Thanks to jwipe on YouTube for the video. (Try to ignore the clueless women who can’t keep their foul pie holes shut. It’s brief.)
I think perhaps the reason I may have been chosen to write about David Archuleta is because as a rather loquacious individual with an annoying vocabulary, I am rarely, if ever, given to speechlessness. David is sometimes a challenge for me.
There are very few singers in history who have been able to achieve a level of purity and perfection in all the dimensions of vocal production in a way that doesn’t come off like a vocational accomplishment. The ability to make a technically flawless performance be about something quite other than technical perfection is the mark of true greatness.
Analyzed from a purely technical point of view, this performance is jaw-dropping. From the standpoint of breath production alone, it seems as though he has an inexhaustible source. Aside from the very end, when he splits the syllables of “divine” with a breath, every note, no matter how long, is utterly full, with not a trace of diminishment at the end. His intonations and modulations are simply breathtaking. Once again, David’s impeccable taste shields him from doing too much or too little with his stylings. Every musical choice is savory, without the slightest inclination toward showboating. His natural tone, that slight smoky quality in his voice, is gift of immense proportions, and contributes significantly to the overall effect.
Astonishingly, this is all quite beside the point. David’s ability as a communicator, a channeler, a conduit of musical language is what is ultimately so riveting. It’s as if the song sings him. That’s why when the material is great, he is extraordinary.

Amazing. Peroid. Nothing less.

HG #291, previous post
As always, a thought-provoking and eloquent comment, especially your idea of his “embodied performance.” You describe it so well: “Just looking at him, it’s like he’s opening up his body -- surrendering it, using it as a vessel to be filled with a higher power —> love, music, power, spirit.”
Beautifully said!
Rascal -- This is truely beyond description . . and yet, you somehow managed to describe it beautifully. . ‘what you said’! Wow!
rascal -- Yes! “It’s as if the song sings him.”
Rascal you surely as David must have your very own following. Loquaciously and beautifully said. I am sure that are many who wonder about your background and how you came to have such an exquisite talent for words. Glorious performance by David and David is one good way to start the day.
Today I will be thinking of all the good things that have come my way and I have to believe that there is a mighty hand at work in all of this.
rascal -- How anyone, anyone, could be talking through this performance is absolutely BEYOND me! I am ignoring the clueless ones.
Shit. I just watched “A Thousand Miles” and I can’t stop crying.
Rascal -- this is the first song I listened to this morning as I missed it last night.
I am not exaggerating in the least when I tell you that I am moved to go to church this morning.
And this from someone who feared that I “lost my religion”.
Something happened to me and I can’t stop feeling it.
Tears.
rascal: <<<>>>
rascal -- that was supposed to be a hug!
rascal #7 -- YES, “A Thousand Miles” is thrilling -- I can’t stop watching — from the piano to the singing to David’s expressions and back -- just stunning!
It seems that I had been a lurker since forever. Its been so long since I have stumbled upon this extraordinary site that its now virtually impossible to remember the exact date or time. But believe me when I say that throughout those days and nights, this is the site that satisfies my addiction to all that has to do with David Archuleta.
I have cried and laughed with all the regulars of this site. I have enjoyed meeting new ones and wondered with them about how a gifted, well written, well read and witty, intelligent, knowledgeable artist such as you, Rascal finds time to follow a 17 year old unknown from Utah. Of course, he is not so unknown anymore, hahahaha.
This performance though was the last straw. I can no longer lurk. I can no longer be in this suffocating closet.
No more. Here and now, I am announcing to the world my absolute fanaticism and loyalty to David Archuleta and to this site. And nothing and no one can take me away.
I hope I am not intruding and I pray for your acceptance.
Rascal. I adore you. You go from your post at the top — so eloquent that you do, indeed, have a following — to your post at 7. I’ve said this before, but David hits at all levels, and we respond with every part of us.
Welcome, swiftjavelin. I don’t think much (beyond David’s singing) makes a David fan happier than having another fan join them in admiration of David.
IMO, this video of “Thousand Miles” might be the best quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DOCPbhw-UE
Somebody has already uploaded a “before and after” video of last night’s performance and the one from three years earlier that now has 2.8 million views on ‘Tube.
Have any of you ever tried to sing this song? My Comcast on-demand service has a karaoke channel, and this song is one of the options. It’s damn hard to sing! Let alone play piano at the same time?
David’s voice has changed so dramatically in three years that you would think he would give up this song -- it’s better suited to his higher younger voice. But no, because it’s David we’re talking about …
A MUSICAL SOUL! in every way! What a gift!
RASCAL on #7- are you alright? A number of us cried last night as well -- actually this dawn because A Thousand Miles holds a special place in our hearts.
But please hold on cos you have 3 songs still to go through with Imagine being the bookend. See that another thing with David. His set is always a study in contrast in order to achieve that balance only a consummate entertainer and musician strives to present to his public.
rascal, I am in tears again first thing this morning… simply breadth taking, heart squeezing, and rendering me speechless. Thankfully, you are not not. Your words describing his artistry (music in itself!) allow me to appreciate David and his art further if that’s even possible.
Hi swiftjavelin -- Welcome! Hope you post often--I enjoyed reading your post!
Today is a day our hearts and souls were nourished, yet again, with a purity, a beauty, a joy we had never known before. *eyes misting* *big emotional lump in throat*
David owes me money for all the Visine I’m going to have to purchase today.
I’ll wait until he’s actually made some money and then I’ll collect.
Good morning all!
See what you miss when you DON’T forgo the good sense God gave you and go to bed at a descent hour? Unlike me…..
Whimper…..
Amazing. No words.
I can’t wait as well so see Masterclasslady’s review of this performance.
Another interview -- Getting better at those David…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-RmcUt2sUw&eurl=http://www.snarkyarchies.com/
CASEYDOG -- Haha, I used to sing it BUT I don’t play the piano, just guitar. And you are right — it is hard to sing while playing an instrument esp songs like this where the verses are extended -- almost no time to breathe. Just like Crush and ALTNOY!
To me, David sounds better today than 3 years ago. Vocally, In the old video, he was nasal in most parts. I believe this was the time he is still recuperating from the vocal paralysis. And although his voice has deepened after 3 years, his higher range has not lowered.
And because he is older, there is more emotive force and nuance in his current rendition. The old one is a bit “plakado” — that’s a vernacular term to mean very close to the original. Comes from the word “plaka” which is a spanish or filipino word for a vinyl record
A bit of trivia there
SWIFTJAVELIN -- good for you for coming out! We could always use another angel or archie to share our craziness here haha. Please post more often.
When he sings “Fall on your knees”.
Why do I tear up every single time?
I am a mess right now.
