News & Press . Noting David . Rascal
Well I would like to thank you all. Mr. Josie told me he would buy the tickets for both me and Mom! He told me “Of course you should go”…
I guess I oughtta tell her huh?
And it’s good I’m unemployed -- now I can sit right here at my computer and buy me some golden tickets.
♥ Behaving calmly, but not really -- I keep breaking out in hugantic smiles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok, so I just called her and she squealed!
Thanks for the encouragement -- you guys are awesome and I love you…♥
Josie #1201 -- that is great news!!! I am so happy for you and your Mom!
HG, hope you feel better soon. Josie, glad to hear you got a washer and dryer, and will think of you tomorrow on last day at work. SF, so sorry about your son but glad you took comfort in David’s music yesterday.
Is anyone else going to the Chicago show besides me and Joner? We got pre-sale tickets, but barely. They were gone within minutes.
Josie #1201 WTG! I was silently rooting for you to get those tickets!!!
Josie… that’s awesome… so great that you can enkuoy it with your mom. You really should get Rascal to go with you too!
HG… get better
Freo… watch out for snow… are you walking this time?
Josie..Thank Goodness! Now all’s good! See? One thing at a time..a good deal on a w&d WITH 0% int.
Now you are going to see David in concert!
Looks to me like things are on the upswing for you!Next..a great job!! Good things come to those who wait!
Freofan & everyone..thanks so much for your kind & thoughtful words.
Good night all! Stay warm & be safe if you’re in the storm’s path! For David..
Dear Lord, Though we are unworthy to ask,
Please take Care Of David. Watch over him, Protect him from all harm. Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path. Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give. Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him UNCONDITIONALLY as we, his ARCHANGELS do. Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being. Give him rest when he’s weary. Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace. Give him assurance when he feels doubt. Give him joy when he feels sad. Cloak him always in your protective arms. Keep David healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born.
Though we may be unworthy, we humbly pray.
Sweet dreams! Be safe & secure in our love always! Take care. You will always be numero uno in our eyes! Thank you for all you do and for just being you!
CONTIGO SIEMPRE CON AMOR!
!!!enkuoy!!! yikes -enjoy
Sweet dreams, SF.
refnaf, we’ll be right by the venue this time. We learned our painful lesson last time.
Just wanted to check back here before signing off for the night. Thanks everyone for your well wishes! I’m sure I’ll be feeling better tomorrow.
SF, you’ve already said good night, but if you or anyone wants to know about the Salt Lake City episode, I don’t know if they showed Dean Kaelin’s daughter or not. And David Osmond got through to Hollywood.
They did feature David in the episode, but the AI producers are so passive aggressive in the ways they try to look like they’re supportive of David (then undermine this support).
Case in point: they choose SLC as an audition spot because of David, and from the folks they featured on tonight’s show, it’s obvious they’re looking for the next teen sensation coming out of Utah.
But do they say: “Will Salt Lake City yield another teenage sensation?”
Oh noooooo. Their script was: “Are the citizens of Utah as squeaky clean as David Archuleta?”
Yep, that’s what the focus was: how “clean cut” David is -- not that he’s this amazing talent or has hordes of fangirls or has a hit single (although they did promote the movie trailer featuring Crush during commercials).
It was all about how “squeaky clean” David was (while most of the contestants featured in auditions were anything but -- read: these Utah kids are “way cooler” this year).
Needless to say, I’m kind of annoyed that I backtracked on my vow to not watch this show again, but the glimpse of David on my tele tonight was worth it.
But, seriously: their dishonesty in how they treat David is ridiculous at this point.
On that note, I shall say g’nite all, and thanks again for your positive thoughts and wishes!
HG -- I have no words left for AI. Well, a few, but they are unprintable.
I seriously think Rascal has been involved in an alien abduction. Wonder if they listen to David.
Yikes, aliens! This is worse than I thought.
Please, please, return our dear rascal. We need him more than you.
HG, I agree.
David should have been all over that episode. They think there is a goldmine to be had in Utah because of him. Do they even talk about his talent? No. They make slight fun of his squeaky clean image.
They are users. I am done with them.
HG & betsey: I totally agree. I was so irritated by the way they played that out tonight. They should have showed his audition and then a vid from one of his Jingle concerts to show how far he’s come (without their help, I might add). Argh!
I’m with HG, emmegirl, dfLIZ, besty, and anyone else--I am sooo done with AI !!! I was really disappointed in the show tonight. Last night and tonight were the first (and last) I’ve watched this season. I just can’t stand the way they totally ignore the fact that THE VOICE is from here. (Anger builds) and gave AI7 some good ratings.
