Thank you rascal!!
To answer Deb from the previous thread..I do buh-lieve David will be coming out with a message very, very soon…so hold on!

Happy New Year to all here at notingDavid!…… may 2009 bring peace, joy, and contentment to you….and much love……
kimk . December 31, 2008 .
Deb Hi! I think we all are a bit restless here. So thankful he will be performing and we will probably get a vid or two! But I think all the fan stories will be even more entertaining!
Silverfox Wishful thinking? I am so hoping he had a major blast for the Holidays and his Birthday and personally I hope he can’t even let us know how much fun he had!
Karenkid . December 31, 2008 .
Happy New Year to Rascal and all the great fans of David Archuleta here and around the world!
I love this site and visit *silently* most of the time. But, as the year closes I wanted to thank you for the joy you have given me this year – and will give in 2009. May it be another year to remember with much success for David, contentment for he and his fans, peace in our world and much love for everyone, everywhere.
May 2009 be a year that unites our world and makes a way for all good things.
Big Happy New Year {{{hugs}}} to everyone here, the whole ND fan-damily … from patriarch Rascal to abuelita SF and all the class clowns, “smart” kids and sensitive deep-thinkers in between. And most of all to David … the FAVOURITE!!!
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
I think it’s so like David to want to bring in the New Year at home in Utah. He could have attended one of the huge star-studded bashes taking place in NY, LA, Vegas, & Hollywood. I’m sure he was invited to more than one. Shows he really has his priorities straight.
Raise your hand if you believe you’ll join me at midnight in thinking/hoping for David’s well-being in 2009 — I will be with my husband, one of my daughters and her best friend, but I know my thoughts include David as I wonder when and where I’ll see him in concert, if and when he’ll put out another album or two, etc. I bet a lot of you will do the same. This is astonishing when you think that exactly one year ago, most of us may have heard of David through Star Search, but no one knew the impact he’s have on us. (I did watch him on Star Search, and I liked him, but still …)
Wishing all of you hope and happiness in your new year.
Best
davidfanLIZ . December 31, 2008 .
Beauty, laughter and tears. That’s why I come here daily. Happy New Year to all you delightful people!
Oh the typos! I meant that my thoughts WILL include David. And the sentence should’ve said the impact he’D have on us. And that “Best” wasn’t supposed to be there at all, but since it is, I also wish the “Best” to all of you.
Which is course is David. May we all have ample opportunity to appreciate and support David in 2009.
vermeer . December 31, 2008 .
davidfanLIZ, “Happy New Year to all you delightful people!” is right! 2008 was special, beyond special, if you consider the fortune we’ve had in finding David, and also finding this amazing place, notingDavid, along with all the wonderful people who visit here.
I am so behind again I may have to give up on catching up on reading everyone’s comments from the last thread. *sigh* Much to do still and a lot of running around to do today. I’m going in to the office (office is closed though) to clean up and print my own David calendar, yay! Too bad zazzle can’t print it or I would offer it to others. rascal, I sent a pdf to you just to share.
It is inspiring that so many of David’s fans get so creative. Caseydog, awesome timeline!!! And Jennifer’s calendar too! (I could not not do one myself), and of course, Rabid, what can I say? You are one talented dude!
I hope you all have a great last day of the year before a brand spanking new year kicks in! Love you all!
kimk . December 31, 2008 .
Karenkid Hi! Have a Happy New Year and thank you for all you do!
SandyBeaches . December 31, 2008 .
I find that the name calling of being a “fan” of David is not good enough….Maybe an “aficionado” of David which in Spanish of course has the same meaning…But in reality for me I am an “admirer”…how dignified and a bit passionate that sounds…A “fan” for that matter appears to me to be a person running after him with shirts and posters to sign and a digital camera or cellphone always ready and gifts to give of teddy bears and the like..
So, an admirer I will be of this classy lad with the wonderful voice of the century…
archangel48 . December 31, 2008 .
Just popping in. So much to do, but seriously wanted to wish all here at notingDavid a fantastic New Year. I hope your Holiday Season was all that you so desired! The talent and class of writers here has given me MANY hours of humor and joy. For that I thank you all. A wonderful young man came into our lives and brought along with him such that has touched me like no other. Again, I thank you all for understanding what that feels like. Have a healthy and happy 2009!
Stella . December 31, 2008 .
Happy New Year to Rascal and all friends of David and of course to David himself.
I´m sitting at home by my PC listening how rockets are cracking out side and families are celebrating the Year to come.
I was thinking the same as Kait (# 9). One year ago I had never even heard the name David Archuleta or Star Search .
On the other hand I had never before been lurking around internet either after any singer, actor or what ever. That was before David´s time. Now I´m starting to be quite an expert.
Even my children are sometimes wondering how in earth I manage to do this all.
But they don`t realize that David is such a power that even people at my age find ways to find up what´s need to be found.
And there is no doubt what I am searching for. Everything Archuleta.
So once againg enjoy the evening and be ready for updates to come.
And that R4D art is just beautiful.
Think I have to go to some course to learn how to make those things.
erin4david . December 31, 2008 .
Happy New Year to all of you! R4D just does a beautiful job, and how adorable is David? Can’t be any cuter. Hope everyone is safe today and tonight and brings in the new year with the Archadorable!
erin4david . December 31, 2008 .
Kait, nice post…nice to hear you watched during Star Search days…seems so long ago. What a difference a year makes! David’s music sure got me through some tough times this year.
Josie . December 31, 2008 .
Peace and Joy to all the angels here…You have all brought me so much joy!
rascal – you rascal – Happy 2009 and all the great things to come! You know how much I appreciate ND. It has happily fed my ODD and then some!
Oh, silly me, almost forgot David! Peace to you David Archuleta. My life has changed forever – happily I might say – and a day does not go by without hearing your voice or thinking about your well being and the pride just swells in my heart.
Hugs to all!
Angelica . December 31, 2008 .
Happy New Year to Rascal and all the little rascals here on notingDavid! I discovered this site when it began and in my enthusiasm for David, starting printing out all your wonderfully written articles, Rascal. I meant to collect them all for a scrapbook. Was that wrong of me to do that? Anyway, never mind, I stopped long ago as you were too prolific to keep up with. I would gladly buy a copy of the collected articles in a book if you ever choose to publish it.
Freofan . December 31, 2008 .
SF, I bet we will be hearing from David very soon! Anyone planning on listening to the Snarky’s cellcast tonight?
Angelica . December 31, 2008 .
Almost forgot…Happy New Year to you, David!! If anyone ever had reason to look back on a year with pride it is you. Thank you for working so hard and taking so much time for your fans, even when you were sick. Thank you for your courage and integrity in a world where these qualities have become so rare. So many changes have taken place; you may feel in the year to come a little overwhelmed. I want to share with you these words from George Bernard Shaw…”This is the true joy of life: the being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature…” Be happy. We love you.
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
Freofan…I’m betting on that too.
I keep trying to leave him a Happy New Year message on his mobile #, but I keep cracking up at his greeting when starts talking in Spanish..it sounds so spontaneous, not rehearsed at all the way he laughs at himself..then I crack up and have to hang up! hahaha!
Yes, ok, so I call his mobile # JUST so I can hear his VOICE!! Is that sick? OMGosh! IT IS!! Well, Dang!
This dry spell w/o David is just too Dang hard! It’s not like I’m leaving tons of messages! hmmm, I could disguise my voice though…
Iamblisskasden . December 31, 2008 .
I left a couple of posts on the previous topic., but I guess we’ve “moved on” to this new one. I’m still getting the hang of all this, dang it.
BTW, my E- mail address is hacienda432@aol.com. I would welcome any and all comments, invitations to meet for dinner, etc from any of the wonderful people I have met here.. I live in the NYC area. I ‘ve never been much into the “group thing”, but this is a group I can relate to. This is the magic of David. He brings people who are tuned into his kind, warm, loving soul together. This is how he is slowly changing how people feel and, therefore, how they relate to one another. He doesn’t have to sing one note to do that. Who else in anyone’s memory has been able to move people in such a positive way?
olemr2001 . December 31, 2008 .
I hope this is accurate! There is a report at IDF that “Crush” had sales in the 128k to 129k range for the past week, and that would be its second biggest sales week! (The biggest sales week was the week of its debut in August.)
Hola a todos! I hope everyone had an awesome holiday season! I’ve been spending time with my family, and it’s been great! It’s been so nice to finally relax and spend time with all of them. We’ve been in Vegas for the last little while. I’ve been eating WAY too much, but hopefully I’ll be able to lose some of it lol. Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone for incredibly thoughtful things you’ve been saying wishing me happy holidays and also happy birthday! haha. I just had my birthday on the 28th, so I’m now officially 18. Thanks sooo much for all the comments and videos that you guys have sent! It was way cool to see them!! For my birthday we ate Thai food for dinner, and then saw the Blue Man Group which was really cool and creative. It was cool to go to a show with my family and have a fun time doing something together, so I had a great day. On our way to the show my siblings and I found out that we all happened to know the Harry Potter Puppet Pals and the Mysterious Ticking Noise and had enough of us to do the different parts… haha. We’re dorks, but we had fun. But thanks again for all the things you guys have done for me during the holiday season! And hope everyone has a Happy New Year!! I’ll be making an appearance at the Newphoria New Year’s Eve Dance in Orem, Utah for New Year’s, so for those of you going I’ll see ya there! But anyway my mom’s telling me to hurry up because we’re going to eat now so I’ll talk to you guys later!
P.S. Thanks for making the Crush video hit 10 million hits!!!!!! I was like.. floored when I found out! haha.
P.P.S. This blog is way shorter than my other ones! Hooray for not rambling insanely!
Song for the day – If This Isn’t Love – Jennifer Hudson

So I am at computer for a few secs and just saw the blog.

I knew that David would post today — just had a feeling! I guessed he would be back home today. It’s so odd to hear him talk about the Blue Man show after reading about the “David sighting” in Las Vegas beforehand. I don’t remember who said it, but I bet they stayed outside of the city in a resort or something and came in for the show and dinner. I feel like I was reading his diary or something!
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
I’m getting ready to leave work now, and before I do, for everyone who will not be here later..I would like to say
THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart for making this last year one of my happiest..I am so grateful to rascal for giving us this wonderful forum which we all have come to call home..warm & wonderful, where we can “talk” really talk like families who love each other, who can at times, agree to disagree, but still with that one connection..our deep devotion and love for David.
We’ve had great times here…laughter, tears, {{{hugs}}}, and so much creativity. I have learned so much from all of you. Thank you for accepting me the way I am. My wish is to someday meet each & every one of rascal’s notingdavid family members, everyone who has ever posted here. What a party that would be!
May this next year bring more joy, love, & laughter than we can imagine!
Thank you David, for showing me the way..to live again, to love again, to laugh again, to appreciate and love my life.
Wishing you all a happy, safe, prosperous & peaceful 2009!!

Keep our dream alive too about all the fansites meeting all together one day!

Before I read David’s latest blog, I was going through some very serious David Withdrawal. This last week felt like a month! I was home alone today so I blasted David’s CD through my speakers and sang with him at the top of my lungs! Try it, it helps! Sing it loud, revel in it, let it own you!!!
Caseydog: I’m just now going through your awesome timeline! Thanks so much!
Jennifer: Your calendar is just what I was looking for! I can finally have David’s pictures all around me instead of just online. Thank you!
Thank you, Rascal and everyone here for the most enjoyable forum on the net! I’m so glad I found you guys! Wishing you all a Healthy and Happy New Year!

Iamblisskasden . December 31, 2008 .
I’d like to wish everyone here a Happy New Year. This year will forever be remembered as the year that David Archuleta first hit the scene like a bolt of lightning. It was the year that a young, handsome, warm hearted guy with a beaming smile captivated America on American Idol and caused people to care about someone in ways that they hadn’t done in years, if ever. When he sang “Imagine” people could not believe what they were hearing and seeing. When he forgot the words to “We Can Work it Out” 2 weeks later, he became America’s son and best friend because we realized that he was human, and we wanted to protect and support him.
As the weeks went on, and David gave one great performance after another, it became obvious that he was going to be the next American Idol. When he dared to sit in a chair in the center of a stage and tackle Elvis’ classic “Love Me Tender”, he made this grown man cry from the unbearable purity and beauty of the performance. It’s still hard for me to watch it on You Tube. It kills me evry time.
On May 20th he gave three heart stopping performances at the finale, which Simon categorized, correctly, as a “knockout”. When David Cook’s name was announced as the winner, the sight of David’s classy retreat to the side of stage broke my heart. Of course, David showed us all how to be gracious and mature, despite the travesty of the final result, and never gave the slightest hint that he was either disappointed or resentful of this injustice.
Since that day, it’s been all good for David. He is well on his way to becoming the most successful singer in the world. He’s already the most talented. He is beloved by millions, with millions more waiting to get on board. He has chenged the way people look at young people, especially young guys. He is class and grace personified, along with being funny and intelligent. Bring on 2009. The best is yet to come, for David and, it is my wish, for everyone who loves and respects him.

It am so glad that I have a place where I can actually admit that a new blog from David is the highlight of my week.!!
To be able to share that here with such warm, creative, insightful, delightful people has truly been a blessing this year.
SF keep those fanvention flames burnin’… that would be an unforgetable experience. I have met a few of my fellow NDer’s- what a privilege- meeting more of you in 2009? woot! woot!
This will be the year of the SOLO TOUR!.So a happy new year to you all.
David, Wishing you all the best life has to offer you in 2009!Rascal thanks again for this place!
Rabid.. just wow!
erin4david . December 31, 2008 .
Iamblisskasden, I always love your posts. You really do get David. Thanks for the summary of this beautiful year. I really did think I would die when David forgot his words on We can work it out, but I knew that it was the best thing that actually happened to him. People saw him differently after that, and really realized he was human just like all of us and not this little perfect robot. I think it was all part of God’s plan to show people that this precious boy could stumble and pick himself up and then sing the most beautiful song ” Long winding road”.
djb,
I’m thinking of writing a poem using all of David’s songs.. ha, ha…can’t wait for the next CD though, so I have more material to work with…he, he
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
Erin..Hon, listen to mush-mama, take deep breaths! Say to yourself..I can do this, I can do this…( I don’t really know WHAT it is you can do..but see if it helps ). I promise to stand by you, just don’t let the sun go down
on me yet. I imagine the best is yet to come, there will be no barriers. i know you are desperate right now, but this crush you have is real, no use running! Somebody out there cares about you. I know you feel as if you’re falling..but it’s ok. just don’t let go, take my hands, I’m here for you. We can work it out, I’m sure. This long & winding road is just the way to be with you. I really think when you believe, your eyes don’t lie! So just touch my hands now, cuz what works for me, works for me…does all this make sense to you? I know you were waiting for yesterday and for David, right? If I were you, I’d just go shop around again, and watch for the angels in the alleyway, I imagine they are everywhere! I also want to tell David… I’m a little too not over you, and neither is Erin! see what you dun to us!!
erin4david . December 31, 2008 .
ok, mush-mama, I just love it!!! I’m a little too not over him, that’s for sure…Even when I go to McDonalds, I see David….Arch card, ha, ha…you see I can’t stop and neither can you mush-mama….

Happy New Year Everyone!
I remember this line from Ally McBeal: “If you think back, and replay your year, if it doesn’t bring you tears of either joy or sadness, consider it wasted.”
Well, then there is no time a-wastin’ here in ArchuUniverse, then! Welcome 2009! Let’s get it on….

JR4DA – I love that line from Aly McBeal. I shed plenty of tears of sadness & joy in 2008, so it was not a wasted year. I am, however, looking forward to a fresh new 2009!! Hopefully, filled with lots & lots of David!!
And THANK YOU for the next part of the Q100 interview. It’s downloading as we speak!!