BETSY -- Adam is also growing right before our eyes! He is a darling -- want to squish him and pepper him with kisses!
I woke up thinking it was all a dream…but it wasn’t! My brief review of last night is on the last thread (#224). A few hours in my life that are burned in my memory. Kindredspirit is right about the eye contact. Being just a few feet away allowed for numerous eye contacts…intense and unwavering. I had a quick opportunity to place my hand on David’s shoulder as he was leaving the press area and tell him how awesome the first segment was (OHN and Angels)…he turned and gave me the BIG brown eyes and a very warm “Thanks…Thank you!”
How was I going to drive home after that??
I love how happy he is when singing “A thousand miles”! He keeps breaking out in smiles.
I love that!
caseydog — Yes, that video is superior but the audio is much better on jwipe’s. I’ll match them up and re-post tonight. I’m putting these videos on my iPhone and going to insist that everyone I’m going to brunch with watch them.
I’m a mess.
jr -- Adam was learning to smile the day that photo was taken. Real smiles, not just unconcious ones in his sleep! That was the first one!
Rascal we are all a mess. I cannot be seen by anyone right now. Maybe I should shower and do the hair and makeup thing to hide the red eyes and blotchy, crying skin.
He was so relaxed, as if he was just playing.
The stage is one big playground to him. The only diff is that he has elevated his playtime into an art from. That’s why people are willing to journey a thousand miles just to see his games:)
Did anyone else get the distinct impression that the audience was in a sort of stunned silence listening to him sing O Holy Night?… (with the exception of the “yappers”)
I’d like to find out how many more copies of his CD were sold last night after those performances.
If listening to him sing didn’t make a David Archuleta believer out of you, than nothing would!
HG #291, what an amazing summation of David as an artist! May I repost in the artist thread at IDF, or would you be willing??
I can’t wait, Rascal -- I was hoping for a good mashup, X-factor style (but one window, not four).
It’s just been a succession of “What just happened?” moments -- Is he trying to kill us all?
10 days ago: AOL sessions, crafting the pedestrian lyrics of “You Can” into a sublime experience.
4 days ago: Sacramento Jingle Ball, “dancing” and giving new life to “Touch My Hand” and “Works For Me!”
12 hours ago: Burying us in the exquisite perfection of “O holy Night” and “Thousand Miles.”
Can somebody tell me how on Earth he always manages to step it up another notch and blow us away? I’m seriously gonna spontaneously combust if he keeps this up …
I am laughing and crying. As rascal said once, they are part of the same joy.
he is astonishing……I will follow that voice anywhere….
speechless
Rascal ((((hugs)))) you were “chosen” to write about him, thank you for listening to the “call” to do so… we need you!
Read from IDF, someone said it’s so good archies record every live performances of David. How couldn’t we? The joy he gave us is incredible, and we would like to share our joy to the world.
Rascal, your review should be in the Artist thread, too
May I?
Functioning on 4 hours sleep, and here I am first thing this morning, again, hungering for more. He gives so much, but it only increases the need.
Just a weird feeling today. How can 7 songs from a freaking tree lighting have such an impact? What does that mean? These performances last night were…indescribable. The energy, the passion, the charm, the voice, the vulnerablility, the joy, the trust. The mutual love and respect. I’m overcome.
Ahhh…why are we all in tears today?
davidfanLIZ, I’m laughing and crying too!!
Joner #32 “If listening to him sing didn’t make a David Archuleta believer out of you, than nothing would!” You would think!!! You make a good point about his CD selling more after these performances.
Wow, Rascal! First, thanks for the shout out. I love the vibe on your blog -- you allow us to wax poetic and share in the gift of David, which keeps on giving.
It’s interesting that you were able to pinpoint this particular performance of O Holy Night as the key song that had me going on and on about his “vocal wisdom.” How lovely to be able to share the same impressions. I especially agree with your take that “It’s as if the song sings him.”
Ronaldsf, feel free to share my #291 post over at IDF. I can always head on over afterwards and embellish if I feel the need.
Thanks, Liz and others for your constant and supportive feedback.
swiftjavelin -- I am pretty much a lurker, but I hope I am still considered a member of this wonderful family -- so I would like to say “welcome”.
Kait #288 from the previous thread -- what a great idea to send this video to your email list! If this doesn’t make my friends understand my ODD nothing ever will!
Well if they release the ALTNOY video now -- that would really do us in, right?
That should be funny except that it is true, esp given the mess we are all in now.
“It’s as if the song sings him”
David has said often -- “It’s not coming from me”
But really I think it is.
He makes it seem effortless but we know he works hard. Little sleep, lots of air travel, singing all the time, mega-long autograph sessions, forgoing any semblance of a normal family life. I could go on but that is the jist of it.
He is meant to to this and he must feel it in his bones.
I just love him.
I want him to feel a tenth of the happiness he has given me.
Betsy, when David said “It’s not coming from me,” and when fans like Kindredspirit talk about feeling her body vibrate when he sings, I think we have to acknowledge that a life force greater than David moves through him.
That’s how I’ve interpreted those words from David, and again I say, at 17, I’m in awe that he is so aware of the divinity of song.
haven’t had time to read the comments or even view the videos- just the one posted at the top of this thread…have to add my 2 cents to the obvious consensus--
that performance is just beyond words- perfect, in every way, every aspect of it, perfect, art that words can not make manifest…I can not even imagine the power in person….
HG -- I agree that there is something greater going on however, I just had to acknowledge his hard work! How else would I be feeling so spirtual today?! To go to church after a eight year absence.
I just listened to “A thousand miles” again. Did you hear what he does with the word *wonder*?
The way he sings it makes me feel that it is indeed a lucky word to be sung by him.
#7 Rascal
1000 Miles = 1000 tears of joy.
You are a dear man. We all love you.

I love this quote from rascal from long, long ago: David reminds us that “a treacherous and cynical world can dissipate in an instant with the expression of love.” I made a card for Brett a while back with this quote as well as another with a quote by Mother Teresa: “In this life we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love.”
The cards combine these quotes with some of my photo collages. The cards are on the zazzle site if you are interested in seeing them.
http://www.zazzle.com/davidfanliz*
After hearing him previously express insecurities about playing the piano during performances I love that he chose a song, “A Thousand Miles”, that apears to this lay person a tricky song to sing and play, to perform last night. David, the perfectionist. And David, the risk-taker.
And I thought I saw more lip-licking last night, especially during that song. Is this more evidence that the expressive, relaxed, confident, joyful Shop Around “boy “(and I use that term loosely) that you all speak of really is back?
morning! rascal, I am a mess now too cuz I was ROFLO!! And messed up my makeup!! hahaha!
