SF, thanks for your thoughts. I never thought it about from that angle. I really value here that we can speak our thoughts.

Freo #570..I think..and this is totally MY guess..that the reason FOD and Snarky's and maybe some others, will never say anything "negative" regarding Jeff, even if it's with good intentions and only with David's best interests at heart..is because they get a lot of "inside info" directly from Jeff. He even posts sometimes at FOD..so they say. Their "very reliable source" I imagine is in fact Jeff, or a close associate of Jeff''s who gets the OK from Jeff to "leak" info.
I think they have posters at other sites who feel the same as we, but wouldn't want to rock the boat so to speak. This site allows us to say how we feel as long as it's within the guidelines rascal has outlined.
Feeling as some of us do has NOTHING to do with Jeff as a person. He is very nice, sweet & gentle, I'm sure as everyone who has met him can attest.. And even when David was still a minor, I still had a problem with Jeff being within camera range..but now when David is no longer a minor..there is no legitimate reason whatsoever for Jeff to be on camera ever..in the background as David's manager, yes. Unless someone specifically requests a photo of Jeff..and you know what? Even then, Jeff should think twice before agreeing to have his photo taken or give his autograph at any of David's promos, concerts, etc..It's ABOUT David, after all, isn't it?
Make no mistake..the other sites are well aware of how some of us feel here..This site is one of the best sites dedicated to David..we have many lurkers from other sites, not to mention maybe even relatives & friends of the Archuletas..I just hope they realize when we post our concerns..it it with the utmost love & respect for David. I know not everyone agrees and I respect their right to disagree. That's what's so great about this blog..and if we're overstepping..rascal will let us know..and we can move on to another subject.
And I may never be welcome at any other site again!

Oops. This is what my friend had to say:

"Thanks for David. I have very much enjoyed listening to him and watching him sing his songs. I can only imagine that he will mature into an even more wonderful performer."

Coming from him it was high praise. Or maybe he thought I was crazy and didn't want to upset the applecart even further! haha.

Today's Boston Globe TV Guide blurb for American Idol had this to say: "Finally, the Hollywood round begins. Now those of us who hate the stunt-filled auditioning phase can safely jump into the show without having to deal with the real nuts, fake nuts, and really fake nuts."

After watching the show passively since the beginning, I have little desire to jump into the shark infested waters again but have I said lately how much I love and appreciate all the nuts of every flavor, shape and size here? You are all the real deal!

mommuzboys #543 For a newcomer to David, I would suggest Heaven (Salt Lake TV station version) and Imagine (1st version). Maybe the AOL sessions if they are still available. For a live performance in front of a large crowd, I would recommend Touch My Hands from the Sacramento Jingle.

mommuzboys # 543 — I recently spent a lot of time thinking of which videos to send to a friend whose opinion was the first I truly cared about. He grew up in a family of prominent classical musicians and has very strong opinions about music. I decided to give him a progression and include ones that were live as well as not in front of an audience. I knew he would hate the screaming fans, but wanted him to see David in his element so those ones came with a warning. Here was my list for this particular friend:

From American Idol Show:
Imagine (1st version)
Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

From American Idol tour:
When You Say You Love Me (Salt Lake City)
Angels (Tulsa)

From various live performances:
Imagine (jwipes version at Hollywood tree lighting)
O Holy Night (jwipes version at Hollywood tree lighting)
A Thousand Miles (Hard Rock Cafe)
Works For Me (Sundance Film Festival)

No Audience:
You Can (AOL Sessions)

It was still a lot to send, but my friend was recuperating so I knew he had time on his hands. I was happy to receive this response:
<> I laughed when he asked why the audiences felt it was okay to scream instead of listening like they were supposed to. Count me amongst those who long to hear him at Lincoln Center or a similar venue, yet I am soon to subject myself to my third bout of audience screams in Northhampton and happy to do so, because nothing compares to hearing the Voice live and basking in the light that is David alongside fans who feel the same way. My appreciation and admiration for this young man continues to grow.

Just like Gypsy Rose, David may have to be the one to tell his dad. I pretty much think that once he makes up his mind about something, it's a done deal.

Lamblisskasden
"What is seen as adorable and endearing at 16 or 17 can morph into something a little creepy at 18"

I agree with you and also about the part that David is no country bumpkin!

Jeff, give your son some credit and some space...he can handle the stage, Lord knows we know he can handle the stage

Does anyone have the guts to post the feedback to Jeff on ND, where people close to David will see it? I think the feedback can be framed nicely, as info to be aware of.
