying that his songs on the album were his “babies” and he definitely delivered them in the AOL Sessions. Listening to My Hands right now which is incredible in its build up and the end--wow--how does he do all that? GAH….and THE VOICE is just over the top--it grabs you, completely surrounds you and you are one with it!

All this talk about Cook outselling David -- well he better because he is the AI winner. Imagine if l’il, awkward Davey stompped him out, even in the sales area. I mean DC has a million dollar contract to back-up his recordings in terms of production and promotion so of course he will edge out any AI finalist. DC has a unhampered exposure since May 2008.
It was only because of the undeniable pull in media and market demand led by his fans that enabled DA to stay in the limelight. If DA has been less talented and intriguing than he actually is, we won’t be getting much DA news (e.g. Blake of S6). But you cannot put down a good talent. The Archuleta simply shines. The VOICE won’t be denied.
TOML had 6 months to go platinum. Crush only took 14-15 months w/o the benefit of the AI machinery cos Jive was also slow to catch up or was slowed down..
HERE’S THE THING: Isn’t it interesting that in the AOL sessions, the most viewed with DC, after 10 days of uploading is DC’s interview (#7) but NONE of his songs/performance in the Top 20 (Crush video & the AOL sessions come in at # 19 & 20 I think)?
ALTNOY even outranked Light On at #26 & #27, respectively. If these are not indications of things to come, I don’t know what is!

But because you are my PBA I set off to investigate. I must admit I didn’t even know what IDF was , but somehow I found your thread! Anyway, the whole thing was fun. I enjoyed reading the first couple and then skipped to page 38 where I found JR!! No wonder you’re never home (here at ND) that place must keep you busy! jackryan #490 -- Thank you for your “welcoming” remarks. I don’t have a lot of free time to post, but I’ll try in the future. I got it when I heard David singing “Waiting on the World to Change” on AI audition show, and I was hooked since then. I still don’t understand why others can’t get it. I found out about AOL sessions really early on. I spent Thanksgiving and Friday (forgo shopping!) listening/watching AOL Sessions over and over. I don’t know much technical stuff about singing, but I was raised with all types of music. I think I can recognize the “VOICE” when I hear it. Like other Golden Archies have been saying, I want to hang around to hear David years from now too. I am so excited that I am going to Jingle Ball with ronaldsf on Dec. 3. It will be a very special treat for me.
I truly enjoy reading all the posts every evening, and I got more “laugh lines” on my face lately.
The whole weekend I have been doing multi-tasking, juggling among reading ND, google-eyeing David at AOL sessions and got drunk in his VOICE, voting voting at VH1 and Musiqtone Music. It seems I have only this life at the moment: ArchuLife and I am enjoying every moment of it.
David’s performance of “My Hands” on AOL is so intense, I love that tilt of his head at 2.50 when he sang “my hand, yeh” with a swing of his clenched left fist, it is priceless, it reminds me of one of his performances on AI session. His performance of “You Can” is so “Love Me Tender” on AI.
I venture to say every movement of his head, his hands, his hips, his fluttering eyelids, quivering lips are so pleasurable to behold.

This is so funny — there is an ongoing discussion as to whether David lip-synced his Crush AOL session! Bwahahahahahaha. There is this regular poster at VH1 who is adamant in declaring that DA lip synced the whole song and that the other posters are stupid. I was tempted to reply after reading the stupid remark but then I figured, why bother?

Let the haters say what they want, I believe even David sings in front of them, they would say he is lip-synced. It’s their nature, to deny all the beauty in their lives. Yes, no bother. They don’t understand, sometimes, it shows how ignorant they are -- because you know it isn’t if you have listened to David’s album version.
And I found, the agrument is really funny (espeically I read the comments in Snarky)… and I think the haters are the “fans” also, if not, why bother (David is lip-synced or not).

Ok, we can all see that David is ranked #7 overall. But if you look at it per session or video, his rankings are as follows:

I have been watching VH1 lately…and I wondering if anyone else noticed they have not been playing his video unless it is on the countdown? Just wondering if someone has seen it maybe when I have not. They are playing all the others that are on the countdown (including Light On), but not Crush. Why will they not give him play time like the others when he has been #1 several times? Just an observation.