I maybe shouldn’t say this for fear of offending but, ah what the heck..
DAVID IS A “GOD” ON STAGE!! NO OTHER LIKE HIM!!
LATER!
I meant LMAO!!!
Ok…here is where my lurkdom shows… What is IDF??
msd….Idol Forums.
Ask away, there is always someone willing to help.
Oh, my! Just in time for Christmas, an angel has been sent to us to sing of the joyous Good News! But wait, it’s in actuality, David Archuleta, who is really the closest personification of an angel that is humanly possible. I tend to be loquacious as well, but David often leaves me speechless, breathless, and powerless to control my flow of tears!!! This performance is inspiring to the millionth degree! During this time of year when Peace on Earth, giving of gifts, and generosity of spirit are supposed to reign supreme, David has become the epitiome of this joyous season!!! Thank you for sharing this, rascal! My Christmas is now complete!!!
Silverfox, Kizzi, Joyner yours are the posts that with anticipation I always look forward to coming across. They invariably crack me up. put me in awe, and most of the time make me realize how lucky iam that i got to discover this site that allow everyone here to share unabashedly the joy of being a fan of this wonderful angel on earth.
Alittle about me, I was once a seminarian, yes for 7 years
in a tiny seminary in the Philippines. I wanted to become a priest. While in my freshman year, I had avoice called “tiple” and I was the soloist in a 100-voice choir. The bishop of the diocese makes it a point to have me sing during ordinations. I had the time of my life then and I so felt very close to that state called euphoric that I can only imagine how David feels when he is singing and making the connection with all of us while taking us to that place unexplainable where there is no pain, no sorrow but joy and ecstacy.
Ok, already in tears at the first words of the song. David brings me to my knees everyday to thank God for him. He has changed my life and the way I look at life. I was told that David is at his best when he sings songs that he really feels and connects to. This is one. His faith is so stong, it is his complete driving force to share his gift with all of us. Remember Smokey Mountain Memories? The studio version was done in two takes. TWO TAKES! That is a musically genius. And of course, When you believe! David uses every inch of his body and soul on these songs. Thank you GOD for David Archuleta!
I just watched “A Thousand Miles.” Words have not been invented yet to describle how incredibly beautiful this performance is or to express my pride in David!!! He continues to improve upon the perfection of his voice and his ability to make us part of his joyous universe! David, you bring me to tears every time!!!
Hi everyone!
That’s a glorious Sunday. I can’t get over how perfectly David sang A Thousand Miles and the a capella Silent Night, and again I loved Crush. It’s such a happy song.
# 40 davidfanLiz
What a beautiul post. Rascal words are true so are Mother Theresa’s.
Rascal, have you managed to pull yourself together and work on the mashup video?
Rascal is probably still at brunch. But he’ll be delayed because he’s going to have to sit in the waiting room of the hospital while they try to revive his brunch-mates after he made them listen to OHN and ATM on his iPod.
haha!
After the hyper excitement of the Sacramento Jingle Ball, who would’ve know David would come back to blow us out of the water like this?!! I have words bouncing around in my brain and am speechless at the same time.
Without a doubt David has a relationship with his fans, with us! It is completely a two-way street. Since I’ve never been a fan of anybody (except for when I was a tween in Japan), I don’t know if other “celebrities” acknowledge so much his fans for the support and love as David does at every turn. I feel so connected to him because of that.
I am about to go off line, dang it!
HG, from the last thread, thank you for your great words. The word that comes to me when I think of David is PASSION.
Kindredspirit, also from the last thread, thank you so much for sharing your “eye witness” account of the night. It is the next best to the real thing.
I am AWESTRUCK once again. I am also feeling very overwhelmed emotionally right now. I left listening to O Holy Night till last because I just knew that hearing this song would put me over the edge.
Thanks to ALL who have shared their thoughts and reflections in this and the last thread/post. They have comforted me.
Welcome to the newcomers who have, because of David, felt compelled to join this wonderful family on notingdavid.
I just watched A Thousand Miles…*melting*…LOL!! I have always loved that song.
I just realized -- tonight’s the Houston Jingle Ball.
Whimper…..

New Myspace blog!
Hi everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know about how the first radio show went! The first Jingle Ball was in Sacramento, and it was AMAAZZIINNGGG!!! I couldn’t believe how exciting it was! The other acts that were there were Jesse McCartney, Katy Perry, Boys Like Girls, and Shontelle. It was neat to have Shontelle there because I became friends with her at the Macy’s Parade haha. Go familiar faces! But I seriously had the time of my life. I was so nervous before the show, wondering what I was going to say on stage and how I was going to perform. It kind of just came out though, and the energy of the band and crowd was just such a great feeling. It was cool to see all the signs you guys made too! It made me feel more comfortable to see some of you guys out there cheering on, so thanks everyone for coming out! Hopefully you guys will get to go to a show if haven’t gone yet. If any of you are going to come to upcoming shows let me know.
Another really exciting thing that happened this week was filming the music video for A Little Too Not Over You. This video was so much fun! It took a lot longer, but I really had a great time. The director was really creative and fun to work with, and the people who were in the video were hilarious! They’re working on editing it and getting everything together now, but I can’t wait to see the finished product.
Other thing that happened this week: I lost my phone 2 days ago lol. That wasn’t nearly as fun and exciting as the other things, but oh well I guess. I’m pretty sure I left it on the plane, but they wouldn’t let me back on the airplane because the next destination it was going was an international flight to Vancouver. I guess you can’t go on the plane if it’s international because of security reasons or something. I couldn’t do anything about it either because we had to catch another flight going to Orlando, so I went to Orlando as my phone went to Vancouver. I’m actually kinda envious that my phone got to go to Vancouver before I did. I wish I went too lol. But I was really happy about going to Florida. I had a few things to do there like record a bunch of lines, and I got to go to Disneyworld! That totally cheered up my mood. We went to all of the parks and I was a happy camper. My aunt, uncle, and cousins who live in that area also came to visit, and I was really glad that I was able to hang out with them. Gotta love family. The sad thing is that I usually take pictures using my phone, so I didn’t have a camera until I went on the safari in Animal Kingdom. My camera died right after that anyway. I’ll try to put some pictures up though. We had the coolest tour guide helping us out too. He was really friendly and helpful. Oh David Cook was there too by the way. We ran into each other in front of Pirates of the Caribbean haha. It’s always fun bumping into him. Sorry I’m saying all of these events totally out of order but I can’t remember the exact… like… timeline haha. But anyway, I could go on forever about Disneyworld in a disorganized manner but then this would be 3 times longer and make even less sense than it already does.
