David’s Unfolding Story, Through Music

David Signing after Mardi Gras
On a mid-summer day in 1982, my sister and I received an airmailed letter from Sydney, Australia. Tearing open the letter with excitement, I immediately recognized the writing as that of Russell Hitchcock, the co-lead singer of the pop band Air Supply, an Australian band that achieved worldwide fame in the early 1980s.
I had sent Hitchcock a letter months earlier and described myself as a young fan. Without a real address, my sister and I simply addressed the letter, “Russell Hitchcock; c/o Air Supply; Sydney, Australia,” and placed a domestic postage stamp on it.
Aside from the miracle that the letter had reached Hitchcock, I will never forget Hitchcock’s kind response to a young rural girl. To my young eyes, I viewed Air Supply as larger than life. That hand-written letter with Hitchcock’s distinctive cursive writing taught me that the band included real people with busy, often complicated lives.
Now, more than 25 years later, I view young David Archuleta’s career from an adult standpoint. I have met and spoken with David several times. Each interaction was a needed reality check for me about the sheer work that David’s career requires.

Leaving LAX (summer 2008)
As avid fans, we see the photographed, videotaped, broadcasted, and blogged results when David shows up for an event. However, I often think about the hard work that is not readily visible except when David shares glimpses through his blogs and interviews: Early morning flights, endless airport check-ins, performing on little sleep, adjusting (or not) between time zones, opening the door to yet another anonymous hotel room, enjoying quick visits with extended family and friends during promotion stops, learning a score received the night before a recording session, and so on.
During one night this past week, a fan reported that David did not leave his bus after his concert because, according to the fan’s recollection, Jeff said that David was “exhausted.” This moment really struck me because we know how much David loves to interact with his fans.
Visiting new countries will soon be added to David’s list. Following David’s schedule and imagining the logistics behind the scenes leaves me tired.

David at the Detroit airport on his way to record in Indianapolis (Summer 2008)
However, I can also sense David’s excitement. I see a lot of my young self in David. I was about David’s age when I traveled to England and Continental Europe for the first time. Through travel, I realized that the world was much bigger and messier than my small-town and conservative upbringing ever let on.
As I watch David’s story unfold, I am delighted about the new experiences that await him while realizing his dedication in making it all happen. I know he will experience highs and lows as we all do. I anticipate how his personal growth will be communicated through his music in the coming years.
When I attended David’s Ford Day concert last September, a fellow fan showed me a hand-written postcard from David. The postcard reminded me of Hitchcock’s letter that today is tucked away with my sister’s most treasured belongings. These letters, which affirm our artists’ appreciation for the fans, accompany the music that tells their story to us.

a beautiful post freo. Thank you.
Freo…What a most interesting story that you have told…requires to be read at least twice…
I must add that I have never seen David look mmore mature and handsome then in this picture…
A lovely story!
Awww, thanks! The Air Supply story is legend in my family! I plan to also send this post to Air Supply. I have always wanted to thank Russell Hitchcock for his kindness in writing to a young girl.
Freofan, lovely. We must never loose sight of the fact that David continues to work so very hard behing the scenes for what he so willingly gives to his fans during his performances, meet and greets, autograph signing sessions… It never ceases to amaze me how he is always smiling, even when beyond tired. The most recent evidence of this was the KRZ 98.5 interview he did yesterday. I am continually in awe of this young man and very humbled by him as well.
If he did in fact cry at the end of his Angels performance tonight, then I am so very proud that all his fans are able to and give back to him enough love to really make him realize the depths to which he has connected with us. Unconditional love breeds unconditional love, something that I feel has become even more evident as time passes and will continue for a long time.
Freofan,
Beautiful post. Thank you for reminding us just how hard a job David has right now. He has gone from a kid in high school hanging out with his friends, and working part-time to doing a man’s job. The schedule is grueling, the pressure is unending. So much riding on his success and it is ultimately all on him. He is living his dream, but, as with every other successful performer, it comes with a cost. All we can do is keep him in our prayers, voice our concerns, and continue to love and support him.
Freofan do it. Send this post to Russell Hitchcock. I think he would really appreciate it!
freo,
Thanks for the beautiful post. Sometimes my worry for him is too much to give voice to.
He has given me great happiness.
Awwwww…..he’s so cute.