I love hearing about grown men cry because of David, lol. It’s so wonderful to share in the excitement of this amazing Archu_effect experience that is something completely new to most of us, certainly to me. We have so much to look forward to in 2009!!! Hey SF, you are just too much. Love you, Leopard Lady! Leopard right? don’t know which thread talked about that. I’m a Panther, or whatever comes after Cougar, haha.
betsy . December 31, 2008 .
Happy New Year everyone!
Stay safe, healthy, crazy, funny, thoughtful and musically inclined!
My life is better for having “hooked up” with everyone here.
And my goodness, I am so much happier!
(the new grandbaby doesn’t hurt!)

vermeer..why yes, I am a LEOPARD..a white one with spots!
Hi Adam! Coochie-coochie! You are sooo cute & David luvs you..I have proof!
What time is it..has anyone seen David?? Where the heck is OREM, UTAH anyway? Why can’t he ever come here where I live..don’t I count? He goes to NY, LA, Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago, he even went to Lexington & Evansville..two hours from me..why is he avoiding me? Maybe I need some of your Sprinkles cupcakes, Erin. Where can I get some?
JR..Thanks for always lookin’ out for us and makin’ sure we have all the great links & downloads! You are a very pretty lady too!
I wonder what rascal is doin’? Surely he’s not “watchng” us..he’s got big plans! not like me…sitting here waiting and wondering…where the heck is Orem, Utah? I can’t find it on any map..all I know is, it’s dang COLD there tonight! mamasaun & smanda better make sure David is warm! I should BE there..just to make sure..oh wait, David already has a mom & an Abuelita!
betsy . December 31, 2008 .
Just think about how our lives are expanding! This past year I have made so many new friends. From all over the world.
Boy David, you really know how to spread some peace and understanding!
Does anyone remember a few months ago when I finally delurked I said that David was a New Age Hippie? I still believe that. His own kind! Spreading love and linking it up all over the world.
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
SF – Calm down . . we will keep David warm . . smanda is already there . . checking out the venue . . I’m dragging papasaun with me in order to con-vert him to all things David. Orem is near Provo – can you find that on the map? On second thought – don’t calm down – you are way too much fun just the way you are. BTW . . I’ll be heading out soon to see David in person for my very FIRST TIME! I CAN HARDLY CONTAIN MYSELF. I’M SHAKIN’ IN MY BOOTS!!!!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Deb . December 31, 2008 .
SF – You’ll appreciate this. Some folks from FOD are going to tonight’s event in Orem, UTAH. They are sending updates to Becky at FOD. In their first update, they said they made a sign to hold up, but accidentally wrote “FANS ON DAVID” instead of “FANS OF DAVID”. Needless to say, they scrapped that sign & started over. LOL!!!
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
HAPPY NEW YEAR WITH DAVID! CAN YOU BUH-LEEVE IT!!! OH MY GOSHHHHHHHH. (okay, I’ll calm down . . I know you all want to be there too . . ) Happy new year to one and all here at ND. You are amazing people!!!
Deb . December 31, 2008 .
Awww … Mamasaun … I’m soooo excited for you!! I hope you have a blast tonight!!
betsy . December 31, 2008 .
FANS ON DAVID!!
Bwaahaaa!
vermeer . December 31, 2008 .
OMGosh mamasaun, it’s your first time seeing David in person!!! I am sooo excited for you! Please say hello to smanda for me!
betsy, your little Adam is beyond cute! He is going to be a very handsome man!!
I hope that when I come back here later, there’ll be lots of reports of tonight’s event in Orem!
rapture . December 31, 2008 .
Hello all,
I don’t post here often because unfortunately I’m the only one in my immediate family who “gets” David…long story…
Anyway, I love to read the posts and see some familiar faces from Rickey’s –way back.
jackryan4da: you wrote in the last thread that Mike Krompass explained the difference between the radio edit and album edit of ALTNOY. I must have missed that. Do you have a link, or brief explanation. I’m curious about it.
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
mamasaun…OMGosh..your first time..that is soo special! and on New Year’s Eve! ( that didn’t come out right ) I don’t know what’s come over me..please forgive! I mean the first time seeing David in concert, of course! I am so jealous..I am GREEN!
Deb…that is sooo funny..they should have left it and just marked through the word “on”..David has a sense of humor doesn’t he? But maybe Lupe would not appreciate it and she’s pro-buh-blee there tonight! But it
was a funny thought! hahaha!
It is too late to catch a flight to Provo??
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
SF – Never too late – he doesn’t sing for another 5 hours
betsy . December 31, 2008 .
SF you are cracking me up! As usual!
Mamasaun – I am pea green with envy! I’ve never seen him live.
I shall have to rectify that this year.
I surely will.
mamasaun..oh yeah, but I read that it was decided that he will also sing something with the Osmonds..at the earlier show? right?
Are you on Pacific or Mountain time? I’m so confused! I knew I would be regretting not going BIG TIME! woe is me!!
juliebug . December 31, 2008 .
Before I forget…
Happy David Years, my lovies!
Deb . December 31, 2008 .
SF – Richard posted on FOD today that David will not be singing at the earlier event. He said he’ll be arriving in time to sing around 11:30 & then be leaving to ring in the new year with a large group of friends & family. He warned everyone that there will most likely NOT be M&G opportunities.
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
SF – Yikes . . if he sings with Osmonds, I will be missing it. They told me at the box office that he is only singing at the dance at 11:30 MST
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
Deb – smanda will be very sad if we don’t get to meet with David . . she brought a gift all the way from Oregon for him. Apparently Jeff knows she is coming . . what to do . . hmmmm
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
mamasaun..I guess I was wrong about David singing with the Osmonds.
Deb, that’s too bad if David arrives at 11:30, and leaves before 12:00?? Is Richard included in the group of friends & family?
;
davidfanLIZ . December 31, 2008 .
I just have to share that I think it is SO cool that David (and his siblings) know about the Harry Potter Puppet Pals. A music teacher friend introduced me to them last summer and I think they are a scream. My friend actually found a way to incorporate them into his music class.
Deb . December 31, 2008 .
SF – Richard is not; he is spending the evening with his own family.
Mamasaun – don’t give up hope! If Jeff knows about your friend, then he is likely to make it possible for her to meet David. He is amazing in that way.
davidfanLIZ . December 31, 2008 .
SF Utah is on mountain time.
So… David will leave before midnight? I thought he would be singing to bring in the new year.
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
mamasaun..if Jeff knows smanda came all the way from Oregon, I’m sure it’ll work out. And you can be sure that if David knows, I wouldn’t be surprised if you all DO meet David. Even though David is scheduled to SING at 11:30, doesn’t mean he’s gonna arrive at the venue at that time..He’ll be there earlier. I just know there will be time for smanda to give David the gift. If David is aware, he will not disappoint. That I do know.
betsy . December 31, 2008 .
Can I just say this? I really like all of you!
Life is good sometimes.
betsy . December 31, 2008 .
Like most of the time!
davidfanLIZ . December 31, 2008 .
betsy – What a lovely thing to say. Yes, you really MUST get to a show this year to see David live!
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
Thank you all for the reassurance . . we will go early just in case we get to meet with them. We will look for the FOD sign and try to hook up with them. I am sure – if David knows – he will do what he can . . that being said, I don’t want him to miss his own party and fun . . he is just so WANTED by everyone! Sweet sweet boy/MAN.
Deb . December 31, 2008 .
I didn’t want to misrepresent Richard’s comments, so I went to find them for you. Here’s what he said today on FOD:
Unless things change tonight, I am pretty sure that David will be arriving in time to perform during the last hour of the year ONLY tonight. To those of you who bought tickets to both events to see David, enjoy those events, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t end up performing during the first one. It will still be a great show and your money definitely will not be wasted. I suggest you party it up until you see David sing closer to midnight. I am also pretty sure that there will be no meet and greet. I am pretty sure he is planning on hanging with a large group of his close friends to ring in the new year and will probably be taking off with them soon after his performance.
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
Deb – Thank you for posting that. We will just keep our fingers crossed. Maybe he will be there with a date or something . . and will even dance . . that would be so fun. It is a New Years Eve dance . . after all . .
Deb . December 31, 2008 .
You’re welcome, Mamasaun. Have a grand time tonight!!
If you’re not close enough for the real thing, blow David a big kiss for all of us at midnight!!
valbraz . December 31, 2008 .
Feliz Ano novo!
Here in São Paulo the fireworks shows are about to start. My cats are hiding under my bed, uttely terrified, as I type in my laptop. It’s a hot, starry night.
I want to wish you all a happy, peaceful, prosperous, David-packed 2009!
I’ve never met any of you or David, but hope to at the fanvention when it happens, because it will. And I tear up just thinking about it! It would probably happen just before David’s closing show of his first solo tour. And then we would all go to the show together and thud together!
I hope it’s also a great year for your country and your new president. God bless!
djb . December 31, 2008 .
SF/52~ok, did you say “goo-goo eyed”..LOL…and #55..ROFLMAO .really..you are a wise silverfox!!..You are looking out for us aren’t you..I think brownies are involved tonight!!…too funny….
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
My first report (and I’m not even there yet) . . my daughter just called from the events center in Orem (she has special tickets to the concert before the dance). She said there are a TON of people at the concert who are there to see David . . they still think he is singing at the concert. There are a lot of children included in that number and no one under 16 is allowed in the dance. They will enjoy the concert – Rockapella is GREAT – but the probably won’t see David . . very sad.
jackryan4DA . December 31, 2008 .
RAPTURE on #75 re the new ALTNOY re-mix
Snarkies’ post: ALTNOY producer/co-writer Mike K:
“The radio mix is the same version, just a little big bigger and hi-fi sounding…. in general just sounds better It’s the same version that appears on the ALTNOY video on itunes.”
And Chenson on IDF/Artist Thread has this to say:
“The acoustic guitar has been brought forward and there is a bit more bass definition and they have done away with some of the synth noise and made the drums sound more organic. It generally sounds a tad cleaner. Sounds like a tweaked production rather than a drastic re-mix.”
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
David with a “date” would be news for sure! And if he danced with a date? A photo of that would be worth a fortune! hahaha!
i just don’t think David will actually LEAVE the venue just before midnight..seems more likely that his group will be celebrating there but in a private room, maybe?
Jeff will be there, so his mom will surely be there too, I would think.
In any case..I think mamasaun & smanda will have an unforgettable New Year’s Eve!
erin4david . December 31, 2008 .
mamasaun, I’m so excited for you! I’m screaming for you right now!!! Hear me? Tell him how much we love him. I hope you can talk, sometimes in his presence the voice don’t work. But, now that mush mama is an expert at seeing David maybe she can give you some advise too. Mush mama was pretty calm for her…ha, ha.
Ok, back to the sprinkles cupcakes…hmmm, I know David likes the red velet ones, that was the kind he had that night at rehearsal, remember? It was Novemeber 4th the night of the election, what a day and what a night! I’ll never forget it, I’m getting shaky just thinking about it.
erin4david . December 31, 2008 .
WOW! I just realized that my buddy smanda is going to be there too. I’m sending hugs and prayers for both of you!
davidfanLIZ . December 31, 2008 .
valbraz – Happy New Year to you! Hope your cats are okay!!
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
Erin…ME, an expert at meeting David..I NEVER SAT WITH HIM ON A COUCH EATING RED VELVET SPRINKLES CUPCAKES!!
I was just dang lucky! At the right place at the right time. The elevator was a “trip” though! and I blew it..there was so much I could have said to him..I had 30-45 seconds
alone with him..can you IMAGINE what I could have said to him in 30-45 seconds?? I could have told him my life story, the way I talk! BUT NO! Can’t even remember saying “5, please”! He must have thought..”aw poor car lady, she must be a little senile, happens at her age”.
So the expert is YOU, my dear, with your cupcakes!!
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
SF – hahaha – your are just too much . . just too much!
jackryan4DA . December 31, 2008 .
Re the FanVention – oooohh, I wish I could join you guys! If it won’t be that soon, like around 2010 maybe(?), I may have a chance to actually join you
Of course, am hoping the consul will not give me that crap again about being too young to be a widow so he could turn down my visa 5 years ago!. And to think I simply wanted to see my redwoods Hah!
I wonder if it will help if I wear an Archie shirt when I apply? LOL
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
mamasaun #99..I think the promoters of the events should have made it clear that David was not going to appear at the first event. And if David knew there were so many people there just for him because of a miscommunication in the promotion of the events, he would not be happy. I hope his fans who are there now hoping to see him will know it was not David’s decision not to show..I’m hoping word gets to him, and he does make a surprise appearance! That would be totally like David!
Iamblisskasden . December 31, 2008 .
erin4david,thanks for your kind words. It’s funny, when I was in college, writing reports, papers, etc. were such a chore for me. Writing about David, all these years later,is
a total pleasure. The words just flow from me. I just let my heart do the writing, and leave my head out of it. That’s just one of the great lessons I’ve leaned this year from David. Boy, could I have used his wisdom over the years. Oh well, it’s never too late.
emmegirl08 . December 31, 2008 .
betsy – New Age Hippie – I absolutely love that! Hey, he definitely has the verbiage down, “dig” and “trippy” to name a few.
Just a quick note, thanks so much for the adorable picture of your Adam. I lost a newborn years ago and his name was Adam, and so whenever I see your picture my heart swells and I can’t stop smiling. Please keep updating them for us.
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
SF – I really wish he would make a surprise appearance. Then my two children who are at the concert would be converted! And they would quit making fun of me! When my daughter called for concert tickets they told her David would not be singing at the concert – just the dance. However, I think a newspaper article messed up the whole thing . . too bad . . I guess there was a huge lack of communication . .
jackryan4DA . December 31, 2008 .
ERIN – did you have any pix while sharing cupcakes with our David on a couch? Maaaan, don’t you wish that was caught in a video?
I wonder how many cupcakes David had? Cos he loves to eat, right? In AI backstage scenes, he was almost always eating on cam haha.
I went through his AI vids again and I can’t get over how thin he was by finale night. The pressure + school chores really got to him. He was just so pro in keeping it cool
erin4david . December 31, 2008 .
SF, you just crack me up…I forgot about your elevator ride, see how later you just wish you said something else and talked more. Funny the affect David has on us.
jackryan, boy I wish I had brought a video camera there that night. Funny thing is that we were all just pigging out on these cupcakes and just couldn’t stop. We were all on a sugar high. That night David took the rest of the cupcakes, I think there were 4 left, I wonder if he ate the rest of them?
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .
JR..look, far be it for me to break any international laws, but we’re talkin’ bout a FANVENTION here! So, here’s what you do…tell them you just found out you have a long lost grandmama who lives in KY and is on her deathbed and is asking for you! I will back you up! That would work, wouldn’t it? No? then just tell them the truth..that you MUST see David, show them a photo or a video..surely that would work?? You have to be here! We’re gonna take over a park somewhere, maybe even the REDWOOD NATIONAL FOREST! where your beloved redwoods are!! Ok, so I’m exagerating just a bit! But it’s gonna be a blast, whenever & wherever it is!
And valbraz..without question, you must also be here!
Right now it’s just a dream. A wish. A hope!
Bliss..you, my friend, have “wisdom” to spare! Have you not noticed how respected you are not only for your insight, but for the wisdom that shines through?
As posted in Snarkies:bunch of awesome numbers.
David A.’s Crush leads the pack. When we left it two weeks ago, it was at No. 37 with 28,000 downloads. It rose to 31,000 before Christmas, though dropping to No. 39 on the chart. But this week it more than quadrupled to 128,000 and leaped to No. 22. Total is 1.30 million.
David A. was at No. 21 two weeks ago with 59,000. He then leaped to 79,000 but fell to No. 22, as most albums on the chart were packing on the pre-Christmas sales. This week he drops to No. 33 with 56,000, for a total of 566,000. Belated congratulations on passing half a million as well!
DAVID ARCHULETA:
#10 new artist overall,
#67 Hot 100 artist,
#48 Pop 100 artist,
#45 digital songs artist (Billboard)
CRUSH
#57 digital song,
#76 Hot 100,
#52 Pop 100,
#37 AC, #89 Canada (Billboard);
#66 Top 40,
#45 AC,
#79 Hot AC (Mediabase),
#58 Top 40,
#37 AC,
#73 Hot AC (R&R).
Pertinent portion of the article: “43. David Archuleta, “Crush,” 1,305,000. Archie came in second on American Idol, but his first single sold more downloads than the first single by the winner, David Cook. “The Time Of My Life” sold 1,045,000 copies to rank #65. (Cook sold more albums, though. David Cook is #36 for the year. David Archuleta is #68.) Bottom line: They both won.”
ALTNOY will give the album & Crush more legs. I hope David makes a slew of appearances on TV and radio stations for the ALTNOY launch while of course doing more songwriting HAHA!
Well he is a master in multi-tasking, right?
rae . December 31, 2008 .
Hi everyone! Oh my on those Crush numbers! Amazing, exciting, and fantastic!
And wow with that Happy New Year by R4D!
What talent!
SF: Fanvention sounds great! Count me in.
Yes I was excited to see the new blog too…All is right in the world when we “hear” from David, and of course when I see the evening prayer…oops, I mean first amendment protected “message” from SF.
( sorry…could not help it)
Happy New Year to all at ND!
mamasaun . December 31, 2008 .
SF – the more I think about it, the more I think David might make a surprise appearance . . after all – the reason he is on the program at all (it was planned a year ago) – is because the Osmond’s wanted him there, and they are performing at the first venue – the concert . . . hmmm . . maybe I should leave for Orem now!
silverfox . December 31, 2008 .