I’ll just mention one more thing before I go, I performed at the Hollywood and Highland Christmas Tree Lighting in California the other night. After that I dropped by the KIIS FM Jingle Ball. So for those of you who went, I hope you had fun!
P.S. Congrats to Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and Sara Bareilles for their Grammy Nominations!
Others that were nominated that I’m excited for: Adele, Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, well a lot haha.
Song for the day: Extraordinary Machine -- Fiona Apple
I’m getting such a boost going from site to site just reading about the joy that David shared with us last night. The believers and non-believers alike. David is no longer only singing to the choir, but to the masses. O Holy Night is just a small part of his introduction. He has many weapons in his arsenal.
Rascal said:
“Shit. I just watched “A Thousand Miles” and I can’t stop crying.”
How eloquent. Let me add an Amen!
DavidfanLIZ, thank you for sharing this quote from Mother Teresa:
“In this life we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love.”
Powerful words indeed. Made me weep. It’s been that kind of a day. Good tears, healthy tears….
Oh, I hope that David got his phone back eventually! Is it his iPhone that has all his numbers, texts, pics, and videos on it? I thought his blog was hilarious in parts. The blog also gives us a sense of how tremendously busy he is. I was just thinking yesterday how he has been criss-crossing the country, running here and there, etc. It was interesting to read his account of the Sac show. It was an amazing performance.
To anyone going to the Albany Jingle Jam on 12/10:
Email me if you’d like to meet up with TOfan, refnaf, Hello Gorgeous, Bluebarsa and me. djb, are you going to Albany? If so, please meet up with us after the concert. We are getting together for a little party after the concert at my hotel. kizzix2008@gmail.com
hmmm…. is this a public service announcement?…hmmm
294 Kait, fom the last thread. I know what you mean about the relief of letting go of the rivalry w/Cook. My turning point came while attending the Idol concert and hearing him sing the line “I know I’ll always be blessed with love” during Angels. In comparison to all the other idols, his raw talent and connection to his music just seemed to put him in a different league.
57 E4D, “He has changed my life and the way I look at life.” Ditto for me! Smoky Mountain Memories still brings me to tears. Every time I watch the performance, I still see that “glorious aura” that Paula alluded to.
ronaldsf and janey, i believe i saw the two of you on the snarky site — cute photo! thanks so much for the sac jb cell cast! i was one of the 400+ listeners.
This seems to be the time for many of us “lurkers” to come out of hiding. I, too, am a first time FAN of anyone.
I’ve watched American Idol for several years but hadn’t really connected with anyone. Then during audition rounds they showed a chubby cheeked boy from my old hometown and I felt a small tug. Needless to say by the time the top 24 were announced I was a David Archuleta supporter, one who sighed with relief after every performance. But, to my surprise, I wasn’t really dissapointed that he came in second…my first thought was that he didn’t have a thing to worry about because the powers that be knew who would be a star better than the viewing public and he wouldn’t have to “live up” to the unreal expectations that the winner has to face.
Now, a year later, I am obsessed with David Fan Sites and comment boards, especially this one, watch Youtube every chance I get, Google everytime I turn on my computer, etc. etc.
My life has been it’s own form of hell these past two years but because of David I am growing mentally stronger everyday. My prayers are all about staying alive long enough to watch David grow in his profession and become the “Star” that he deserves. When I listen to him singing I find myself almost “out of body” and time stops still. All the hurt and dispare of the last few years fades into the distance as I cry a little, smile a lot, feel immensely comforted and happy again.
Thanks David, you are better than any pill or therapist or self-help book.
Tess, you’re words are very moving to me. Please explain your difficult years as I have had some my self. I think when people express their true feelings it’s very healing. David has healed so many people. So many people were close to “checking out” and then they heard this beautiful boy sing Imagine, and it gave them hope. I have heard so many stories about the power of David. Jeff told us that during Idol, many people would pull him aside and tell him how much David has changed their lives. I really do believe that David touched everyone on Idol for the better, and Idol will never be the same after David.
Tess -- I am glad David is helping. He helped me, too.
And others here.
Tess -- I am so sorry for your struggles . . we will pray for you. I am so glad David brings you so much peace and comfort. As HG suggested . . he is a wonderful gift from a “higher power” and is helping and healing countless people. ((((hugs))))
In reference to David’s latest blog -- I wish those 3 artists he mentioned would return the favor and keep mentioniong his name for the next year in the hopes of a Grammy Nomination. In almost every interview when he’s asked for musical influences who does he mention but his FAB 3.
Just an observation -- Did anyone ever notice that David has a thing for black girls? LOL! Just saying…..:)
Wow, Tess (and all other lurkers coming out of the shadows -- *waves*), your story is so moving. I also agree that everyone who witnessed David’s finale recognized that a star had been born. As for Cook, ebonyangel and Kait, I get the sense that his claim to fame will always be the guy who beat David Archuleta. I also sense that Cookie himself senses this.
Did anyone ever notice that David has a thing for black girls? LOL! Just saying…..:)
Joymus, you may be on to something! But if that’s the case, then all the more reason for me to curse the heavens that I was born too early and him too late! Dang it!
I think his latest blog is the funniest one yet. And to think he had the audacity to tell Kathy Griffin that he’s “not really funny.”
Hi Tess: I am sending you a warm mental hug and wish all the best for you. You said: “When I listen to him singing I find myself almost “out of body” and time stops still.” The same happens to me all the time -- it is like taking a mini-vacation in a most peaceful and beautiful place! David’s voice unlocks that place in my mind for me.
HG so right; the only connection between Cook and David is AI from a public perspective.
Kait and ebonyangel -- once I separated Cook from David and realized their paths were not the same, I felt so free!
HG,
Evidence?
Alexandria -- Couldn’t stop the tears as she left AI, even went out of his way to see her in Atlanta.
Jordan -- almost smushed him to death at the AMAs. He also gushes about her at every opportunity.
Shontelle -- also from the Caribbean /Barbados and a contemporary of Rhianna.
Just playing a bit of mischeif -- but hey you NEVER know. Things Happen .haha!
Tess, you are in my prayers. David has brought some much needed light back into my life as well. It is amazing how many people he is helping with his voice and by just being the genuine person he is.
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdUnctvjGp8
Neat interview from rockerrazzi.com; nicely done with scenes from last night’s show (in black and white) interspersed with interview questions. Some of it has been posted in smaller interviews earlier.
Joymus, you have me laughing and I know it’s all in fun. You forgot about two. He gushed about going to see Jennifer Hudson on an tour even though she didn’t win; and then there’s Tamyra Gray.
I was youtubing earlier and typed in “Tree lighting Ceremony”. Guess whose videos popped up first?!
Again, I wish everyone in the world would/could see these.