Freo,
It’s good to see a post like this one. In all the frenzy and chaos that has been around David this past year, he remains so serene. Realizing how difficult his daily schedule can be on him and his family, brings one to pause and ask “Could I maintain that pace? “, it’s not for the weak of spirit. He shows us his dedication to his craft each day. He works hard and it is paying off. We all benefit so much. The tour shows just get better!
Abrra
Freofan, I look forward to reading your post in a moment.
Right now, I am feeling a bit freaked out at what Abbra and bliss were talking about on the last post -- that moment in “Don’t Let Go” when David drops his head and starts singing different words.
And then he cried at the end of Angels. I’m feeling like he is just exhausted. My heart goes out to him. It’s all just too much!
liz -- I keep telling myself that it was an inside joke. That he meant to do that
Oh Freo..What a lovely story and wonderful post. I can only begin to imagine the hard work and efforts for David. Thank you for focusing on hat. David’s family also has made many sacrifices in more ways than we will ever know. Just the constant exhausting travel, the meetings, interviews, recording sessions,( starting during the AI tour) learning the songs for the tour, many early AN fights and many, many radio gigs. the
TV gigs, the AOL sessions and the list goes on.( and I am getting tired just recounting a few) I am sure there are not enough hours in the day. Yet through it all, he has maintained such a thankful heart and sweet demeanor…He has an amazing work ethic. Lord knows that SF’s prayer is needed every day.

Go back and read the follow up posts that explain what he was saying? I had not read about The Fray line before. But on it’s face that moment was strange if you don’t understand the Fray reference. David is evolving as an artist and he does “get into ” the songs a lot more on this tour. See previous 500+ posts as proof. A lot of emotion flowing to and from the fans. Ain’t it grand?
Abrra
Forgive the bad spelling. Yes Betsy,,,,After looking at the tape of I sort of think he intentionally inserted those words in
DLG also. Boy talk about putting it all out there on that one. Never seen anything quite like it.
betsy -- Perhaps that was it. It was a very strange moment.
Freofan -- LOVELY post. And I see that my earlier concern about David’s exhaustion is actually part of your story. So much goes on behind the scenes. Yes -- for David, it must be part excitement/ part unending, grueling work. Your miracle of the letter is just a GREAT story. That small gesture on the part of your hero meant so much.
Abrra 12:23 -- thanks, I’ll do that.
I look forward to SF’s prayer for David every night. I say it out loud for him as I am reading it. Her words in the prayer are exactly what I wish for him too. I hope he has heard it at least once to know the depth of our caring for his health and well- being. I would add for him right now, about 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep. BTW…OH MY HECK on the DLG video. His energy is mind-blowing! (I only hope he is OK?)
David is truly a wonderful human being who we are just now getting to know. His music will slowly clue us in to his inner core, which is much more complex than we have seen so far. When I saw the video of “Don’t Let Go” in NJ and witnessed that “moment” at the end when he seemed to be transported to another space, only to return the next second, I knew there was a whole “other” David. I just keep loving him more each day for his selflessness and knee-buckling humanity.

Zero Gravity -- Lancaster
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Di4fp5w7yY&eurl=http://www.snarkyarchies.com/
I hope he has the stamina for this tour. I’ve never been a big fan of the grueling schedule they have planned for him.
He still has a very long way to go.
This venue and stage was way too small for David. He’s too popular.
From a poster at Snarky’s:
“Thanks for the video. I was there in Lancaster but I was not able to see this or anything else!!!
We were near the end of the line and when we got to the floor the stage is on, the crowd was packed all the way into the lobby of that floor. About 40-50 people including us could not even get INTO the room and I could not see any part of the stage over heads.
The guy guarding the stairs to the balcony said if we went upstairs we could not come back down because they were over-capacity downstairs. But he said at least I would be able to see upstairs. We went upstairs and he was wrong. People were 3 deep at the balcony edge and and a lot of them could not see -- only the ones at the balcony rail could see and some people right behind them.
I sat on a 4-foot high rail behind them and then I could see a sliver of the right side of the stage (Kendra and Alex). That’s all I could see for the whole concert. After Crush, my fiance spotted that some third row people at the balcony rail left and I went there and by stooping and looking between two girls’ waists I was able to see a bit of David singing 1000 Miles. David was SO close and clear!!! It would have been totally amazing to be in front at that rail. I had that small between-the-waists view for about 2 verses until some 6-foot guy decided to push in front of me and totally cut off my view. I missed the rest of 1000 Miles but then was able to see a bit of David (his head anyway) singing Angels by stretching and looking over a short girl’s shoulder. Then it was over.
Awww -- he was SO CLOSE but I hardly saw him at all.”
OMG!!!
THUD!!!
Zero Gravity -- He was jumping around, so happy and filled with that song.
Feel bad for the poster at Snarky’s. Now I’m worried about Infinity. It’s a weird venue.
This is my opinion on the DLG moment at 2.35
I know David goes into a trance sometimes when he sings; he has even talked about it in an interview I saw once. But really, I personally, and this is just my opinion, don’t think that was the case in that DLG moment. In fact, to my mind, the only spooky thing about it is his uncanny, unearthly, evolving performance skills. There is no doubt in my mind that move was deliberate. He is becoming an extremely consummate performer. The collapse, the look on his face when he rises up, was something so powerful and beautiful. I give him credit for knowing exactly what he is doing and getting very good at it. He is a genius in using his whole body, including his facial expressions to convey the feeling he wants to communicate in a song. I don’t think it was unintentional; I think it was brilliant and profoundly moving. That he is capable of showing such astonishing viruosity at the tender age of 18 is what I find spooky.
Angelica: I have to agree that I think he did it intentionally. I can’t say I think it was planned, but it was right for him at the moment. We don’t and probably won’t know what it meant to him or what he was thinking of. But it was moving just the same. He put his whole body into the emotions that the words evoked and intensified them. Amazing!
JULIEBUG 12:17 -- thanks for posting that. Now the other vid of him entitled “David is happy” now makes sense!
LIZ -- I remember How to Save a Life from Grey’s Anatomy. It was used as a soundtrack during the hospital-prom/Denny’s death episode or when Grey was supposed to choose between McDreamy & McVet
Interesting to note that the guitar chords of the chorus of “How to Save a Life” and “Don’t Let Go” are almost the same (C-G-F-Am combo) that David saw how it could be a good counterpoint. He should know this cos Fray is one of his favorite bands. Cool
well I am finally done…Enjoy and Good night~~
A THOUSAND MILES..