Hi Everyone!
Happy New Year!!
It’s sure good to be back – I really missed everyone over the past 2 weeks. I resisted the urge to go locate internet access where I was so I now feel totally and mentally refreshed for all things David in the coming year.
Peace and blessings for 2009! I came on here right after getting a New Year’s text message from David! ha ha!
Nothing like ringing in the new year with friends, family, and those you admire.
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
ONE HOUR TIL DAVID’S PERFORMANCE!
I on the other hand will sign-off while waiting for the cellcast at snarky’s, and for David..
Dear Lord, Though we are unworthy to ask,
Please take Care Of David. Watch over him, Protect him from all harm. Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path. Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give. Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him UNCONDITIONALLY as we, his ARCHANGELS do. Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his wellbeing. Give him rest when he’s weary. Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace. Give him assurance when he feels doubt. Give him joy when he feels sad. Cloak him always in your protective arms. Keep David healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born.
This, though we may be unworthy, humbly pray,
Amen.
David, have a blast bringing in the new year with your friends & family! When you finally go to bed, hope you have…
Sweet dreams! Be safe & secure in our love always! Take care. You will always be numero uno in our eyes! Thank you for all you do and for just being you!
CONTIGO SIEMPRE CON AMOR!

Iamblisskasden . January 1, 2009 .
Silverfox, Yes, I feel the love on this site for my posts, and the feeling is completely mutual for you and the other folks here. The 1960s “love-ins” had nothing on what goes on here. I think we all have people in our personal lives that think we’ve become a bit unglued over our devotion to and adoration of Mr. Archuleta. When I get any resistance, I just refer the pathetic soul in question to any one of David’s performances. If they still don’t “get it” I tell them to listen to “Somebody Out There” or “O Holy Night” before I certify them as legally dead.
I watched some of the New Year’s TV coverage tonight with a few friends. One of the channels piped in John Lennon”s “Imagine” at Times Square. It was very moving, of course. At one point, however, I found myself thinking “Who is this guy singing David’s song?”
davidfanLIZ . January 1, 2009 .
Bliss – you named my two current favorites – SOT and OHN. These are the two that I have sent most often to the unconverted in my circle. They beautifully show the range of his emotional landscape, from a simple love song to a transcendent hymn. SOT has such tenderness, such yearning and sweetness. I think that rascal has written about this being almost a perfect song. And OHN channels the divine. Hearing him sing “Christ is the Lord” is truly a sacred experience. Simply watching his face as he sings brings me closer to spirit.
Does one have to be “legally dead” to not hear what we hear LOL? Perhaps. I totally do NOT understand why some resonate with this Voice and others do not. It is a “falling in love” and how do you explain that??
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
David’s set is over..hope he has a great rest of the night!
David’s family was there with him and he hugged his mom & sisters at midnight. Sweet!
There’s a big interest in what he was wearing! haha!
JR…good thing I peeked back in to see if anyone was here at rasca’s.
KY is Kentucky…and if they ask,,WHY KY? Just say “my long lost grandmama loves horses and the KY Derby”,
that should do it!

Happy New Year to everyone at ND.
tawna21 . January 1, 2009 .
Happy New Year to all of you and to David, too!! It’s 12:38 here in Utah, so David is probably off to party with his friends.
I think it’s great that his “friends” are still his friends and so important to him, even tho’ he’s famous. He really takes good care of friendships. . . and adds new meaning to the word.
Thanks jr4da for the download link for VLC. I did the download, so tomorrow I’ll try again for the interviews (1&2).
SF–Orem is 30 min. south of Salt Lake City, and about 25 min. south of Murray. Now you know–it’s better that way (right?).
Good night all!! This Jaguar needs to find her feather pillow.
DavidfanLiz, SOT has got to be the most beautiful song David has sung that is an original song written for him. I was listening to it in the car, and had to turn it off because I was starting to get emotional on the Jersey Turnpike. As for OHN, what can you say? David and I were brought up in different religions, but his performance is a religious experience in itself.

David Archuleta – Crush (New Year’s Eve Newphoria 2008)
It is such a nice feeling, watching David do the NY countdown. The audience was so close to the stage, so watching it feels like being there. Awesome.
Greater still was that he looked so happy I could cry. When he hugged his Dad… sigh. Am just so happy to see him happy.
Happy New Year everyone! RASCAL, thank you once again for ND and thank you to all the ND’ers for making witnessing David’s star ascending a special experience in 2008.
Oh you guys! I was there! I was right in front of the stage and had my own archugaze moment and it was wonderful! But Jeff was behind a speaker from where I was standing and I never saw him. David left on my side of the stage and his dad left on the other side and vanished. So – no gift delivery tonight. Will work on something tomorrow.
It was SO WONDERFUL to see David with his friends – laughing and relaxed and happy. That was almost the most joyful part of the evening for me. (Most joyful – my own Touch My Hand-like Archugaze moment.Sigh. Note to all – he loves it when we sing along with him!)
And I got to meet wonderful, helpful, sweet Mamasaun and her very kind husband as well as Archu_adorable and her very kind husband. David fans are the best people on the planet, I am quite sure.
Happy New Year!

Thanks, Smanda, for the quick recap. I have watched the links provided by JR and the videos at Snarky, and though I was thousands of miles away, I could feel the intimacy between David and the people there. So much love and joy in circulation!
It must be quite an experience for you and Mamasaun who got to see David perform live for the first time. Sorry you had no opportunity to deliver your gift.
Kizzi . January 1, 2009 .
mamasaun and smanda – Thanks so very much for the updates and sharing your New Year’s Eve experience!! It is the next best thing to being there!!!!!
jr4da – thanks for the links to the concert last night and the Crush/Altnoy updates.
SF – aka, “mush-mama” – you are the BEST!!
DavidfanLiz and Bliss: SOT and OHN are my current most listened to David songs on my iPod. I believe that SOT will soar once released. So much to look forward too!!!
Happy 2009 everyone!
Kizzi . January 1, 2009 .
Oh, and if you haven’t listened to David’s performance of Crush all the way through, do so, he changes up the end and it is fantastic – a real treat. He refreshes it, yet again! Gaahhh–1st ODD moment of 2009–lol!
olemr2001 . January 1, 2009 .
Happy New Year to everybody!
In this video of “Crush” from last night you can hear some of the crowd singing along with David, all through the song.
Did you see him jumping up and down the stage as he touches hands with his fans, towards the end of the countdown video? He was among his loved ones.He was doing his thing and having a blast. That’s what’s important.
I guess you noticed how the host introduced David last night: “He won the biggest competition in the whole wide world, American idol!” David knew better than to try to correct him here; he just started singing.
Abrra . January 1, 2009 .
OMG! Here is David’s first concert of 2009 and his debut as an 18 year old!
Credit to SnarkyArchies:
It was fun staying up late again for the cellcast from Utah. Then to have the video up this morning was “just too much”.

So nice to have new videos and pictures to start off the new year with! This past week was rough with little David news; I am been so spoiled!
Happy New Year!

Bliss #131, “Somebody Out There” is my favorite song on the album, and it often moves me to tears. To me, It speaks not only about romance, but also about deep, lasting friendships. Out of all the songs David has sung, I think this is the one that most plainly and beautifully expresses what Rascal first wrote when he formed this site:
David reminds us through his work, his integrity, and his disposition, that a treacherous and cynical world can dissipate in an instant with the expression of love.
betsy . January 1, 2009 .
Just beautiful, ronald. That song is also a favorite of mine. I can’t even talk about it. It’s too tear-inducing.
Today is a day of housecleaning while watching the AI7 marathon that begins at noon. Everything else aside, David will be singing and bringing back great moments and memories. I am so excited!
Deb . January 1, 2009 .
Good morning, everyone! And Happy New Year to All!
Bliss, Ronald, Betsy – SOT is my absolute favorite song. I HAVE to hear it a few times every day, but I have to be careful where I am when I listen to it. I have actually had to pull over if I’m listening while driving. It just speaks to my soul like nothing else does. The combination of the lyrics, the lovely melody, & David’s pure, breathtaking voice just gets me every single time. I love the quote from Rascal too. Thanks for that, Ronald.
marlie7 . January 1, 2009 .
jackryan4DA #61: Thanks again! Excellent vid, it was so much fun watching David come out from behind the curtain and his reaction to those fans’ reactions.
New Year’s Eve with David! He did look so happy and relaxed. And the signature scarf (heart thud). And his hair, and his beautiful face…..sheesh, the lull between Atlanta and New Years has made me a little crazy.
Wanted to chime in on the “Somebody Out There” love. That’s the song I played for my husband immediately, because it gets to the heart of what drives our 18 year marriage (and possibly many relationships) through the tough times: that willingness to remind the other person that, ‘hey, don’t forget, I’m here and I care.’ I don’t recall another song hitting that truth so simply or well.
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
“Somebody Out There” is a beautiful song, my favorite song on the album.
olemr2001 . January 1, 2009 .
I’ll chime in, too, regarding SOT. Beautiful beyond words. I still find it incredible that it was not included on the main version of the CD.
I’ll return to my comment in #152 because the first time I heard that announcer, I missed the fact that he prefaced his statement with, “In my opinion . . . .” Of course, that makes a big difference.
rae . January 1, 2009 .
Oh my 131 Bliss: If they still don’t “get it” I tell them to listen to “Somebody Out There” or “O Holy Night” before I certify them as legally dead. Legally dead- Too funny!
I would add Crazy to that list ( David’s song, not the state of the legally dead people who don’t get it)
mamasaun . January 1, 2009 .
Good morning all and happy new year. I wanted to tell you all about my experience at the NYE bash last night.
Smanda – it was so great to meet you. You are a lovely person! It was so fun to finally connect with another ODD person.
It was a glorious experience to see David in person! He looked so happy the whole time and I can’t even describe how hard he worked to give both songs every part of his heart and soul. It was so different in person than in the videos. The videos sound great. Where I was sitting the sound system was cranked up so loud that it was difficult to really hear David. I suppose ‘loud’ is a part of New Year’s Eve, but I was trying to ‘convert’ papasaun, and since we couldn’t really hear THE VOICE, he is not converted yet. But he was a great sport to sit through all the dancing, etc. just to see and hear David live with me.
Just a couple of note about the performances that people were asking after watching the vids . . when he looked like he was ‘pushing’ during Crush, that is exactly what he was doing. All evening everyone was trying to get people close to the stage to move back . . there were little children up there. I am sure David was concerned about that. Smanda was guarding some small children next to the stage all evening. What a trooper!
Olemr2001 – When the announcer introduced David, he prefaced it with “in my opinion” he was the winner of AI. I am sure alot of the crowd agreed with him.
Interesting thing – there were a few of us ‘cats’ (older fans) there, but the majority of the people on the floor were teenagers – and college age – and they were singing along. His fans cover every age.
As soon as David arrived, the security really tightened up. In fact, Rockapella tried to leave so they could get back to their hotel, and they had to argue with security to get out of the parking lot. Jeff, the vocal percussionist for Rockapella, tried to get in to see David and they wouldn’t let him in even though they were both back stage. Apparently David and his friends and family arrived in a limo and sat up in one of the VIP booths for quite a while before David went on. (I had a little insiders information because my son is friends with the Jeff from Rockapella)
Anyway, David is completely BEAUTIFUL – inside and out, and he exudes JOY. For me, that was the best part of the whole experience last night. I will look forward to his solo concerts when the volume is adjusted so THE VOICE can truly be heard. That is my report . . until I remember more.
mamasaun . January 1, 2009 .
Olemr – guess you already knew that . . I was typing whilst you were #162 haha
Mamasaun, thanks so much for your report, and thanks to everyone who posted vid links from last night. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year than watching/hearing David sing! Happy New Year, everyone!
olemr2001 . January 1, 2009 .
#164 mamasaun, Thanks also for your insider’s report. It was especially interesting to hear about the ages of the fans and about security.

rae . January 1, 2009 .