Ebony and Joymus, I know you’re just having fun, but I think David has a thing for smart, talented, sweet and fun people — and all of those women you mentioned have those qualities for sure (well, I don’t know much of anything about Shontelle though).
Hmmmm, and why is it that David does seem to find a lot of young ladies with those qualities -- and Jason Castro, lol!
And don’t forget how he also gushed about Syesha Mercado being “gorgeous.” ha ha!
awwww Tess {{{huggggg}}} I love to hear you say that David has helped make you strong and heal your hurt because he has done the same for me.
Rascal #7 lol {{{{{hugggg}}}} We are so lucky you give us YOU and notingdavid! (A Thousand Miles is veddy dangerous. In a GOOD way…lol)
HelloGorgeous last thread #291 — {{{{{MASSIVE HUGGG}}}}} (You always knock my socks off)
Caseydog hiya! I am blown away by all these Christmas Tree performances. Guh. I mean, a Thousand Miles… *thud!* And boyhowdy his *pop* GAME is ONNNN for ALTNOY — it’s just as stunning as his, um, *otherworldy* vibe is for the carols, imagine, and a thousand miles. He is, simply, just freaking magnificent.
swiftjavelin I don’t think you will need to pray for acceptance!
Just jumping in usually works here, I do believe. (er, I mean *buh-lieeeve*) I loved your post!
jackryan “The stage is one big playground to him.” Amen! His comfort level and happiness level on stage just seems to have exploded!. (I loved how during Crush he was talking to a fan! lol!)
Gee, I wonder how Silverfox is doing right now? Silverfox, dahlink, I HOPE you remembered to pack your handy *Pocket Defibrillator*! (let’s face it, your survival prospects are slim without it)
Joymus! hahaha! I think you’re RIGHT!
Oh and yes what an ADORABLE blog post! HOW, I want to know, does he manage to squeeze SO MUCH into SO LITTLE TIME! It’s SUUUUPER-DAVIDDD!!
Joymus, you may be onto something. David does love the sistahs. Good thing, because the sistahs love him.
Just having a little fun guys. Truth is I only comment on that because though many portray David to be this sheltered, whitebread, milquetoast, little Mormon boy, he has shown himself to be totally inclusive in his music and his friendships. He teaches by example. How cool is that.
Just checked on Shontelle -- you guessed it -- She also GORGEOUS!
Okay, Already!
I promise to leave Davey alone for a bit and stop the teasing. Heck but it sure is fun! LOL!
he has shown himself to be totally inclusive in his music and his friendships. He teaches by example. How cool is that.
Brooklyndawn, that is definitely one of many things I love about him.
brooklyndawn..yep that’s my take also. David seems to just love everyone, doesn’t seem to see color, age etc. He is all inclusive.
A very spiritual guy, which is why he can pull off a performance of OHN like he has. It left me speechless and in tears.
kizzi ~ I e-mailed you
Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I’m not one to place alot of my life out for public view but I will tell you that my husband got himself into drugs, left me for another woman, and died 12 months later of acute heart disease brought on by his new life style and left me holding the bag for the 10′s of thousands of dollars he spent feeding his new habits. Along the way two of my beloved dogs were poisoned and ultimately died, my beloved Mother passed away suddenly and my Father is now institutionalized with sever alzheimers.
I’m coming to terms with all of my struggles (and don’t anyone feel sorry for me -- thousands of people have endured much, much more). Mine just hit me all at once so it was a pretty strong shock.
On a much brighter note, I’m still employed, am able to hold onto my home for now, have a great Step daughter who I love dearly, still have two other great dogs to keep me company, and have this wonderful site to come to.
Not only has David been a newfound delight for me, but finding other Fans (I’d rather refer to us as David supporters) who experience the same joy from this young man has brightened many a day for me. When I read all of your posts I feel like you’ve just expressed exactly what I was thinking and feeling.
Happy Holidays!
((((Tess)))) I’m so glad you’ve decided to come out of lurkdom to share with us. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you will know that many of us here have had dark moments as well, in which David’s light brought us up out of the depths.
Please see the video I made, as it was created with many “David supporters” such as yourself in mind:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC8gG93mV1I
92 Tess, your post has almost left me speechless. I sincerely mean it when I say my thoughts and prayers are with you. I’m glad that (as David put it) there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you. Hang in there … it will continue to get better.
83 Caseydog, you’re so right about Jason. On IDF, I saw discussion of whether or not David would be well received if he toured with Chris Brown. My initial thought was that both he and Jason have welcoming/warm personalities and they perform with an authenticity and sincerity that encourages others to accept them as who they are as artists. Because of that, I believe both have an appeal that transcends race, religion, gender, etc.
{{{Tess}}} <-- NOT a pity hug! I’m awed. And I’m rooting for you! ♥
The Snarky’s graciously posted a link to the MP3 versions of the songs from the Tree Lighting.
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=41caaed70041edf591b20cc0d07ba4d2fc6ceb86afabf0aa
They sound great on my iPod
Marlie7, thanks for sharing that link!
Tess, I think we can all draw strength from your strength – and from David’s beautiful message of hope. Your earlier words said it all: “Thanks David, you are better than any pill or therapist or self-help book.”
Regarding the MP3 link: If you get to media player and get lost, just click on each song title and another window will open that says Click Here to Download.
Okay, I’m pretty new here so I’m gonna ask….how do you add an avatar? Thanks!
Tess, welcome to this community among the space of David’s larger fan community.
Hi Everyone!
Hope you are all doing well and had a nice weekend. Because I love to speculate, I thought it would be fun to think about David’s upcoming tour plans. On a FOD chat the other night, Dean K. mentioned that David’s team is in talks to potentially tour as opening act to Chris Brown. Not sure it was OK for Dean to let this out of the bag, but in any case, what do you guys think about this possibility? Is there a good cross-over potential with Chris Brown’s fanbase? Does this speak to their plans for David’s progression (eventually moving to a more R&B sound), or is it simply to pair him with a hot pop artist?
In my opinion, I am very glad they are looking at David touring as an opening act rather than a solo tour, because it will introduce him to many more casual fans. Based on what some prominent posters have said (such as ggdoorsfan) it’s my understanding that David is liked and respected for his abilities by the African-American community, which makes up Chris B’s most ardent fan base. David certainly can build a set list from his songs to entertain this audience. I just wonder, before Chris B, would a crowd be receptive to David or would they be more up for a rap/dance/hip hop type performance?
Anyway would love to know your opinions. I find this interesting because the tour decision is a crucial one IMO for David’s success in the next few months…
Just back from shopping. Target. I did some creative rearranging. Ahem.