I was just with David again and he sang to me again!! So sweet was he, to sing just for me! Course, he doesn’t KNOW he’s been singing to me since Thanksgiving!
JR..I read those comments on the VH1 thread about whether David was lip-syncing..and to be honest, I had to look real close cuz David’s voice was so IN-SYNC with the band and the CD that I was amazed. Then he changed it up a bit and I knew he was just doing what he does..create magic with THE VOICE.
The guest appearance st that concert last night must be the “unannounced” concert FOD posted about. We can
expect video soon if it’s not already out there. David sang my two very favorite Christmas songs. I think when the vids come out, I will die from complete BLISS! Can you die from BLISS??

I narrowly escaped the other night, and if you want more splainin’ you’ll have to get it from dj, chickee or betsy. But, the importance of this new signature look is really catching on. Yeh SF I do believe you can die from BLISS, or at least go into some kind of zoned out special place state. I am getting nothing done… my house is dust city and very messy. I do manage to cook, but only to sustain myself so I can listen to more DAVID and come to my second home here at ND to meet with my similarly inclined ODD friends.
I just heard Crush for the first time on the radio today. My son’s alarm went off on HIGH and I was in the kitchen making coffee when I heard it. I will have to ask him how long it has been on the radio, as I have not been able to bring myself to listen to any pop/rock stations… it literally hurts my ears with the kind of music that is on these days.
Thanks JR and Ebonyangel for updates from other sites, I really appreciate the news you bring this way. I do go to FOD and sometimes the IDF DA artist thread occasionally, but not much else.
Just to remind, I live in Western Canada, so finally hearing Crush on the radio is a great thing.

Clearly I was dillusional when I thought there would be a moment in time when I would be able to “step away from the Archuleta” after AI was over.
If anything, I am MORE glued to the internet and any morsel of information about him plus I can’t really remember more than a few days going by without something of interest going on with him.
I don’t know if other fansites, etc, are like his, but you can literally check every hour or so and there is something new. I’m afraid to log off for fear I’ll miss something!
Right now it’s these SESSIONS videos and then maybe they’ll be more videos and pictures of him performing with the Osmunds, and then maybe MORE videos/pics of his Jingle performances and you’ve just gotta know he’ll be singing somewhere if he’s home for Christmas which will probably give us some more videos/pics, and then a new MUSIC VIDEO!!!!!…..GUH!…..I’m a gonner!

joner543- Happy Thanksgiving, haven’t talked to you in a while. That is exactly why I must discipline myself to come only here and the links posted. If I were to get lost in the world wide web of everything Archuleta I would never escape, it’s too much. I tend towards OCD in my real life anyway, so I am accustomed to setting limits for myself. But I have learned to take my obsessions as they come and enjoy them while they last. Most stay for months before I move on to the next “kick”, and some for years, but many have remained for decades unto this day. I embrace them all as part of what makes me- me. I really do suffer from ODD, literally, and I know myself well enough to boldly predict this obsession will be one of the keepers…… what fun……….

Funny how David looks so much taller and older in the AOL sessions. In the photos w/the Osmonds, he looks awfully small. I get the BYU TV station via cable; I’m checking the schedule to see if they will show the Osmond’s benefit concert.

I’m happy to hear the concert with the Osmonds benefits people in Brazil. The current government has done quite a lot to fight poverty but under criticism of those who believe the measures to be paternalistic and not conducive to independence. I don’t know what to think, but as a Christian I believe in charity first.
Anyway, I don’t know if it’s because of all the hand-themed songs, but I can’t help but notice how big David’s hands are. I mean, ginormous -- is that a word? -- in proportion to his body. And they’re beautiful too! But maybe it’s too early for that kind of talk. Haha!

valbraz…David looked small next to those over 6′ guys. David’s about 5’6″ tall ( I had to look UP at him when I saw him up close, I’m 5’1″ )…and he may not be tall, but he is solid..the “hands” are legend by now as are the “thighs”..Very good things come in “small” packages..and in David’s case..we can only IMAGINE cuz it’s for dang sure we’ll never know!!