I hadn’t thought before about SOT being as much about friendship as about romance, but yes, I agree. I can see these words and sentiment coming from a deep friendship as well. Oh my, there is a gentle tenderness about that song that just pulls your heart. This song along with WFM seem most like David to me, expressing his aesthetic, his time of life. Somehow the chemistry of his co-writers on these two songs really was magic. Hope that he gets to work with these artists again.
And you have quoted one of my very very favorite rascal quotes.
“David reminds us through his work, his integrity, and his disposition, that a treacherous and cynical world can dissipate in an instant with the expression of love .” I printed this out long ago and have it on my wall.
Kizzi: #147 We can only hope that SOT will be released on its own. So many fans love it, it HAS to be released. I am excited to read the interview that snarkies will be doing with the co-writer!!!
smanda and mamasaun – thanks for your reports. What fun for you both!!! An Archugaze moment!!! Wow!
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
Good morning everyone!
Just saw this amazing tribute for David by Jenny @ FOD on youtube..really beautiful..check it out..
As for Somebody Out There..I chose this song for my Close Encounter vid specifically in hopes that some who haven’t heard it and watch the vid and like the song, will spread the word about it..The only way this beautiful song is going to be heard by the masses is if WE promote it OR if it’s on David’s next album. What I’m going to do when ALTNOY is realeased to the radio stations, I when I call to request it, I will mention SOT as well and ask if I can send them a copy of it.
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
mamasaum! smanda!
I thought about you all night til 4:00 est when I finally went to sleep!
I’m so sorry you weren’t able to give David the gift. And so happy you were saw David in a mini concert and still could see how wonderful he is!
Consider that a “rehearsal” or a “taste” of what you will see at David’s solo tour!
I was a little surprised about the tight security. I mean, this is David’s home base. Was the crowd rowdy, could David have gotten hurt? Why the security in the parking lot? I know there will be venues where there WILL have to be tightened security for David’s safety, but last night surrounded by his family & friends, it’s puzzeling to me that security to keep David apart from his fans went that far in his home base of all places?? Do you think I’m over reacting? I want David to be SAFE of course, but I hate that he needs to be isolated from his fans as well.
That’s the one thing I feel sad about when I see his future as the Superstar he is fast becoming.
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
It would be amazing if SOT were on the next album! It has happened before with other artists (I believe “I’m Yours” is a great example of fan grassroots support resulting in a song by popular demand being put on a second album and getting overdue publicity).
Cannot wait for his solo tour. Joner and I will be there in Chicago in the first row (or as close as we can get!). And we’ll hopefully get to do-over after the snowstorm debacle in Chicago. Lots to look forward to in 2009!
rae . January 1, 2009 .
Re the tight security:
When AI came to Tampa, I went to the meet & great before & stood in the soggy weather to meet David,
I am not one to do something like that, because I am not particularly impressed with celebrities or feel a burning need to meet one. But, of course David was different and I felt David’s star would so quickly rise that I would never have the chance to meet him face to face and thank him. Well, he was rushed that day, but mission accomplished. Guess, even if he wanted to have less security, advisors, would advise against it, as they are responsble for looking out for his safety at a venue.
olemr2001 . January 1, 2009 .
#149 The security comments have reminded me of remarks I saw at the video linked here. That video is from youtube user josiahezra, who wrote, “Keep in mind I was being smashed like a sardine the whole time I videoed. It was crazy and hot!!!”
mamasaun . January 1, 2009 .
SF – The crowd was not rowdy at all even though they were crowding around the stage. I’m not sure why they blocked the parking lot . . sometimes I think ‘campus police’ get overly enthusiastic about their job when they have ‘important’ people to take care of. No offense to any police officers out there. I appreciate all they do . . just sayin’. It was nothing like the rainy ballfield experience and the crowd there surrounding his car. Heidi (my daughter) said he probably arrived in the very long white limo that she saw in the parking lot.
She (Heidi) just told me another cute story from last night. She and my son were back stage with Rockapella, and as soon as David arrived two of the Rockapella members (both fathers of teenagers) went rushing to him to get his autograph for their daughters. HaHa – two grown men . . you’re in good company Bliss.
One more thing . . apparently the sound was way better if you were on the floor. I thought it would be better in the bleachers and wouldn’t be so loud, so my husband and I left to floor and sat in the bleachers. We should have stayed on the floor. Jeff (from Rockapella) called my kids and warned them to get as close to the stage as they could because it wasn’t a great sound system and it got worse the further back you got.
vermeer . January 1, 2009 .
I think I saw somewhere (someone will have to confirm this for me) that Jive will make SOT and WFM available on iTunes in a few months. Some of us thought ‘a few months?! Why not right away!’
vermeer . January 1, 2009 .
mamasaun, too bad about the bad sound system. I am sure your next show, solo concert (!!!) will be a different experience. Your hubby will be a convert, haha! I may be just old but I never understand why at concerts the sound is cranked up so high to the point it is painful to listen or that people have to bring earplugs. It makes no sense to me. At the Sacramento Jingle Ball, I covered my ears during Jesse McCartney’s set because they literally hurt. One great thing is, provided the sound system is decent, David’s voice really does fill the space and you can hear him. Even just watching the vids with the Osmonds (2ndG), his voice is so clear and resonant and stands out above the others.
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
Did you see David’s new year’s resolution to learn more about the business and songwriting?
I like his resolution! David has already shown promise as a songwriter, and if he can further develop that, I believe that he will be a huge force in the music industry and will also write for other artists, too.
davidfanLIZ . January 1, 2009 .
vermeer – I am LOVING your new avatar!!! Beautiful!
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
Vermeer, I know, the sound is just awful at some concerts and way too loud for me. Since the Chicago Jingle Bash I learned about an earplug made for hunters that will block out much of the loud explosive sound. I plan to wear the earplugs at the next concert except for during David’s set. Depending on who David opens for (if he opens for someone), Joner and I may just leave after his performance.
davidfanLIZ . January 1, 2009 .
To David: Requests for your 1ST SOLO TOUR:
First of all, all we care about is you. It’s okay if someone opens for you, but this needs to be a solo tour.
Second: Medium-sized venues please, with chairs, so we don’t all get squooshed. We’ll probably stand the whole time, dancing or just soaking it all in, but the chairs provide some personal space.
Third: Cool, hip band.
Fourth: Excellent acoustics please. The Voice should be clearly heard in all parts of the venue.
Fifth: Alternate energetic pop stuff with some acoustic numbers, with guitar and/or piano.
Sixth: Lots of Saturday dates please. I’ve already missed too much school with the AI tour and the Jingle shows. (And please come to BOTH San Jose and Sacramento.)
What else guys?
valbraz . January 1, 2009 .
Hi everyone!
Don’t you love the way David ended Crush yesterday?
That last run was genious! Wow! I sometimes fret over the way he sings, always on the edge and so fearlessly. After his voice cracked a bit somewhere in the bridge one would think he’d become more cautious, self-conscious, I don’t know, and shy away from experimentations. Well, think again!
Anyway, since many here are waxing lyrical about SOT I have to say that my new passion is ‘Waiting for Yesterday’. OMG! The lyrics slay me everytime – especially when he sings:
‘I know that he left you in pieces.
You know that I won’t that way.
I’m not gonna treat you like he did.
Whatever it takes’.
It’s also hip and cool and danceable. I LOVE it! Oh, David!
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
David, please try to schedule Indy or Chicago dates on a Saturday or Sunday, and be able to talk about my great day with my co-workers. I don’t think I can finagle another Ford Day trip again mid-week (wink – wink)
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
If you schedule for Sat. or Sun., then I will be able to talk about my great day openly (I should have said). Of course, David if *you* want to be able to talk about my great day with my co-workers, that’s great, too, because that means that I’d have a special visitor to my workplace!
olemr2001 . January 1, 2009 .
#184 valbraz, I agree with you about “Waiting for Yesterday.” I really love the melody and the driving rhythm of that song.
betsy . January 1, 2009 .
I was just on my charter site. What pops up at celebtv.com? Top breakout teen stars of 08. Yup, David is there. Along with the predictable Jo Bros..
David, please come to michigan. I can’t leave the state to go to a concert. I am trying to stay under the radar around my family. They already think I am a nutjob!
vermeer . January 1, 2009 .
davidfanLIZ, your own list of requests! LOL! We can ask right? I’m with you on every point! Thanks for liking my new avatar. Something new for the new year.
freofan, thanks for the earplugs for hunters tip! Great to know there is such a thing. I’ll have to go get some before the solo tour, to be used only for the other act if any of course.
vermeer . January 1, 2009 .
I think this has been posted before. An “angel dance party” on WFY. They are having a ball! Makes me want to get up and join them. Actually I do! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHlcAv7u3Xo
Valbraz, #184, yesss, loved the way David ended Crush yesterday. At the Albany Jingle thing, two of Gavin Degraw’s fans were raving about how they can count on Gavin singing songs exactly the same way in each live show. So much so that they could predict every pause and inflection.
Refnaf & I looked at each other and laughed cause, of course, David is just the opposite. You never know what amazing new place he’ll take you to.
rae . January 1, 2009 .
On my local cable, they are showing re-runs on the fox reality channel of the AI season… Right now
they are on San Diego! ( we know who auditioned there)
I am watching- he must be toward the end- Hope I can catch it. Just saw Michael Johns.
Betsy, #188, I know what you mean. The look on my dad’s face at Christmas when he heard I’d not only left the country to hear David sing live, I’d travelled to three diff. states in five months … yeah, “nutjob” no doubt crossed his mind. But what a blast it’s been!!
valbraz . January 1, 2009 .
TOfan,
That’s funny! Why leave the comfort of your home in that case? They were probably very young. Children appreciate familiarity and routine. Ha ha!
betsy . January 1, 2009 .
I’ve been listening to the aol sessions again. I forgot how great they are. Really outstanding. How can I still get chills from something I’ve heard so many times?
Joner . January 1, 2009 .
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone here at Noting David!
Love starting the new year with vids of David. Joyous!
I loved watching Jeff’s expression while he was watching his son perform in the background and the hug David gave to his Dad at midnight. That’s great stuff.
I love the fact that his “posse” was his family. Heard he was “dancing” with his Mom for a little bit too.
And can I just add, I know he said in his blog he’s been eating ALOT and was going to try and loose some weight after the first of the year, but am I the only person who thinks he looks amazing in horizontal stripes???
Work it David….work it!
OK…now that that’s over, ♫when can we see you again♫
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
Vermeer, my friend is a huge U2 fan and he said that the hunter’s earplugs really do help with the loud sound. They are made to protect your hearing from gun firing, so they work very well for concerts. The ones he showed me are encased in plastic and thick foam in the middle. He said that they cost about $15 and you can often find them in the hunting section of stores like Dick’s, Wal-Mart, etc. He said that you can most likely find them in a sporting goods store like Dick’s, though.
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
Joner, I love him in horizontal stripes! You’ll hear from me soon!
joymus . January 1, 2009 .
Oh Betsy, your avi!
Could you give yor grandson a kiss for me? He has grown so much – What a cutie pie!

Regarding David’s resolution to learn about songwriting and the business-… although I’ve tried to keep my desire to post poetry to a minimum (have I succeeded or are you sick of it already?…don’t answer that) you must have gleaned that I am a lover of poetry… and poets. I was just thinking today about David’s music and thinking that he is so young that he may not have been influenced much by the music of the late 40-70’s when lyrics were very important to music. It seems that in the last 20 years (his whole life- argh!) lyrics in much of the contemporary music have been lacking in depth, and that is a great loss to a generation. Knowing that he is a student of pop, I do hope that he “studies up” on the transformative power of lyrics in a song- pop or otherwise….
The gift of his voice DESERVES great lyrics- cloddish lyrics are not worthy…. I have feared that the compliment, “he could sing the phonebook” might be tragic foreshadowing. He might be encouraged to accept lazy and uninspired writing because the voice and inflection will make it sound good anyway. Richard Burton could recite the phonebook, but the unequaled brilliance of his Hamlet remains to this day. In the same way, the marriage of David’s voice and poetry is a feast for the soul. The interpretive power of his voice should sing poetry, any kind- light or heavy, it doesn’t matter…….
Joner, #196, I was also touched by the way David immediately reached out to the audience after counting down to midnight. And then went back to high-five the fans again after hugging friends and family. He’s incredible ….
Happy, #200, I too am a lyric junkie and am encouraged by reports that David studies the meaning of every line he sings very carefully. I don’t know who this generation’s Cole Porter or Lennon & McCartney are, but I hope David gets to work with them… or turns out to be them….
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
Joner..Yes David looked mighty fine last night..didn’t look like he needed to lose weight, and you know what they say, cameras adds 10 lbs to your image?!
But if he wants to lose weight, I can tell him how..He needs to start another concert tour!! Really soon!
I’ve been watching videos of the AI tour and the barricades, all the promo appearances & the AOL sessions. I can’t watch the re-runs of the AI Season 7.
Just can’t, not interested. We have video of all of David’s performances on AI and that’s all I want to see anyway.
We have a lot to look forward to early this year..another single released, possibly more radio station promos and hopefully TV too. I am really wanting to get more info on his tour, and who will share the bill with him. Hopefully it’ll be someone that we won’t need earplugs for. I was surprised that Jeff (not David) was disappointed that Atlanta was not S/O, and he was concerned cuz he said David MUST S/O his concerts, but David was not the Headliner, and it seemed to me that half the audience there was there to see David, and the other half for the other 4 acts. I hope when David’s tour is scheduled, that they are realistic and schedule smaller venues, 2000-5000 seats, depending on location. And that they add a real piano, not just a keyboard. And that David sings not only Crush & ALTNOY, but Angels, SOT, WFM, and Desperate, YEDL, WFY, (just my preferences, thank you!). And that David’s set is slow paced, not rushed. If David’s mgmt is worried about S/O venues, all they need to do is take and apply some of David’s most ardent fan’s suggestions and we will come, to more than one concert, in fact. I’m no expert, I just know what I would love to see happen for David. S/O venues for sure!
marlie7 . January 1, 2009 .
vermeer #190 Cute vid – I haven’t seen that before. And it is nice to see young people having a blast with no beer, no pot. Just a lot of good music, dancing and laughter.
Joner #196 David looks fantastic – and I actually thought his legs looked thinner – or more muscled. (I was looking at his legs?)
Silverfox #203 I’d like to see David try a few new things our on the audience as well. A song he’s recently written, or something that allows that awesome range of his to shine the way When You Say You Love Me did during the AI Tour.
Joner . January 1, 2009 .
I’ve done the “arena” thing at David’s last two concerts and would really love to hear and see him in a smaller venue. I think they are alot more intimate and would probably cater to more of a “listening” audience than a screaming one. Not that I have anything against screamers…I completely lost my voice the day after the Idol concert. By the way, my husband would like to personally thank David for that. Apparently a day without me rambling is like a slice of heaven. Go figure….;)
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
Joner..hahaha! I don’t know if a smaller venue will keep us from screaming..cuz to be honest I don’t think we even realize we’re screaming! The first time I saw David in Lexington, it had been decades since I had been to “that type” of concert. I didn’t scream for any of the other acts, but when David came out, I don’t know what came over me..the screams just came out, and I didn’t care who saw or heard me..I only had eyes & ears for David..but so did everyone around me, so no one even looked my way anyway! I would hope that in a smaller venue, we will have some self control…but there was Albany, so who knows? hahaha!
And we older fans will always have to share David with his teen fans in the audience who will scream throughout his songs, anyway.
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
SF, you said: Hopefully it’ll be someone that we won’t need earplugs for.
I laughed so hard at that! That we’re already talking about getting heavy-duty earplugs to make it through the other acts before we get to David!
cutter12 . January 1, 2009 .
Sneaking on here at work real quick. KSL-TV has video of David’s performance at Utah’s Governor’s inauguration from 4 years ago.
I thought you might like to see…
Hope everyone is having/ had a wonderful New Year!
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
marlie.. you were looking at his legs?? HOW COULD YOU?? heh-heh! It’s so funny that one of the questions last night at snarky’s cellcast was “what is he wearing?” Why is it so important to us to know details like that? He has totally made us go bonkers! We notice everything, from his hair to what color sneakers he’s wearing..it just boggles the mind! We are CRA-ZEH!
olemr2001 . January 1, 2009 .
#208 cutter12, Wow!! Thanks.
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
cutter..thank you for that link…David had just turned 14 then and his voice was great then too..but this year he is gonna BLOW them away!!
Anyone going to that inauguration on the 5Th? And what about the Hard Rock Cafe in NY on the 12th?
I wonder if David is going to perform at the Presidential inauguration, or just guesting? Can’t think of anyone who could do a better job of singing the Nat Anthem.
betsy . January 1, 2009 .
Marlie #204 – We can now admit to looking at those well muscled legs. He is legal!
(We all do it)
Cutter #208 – Thanks for the link. Young David!
valbraz . January 1, 2009 .
# 200 Happy
I’m not a lyrics kinda person. If they’re not embarrassingly lame and go well with the melody, I’m ok with that. For me it’s all in the melody and rythm, but I like John Meyer’s lyrics. Do you think he could be a good example of what you’re talking about?
# 206 Silverfox
You’re always so wise. We keep forgetting that we are not his screaming audience, erm, I mean target audience. We’re a bag of dangerous cats – I’m a cougar but refuse to use this label because of the other guy’s fans, ew! I love David’s current songs, but I’ve never really acted my age.
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
Oh yeah, Betsy..I forgot. David IS legal…hmmmm. maybe you shouldn’t have reminded me! It’s bringing out the Leopard in me!
Nah..I am NOT going there, not today anyway! But he does have nice, very nice legs. Uh-huh!
valbraz..The beauty of being David’s fan is that he is indeed a Fountain of Youth for some of us.