I’m sorry but my vision of a shared audience between Chris Brown fans and David fans is mind boggling. Just think it would be a very diverse crowd. We’d have everyone from Golden Archies down to the tween fans, along with all the very hip and with it fans of Chris. Though I do think the 16 to 25 year old girl group would be nothing if not ecstatic.
LM, interesting you mention David’s potential appeal with a black audience, when we were just talking earlier about David’s apparent love for the sistahs (and the sistahs’ love for him -- ha ha!).
Speaking for myself, and other black folks I know, if he sangs the way he’s been sanging of late, we’d be his most ardent supporters. We love us some glory-noters, and David can out-glory-note the best of them.
As Brooklyndawn has said, there’s this misconception out there that David is this “sheltered, whitebread, milquetoast, little Mormon boy,” when he obviously has got soul.
I think opening with ALTNOY, Barriers, Works for Me!, among others could blend nicely with Chris Brown’s repertoire.
My concern is with Chris Brown, though. Apart from the vocals that would show him up, I don’t think they’re a natural pairing. If he must tour as an opening act for a Jive artist, Justin Timberlake makes more sense, I think. There too, David would show him up as well, vocally speaking. So, let him tour by himself!
Marlie7, go to http://www.gravatar.com where you can sign up for an avatar.
Tess -- great point about the diversity. It sure would be an interesting crowd! With the economy the way it is, having an opening act within the same genre but somewhat different (and extremely passionate!) fanbase would seem to make a lot of sense. David would surely help ticket sales…now that I think about it I’d really like to see that double bill myself, although I don’t know if my ears could take it!
hello gorgeous -- haha! You’re right about the mutual love between David and the sistahs -- two others we forgot, Sasha and Malia Obama, who apparently were David supporters during AI -- think he will get invited to the White House??
It’s funny you mention the only issue might be Chris. I was thinking this too, but for a slightly different reason. He made some comments recently about how he wasn’t attracted to Jordin when they recorded “No Air.” It would have been a little hurtful to hear that for her, so I felt bad for her. I wondered if this might have anything to do with the perception that she “rode his coattails” with that song. Wonder if he might have an issue feeling like he is being “used” by AI contestants…
Can we add “Your Eyes Don’t Lie”, “Running”, and “To Be With You” to the imaginary Chris Brown Opening Act set list, though?
hello gorgeous -- forgot to mention, I think you’re right about Justin Timberlake. That would probably be a more natural pairing like you said. Another one that I think would make a lot of sense would be Christina Aguilera. She is not on the same label but has the same management as David so you never know…at some point, a duet between those two would be awesome too!
Oh yes, of course: Malia and Sasha, David Archuleta fans!
Wouldn’t that be the coolest thing if they invited him to the White House for a performance?
My issue with Chris Brown, if I must be honest, is that in a year or two, David Archuleta is going to surpass him, period. Chris is a hot young act right now, but come on now. He neither has the staying power of a Prince or the depth of talent like a John Legend. Heck, Ne-Yo is fast making Chris yesterday’s news just in this year alone.
Because of this, I don’t see why David should open for someone whose thunder he is inevitably going to steal. If I were Chris Brown, I would be very threatened about following an opening act like David, are you kidding me?
Now, do I think David also surpasses someone like Justin Timberlake too? Without fail. The big difference is, Justin is an established artist now, young enough to still be relevant but enough years in the business to be seen as a veteran. David should open for veterans (and to me, Chris Brown isn’t a veteran yet, even if he’s more established than David right now), just like Jordin Sparks opened for a veteran like Alicia Keyes.
Having David open for someone like Chris Brown would be like having Jordin Sparks opening for a Rihanna. How do the “main acts” give them any real anchor and sure foothold in the music business when they’re all relatively young and inexperienced?
BTW, thanks for reminding me of YEDL, Running, and TBWY. Those would also work well. Also, I didn’t know he said such things about Jordin Sparks. I interpret that comment less as a put down of AI contestants and more as a put down on plus-size girls.
#56 swiftjavelin: I missed your post earlier. Thanks for telling us a little about yourself. 7 years in a seminary and your singing must have been an incredible experience.
Welcome to ND. I look forward to your future posts.
HG -- Gorgeous vid. This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to view it.
In watching David sing OHN and acapella SN -- I got a sense of urgency that his Christmas Album with these songs should be recorded ASAP. Its like David’s talent is almost too good to be true. That’s why I pray every day and night for his vocal miracle to remain in tact and in the best possible shape.
I was asking myself why he did so many songs at yesterday’s event -- were they testing the waters for Tour in terms of how well his voice holds up. He has never done so many at once. Dean said in his interview on FOD that he has warned David not to be extravagant when he is sounding great because it may encourage him to push himself to sing louder and lose technique. He admitted to Dean that he walked close to the edge at times at the SAC JB. If you watch all his vids except the Tulsa shows -- David rarely loses control of his voice. That was the beauty of You Can. Despite the crowd and loud cheers -- he never oversang.
David has a rare and remarkable talent that I hope and pray we will continue to enjoy for a long time.
Thanks, Joymus.
Also, good point about all these songs. I do get the impression all these appearances are building up to something grand. We can only hope.
hg you make alot of really good points about the various artists and the pros and cons of touring with each. Thanks for your insight. I guess we will have to wait and see how it all pans out in the end…I’m excited to see what happens!
P.S.. Rickey has live cellcast of Houston Jingle Ball…David is on and crowd is going crazy!
Hmmm. David and Chris Brown. Doesn’t work for me. I just don’t think that in the long run it would do any more than point out the glaring differences in them. David isn’t comfortable dancing on stage, so he would pale in comparison to Chris. Chris can’t sing live, so he would pale horribly in comparison to David. These performers should complement each other not point out glaring discrepancies.
I would love to see him tour with NeYo, Alicia, or Brandy perhaps, she seems to be on the brink again. Is Justin touring at the moment? I think it would be a good fit too. David could learn alot from Justin. I don’t think that Justin in terribly talented, but what impresses me with him is that he maximizes what he has. He’s not the best singer, or dancer for sure, but he is so confident that you won’t find out from him. Like I said David could learn alot from him. Robin Thicke might do as well, it’s definitely a demographic that David could impress, that ‘blue eyed soul’ niche. He is just as soulful as Robin imho, and can certainly sing circles around him as well.
What’s so much fun is that no matter how much we speculate, it will be even better when it comes to fruition.
He sang Silent Night as a 6th song in Houston. GAH
He sang it acappella -- I need a video, please!
FYI -- David’s bracelet package with Bonnie Hunt’s auction is up to $4,000.
Can’t wait to see the vids from tonight. His performance sounded amazing! He also did “You Can.”
Tic, tic, tic. I can’t wait for video. I hear the crowd loved him!
Hi everyone! Am already at work and what do I do 1st thing? Of course open my laptop and check in here! HAHA!