Like betsy said, “They are users.” I too, am done.
It would be interesting to know what happened to Dean Kaelin’s daughter. Not one word was said about her, not even on Fox13 news. Anybody know?
From seeing spoilers on IDF a few weeks ago, I recall that Anna Kaelin did get a gold ticket to Hollywood.
Just checking in briefly before heading to bed.
I too was wondering about Dean Kaelin’s daughter.
Steno: Thanks for that info. My kids still watch idol, so I watch it with them. Only really interested in David references and connections though!
It’s officially Thursday and the Sayerville show is just 4 short weeks away. I’m getting shakey just thinkin’ about it!
**off to bed**
Regarding AI, did you see the signs some of the contestants in Salt Lake City held up while waiting in the arena for their turn? I caught two of them..
“I TAUGHT DAVID EVERYTHING HE KNOWS”
and the second (don’t quote me on this one)
“HOME OF THE WINNER”
I didn’t like the way they poked fun of David’s squeaky clean image either. As if that’s something to joke about.
I agree with you Marlie7 post #1215.They should have shown footage, if possible, of David in action at “Jingle Ball”, for example, to show the public how far he’s come from being on AI.
And it’s off to bed, hopefully to dream about Sayreville.
Forgot to post this link!!
David Archuleta’s Official Store!!!
(tshirts, hoodies, tote bags, posters)
Let’s see if this works:
bebereader -- it worked. Oh, that poster!
fandaforever -- and Tess -- Tempe, AZ? I’m leaning toward that one, if I do go, but now I have a new hurdle… layoffs at work. Not me, at this point, but they’re just getting underway with it all. And one never knows, in these times. I *should* be cautious, money-wise. But will I be? Aiyee. (Probably not!!) But I’m very “under the weather” this week, so no decision just yet. Just doing a bit of lurking, and popped in to say “hi!” to all you wonderful—and lucky!!—NDers! Especially those with tickets already!
ebonyangel#1158, sweetonda#1175 -- would love to meet up with David fangirls -- Arizona Sun Angels (like that -- esp the SUN part); my lack of concert going experience (my first & hopefully just the first of many more) leaves me completely lost; though my hubby was anticipating my attending a concert he seems disinterested in attending with me. Also surprised my daughter in law but she said “I’m pretty tough so I should be able to hold my own in a mosh pit.” Is anyone coming from out of town, too? Are you planning on ordering tickets on the 7th or will there be a presale?
Yeh, highervibe! Hope you can attend. Do take care of yourself, though. I think we have a week to decide if it’ll all work for us. It would be great if you can. We need to show our ND west (ernish) representation. Looks like most on this coast & inland are pretty scattered. Probably why there are fewer venues. Wished I could hit two or three more. Was looking forward to one in Utah. Love that state -- so much natural beauty. Maybe this summer or fall.
So here’s a question -- do you think I’m too old to put up that DA poster on my wall? I mean, maybe I could put it in one of the girls’ bedrooms or something and just go lay on the bed every now and then and gaze at it….and it’s not like they’re around -- they’re off doing college now so they probably wouldn’t really mind.
Good morning everyone! Woke up feeling so much better -- shall I attribute it to a dose of David’s music and seeing him on TV (even if I was annoyed by the context in which he appeared)?
Josie, hang up that David poster! And do it with full on ODD, Arch Angel pride!
So, fortunately, the buzz around last night’s episode is how completely DISHONEST many are finding American Idol! Yippee!
Now, granted, the buzz isn’t about how dishonest they were in representing David -- rather, it was about how many “plants” they identified on the show. You know, so-called “undiscovered talents” who apparently have been veterans in the music business, no matter how marginal?
I myself wouldn’t care about whether the contestants are real “amateurs” or professional music artists looking for their major breakout in show biz. But here’s a clue, producers:
BE HONEST ABOUT IT! Sheesh!
Now, if they had framed the episode around David’s amazing talent, and whether there was more to be found in Utah, maybe -- just maybe -- audiences and TV critics would have been focusing on whether there were any contestants in SLC as talented as David. But, since they talked about his “personality,” that’s what everyone looked at -- then discovered some of these “personalities” aren’t so “fresh and undiscovered” as the show makes believe.
I’m feeling better enough to get back to work. So have a great day, everyone!
Josie: Glad you are going to a concert with your Mom. Hooray!
Ah, the fine art of poster gazing….I have it on the authority of my 13 yo granddaughter that the poster is best placed on the ceiling and then she can lay and gaze without getting a “crick” in her neck….
HG -- Recover quickly.