Joner #205, that’s a crack up! And SF, so true about screaming and doing things one might not normally do. Besides spontaneously screaming out his name when I (and Liz) saw his face on the big screen in Sacramento before the show even started, I waived a lot throughout his set. Funny to think I was doing that, kind of like not me. But I really couldn’t help myself because David said he feels good knowing his fans are out there and I wanted to make sure he knew I was there for him, haha!!
Freofan, thanks for the info on where to get the hunter’s earplugs. It’s funny that to go watch and HEAR a concert, one can stand to wear earplugs that “protect your hearing from gun firing”. Such irony!
cutter12, thanks for the link. David was, is and always will be awesome.
Hey SF, when you are “in love”, you need to know everything, what he is wearing definitely, lol.
collegemom . January 1, 2009 .
Hi vermeer – I wish I had looked over to see you waving at him in Sacramento. As it was, I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage!
marlie7 . January 1, 2009 .
silverfox and betsey: LOL! Yes, I tend to forget he’s legal now (bwahahahah). I thought I remembered reading somewhere that David doesn’t wear shorts or go to the pool. But I’ve liked his legs since that Guitar Hero commercial, in those cute white shorts or in jeans, or even in plaid dress pants. And of course, I pay attention to all the other parts, hair, hands, face, clothes. HOW CAN WE NOT, DAVID! (sorry, getting out of control, again)
By day I’m really a mature, serious, business woman (LOL!) but David just undoes all that and I become a screaming fangirl. As with most of you, I have to be V-E-R-Y careful not to make my friends and family crazy with my David-talk. That’s why I love coming here, reading your ODD rantings and knowing I’m not alone.
If there really is a David Fanvention, I’ll be there, no matter where the location. And if his tour is anywhere in New York State, or nearby, I’ll be there trying to not scream out like I did at the Rochester AI tour (thankfully my son’s girlfriend was screaming with me – my son, on the other hand was laughing at us).
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
vermeer…”in love”?? We are in love with David?
Uh…well gosh..you may be right! I mean, I know I’m in love with his voice, his eyes, his face, his laugh, his personality, etc, etc, so when you put it all together as a whole..you get DAVID!! WOW..I ARE in love!! hee-hee, with an 18 YO!! And so is everyone else! That is funny!!
marlie..it’s ok, cuz you are “in love”! haha!
David definitely needs to find his true love, so we can “get over” him! ( but not his VOICE) hahahaha!
Freofan . January 1, 2009 .
I am excited about an updated inauguration video on Monday! In watching the one from four years ago, I was amazed at how much he has improved technically, and I also noticed him licking his lips a few times.
jackryan4DA . January 1, 2009 .
Hi everyone!
Te-hee… Always get a kick looking at his bangs tee-hee! Thanks cutter12 for that link. David will blow them away on Monday. Gah, hear how his voice has improved? Not only The Voice, even his interpretative skills. Can’t wait!
Another reason I can’t weait? David will be singing on my bday Am 47 people,! Yup, am a cougar that does not prowl (unfortunately, according to my friends & kids – lol) Gosh am so lame but what the heck! Am still smiling ear to ear knowing he will sing on my special day HAHA!
Since it will be open to the public, seeing a video of his anthem performance is a no brainer, right? (eyes wide, hoping) Some of you will be there right and record him, right?
jackryan4DA . January 1, 2009 .
Hmmm.. I wonder when is Rascal’s bday? How about you SF? May I know? Wouldn’t it be cool if we could know bdays of others!
Haha! Whenever I think of happy, it is always with djb!!!
Am watching Today show and a skater is performing to Sea;’s Kiss by a Rose. Wish I could hear David sing that one! That song fits his voice so well, am getting shivers just imaging it
BTW, before I again forget RONALDSF – I like your “Re-imaginigs” idea! Great one!
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
Freofan..I think David was nervous! Who wouldn’t be? It was a great honor to be asked at age 14 to sing at the inauguration. He was sooo cute!
I’m gonna be dying to get home to see the videos of David singing the Anthem on Monday!
JR…You don’t PROWL?? haha! What kind of COUGAR are you??
This may seem like old news but it’s a beautifully up close vid of ATM in Buffalo that includes the delay with the keyboard (during which David managed to keep a packed arena spellbound): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XucKMloYLec

Hey everyone! Thanks again for sharing so much David info for the New Year!
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a David dream, so how fascinating that, my first night of 2009, David would enter my subconscious for the eighth time.
In my dream, I was trying to get into a new house that I recently purchased but had lost the key and couldn’t remember where my spare key was. Who should show up to help me in my predicament but the one and only David Archuleta!
Still pondering what it could possibly mean.
Wishing you all peace and blessings for 2009.
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
djb..why did you know I was an Aries? Funny how a lot of people tell me that when they find out I’m an Aries..they say I KNEW IT! hahaha!
Iamblisskasden . January 1, 2009 .
TOfan, That video speaks volumes about how far David has come. Right after he announces that he has never performed that song in front of such a large audience (translation: “I’m a little nervous) the keyboard malfunctions. Without showing the slightest angst or discomfort,he flashes his winning smile and has the tech guy come over to fix the problem. The audience, sensing that David may be uncomfortable, increases its volume of cheers in order,I think,to reassure him that they are with him during this SNAFU. Then, the unspeakable happens. The pedal doesn’t work. The roars gets louder. The ceiling could have caved in and the crowd would have been right there for David. That’s not just a singer up there. That’s everyone’s brother, son, and best friend in whole wide world. When all is fixed and ready to go, David delivers a great performance. No hissy fit, no drama, just real life happening in real time.
David is both a dreamer and a realist, and he can do both at the same time, under any conditions. I know he just turned 18 a few days ago, but he’s been a “grown up” for much longer than that.
happy?? have you gone out to “restring your racket” ??
djb . January 1, 2009 .
SF~HG~ what do they say ? ” birds of a feather flock together”…….
happy . January 1, 2009 .
SF232- thank you for referring me back to marlie ( marlie and me..haha) anyway…you speak the truth and actually, as usual, this all started at …you guessed it…the whistling citrus’ post196 and her love of horizontal stripes (which used to be a reality wardrobe for all of us- but no more, haha)
anyway, what I was sayin’ before was… you will never be over him, nor understand fully how he can be so talented…. (you’re right dj, that’s much better…)
silverfox . January 1, 2009 .
HG..So did David help you FIND the key, did he break the door down to let you in, did he call a locksmith, did he pick your lock, did he sing to you, or did he take you home with him? How did he “help” you with your predicament?
wish my dreams of David were that innocent! JUST KIDDING!!
happy . January 1, 2009 .
dj238- LOL……was actually tending to the wounds inflicted by the stones (while getting advice from PBA ronaldsf on how to patch things up…)
(and cleaning the kitchen)

JR – wishing you a very Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy your day!
happy . January 1, 2009 .
SF243- I am happy you missed it… maybe it wasn’t as bad as I thought, I must admit I felt a little devilish after I posted it…. I lobbed you one in 224, didn’t know if you caught it so I sent in another at 227…… but dj yelled at me in 228 so I fixed it in 240…… does that clear it up?
betsy . January 1, 2009 .
Happy – I have always loved that you have the heart and soul of a poet.
I am married to one. That is how he won me over so soon after my divorce. This sounds awful now, but I remarried within six months of my divorce. It’s almost 17 years later and I still have all the poems he’s ever written me. And he still writes them, on occasion.
I love all of the poetry, ballads, prayers, and not so innocent talk here. It makes for a well-rounded discussion. Don’t ever stop!
marlie7 . January 1, 2009 .
Oh, this is funny – how the kitties are all so playful tonight! (this means you, kittens, cougars, jaguars, panthers, whatever) LOL!
djb . January 1, 2009 .

happy, #227, I was about to say that catnip WAS stronger than you thought then I cleared my cache and found your new avi
bliss #236, “The ceiling could have caved in and the crowd would have been right there for David,” so true. I was in the crowd that night and awestruck at how he had that whole crowd on the edge of their seats and in the palm of his hand.
HG, #234, wow, I think you have the record for Archudreams — do you have midnight-snack nutterbutters or something? lol
juliebug . January 1, 2009 .

marlie7 . January 1, 2009 .
juliebug #252 Oh, my God, you have me ROFLMAO
jackryan4DA . January 1, 2009 .
SF – yes I don’t prowl, much to the disappointment of my kids & friends. What can I do? Am such a dork!
Just imagine this scene: I like this guy and this guy likes me but we are hopelessly both “torpe”. So we (a group of friends) went out one time. And the guy happened to be there! So we all had a great time, right? As we were leaving the concert scene, the guy ran after me. Picture this:
Guy (2/f ledge) – Hey D, ur leaving already?
Me (G/F landing) – (looking up) Yeah, why?
Guy (t2/f ledge) – Well… (obviously, fidgeting) I thought it was still early….
Me ( G/F landing) – Yeah but, I have to head out early tomorrow… so… ur still staying?
Guy (2/f ledge) – Yeah.. well… ok.. tc…as you have to go..do you, really?
Me (G/f landing) – Well, yes.. but you’re staying? so enjoy! Bye
Guy (2/F ledge) – Yeah, you’re leaving… take…care…
Friends: GROAN… GROAN.. GROAN…
Mind you, while this ridiculous exchange was happening, my friends were in the stairs, in the middle of it, like watching a tennis match
Friends: (to me) Can we kill you now? Let’s us just like to kill you both!
bwahahahahahahahahaha. The guy, btw is an executive at Asian Dev’t Bank, cute, plays the guitar and has a fantastic voice! Am also an executive of a local company. Are we not the dorkiest of dorks?
So I may be a cougar by age, but not by form or substance by any means. Gez, am laughing at my own dorkiness LOL Am hopelessly flawed. Hahaha
djb . January 1, 2009 .
juliebug~252~ you are one witty kitty….
oh crap rascal~~you too!!….LOL
jackryan4DA . January 1, 2009 .
HG – my crystal ball says your dream may mean that David or what he represents to you, is the key to your happiness or to what you are endeavoring to do next…
And I hope that that is not to unravel why MARLEE is looking at David’s legs even if he was wearing pants or if HAPPY & DJ are tennis partners figuratively
JONER – I cannot explain it but your “Work it David.. work it” had me LMAO… Oh gosh, we know that David wouldn’t even be aware that he’s be working it, for the life of him Actually, David doesn’t have to work it for us to go ga-ga over him but can you imagine what would happen to us if he actually did? AY CARAMBA!
djb . January 1, 2009 .
thought this was appropriate for tonight, thank you David
especially ~~ 0:22-0:32…enjoy…
rascal, HG..we can’t be the ONLY Aries in the house..but in any case..I’m not surprised either.
juliebug…ball of yarn?! hahaha!

rrbwade . January 2, 2009 .
Hi SF, In answer to your question # 269 about the venue, etc. on New Year’s Eve. I haven’t yet read your opinion about it, if you voiced one, because I always read the comments from the most recent first and then go backwards.
Here is how I felt when I watched a video of the Newphoria gig.
I felt a little shaken and sort of sick to my stomach. I felt like David was being taken advantage of, like the venue was cheap,
no one was paying attention to him, but something else I couldn’t quite define … like he was on display, being toyed with,
like a caged animal. I guess, as one of his “adoptive “grandmothers”, I felt a sense of fear? or foreboding about how tiresome this kind of gig could become for him. His artistry is much too refined for that venue and his spirit needs some protection from what I was sensing from that video.
I wish I knew who sent him there and what Jeff thought about it.
I wonder if anyone else felt this way.? Am I over reacting or being over protective ? I felt like it wasn’t worth his time and I was sorry that he was spending New year’s Eve that way.
He is an artist. And a precious, serious individual.
I think I felt something of what Rascal has expressed about frustration with the shallowness of some of the material David is working with.
Anyway, I’ll submit this comment and then read backward and see what you, my dear silver Fox, might have written.
I’ve been lurking recently and silent, but I need to say thank you to Rascal and everyone else there for the lovely Christmas and New Year’s thoughts and prayers.
If anyone can help me feel better about the Newphoria video, please do. sincerely, Regina

betsy, you asked how many videos of David are oout there..according to YouTube, about 24,000 videos.
It’s been interesting tonite, learned some more new things about ourselves..time to say good night all, and to David…
This, though we may be unworthy, humbly pray,
Amen.
Sweet dreams! Be safe & secure in our love always! Take care. You will always be numero uno in our eyes! Thank you for all you do and for just being you!
CONTIGO SIEMPRE CON AMOR!

There is this beautiful new house that you have bought, with all its new rooms and spaces. You’ve done the work, you’ve done the research, you’ve put in the time, and you’ve found the perfect “house.” But it is David with his Voice, and all that means for you, who can unlock the door to the new house, who can help you gain access to these new possibilities.
Oh this is quite lovely!
What do you think? Does this make sense?
ronaldsf . January 2, 2009 .
My sister just sent me this video and I thought I should share it among my ND friends.
It’s an amazing performance from Judy Garland, from 1955. I’m only recently beginning to discover what made her a legendary artist. Warning: you may need a hankie…
Capricorns have always been special people in my life. 2 favorite relationships were Capricorns, a fantastic teacher I once had, an awesome husband (David!) also is Capricorn. Go figure David Archuleta is one too. Also amazing is I am an Aries! P.S. Happy,#270…yep, sounds like me. Ask my husband how “confident, enthusiastic, and energetic I get when my ODD is showing!

Marlie – hey happy bday girl! In Chinese astrology, 2009 is the Year of the Ox — it’s my year
Yes djb am small and we can very well plan for that smuggling ops. I better re-apply for my visa soon then. I would not miss a FanVention!
<juliebug on #252 – Omy, you slay me JB! LMAO!
SF – It wasn’t apparent in the videos that the security were tight during David’s NYE performance, nor were they telling of the size & and of how rowdy the audience were, except when David was signalling this “pushing” thingy during CRUSH which I got to mean that he was signalling the audience to be mindful of those in front.
The vibe that I got from the NYE vids was that it was like a family affair — like when David finished and his family and friends were with him onstage! I thought that was cool and which was why I think he was so dang happy that night
But since the venue was in a university, I am not surprised about how frisky the security was. They tend to be like that in school, right?

Ronaldsf, thanks for that video of Judy Garland. The performance and the song speak for themselves. I’m posting because I see some “Judy” in David. For example, Judy allowed all of her vulnerability to show when she performed. David’s AI performance of “Love Me Tender” showed David at his most vulnerable, and is still my favorite performance of his. It literally overwhelms me to watch it. Judy had a tragic life, but she could express all kinds of feelings through her music. People usually consider Streisand to be the best female singer ever. I think it’s Judy because of the emotional connection she had to the songs and with the audience, who adored her.
The audience has the same relationship with David. Like Judy, the audience is there as much to be with David as they are to be entertained by him. We know where Judy’s
emotional energy came from. With David, it’s still a mystery. It’s real, but where does it come from? There is nothing in his young life that would explain how he can sing a song like “Imagine” or “Love Me Tender” or “Somebody Out There” and transfer so much beautiful, pure, feeling to the listener. That mystery is part of his mystique. Stay tuned.