To the “long time-1st timers” aka as newly surfaced lurkers — see it wasn’t that hard coming up for air, right? Join in the fun and you will find a lot of angels here with similar & familiar experiences -- whether personal or David-related.
And just like how David is inclusive of all things possible, Rascal’s house is home to all willing to be open-minded and sprightly-hearted.
TESS -- for a while there I thought you were the Filipina who crossed the globe just to meet David during the Idol tour. I can fully empathize with your struggles. Am a widow too with 2 kids. Well they are not kids anymore. It was also drugs that caused my 7-year marriage to break down. After being separated for 10 years, he committed suicide. It was unfortunate that I was unavailable to him at that time. Had we the chance to talk, he wouldn’t have gone on that period. Aside from being his ex-wife, I was his best friend, you see. Being an orphaned and an only child, I was the only family he knew.
I chose to maintain a friendship with him cos (1) he was still the father of my kids (2) although he failed me as a husband, he was a good dad to them & (3) I want to show my kids the ramifications of certain choices made in life. For that, my relationship with my kids is whole and open.
That was 9 years ago. So I practically raised the 2 kids on my own, while building a career which by the Grace of God, I have been successful with so far. Instead of making a heart-rending phase in my life traumatic, I chose to flourish in it. And I did with a lot of faith, hard work, music and laughter with family & friends!
WOW -- sorry to ramble! Too early for drama, omgosh. Let me end this with why I love the blogname of kindredspirit. Because I do believe we are all here kindred in some form or another.
Yup, definitely souls intertwined by the gift that is David.
HG#105 Thanks for the link! I just have to change my email so my David avatar doesn’t show up when I’m posting on technical blogs
I’d like to see David pair up with someone not in the pop genre. Maybe his favorite John Mayer (if he’s planning to tour). David’s diveristy of skill fits more with that kind of crowd who appreciate the words, the emotion, the intensity of someone like David. And he might not be pigeon-holed into the pop-frenzy crowds so much. Because it won’t take long for David to find his way to his own style, and I think he’s more likely to break boundaries rather than fit inside them.
A new view of ATM from last night. You can see him playing the piano. It’s fascinating watching his fingers move so elegantly over the keys.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beyb78qz4iw
juliebug -- This is fabulous. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video where you could actually watch him play. I love watching his lovely hands!!!
And what exactly were you doing in that Target store???? Confess!!
yuk -- iTunes has added a shortened version of the “All Acess” review to David’s album page
Do they want to discourage people from buying it?
hi everybody -- just checking in to see if the avatar worked -- thanks HG! Long time lurker but sometime poster on other sites; i know some of you already. Thought it might be time to join in on what seems to be a healthy mixture of cerebral pontificating, musical analysis and naughty fun…
Liz -- Oh…nothing. Well…not EXACTLY nothing. Just some creative rearranging of someone’s CD in the music section. (whistling innocently)…
Brace yourselves for this one… possibly the best audio of O Holy Night out there: thanks to JANEY for finding this video, from brett337, on YouTube in High Definition.
This audio has its ups and downs -- it doesn’t handle the loud parts as well, particularly near the beginning. But it is higher fidelity and you can hear David’s nuances better and it sounds “closer” and more “immediate” -- Also, the talking is much less noticeable.
Click “watch in HD”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyMxTzt9HCU
Also, I mixed together the best video of this performance (from jwipe) with this audio. I put it up on my “ronaldsanfran” channel, but frikkin YouTube reduced the sound quality from 256kbps to 128kbps.
Well, here is the original video I mixed. It’s BIG at 157MB: http://www.sendspace.com/file/6w865f
Great comment from Angelicus over at IDF, where there’s been haggling over David’s “lack of performance skills.”
See, it’s performances like these that make all the arguments and debates about “maturity,” “stage presence,” “hip/cool” and other absurdities totally and absolutely irrelevant. Who cares when you have a voice so magical and a soul to match.
Are there talks of David fronting for Chris Brown? Why the latter? Not to put down Chris cos I acknowledge he has a considerable following but come on! He is still relatively new, isn’t he?
Hello Heartchuleta! I remember you from Rickey’s!
Snarkies has some updates on the Houston event, notable of which are as follows:
“HE WAS WEARING A BLUE BUTTON UP SHIRT, ROLLED UP AT THE ELBOW. AND NOT BUTTONED UP ALL THE WAY. BLACK CHUCKS. CHARCOALISH TIGHT JEANS.
AMY SAID DAVID WAS VERY PRETTY.
DAVID RAN BACK AND FORTH ON THE STAGE A LOT. AND HE WAS SWEATY.
DAVID’S SET: TMH, WFM, YOU CAN, ALTNOY, CRUSH, SILENT NIGHT a-capella”
CROWD GOING NUTSSSSSSS. THEY LOVE DAAAAVID
Woo-hoo!!!! Archudomination! Go David!!!!
ronald -- Hi, thank you for sharing your mixed OHN. Just finished watching it, but have to go back to it again. I shed so much tears last night and this morning, and it is going to start again.
JR4DA~~~thanks for the snarkies Houston update..(..luv those snarkies)…..BUT…OMG…David with rolled up sleeves.. button up shirt~~not buttoned up !~ tight jeans and…Oh my Heck ..SWEATY…..and then Silent Night acepella …!!…..SILVERFOX may not make it back !!….sooo happy for her……!!!!
ronaldsf: You are the BEST!
HG you said: “Wouldn’t that be the coolest thing if they invited him to the White House for a performance?
Since allegedly the 2 daughters voted for our David during AI, wouldn’t it be cool if he gets to sing the anthem during Obama’s inaugural? Who would be better suited to musically usher this very young 1st family destined to lead change?
In another vein, I wonder how SF & her sister are to Houston, you think? HAPPY/DJB -- have arrangements been made for this?
DJ on #134 -- why else do you think I chose those liner updates? HHMMM?
Good Evening!
Tess -- I can’t imagine what you’ve been going through .
There seems to be a common thread amongst people that “get” David. They are warm, compassionate, spiritual, caring, introspective, intelligent, candid, humorous….oh my heck…I could go on and on…
Just trust me on this..you are in the right place at Rascal’s house….WELCOME TO THE FOLD!
David opening for Chris Brown….hmmmm…I’m not feeling it. Rather see him with someone like Sara Bareilles or Natasha Bedingfield. I think that would be a better match up.
Joner -- I liiiiike your choices!!! They could even have a duet in the middle of the main act. WOW!
Can’t wait to see photos from tonight! I’m really looking forward to hearing the Silent Night from tonight!