~sweet dreams~
jr4DA and Angelica -- thanks for your thoughts on the DLG moment.
djxox -- you are wonderful -- thank you so much and what a lot of work!
Thanks marlie7..one more small moment of sweetness to finish off the night in a moment ..I thought it was just too sweet not to share…I hope you don’t mind….
David Archuleta~ Sayreville
THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT
Thank you djxox. MUWAAAHH!! I hope it warms the cockles of your heart to know how much happiness you have brought into our lives. Have a much deserved rest.
I was going to stay up and see if there were any more videos from Lancaster, but it’s cold and my warm covers are calling. See you all tomorrow!

If I missed any (anyone?) let us know and someone will post it.
now I really am going to bed.
me too.. Thanks Marlie
Sorry I accidentally pressed submit w/o finishing my post at 1:28
With the semblance between the 2 songs, David &/or the band must have been playing with them and saw the opportunity to make a counterpoint — very similar to SBM/Beautiful Girl technique. Which means to me, it was a pre-meditated move.
Even the lyrics of the 2 songs is a good example of a counterpoint.
Fray is saying: “Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend. Somewhere along the bitterness. I would have stayed with you all night, had I known how to save a life.”
David counters: “Some days are cold, but together; one day we’ll both change the weather, and it gets better. [And I know how to save a life] Hold on, hold on, is what I’m doing; So strong, so strong, what I’m feeling…”
Nice one, David
Ahhhh he is a master at his craft!
Now, his performance however is something else! Note how David performs well when it is a song that he has a hand in making. he is more at ease, more into the zone and freer to express his being.
Hold on.. hold on… don’t let go… JIVE wake up to the gem that you have!
Pretty much like what Freo is saying in her fantastic post/story. David’s story is unfolding right before our eyes and ears!
[darn fingers! hit submit before my last sentence. sorry!]
Hello to everyone! Especially to jackryan4da, I would like to ask her if she happens to know when is the exact date of DA’s concert in Manila, I am from the southern part of the Philippines, I want to attend DA’s concert in Manila so I have to plan it in advance, I am a mother of 2 so I need to have my schedule plan and also to book a flight in advance, I hope you can help me, thanks.
Freofan, thanks for sharing your story. I loved Air Supply when I was a kid. What a sweet act of kindness Russell Hitchcock bestowed on you. I wonder when people do this, do they realize that it means to the recipient. I am sure he would love to read this post.
Also, I think fans need to understand how hard David works. This is a tough life. Especially when you can’t call your own shots. The sacrifice to the family is astounding. Yet he does it with such grace and beauty. This is no diva. He’s not doing this for the financial rewards. He has things he has to say. I am certainly listening.
Happy, I loved your previous post. It was a joy to spend almost an entire evening reading the comments from attendees and cellcast listeners.
Dj, your videos were exceptional. I was silly and didn’t try to get NJ, or PA tickets because I was hoping for a NYC venue. Thanks to you I had a great seat anyway.
I’ve not had a minute to fully enjoy David’s first week on tour until tonight. I have been gobbling everything up like a greedy child. Except with David I just get sweet satisfaction instead of a tummy ache.
I must say his progression from night to night is incredible. I mean the dancing, the passion. This young man has no idea how good he is, or how good he will be. Someone needs to clue him in!
BTW, this young man brings the smexy. I should not be watching some of these videos during this time of the night….
I have been really worried about David’s schedule. it seems like when there is no concert, he’s doing promotional stuff. He does not get any full day off. He’ll get burned out this way, although he is young. I remembered working without any days off for a month, a long time ago, and it was really devastating.
I am so glad that there is a place like this that we can be silly together, and worry together.
Jackryan, you said, because of time zone difference, you were here alone sometimes. I am in California, but I cannot get on line freely until hubby and kids are asleep, like now. Maybe you can teach me a few down loading, up loading tricks. I am going to Reno, and would be taking pics and vids, but clueless regarding posting at YouTube and the other stuff. I finally downloaded a “barrier” video last night. But this morning, it came up with no video, just audio.
Freofan, thank you for your lovely post. I have not had the opportunity to meet David myself yet (or may never) but I too have received a hand-written postcard from David which will remain a treasure forever.
Like davidfanLIZ, reading Abbra’s and Bliss’ posts from the last thread, and then coming here to read the new thread, I felt even more concerned thinking about David’s (possible) exhaustion.
It’s good to know perhaps it was all deliberate. One thing for sure though is how completely he goes into a song sometimes. Even if it was a planned move on his part to sing a line from another song, when he was finished, you see how he seemed to still be where the song took him to and was not coming out so quickly. He’s said before that during AI, immediately after finishing his song, he can barely focus on what the judges were saying to him because he was spent (paraphrasing).
frmozc -- the announced dates are between Apr 2-4. I would love to meet you so we can attend together if you like
peruu -- ok, for downloading from youtube, I suggest you sue YouTube Catcher which you could get from here: http://www.youtubecatcher.com