Ronaldsf #319- I had rediscovered Judy Garland, beyond the “Wizard of Oz” just this past summer, all because of David. I have read people’s comments comparing David to Judy, so when the Utah Symphony had a special performance of Judy Garland “Live”, I went to the concert. I was greatly impressed. Judy sang with such longing and such depth of feeling you couldn’t help but get carried away. Lamblisskasden explains it much better than I ever could. Was it a post of yours, lamblisskasden that convinced me to go? hmm… All I know is that I have rediscovered music because of David and his fans.
And, I was born under the sign of Virgo in the year of the Tiger, so that makes me a Maiden Tigress- hear me roar!
jackryan4DA . January 2, 2009 .
Hey guys! Thank you for sharing your birthday assignations. It is cool to find out and have some AHA moment with the info shared. Like, why am I not surprised that HG, SF & Rascal are all April born?
Or that we have a number of Virgo, Taurus and Aquirian in the house! Am glad to know that Freo is also a Capricorn like Marlie, myself and of course, David! Juliebug as a Sag is a surprise! Haha, that was fun!
For a song which came out the 2nd semester of the year and end up as the 43rd most donwloaded song in 2008, now #4 in Radio Disney, and a chartbuster (as listed in previous thread) — miiiiiighty impressive from a newbie
RONALD – thanks for sharing the Ms. Garland’s vid. MAGICAL.
Kizzi . January 2, 2009 .
happy – I’m Aquarius – Feb 6 is by BD too!! And, I am unpredicta-bold which has created very interesting situations for me–lol.
ronadlsf – Have you seen the young Judy in the “Andy Hardy” films? TCM ran a day of Andy Hardy films (featuring Mickey Rooney) a week or so ago and I saw so many David comparisons as she progressed through the films–her vocal performances were awesome, soulful and jazzy at that young age.
bliss – “Love Me Tender” is my most watched AI performance on my iPod. Pure perfection at every level and the tenderness and beauty of the total performance, to me, rivals, if not exceeds, “Imagine.” It didn’t & doesn’t get enough credit.
olemr2001 . January 2, 2009 .
Apparently I am not the only one who keeps returning to David’s a cappella offering of “Silent NIght” on jwipe’s channel. I found a full page of moving comments left there, all from within the last 24 hours.
Missed out on some fun discussion (as usual) in the late and wee hours. So, no other Geminis? I’m thinking the Geminis are the ones that flit around to all of the sites, as I do. Anyone?
rascal . January 2, 2009 .
ronald — as a fellow “friend of Dorothy’s” (as we used to say), I am thrilled that you are now beginning to discover Judy. It’s an emotional journey, but also filled with chutzpah and wonder and lots of the ‘ol razzle dazzle. Whatever you do, don’t miss Judy at Carnagie Hall, a legendary concert that is truly astonishing on every play. Judy had it all, at least when it came to performing. Her audiences embraced her with a degree of affection few other performers have ever known. I wrote about some of the parallels between Judy and David here.
Bliss — #323 — It is virtually impossible to express pathos, longing, grief, or any other of life’s dark side without having had real experience with it. David’s public persona is not at all disengenuous but neither is it by any means the whole story. There may appear to be something of a cognitive disconnect between the depth of the soul we feel in performance and the sweet, light nature of the wide-eyed young man whose most boisterous expression is “gosh,” but I think we need to ask ourselves which one conveys the fuller story. There is far more to David and to his circumstances than meets the eye. It doesn’t matter what those circumstances are — only that he is someone who is vulnerable enough to have processed them with great sensitivity and strong enough to channel that emotional intelligence into art.
SF & others RE the NYE concert: It’s hard to know where the breakdowns were, but, as usual, I choose to take the long view. It is important for David to take stock of what works for him and what doesn’t. It does concern me at times that he seems so eager to please that he might fail to protect himself and agree to things that he probably shouldn’t, but I quickly remind myself that David is no fool and no patsy. He’ll go along for a time, maybe for quite some time, but in his own gentle, diplomatic way, he will eventually put his foot down. It may not come soon enough for some of our tastes, but it will happen. The only other thing I’ll say about the proper channeling of David’s engagements is that the ultimate responsibility for this falls on his management.
joymus . January 2, 2009 .
Oh Ronald – Thank You for that Judy Garland link – it made me cry this morning.
IMHO, David is not yet quite at that level because Judy seemed to bring all her life experiences to bear in that performance. We all know she had a difficult one at best so her dream of a better life somewhere over the rainbow could be felt by all.
At this moment of David’s development he is like a medium – when he’s connected to a song, he is able to transfer that emotion then we in turn feel HIS connectivity. I was watching video of his Crush at the Atlanta Jingle Jam – he was rocking the heck out of that song and I went along with him for the ride.
I believe that as he matures in terms of personal and professional relationships we will see the gradual transfer of those experiences into his performances. Its still amazing to me though how he can project so much emotion into say the ALTNOY vid without having had a relationship experience. This all bodes well for the future.
ronaldsf . January 2, 2009 .
bliss #323, I love the comparison of Judy with David. Perhaps that connection is what made me subconsciously post the link here? Pure honesty and emotion! And Judy gave that performance on live (actually live!) TV!
Kizzi #326, I definitely would like to check out those movies. Not familiar with Andy Hardy though – did he do “Meet Me in St. Louis”? Months ago on IDF on a Christmas song thread I was plugging away for David to cover HYAMLC, as it has long been a favorite of mine.
“Love Me Tender”, “Imagine”, and SMM for me were his performances that were the most tender and emotional for me. And among those I put LMT on top of the list because I was awed by David’s own reinterpretation. I was immediately raving about it, though on IDF a majority were excited by SBM. I actually couldn’t understand why – perhaps because David revealed in SBM a new level of schmex appeal
olemr2001 #327, yeah while going through David youtube videos yesterday I noticed how jwipe’s “Silent Night” video is getting a huge number of views (116,543 at this writing… almost as much as the 1000 Miles video). There’s something about this performance… I for one love how he sings “All is caaalm…”
Just saw this great comment on the “Silent Night” video from a wfhardy:
David is the biggest, dorkiest Clark Kent on the planet. But when he starts to sing he is immediately transformed into SUPERMAN and no other artist can touch him. This boy is never off-key, he never hits a bad note. David is beyond talented, I swear he’s from another galaxy! I could listen to him forever (I intend to). I hope by this time next year he will have released a Christmas CD, hopefully Jive realizes that it will sell like gangbusters. This has been such a great year for David!
SandyBeaches . January 2, 2009 .
Should we talk out loud about what may happen as he matures personally and professionally…?
Just a thought but should we have the ideas and answers about David and what he should and probably will be doing?
Are we always and should we be speculating about his future and how he should handle it or how it will become?
I think that we are getting too personal with our hopes and too personal expressing them (for David who may actually read them) and his life becomes one more of expectations…He says that as the bar of expectations rises (not his words but his thoughts), he becomes more nervous before performing..
His life and career are in his hands and let us enjoy his moments and music. Just my thoughts.
rascal . January 2, 2009 .
SandyBeaches — I don’t know which comments you are referring to, but two thoughts in response:
First, speculating on David’s future prospects and career direction probably makes up for at least a third of what gets discussed about him by his biggest fans. The possibility of limiting this kind of thing is precisely zero. At the very least, it is exciting and interesting to consider what may lie ahead and, I would argue, potentially instructive for anyone (including David) who might be interested enough to read it. In my opinion there is very little downside to the contemplation of possibilities.
Second, the raising of expectations is inevitable. Barbra Streisand tells the story of when she was all of 19 or 20 and appeared on the Judy Garland show on CBS and how she was quite astonished and rather bemused at how nervous Judy was before going on–Judy, one of the most revered performers in the world, audiences at her feet, mountains of awards and accolades. Thirty years later Barbra exclaimed, “I understand now.”
Kizzi . January 2, 2009 .
#331 ronaldsf – She was in three “Andy Hardy” films; those films are simple fare and she is not the top featured character but her vocal performances are the highlights. Details are at: http://www.thejudyroom.com/discography/soundtracks/andyhardy.html. You can even listen to the songs they cut from the films.
Freofan . January 2, 2009 .
About the NYE concert, I read that he did it as a favor to the Osmonds and that it was planned a year ago. I would have liked to have seen him in a more publicized (televised) performance. David Cook was in Vegas performing on the televised Fox NYE concert, but I guess that was a perk of his situation on AI.
joymus . January 2, 2009 .
Thank You Rascal for coming to the rescue!
#333 – SB, mentioned one of my comments at the top and I was beginning to feel quite offended. Why would you want to take away my right as a fan of David want to speculate about his future as a performer? *Shakes head*
Fans of any movie star or singer out there discuss this sort of thing all the time. Apart from which – it is a known fact that David’s family and friends monitor his fansites. Who’s to say maybe even his management and Jive as well. David has an upcoming tour this year. I am sure as professional as he is he will take into consideration some of the ideas for song and venue choices proposed by US his fans. As David says all the time – he would not be anywhere without us. Was he not asking his fans on the Silent Night YT Clip – what would they like for him to sing?
SandyBeaches . January 2, 2009 .
rascal…All quite correct and understood…I get the feeling that we are trying to guide his career instead of stepping back and letting him move along as he is…In my sight I see us with too many suggestions sometimes and that may take away from him personally or that he cannot make the correct decisions for himself…
This is just a feeling that I get and as he said people want to know every little thing about you and that has surprised him somewhat I am sure…Perhaps I would like to see more privacy given to him by us, but can he get that anywhere now? Just my thoughts. I have seen famous sports people lose their performing edge because of all of the attention given, all of the time needed for autographs and not enough down time for rest.
SandyBeaches . January 2, 2009 .
#337…I am sorry that you have misunderstood my comments…
SandyBeaches . January 2, 2009 .
rascal…perhaps I cannot express to you correctly what I am trying to say and maybe I will be able to at a later time…
ronaldsf . January 2, 2009 .
#334 rascal, yes that has been a concern of mine for David, that expectations will inevitably rise as his fame grows. I remember reading articles or hearing interviews on YouTube where Barbra is already resenting the chi-chi Broadway audience on the opening night of “Funny Girl” in 1964, and then dreading performing for her 2nd television special in 1966. It seemed like the pressure got to her at some point and that the joy she felt at performing live that was so evident in her 1st TV special had somehow faded. Part of it too was that the media, after chronicling her meteoric rise, seemed more interested in finding flaws in the jewel. And then years later she seemed less enthusiastic about singing and wanted to move on to acting. Just my impressions… perhaps I’m off about Barbra, but that definitely does seem to be an inevitable consequence of success and high expectations.
For David, though, I hope he stays grounded and true to his relationship with his true fans. By true fans, I mean the ones who stuck by him through all the criticism and stereotyping he faced during AI, who love him fervently and unconditionally. Not focus on the critics and the elite who will heap praise on him at some point on the future.
I would imagine that’s the best way to deal with unfairly high expectations, and David seems especially inclined in that regard.
Oh, and by the way, here I am giving “advice” LOL. But I guess I’m a fan that way…
ronaldsf . January 2, 2009 .
Is it spelled “shi shi”? I don’t know LOL
joymus . January 2, 2009 .
Sandy Beaches – Apology accepted.
We’re ALL on David’s ride to the top together. In all the fan interaction vids I’ve ever seen of David – one thing is clear – he THRIVES off of the energy. This is the biggest difference from his performances on AI to now. On AI he was being critiqued after every performance and he sort of withdrew a bit into himself. Now he’s just performing without as much restriction in the past and loving it well. Speculation to me only adds a layer of comfort for a performer. He tried ATM at the Tree Lightning and it then became a permanent fixture at the Jingle Jams. Why? Because the crowds reacted positively and sang along with him. As a performer he’s learning to fulfill not only our expectations but his as well.
silverfox . January 2, 2009 .
It’s entirely too early in the day to cry, but cry I did cuz of
ronald’s link#320.I would love to hear David sing SOTR!
I think, like Imagine he would “own it”.
rascal..as I was reading your post, your comment to Bliss, I got chills! Every word you said is right on. I keep reading your post over & over..It’s exactly what I have felt for so long and more so as time goes on, but was hesitant to put into words cuz I couldn’t find the right words without sounding, uh, I don’t know, like I didn’t know what I was talking about? and as Bliss said, “stay tuned”.
I know some may not agree with me here, but I really feel that not only is David going to become known as one of the greatest singers ever, but a great actor as well. It’s inevitable..if he can put the emotions into song that can bring us to tears, why not the same with a movie character. He can & will do it. And I’m not talking about “Disney” here, either.
As for NYE concert in Orem, Utah (not on any map I could find). Of course, he agreed to do it as a favor, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was gratis..thus only 2 songs. David, I think was pro-buh-blee invited to other more prestigious & star-studded events, but where his family & friends may not have been able to attend. I also think it was not a mgmt decision. It was a DAVID decision, so the compromise was the 2 songs only..JMHO..and I have lots of those, ya know!
Happy 2009 to all! May love and laughter fill the coming year for you and your loved ones!
Now that is exceptional rascal….!!!
Happy New Year to everyone…
Just when I think R4D will not, can not out do one of his masterpieces..he comes out with another! Beautiful!
Thank you rascal!!
To answer Deb from the previous thread..I do buh-lieve David will be coming out with a message very, very soon…so hold on!
Happy New Year to all here at notingDavid!…… may 2009 bring peace, joy, and contentment to you….and much love……
Best
Beauty, laughter and tears. That’s why I come here daily. Happy New Year to all you delightful people!
Oh the typos! I meant that my thoughts WILL include David. And the sentence should’ve said the impact he’D have on us. And that “Best” wasn’t supposed to be there at all, but since it is, I also wish the “Best” to all of you.
Which is course is David. May we all have ample opportunity to appreciate and support David in 2009.
davidfanLIZ, “Happy New Year to all you delightful people!” is right!
Karenkid Hi! Have a Happy New Year and thank you for all you do!
Happy New Year to all of you! R4D just does a beautiful job, and how adorable is David? Can’t be any cuter. Hope everyone is safe today and tonight and brings in the new year with the Archadorable!
Kait, nice post…nice to hear you watched during Star Search days…seems so long ago. What a difference a year makes! David’s music sure got me through some tough times this year.
SF, I bet we will be hearing from David very soon! Anyone planning on listening to the Snarky’s cellcast tonight?
Almost forgot…Happy New Year to you, David!! If anyone ever had reason to look back on a year with pride it is you. Thank you for working so hard and taking so much time for your fans, even when you were sick. Thank you for your courage and integrity in a world where these qualities have become so rare. So many changes have taken place; you may feel in the year to come a little overwhelmed. I want to share with you these words from George Bernard Shaw…”This is the true joy of life: the being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature…” Be happy. We love you.
I hope this is accurate! There is a report at IDF that “Crush” had sales in the 128k to 129k range for the past week, and that would be its second biggest sales week! (The biggest sales week was the week of its debut in August.)