SF -- Thinking of you
Rapture -- you slay me (SNL is definitely your style)
O rascal, rascal…wherefore art thou, rascal? Deny thy work and refuse us no more…… j/k
HG-as you can see, all I need is a smidgen of encouragement and I do stuff…(ie…taking mother to concert) so I am SO getting a poster…
and Miss Kizzi (just sent you an email btw-LOL) -- your granddaughter is a genius…the ceiling!!! I never thought of that -- and maybe it won’t be so obs either
our rascal is definitely MIA…I haven’t talked to him for a couple of days now….I don’t know if I’ll have time today as it’s my last day at Timberland -- bittersweet for me…but tomorrow I get a new washer and dryer delivered ( I love doing laundry…really) and 2 tickets to see David. When one door closes, God opens a window.
Truer words were never written.
This is the first week for “Crush” on Billboard’s “Hot Singles Recurrents.”
It ranks #1.
For anyone going to Sayersville and wanting a parking pass I jumped the gun and bought one before knowing my travelmate also has one. If interested please email at [email protected]. Sounds like we will have a fabulous ND group going. Thanks to Happy and Kizzi for the cool organizational efforts.
In watching the AI auditions I have yet to see Paula do the “Archumelt” for anyone else. He had her at hello…. and all of us too.
Good morning all! The second week of school and my teacher has called off this a.m.! I could’ve jumped throught the phone and thanked her for that! Gives me a chance to get out of lurkdom and see how all the ND group is? Josie, you are so right when you say “one door closes, and another one opens”. I so appreciate your “can-do” attitude. The glass is half-full isn’t it? Sorry HG has been sick. Heck of a time of the year with all this cold, cold weather. So much snow and ice and cold here in Michigan. Why do I live here? Every winter I ask myself that question.
I sincerely hope our fearless leader( Rascal) is OK. Seems strange when we go so long without hearing from him. Kinda lonely……
School is overwhelming me a little bit. 13 credit hours and I haven’t been to school in 30 years! Trying to keep things in balance.
I’m wondering if anybody has the promo code for the Chicago concert presale internet tickets? My 2 daughter’s and I will be going, long as I can purchase tickets before they are sold-out! That would STINK since I am happy to be able to afford them and also, that my beautiful daughter’s wish to go with me. David is winning over many more fans. I talked about him in my English class as we were discussing new music. 26 students in that class, NO-ONE knew who he was. THEY DO NOW!!!
As for AI, Who cares? Not I. Nor is any one of my family watching. I believe my votes never even mattered. So, their loss! David is going to be just fine. His talent is WAY beyond them anyways.
So proud of you. Going back to school at our age is a brave and fun thing to do! I am planning on doing the same this summer.
Summer. It seems so far away. I, too, am a Michigander. This cold and snow has me dreaming of someplace warm. It will all be worth it when the thermometer hits anywhere north of 50.
I want to go to Chicago but we shall see. Husband hurt his back and am taking him to the Dr. today. He can hardly move.
archangel48: Code for all TicketMaster pre-sales for David is “Crush”
Oh Betsy, my prayers are with you and your Hubby. A back is not a thing to mess with. I hope he is alright and you can get to the concert in Chicago. Let me know, maybe we can all meet up. I didn’t read in the last 20 or so posts about a get together before or after in Chi town? Anybody? Thanks Betsy, for the kudos on going to college. It will be interesting going forward.(Amazing, though I do “feel” a little smarter already! Surprising that it’s my computer class I am struggling with the most. I thought it would be algebra? There weren’t any computers when I was in High School! GAH…maybe I over think it…I have been accused of that. I am off to English now…I check back when I get to class to see if anyone knows about the pre-sale ticket promo code for Chicago?! Good Day!
marlie7…thanks to the code…Crush…I have two tickets to Sayerville…thinking into tickets for Virginia Beach…I may not use them all but I have an interest in being in Virginia Beach for the rather historical concert that will be his first solo concert…David will be so excited…what a great place as well with seating!!! I am not a lover of standing anytime…We fly into Newark every few weeks so that is familiar territority…also flying from Nova Scotia to Newark the weather could mean we miss a flight…how disappointing would that be to not get there…?! We are so buried in snow…the snow plough fellow is here right now crashing his blade through the ice and snow…
Thanks to Fanblast for the info. for sure….David looks wonderful in his tux but a stage picture on this site with him siging his heart out would be exciting right now…!!
Rascal has a new thread up!
Sandy Beaches . . could I ask what part of Nova Scotia you are from? My son lived there for two years . . just came home a year ago. He loved the people he met there.