As Christmas draws nearer and past memories are in my mind…I am ready to prepare for yet another Christmas that I have always loved…My mother died on Christmas day and she so loved the time of year…Our son has been recently married and has a new son of his own…We are all delighted for sure…His wife obviously is wanting to turn his head towards her family and turn him against his own without good reason…This kind of stories I hear from other people but not from my own son surely…Today has been heartbreaking and it is the time that one looks around for comfort and the answers to reasons why…I have turned to the voice and face of David to ease my mind and somehow to give me hope…How is that possible? Thank you to David for being there with such a huge heart…Sadness continues but hope remains…
Joner, Jackryan, I’m really warmin’ up to that idea — Natasha or Sara (with a duet thrown in!) HG, Tess and Shroom, I find your analyses of possible acts to open for very interesting and enlightening. This is FUN!
Ronald! whoa! Way to go! I just downloaded your huMUNGO file!
I’ll be firing’er UP here momentarily!
::::checking watch:::: (how fast can new Houston videos go up ?) (and more important, how fast can silverfox go *thud!*)
Something you need to consider is who is actually going on tour the first part of next year. Some of the people you guys have mentioned are already on tour or have just finished touring. We can throw out names all night long, but if the timing is wrong, the timing is wrong. You have to choose the best of what’s available.
And no, I don’t think David is ready to go solo, even though it’s hard to wait until that time. He needs to gain more fans than just his core fanbase. He’s just starting out and BUILDING a career. He’s a NEW artist that already has a great head-start. It’ll happen when it’s supposed to. haha!
I don’t want him thrown to the wolves just because we want him all to ourselves. It won’t benefit him in the long run. Right now he’s earning respect and goodwill in the industry and gaining experience. As good as he is, he’s got to EARN his way..from the bottom up…just like any job. When you do this, not only do you NOT become resented by your peers and co-workers….you actually learn what you are supposed to so that when a monkey wrench is thrown into the works you know what the heck to do. You can handle anything that comes your way. You become a respected leader that way. And mark my words, he will be legendary. But not now. That’s not how to “win friends and influence people.” haha!
We just can’t wish it to be given to him. Real life doesn’t work that way. In our fantasy world he’d be a huge star right off the bat. But this is HIS REAL LIFE. He needs to experience it like everyone else.
So my wish is NO solo tour…..YET. haha!
1. David in rolled up sleeves!
2. David singing Silent Night a capella!
3. JR wrote: “Since allegedly the 2 daughters voted for our David during AI, wouldn’t it be cool if he gets to sing the anthem during Obama’s inaugural? Who would be better suited to musically usher this very young 1st family destined to lead change?”
4. *THUD.*
JR4DA~ speaking of updates have you seen this ..umm.updated photo….scroll down.you will know when you hit it !!..warning attached….
http://idolforums.com/index.phpshowtopic=586310&st=20
David mentioned that he fell asleep on a bed during his photo shoot for the album. I wonder if this was the bed? Also, I have not seen some of these photos before:
http://www.archuletafans.com/David-On-Sitting-A-Bed-t22431.html
lol… HG I share that fantasy, too! And… it could come true! *THUD!*
Juliebug! why you’ve transformed from a whimpering bliss ninny nearly instantaneously into a practical polly! lol. You’re right. SO… who’s available for David to tour with? I have to assume CB, because Dean said that was under discussion. Who else?
ReadMyMind I feel for you. All I can say is keep the faith and lead with love. It must be difficult. {{hug}}
Great interview!

I am not a prude but I think that bed pic is pretty inappropriate. I’m surprised David did it…I hope he wasn’t uncomfortable…
I like Sara Bareilles and Natasha Bedingfield too, but they are not big enough yet to headline arenas. Natasha opened for NKOTB on their arena tour which just ended. Also, David’s people are already in talks with CB’s peeps so this seems like it is pretty likely it may happen. I think they see synergies in that they are marketing both artists primarily to tween/teen girls (once again, we are not primary demo -- sniff). So what other Jive or Azoff artists would they consider? I think Britney, Pink, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera could all work. I like the idea of Christina best because above all she is a master vocalist like David…
If I ever doubted that there is truly a piece of Heaven on Earth, I experienced it today when listening to this masterpiece by David. When listening to David sing O Holy Night today, I cannot explain the tingling and burning I felt inside of me. The tears started, and I was and still am a complete mess! What a glorious gift to us from David at Christmas time. Thank you, David, thank you so very, very much.
140 RMM, i’m glad you are hopeful. hope is a good thing. once you choose hope, anything is possible!
145 Freo, i bet that is where he fell asleep. i wish the photos he took w/the black vest, red shirt, and black hat would surface.
DJ -- link to photo not working
Beebee -- I have NO idea! haha! I do know that some names mentioned, John Mayer, Natasha, Sarah etc. are already on tour or just ending a tour. Just giving my thoughts as to one reason Jive may be considering Chris Brown.
No transformation for me. I just don’t usually have anything to add to the conversation that hasn’t already been said or CAN be said better than I can. I’m not very good at writing what I MEAN.
So, I’ve decided that my job here is to help bring the fodder over for you guys to discuss. haha!
david + rolled up sleeves + bed = LETHAL COMBINATION
pleeeeaaaase, I want to reach and stay alive at the very least, till Christmas or to just stretch it a little, till my 47th bday…
am joining JULIEBUG in that whimper fest

LMAO!!! You know, am good at research, good at finding things or creating access so things find me, but hats off to the Snarkies for locaing this one:

Someone edited the entry for ‘Excited state’ on Wikipedia and added David’s image. Great find by Prianka If this does not prove that David permeates even the littlest of things when it comes to an ODD’er, I dunno what else does. A-hahahahahahahaha
LOL… Juliebug, you have LOTS to add to the conversation. You always make me LMAO! Don’t hold back, honeychile! (I don’t just love you for yer fodder… :p)
(I sent that bed pic to Xeno. Couldn’t help myself. lol.)
Ronald, that HD file is FABOO!!
Oh gosh, in that interview… looks like David is making yet another fast food chain *nervous* — wasn’t it Arby’s with bugs in the lettuce for the lettuce boy story… now In’n'Out Burger with what … food poisoning?? LOL — Oh they jez LOVE him now.
So am I the only one who fantasizes David doing a duet with [--fill in the blank--] of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” — only with roles reversed, and a few lyric tweaks? (lol… I may be alll alone in this one…) (with Natasha maybe?) (no?) (maybe???) :p
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_QoSg9HT7w
Jackryan, that link to the wiki reference doesn’t work (for me) :p
LOL! Beebee.

Please, PLEASE….to those who manage David…PLEASE release Oh Holy Night as a downloadable single.

Thanks Freo…he was probably too tired to think about it much, poor guy!