Happy New Years!
This is a really cool song. I like listening to it. haha

Happy New Year David!!
Just lucky Angelica – little kids are napping; big kids are off to Uncle’s townhouse to play videos, mow lawn (the 8 yo thinks this is a real treat–lol) and hubby is napping for big night tonight. His 95 yo mother is dressing in silver lame and glitter for tonight’s festivities –
I told you all we would be hearing from David …good things come to those who wait.! But…
Dang! IT took him long enough!!
SF, you’re a puddle of mush since your last visit with our dear David. I saw your pictures, you are so cute! I know you would be someone I’d hang out with. You really crack me up! BTW, I do the same thing, call David’s # just to give myself a pick me up during the day. There’s just something about hearing his voice and his laugh that just makes life better.
Kizzi…better psychic, than psycho, which is how I come across sometimes, I’m sure!! And I’ve been called “witchy woman” too! haha! I would have put a spell on David, if that were true..instead he put one on ME..again!!
Erin..Oh, you noticed how I’m worse now than ever! No use pretending…just call me “mush-mama”!
The dream of having a David Fanvention is still a dream that’s alive & kicking! i’m hoping it’ll come true somday soon!
mush mama, I mean SF, I’m so obsessed, I have a had time getting work done, all I listen to is David….crazy, in heaven, done shopping around….but it’s another day in paradise here…I can’t stop
~Happy New Year to All ! ~
~Looking forward to a blessed and happy, healthy David filled 2009 ~
~Thank you David for touching our hearts in a way only YOU CAN and bringing us all together~
~and thank you Rascal for this warm and welcoming site for us who “get” David to gather.
~~Peace to All~~
Erin oh Erin you are so witty and creative! …David needs to release a new CD just to keep you going!! ..I know I would buy it !!
Rabid.. just wow!
I think it was all part of God’s plan to show people that this precious boy could stumble and pick himself up and then sing the most beautiful song ” Long winding road”.
djb,
I’m thinking of writing a poem using all of David’s songs.. ha, ha…can’t wait for the next CD though, so I have more material to work with…he, he
Erin..Hon, listen to mush-mama, take deep breaths!
I also want to tell David… I’m a little too not over you, and neither is Erin! see what you dun to us!!
ok, mush-mama, I just love it!!! I’m a little too not over him, that’s for sure…Even when I go to McDonalds, I see David….Arch card, ha, ha…you see I can’t stop and neither can you mush-mama….
Erin…hahahaha! You are so funny!! I do buh-lieve we will have a big laugh fest at the David Fanvention!!
djb..I know what you look like..I know what you look like! and happy, and HG, and Kizzi, and refnaf, and TOfan, and ninaf, and bluebarsa! Not fair that you know me and I not know you..but now I do!! Pretty ladies!
Thank you happy!
mush-mama #43 – you are soooooooo funny!!! Do you know how much joy you bring to all of us???? I can’t imagine what it will be like when we all manage to get together someday – we will need at least a week together – with all the laughs, the tears (of joy) and the reminiscing – did I say laughs?
thank you SF!…So now you can see that we are a safe bunch..right?..no rulers needed?..as long as happy leaves the brownies home..haha..next time you too will be in that picture!! along with THE VOICE..at the Fanvention!!…
Can you imagine all of us all together and of course David there. I think poor David would be tackled though, or pinched, tickled to death…ha, ha. I’m still laughing at you much-mama, aka car lady!
archiesfan..Can you spell B-L-A-S-T?? that’s what we will have when we get together to talk about who else…David!! And how cra-zeh he’s made some otherwise grown, sane adults! I still shake my head at how absurd yet wonderful it all is!
ROTFL … we must make this fanvention happen. We are a pretty bunch, but safe… not so sure
refnaf~ROFL…shhhhh!!
djb..come on now..looks can be deceiving..you don’t LOOK like you are all goo-goo-eyed over a teenager, and neither do I, and neither does Erin, and pro-buh-blee neither does anyone else here..but brownies or no brownies..David is our drug..like laughing gas..he makes us happy! So even tho you look like a “safe bunch” I do know betta! Look at how calm, cool & collected we look on the group pic in my vid of Atlanta…I’m not even smiling! Oh but, that’s cuz David & I were going to the airport but not togetha !!
So Erin… is SF mush-mama or much-mama? I need to keep my names straight…At my age I’m very easily confused.
De-lurking long enough to wish David, the Archuleta family, Rascal, and everyone here at ND a very happy, healthy, prosperous New Year! Cheers!
I was thinking that the best place to have a fanvention would be in a zoo..oops, I mean a park! That way, we won’t have to worry about getting kicked out of a hotel or arrested for loud and obnoxious behavior ( and that’s SOBER, too ). I’m jus’ lookin’ out for ya’ll…
Kurt..you are a real cutie! uh-oh..that’s David..I thought it was…oh never mind…
Happy New Year and Cheers to you too!
SF – You are in rare form tonight! I loved that composition you sent to Erin!! You guys are too much.
And Bliss – your posts are so beautiful & insightful. Thank you.
I feel like a bit of an outsider here because I only post occasionally, but I do check in here every day to see what you lovely folks have to say. And I just can’t let 2008 end & 2009 begin without sending warm thanks to all of you for the blessing you have been to me this year & wishing you a bright & glorious new year! This is a special place indeed!
refnaf, oh it’s mush-mama…because she’s a puddle of mush, just like I am most of the time..brownies still work for me though, ha, ha…I know I was pretending to be all calm too when I saw David…oh, yes, I’m thinking again of me and him sitting on the couch as we ate Spinkles cupcakes…oh my! All I could think of is, is this really happening?
thanks for the clarification Erin cause at post #48 … I read much-mama lol…. I think we need to hear that story again… sofa, sprinkles cupcakes… Did that really happen!! haha
Bliss I adore your posts as well…
Erin…oh no! do not remind us of you & David sitting on a couch eating cupcakes…Waaahhhh! I am so jealous..oh i’m sorry, I apologize!
Deb..you are not an outsider here! No one is! especially when you say you love me! hahaha-hooohoo!
I crack myself up sometimes!
Erin..you have created a MONSTER-Mush-mama! And I’m gonna behave now..
Let’s get it on….
marlie7, tawna21, Deb – glad that you enjoyed the Q100 interview p2. Here is part 1 to complete the set:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ml3smh
This one is a bit smaller 121MB, but again, so worth it
JR,,, you get the linker award… awesome job.
Happy New Year, everyone! We have lots to look forward to this year!
Thank you, SF!! I do love you!! Is it okay if I call you Mush-Mama too?
JR4DA – I love that line from Aly McBeal. I shed plenty of tears of sadness & joy in 2008, so it was not a wasted year. I am, however, looking forward to a fresh new 2009!! Hopefully, filled with lots & lots of David!!
And THANK YOU for the next part of the Q100 interview. It’s downloading as we speak!!
I just watched the “Potter Puppet Pals in “The Mysterious Ticking Noise”. It’s so funny! And imagining David and his sibs doing this is just so cool! Thanks Kizzi for the link.
tawna21 and rae, Hi! from 2 (?) threads ago. It seems like we have many more as of late who have delurked. It’s great to hear new voices. Bliss, I love your comments.
LOL!!!
Awww … Mamasaun … I’m soooo excited for you!! I hope you have a blast tonight!!
FANS ON DAVID!!
Bwaahaaa!
Hello all,
I don’t post here often because unfortunately I’m the only one in my immediate family who “gets” David…long story…
I’m curious about it.
mamasaun…OMGosh..your first time..that is soo special! and on New Year’s Eve!
SF – Never too late – he doesn’t sing for another 5 hours
SF you are cracking me up! As usual!
Mamasaun – I am pea green with envy! I’ve never seen him live.
I shall have to rectify that this year.
I surely will.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWrrTriSVTM
Neato Keano kiddos….
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…
mamasaun..oh yeah, but I read that it was decided that he will also sing something with the Osmonds..at the earlier show? right?
Are you on Pacific or Mountain time? I’m so confused! I knew I would be regretting not going BIG TIME! woe is me!!
Before I forget…
Happy David Years, my lovies!
SF – Richard posted on FOD today that David will not be singing at the earlier event. He said he’ll be arriving in time to sing around 11:30 & then be leaving to ring in the new year with a large group of friends & family. He warned everyone that there will most likely NOT be M&G opportunities.
SF – Yikes . . if he sings with Osmonds, I will be missing it. They told me at the box office that he is only singing at the dance at 11:30 MST
Deb – smanda will be very sad if we don’t get to meet with David . . she brought a gift all the way from Oregon for him. Apparently Jeff knows she is coming . . what to do . . hmmmm
mamasaun..I guess I was wrong about David singing with the Osmonds.
Deb, that’s too bad if David arrives at 11:30, and leaves before 12:00?? Is Richard included in the group of friends & family?
;
I just have to share that I think it is SO cool that David (and his siblings) know about the Harry Potter Puppet Pals. A music teacher friend introduced me to them last summer and I think they are a scream. My friend actually found a way to incorporate them into his music class.
SF – Richard is not; he is spending the evening with his own family.
Mamasaun – don’t give up hope! If Jeff knows about your friend, then he is likely to make it possible for her to meet David. He is amazing in that way.
SF Utah is on mountain time.
So… David will leave before midnight? I thought he would be singing to bring in the new year.
mamasaun..if Jeff knows smanda came all the way from Oregon, I’m sure it’ll work out.
Can I just say this? I really like all of you!
Life is good sometimes.
Like most of the time!
betsy – What a lovely thing to say. Yes, you really MUST get to a show this year to see David live!
Deb – Thank you for posting that. We will just keep our fingers crossed. Maybe he will be there with a date or something . . and will even dance . . that would be so fun. It is a New Years Eve dance . . after all . .
You’re welcome, Mamasaun. Have a grand time tonight!!
If you’re not close enough for the real thing, blow David a big kiss for all of us at midnight!!
God bless!
SF/52~ok, did you say “goo-goo eyed”..LOL…and #55..ROFLMAO .really..you are a wise silverfox!!..You are looking out for us aren’t you..I think brownies are involved tonight!!…too funny….
They will enjoy the concert – Rockapella is GREAT – but the probably won’t see David . . very sad.
RAPTURE on #75 re the new ALTNOY re-mix
Snarkies’ post: ALTNOY producer/co-writer Mike K:
It’s the same version that appears on the ALTNOY video on itunes.”
“The radio mix is the same version, just a little big bigger and hi-fi sounding…. in general just sounds better
In any case..I think mamasaun & smanda will have an unforgettable New Year’s Eve!
mamasaun, I’m so excited for you!
WOW! I just realized that my buddy smanda is going to be there too. I’m sending hugs and prayers for both of you!
valbraz – Happy New Year to you! Hope your cats are okay!!
SF – hahaha – your are just too much . . just too much!
And to think I simply wanted to see my redwoods
Hah!
I wonder if it will help if I wear an Archie shirt when I apply? LOL
mamasaun #99..I think the promoters of the events should have made it clear that David was not going to appear at the first event. And if David knew there were so many people there just for him because of a miscommunication in the promotion of the events, he would not be happy. I hope his fans who are there now hoping to see him will know it was not David’s decision not to show..I’m hoping word gets to him, and he does make a surprise appearance! That would be totally like David!
erin4david,thanks for your kind words.
Oh well, it’s never too late.
betsy – New Age Hippie – I absolutely love that!
SF – I really wish he would make a surprise appearance. Then my two children who are at the concert would be converted! And they would quit making fun of me! When my daughter called for concert tickets they told her David would not be singing at the concert – just the dance. However, I think a newspaper article messed up the whole thing . . too bad . . I guess there was a huge lack of communication . .

Chart Watch Extra: The Year That Songs Overtook Albums
http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart_watch/25945/chart-watch-extra-the-year-that-songs-overtook-albums/
Pertinent portion of the article:
BTW, the original source of Snarkies’ awesome bunch of numbers is Idol Chatter — http://blogs.usatoday.com/idolchatter/
ALTNOY will give the album & Crush more legs. I hope David makes a slew of appearances on TV and radio stations for the ALTNOY launch while of course doing more songwriting HAHA!
Well he is a master in multi-tasking, right?
Hi everyone! Oh my on those Crush numbers! Amazing, exciting, and fantastic!
And wow with that Happy New Year by R4D!
What talent!
SF: Fanvention sounds great! Count me in.
Yes I was excited to see the new blog too…All is right in the world when we “hear” from David, and of course when I see the evening prayer…oops, I mean first amendment protected “message” from SF.
( sorry…could not help it)
Happy New Year to all at ND!
SF – the more I think about it, the more I think David might make a surprise appearance . . after all – the reason he is on the program at all (it was planned a year ago) – is because the Osmond’s wanted him there, and they are performing at the first venue – the concert . . . hmmm . . maybe I should leave for Orem now!
rae…That’s a good one!! The Protected Message..yeah i like that!
See, David..Everyone wants a Fanvention..all we need now is a tour schedule!!
It’s now 3 hrs til David’s performance..
mamasaun..I would not be a bit surprised! So go and have a great time!!!
Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year everyone!
Carly? Hello! And Happy New Year to you too!
Almost midnight EST…5 mins to 2009!
One hour, 30 mins til David’s performance!
Happy New Year everyone in the EST time zone!
Hi Everyone!
Happy New Year!!
It’s sure good to be back – I really missed everyone over the past 2 weeks. I resisted the urge to go locate internet access where I was so I now feel totally and mentally refreshed for all things David in the coming year.
Happy New Year everyone!
Peace and blessings for 2009! I came on here right after getting a New Year’s text message from David! ha ha!
Nothing like ringing in the new year with friends, family, and those you admire.
CONTIGO SIEMPRE CON AMOR!
jackryan4DA: Thanks for the ALTNOY info!
Happy New Year to all!

NYE MINI-CONCERT
Update: Mom at 12:22 a.m.: “Just followed Davhds limo as far as we could. We were trying to get food.”
And AMY is right now dancing a storm to Britney’s Hit Me Baby… I love that girl (not Britney of course). She & David would look good together w/o the diabetic effect! Haha
Happy New Year to all!…and to all a good night. Wait….that was last week… hahaha!
BTW SF, so we can get our stories straight.. what is KY again? LOL
David’s set is over..hope he has a great rest of the night!
David’s family was there with him and he hugged his mom & sisters at midnight. Sweet!
There’s a big interest in what he was wearing! haha!
JR…good thing I peeked back in to see if anyone was here at rasca’s.
KY is Kentucky…and if they ask,,WHY KY? Just say “my long lost grandmama loves horses and the KY Derby”,
that should do it!
Happy New Year to everyone at ND.

Here is a more complete video of David’s performance at NYE courtesy of MOM887

She was in the moshpit!
SMANDA – great to hear of your experience of seeing David at New Year!
BTW, MOM887 vid includes ALTNOY already
Thanks, Smanda, for the quick recap. I have watched the links provided by JR and the videos at Snarky, and though I was thousands of miles away, I could feel the intimacy between David and the people there. So much love and joy in circulation!
It must be quite an experience for you and Mamasaun who got to see David perform live for the first time. Sorry you had no opportunity to deliver your gift.
mamasaun and smanda – Thanks so very much for the updates and sharing your New Year’s Eve experience!!
Oh, and if you haven’t listened to David’s performance of Crush all the way through, do so, he changes up the end and it is fantastic – a real treat. He refreshes it, yet again! Gaahhh–1st ODD moment of 2009–lol!
Happy New Year to everybody!
In this video of “Crush” from last night you can hear some of the crowd singing along with David, all through the song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLcFwi1KSKU
Did you see him jumping up and down the stage as he touches hands with his fans, towards the end of the countdown video? He was among his loved ones.He was doing his thing and having a blast. That’s what’s important.
Great way to start 2009
Let’s hear it from the man himself:
David Happy New Year Voice Message
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftsw-2_SBxs
I guess you noticed how the host introduced David last night: “He won the biggest competition in the whole wide world, American idol!” David knew better than to try to correct him here; he just started singing.
OMG! Here is David’s first concert of 2009 and his debut as an 18 year old!

It was fun staying up late again for the cellcast from Utah. Then to have the video up this morning was “just too much”.
Abrra
Forgive me for posting duplicate information. I have a habit of reading the posts from bottom to top and I didn’t see that I was late to the party.
/sigh
Abrra
Thanks for that, Ronald.
jackryan4DA #61: Thanks again!
“Somebody Out There” is a beautiful song, my favorite song on the album.
Oh my 131 Bliss: If they still don’t “get it” I tell them to listen to “Somebody Out There” or “O Holy Night” before I certify them as legally dead. Legally dead- Too funny!
I would add Crazy to that list ( David’s song, not the state of the legally dead people who don’t get it)
Good morning all and happy new year.
Olemr – guess you already knew that . . I was typing whilst you were #162 haha
#164, 165 mamasaun, Thanks nevertheless!
Mamasaun, thanks so much for your report, and thanks to everyone who posted vid links from last night. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year than watching/hearing David sing! Happy New Year, everyone!
#164 mamasaun, Thanks also for your insider’s report. It was especially interesting to hear about the ages of the fans and about security.
smanda and mamasaun, thank you so much for your reports! The excitement is palpable. What a great way to start the new year!
Mamasaun: Thanks for the report! Gosh, security everywhere he goes will need to be heightened as his fame grows. That is too bad about crowd.
ronaldsf #156
Wow!
Good morning everyone!
Just saw this amazing tribute for David by Jenny @ FOD on youtube..really beautiful..check it out..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRUv5lZgLQs
As for Somebody Out There..I chose this song for my Close Encounter vid specifically in hopes that some who haven’t heard it and watch the vid and like the song, will spread the word about it..The only way this beautiful song is going to be heard by the masses is if WE promote it OR if it’s on David’s next album. What I’m going to do when ALTNOY is realeased to the radio stations, I when I call to request it, I will mention SOT as well and ask if I can send them a copy of it.
mamasaum!
#149 The security comments have reminded me of remarks I saw at the video linked here. That video is from youtube user josiahezra, who wrote, “Keep in mind I was being smashed like a sardine the whole time I videoed. It was crazy and hot!!!”
I think I saw somewhere (someone will have to confirm this for me) that Jive will make SOT and WFM available on iTunes in a few months. Some of us thought ‘a few months?! Why not right away!’
mamasaun, too bad about the bad sound system.
Did you see David’s new year’s resolution to learn more about the business and songwriting?
I like his resolution! David has already shown promise as a songwriter, and if he can further develop that, I believe that he will be a huge force in the music industry and will also write for other artists, too.
vermeer – I am LOVING your new avatar!!! Beautiful!
I LOVE it! Oh, David!
David, please try to schedule Indy or Chicago dates on a Saturday or Sunday, and be able to talk about my great day with my co-workers. I don’t think I can finagle another Ford Day trip again mid-week (wink – wink)
If you schedule for Sat. or Sun., then I will be able to talk about my great day openly (I should have said). Of course, David if *you* want to be able to talk about my great day with my co-workers, that’s great, too, because that means that I’d have a special visitor to my workplace!
#184 valbraz, I agree with you about “Waiting for Yesterday.” I really love the melody and the driving rhythm of that song.
I was just on my charter site. What pops up at celebtv.com? Top breakout teen stars of 08. Yup, David is there. Along with the predictable Jo Bros..
David, please come to michigan. I can’t leave the state to go to a concert. I am trying to stay under the radar around my family. They already think I am a nutjob!
davidfanLIZ, your own list of requests! LOL! We can ask right? I’m with you on every point! Thanks for liking my new avatar. Something new for the new year.
freofan, thanks for the earplugs for hunters tip! Great to know there is such a thing. I’ll have to go get some before the solo tour, to be used only for the other act if any of course.
I think this has been posted before. An “angel dance party” on WFY. They are having a ball! Makes me want to get up and join them. Actually I do!

TOfan,
That’s funny! Why leave the comfort of your home in that case? They were probably very young. Children appreciate familiarity and routine. Ha ha!
I’ve been listening to the aol sessions again. I forgot how great they are. Really outstanding. How can I still get chills from something I’ve heard so many times?
Vermeer, my friend is a huge U2 fan and he said that the hunter’s earplugs really do help with the loud sound. They are made to protect your hearing from gun firing, so they work very well for concerts. The ones he showed me are encased in plastic and thick foam in the middle. He said that they cost about $15 and you can often find them in the hunting section of stores like Dick’s, Wal-Mart, etc. He said that you can most likely find them in a sporting goods store like Dick’s, though.
Joner, I love him in horizontal stripes! You’ll hear from me soon!
#200 happy, Amen.
S/O venues for sure!
vermeer #190 Cute vid – I haven’t seen that before.
SF, you said: Hopefully it’ll be someone that we won’t need earplugs for.
I laughed so hard at that! That we’re already talking about getting heavy-duty earplugs to make it through the other acts before we get to David!
Sneaking on here at work real quick. KSL-TV has video of David’s performance at Utah’s Governor’s inauguration from 4 years ago.
I thought you might like to see…
http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=5198516
Hope everyone is having/ had a wonderful New Year!
marlie.. you were looking at his legs?? HOW COULD YOU?? heh-heh! It’s so funny that one of the questions last night at snarky’s cellcast was “what is he wearing?” Why is it so important to us to know details like that? He has totally made us go bonkers! We notice everything, from his hair to what color sneakers he’s wearing..it just boggles the mind! We are CRA-ZEH!
#208 cutter12, Wow!! Thanks.
cutter..thank you for that link…David had just turned 14 then and his voice was great then too..but this year he is gonna BLOW them away!!
Anyone going to that inauguration on the 5Th? And what about the Hard Rock Cafe in NY on the 12th?
I wonder if David is going to perform at the Presidential inauguration, or just guesting? Can’t think of anyone who could do a better job of singing the Nat Anthem.
Marlie #204 – We can now admit to looking at those well muscled legs. He is legal!
(We all do it)
Cutter #208 – Thanks for the link. Young David!
Hi vermeer – I wish I had looked over to see you waving at him in Sacramento. As it was, I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage!
silverfox and betsey: LOL!
And if his tour is anywhere in New York State, or nearby, I’ll be there trying to not scream out like I did at the Rochester AI tour (thankfully my son’s girlfriend was screaming with me – my son, on the other hand was laughing at us).
vermeer…”in love”?? We are in love with David?
Uh…well gosh..you may be right! I mean, I know I’m in love with his voice, his eyes, his face, his laugh, his personality, etc, etc, so when you put it all together as a whole..you get DAVID!! WOW..I ARE in love!! hee-hee, with an 18 YO!! And so is everyone else! That is funny!!
marlie..it’s ok, cuz you are “in love”! haha!
David definitely needs to find his true love, so we can “get over” him! ( but not his VOICE) hahahaha!
I am excited about an updated inauguration video on Monday! In watching the one from four years ago, I was amazed at how much he has improved technically, and I also noticed him licking his lips a few times.
David will be singing on my bday
Am 47 people,!
Great one!
This may seem like old news but it’s a beautifully up close vid of ATM in Buffalo that includes the delay with the keyboard (during which David managed to keep a packed arena spellbound):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XucKMloYLec

SF~An Aries..I knew it !!
Wishing you all peace and blessings for 2009.
djb..why did you know I was an Aries? Funny how a lot of people tell me that when they find out I’m an Aries..they say I KNEW IT! hahaha!
SF, I too am an Aries and an April child!
happy?? have you gone out to “restring your racket” ??
SF~HG~ what do they say ? ” birds of a feather flock together”…….
HG..So did David help you FIND the key, did he break the door down to let you in, did he call a locksmith, did he pick your lock, did he sing to you, or did he take you home with him? How did he “help” you with your predicament?
wish my dreams of David were that innocent! JUST KIDDING!!
dj238- LOL……was actually tending to the wounds inflicted by the stones (while getting advice from PBA ronaldsf on how to patch things up…)
(and cleaning the kitchen)
happy…I’m lost..what are you talking about? stones?
patching things up? Splain, pleeze?
JR – wishing you a very Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy your day!
Happy – I have always loved that you have the heart and soul of a poet.
I am married to one. That is how he won me over so soon after my divorce. This sounds awful now, but I remarried within six months of my divorce. It’s almost 17 years later and I still have all the poems he’s ever written me. And he still writes them, on occasion.
I love all of the poetry, ballads, prayers, and not so innocent talk here. It makes for a well-rounded discussion. Don’t ever stop!
Oh, this is funny – how the kitties are all so playful tonight! (this means you, kittens, cougars, jaguars, panthers, whatever) LOL!
happy~240~ I THINK that was much better BUT then again…uhh..oh never mind.. yup, thats better…….
marlie….”.David looks fantastic – and I actually thought his legs looked thinner – or more muscled. (I was looking at his legs?) ……. {{HUG}} and a high-five to you ..you crack me up!… .ROFL..(Much needed ..thank you!)
OK marlie -I forgot the end of YOUR quote ( ” ) just to be clear it was your words not mine..haha.. I tend to be misinterpreted sometimes..I do not need any trouble haha..ain’t that so ..happy….jus sayin !! we do have you back though so it is all good!…
Happy birthday early, JR!
May 1, I will be 48.
Taurus
Me likey the horizontal stripes.
happy, #227, I was about to say that catnip WAS stronger than you thought then I cleared my cache and found your new avi
bliss #236, “The ceiling could have caved in and the crowd would have been right there for David,” so true. I was in the crowd that night and awestruck at how he had that whole crowd on the edge of their seats and in the palm of his hand.
HG, #234, wow, I think you have the record for Archudreams — do you have midnight-snack nutterbutters or something? lol
Dear David,
You must quit wearing the knitted sweaters. The kitty cats here think you are a ball of yarn.
Dear Kitty Cats,
Carry on…. haha!
betsy246- I love you… you lucky, lucky dog (cat?)….. a poet for a husband?!
TOfan251- I will be returning to the catnip/brownies as soon as the New Year salutation no longer applies… (that’s tomorrow, right?)
juliebug252- ROFL…..see- that’s poetry…
like dj said “one stop admiration bloggers”….
Aries of a feather flock together. SF, HG, and me. Why am I not surprised?
JR – P.S. I was 51 on Nov. 24. A Sagittarius….the notable part of the word being “sag”…as in “everything is done headed south”. haha!
juliebug #252 Oh, my God, you have me ROFLMAO
Hahaha
juliebug~252~ you are one witty kitty….
oh crap rascal~~you too!!….LOL
HG – my crystal ball says your dream may mean that David or what he represents to you, is the key to your happiness or to what you are endeavoring to do next…
And I hope that that is not to unravel why MARLEE is looking at David’s legs even if he was wearing pants or if HAPPY & DJ are tennis partners figuratively
JONER – I cannot explain it but your “Work it David.. work it” had me LMAO… Oh gosh, we know that David wouldn’t even be aware that he’s be working it, for the life of him
Actually, David doesn’t have to work it for us to go ga-ga over him but can you imagine what would happen to us if he actually did? AY CARAMBA!
thought this was appropriate for tonight, thank you David
especially ~~ 0:22-0:32…enjoy…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXy2P75_bz0
rascal, HG..we can’t be the ONLY Aries in the house..but in any case..I’m not surprised either.
juliebug…ball of yarn?! hahaha!
JR..be careful, or you may end up like me..so set in your ways that you have no room for anyone else..except being smitten with an 18 yo! haha! But the funny thing is I like it this way!!
juliebug252- I lied….can’t wait until tomorrow to change my avi…. not when you write poetry like that…..
To all you Aries….I’m sorry, but I’m a Capricorn (like you know who). And our Birthdays are only 34 years and 5 days apart) LOL!
Happy Birthday to You marlie !!
Happy Birthday marlie and JR…..
dj- did you mention when you will be turning 25?
Aww..Thanks.
very funny happy~I have time…Have i mentioned MY dream…..oh never mind…..
And happy birthday to you JR..and for your birthday some of us..coughcoughHappySF(rsfPBA-will need him)cough cough shall come and smuggle you out for a David SOLO concert….you said you are tiny right??..carryon suitcase size??….
rascal, HG, JR, if you are all still here, what did you think, honestly about David’s appearance last night, not his performance, but the venue, the promo, the security, the whole thing? I’m just curious if you feel as I do about the whole thing?

dj281- how convenient for me and my kitty, light blue yarn…. some people just look good in light blue, not my fault…… (only had to search 28 pages of google images “cat yarn ball” for that pix….)
Oh, Freofan, I’m going to have to go find OUR traits to post here….brb

And see how HG & rascal come in, say something, then just leave us hangin’, blowin’ in the wind, talkin’ to ourselves and askin’ questions and they don’t answer?
Yeah, typical Aries! Not me, I’m shy!
I’m getting disenchanted with this website…. can you buh-lieve that there is NO CHANCE for a relationship between an aquarian woman and a capricorn man?????…. as if the age thing weren’t enough of a blow, now this!!!!
OMG, I just looked at my Real Player to find a video clip, and I’ve downloaded 393 videos of David. There’s something wrong with me! LOL!

betsy, you asked how many videos of David are oout there..according to YouTube, about 24,000 videos.
It’s been interesting tonite, learned some more new things about ourselves..time to say good night all, and to David…
This, though we may be unworthy, humbly pray,
Amen.
Sweet dreams! Be safe & secure in our love always! Take care. You will always be numero uno in our eyes! Thank you for all you do and for just being you!
CONTIGO SIEMPRE CON AMOR!
Night Happy. Youth serum must work.
More like truth serum!
Night SF
Okay, maybe I better go as well. Husband will be way grateful.
Always a good thing!
Night all – thanks for the really interesting night! (Goodnight, David!)
SF~AMEN
HG #234: Oh HG I love this dream! May I ??? Perhaps David is helping you open some new areas, some new possibilities in your life.
My sister just sent me this video and I thought I should share it among my ND friends.
It’s an amazing performance from Judy Garland, from 1955. I’m only recently beginning to discover what made her a legendary artist. Warning: you may need a hankie…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-URiHjd7-A&NR=1
A bit of news:
Crush is #4 of Top50 in Radio Disney
http://radio.disney.go.com/music/newyear/top50.html
For a song which came out the 2nd semester of the year and end up as the 43rd most donwloaded song in 2008, now #4 in Radio Disney, and a chartbuster (as listed in previous thread) — miiiiiighty impressive from a newbie
RONALD – thanks for sharing the Ms. Garland’s vid. MAGICAL.
happy – I’m Aquarius – Feb 6 is by BD too!!
Anyone?
ronald — as a fellow “friend of Dorothy’s” (as we used to say), I am thrilled that you are now beginning to discover Judy.
This all bodes well for the future.
bliss #323, I love the comparison of Judy with David.
There’s something about this performance… I for one love how he sings “All is caaalm…”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5PsSzDmfKM
Just saw this great comment on the “Silent Night” video from a wfhardy:
David is the biggest, dorkiest Clark Kent on the planet. But when he starts to sing he is immediately transformed into SUPERMAN and no other artist can touch him. This boy is never off-key, he never hits a bad note. David is beyond talented, I swear he’s from another galaxy! I could listen to him forever (I intend to). I hope by this time next year he will have released a Christmas CD, hopefully Jive realizes that it will sell like gangbusters. This has been such a great year for David!
Was he not asking his fans on the Silent Night YT Clip – what would they like for him to sing?
rascal…All quite correct and understood…I get the feeling that we are trying to guide his career instead of stepping back and letting him move along as he is…In my sight I see us with too many suggestions sometimes and that may take away from him personally or that he cannot make the correct decisions for himself…
#337…I am sorry that you have misunderstood my comments…
rascal…perhaps I cannot express to you correctly what I am trying to say and maybe I will be able to at a later time…
#334 rascal, yes that has been a concern of mine for David, that expectations will inevitably rise as his fame grows.
But I guess I’m a fan that way…
Is it spelled “shi shi”? I don’t know LOL
Kait #328, Fellow Gemini here!