The Chameleon
) Then there was a a second level balcony thing that wrapped around the side of the stage. So some people were literally on top of stage right. There was also a third balcony which was pretty cool, and the whole place (all three levels) were standing rooms only. The energy was amazing again, so many cool people out there. I thought we rocked so hard on Waiting For Yesterday and Crush. Those two tunes felt particularly comfortable behind the drums… I was loving it! David rocked again tonight too! He was moving all over the stage and dancing, which was so awesome to watch
) Also, it was so nice to meet a bunch of you before and after the show. Everyone was so cool and nice… thank you for the gifts too! The rest of the band and I really really really appreciate all that you do for us. We love all of you!
Tonight was awesome! The Chameleon is a cool place… it had a few different levels to it. First there was the main floor which was packed all the way to the back of the room!! As far as I looked I could see people, that was so sweet

Thanks Jackryan. Will try them.
Thanks djxox. You spent so much time (literally days) on bringing on the vids. It’s a good deed ’cause tons of people would be enjoying them with big grins. I saw so many comments praising them at Youtube.
I just can’t stop feeling bad that David is not getting a day off when there is no concert. Am mad at whoever.
STOP THE PRESS!!! Just read this from FOD:

Richard says:
Cool! I love Zero Gravity. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the recorded version!
Woo-hoo!!!!! ZG FTW, 2x win!!!!! [GLANCE AWAY]
OhMy -- you are all asleep and am dancing the dance of joy all by my lonesome again BUT THAT’S OK!!! [MINOR SHOULDER SHIMMY]
ZG FTW! Billboard #1 here David comes!!!! Woo-hoo!!! [MAJOR SHOULDER SHIMMY WITH KNEE BEND AND OUTSTRETCHED HAND]
Jackryan4da, thanks for the reply, I would really like to attend it with you. I always read your comments here and from ND and admire how you are very good in expressing yourself. I assume that you have a career and that you are very successful. Compared to you, I am just a homemaker, stay at home all the time to attend to my family, it’s not that I am complaining but I have to admit that years of staying home all the time not having a career has made me inferior and lost my self-confidence. I still have to ask permission from my husband to go, I know he will understand but I do not know with my in laws, ha, ha, ha they would probably never understand why I would leave home for a while just to watch a concert of an 18 year old, (but I know my husband will cover for me).
Oh well, thanks again for the info, I read that DA will have a concert at MOA, am I right? I would like to give to you my email ad so that we can communicate, is it ok with you? Thanks,……
Oh, and don’t forget -- he has added some jumps to ZG now! This is one good song for a workout, seriously!
He should go back to AI with ZERO GRAVITY
take that simon!

And hep-hep: NEVER, NEEEEEEVER say that you are JUST a home maker. Yes I have a career but my #1 career remains to be a homemaker and I am proud of it. NONE of my male colleagues would hold a candle to me because of that and am not bragging. Am just telling it like it is.
Cos where in this galaxy can you find a career WITHOUT training but expects you to be a teacher, doctor, accountant, planner, organizer, eventologist, marketer, decorator, psychologist, psychiatrist, salesman, detective, fashionista, therapist, mechanic, magician, fortune teller, actor — all rolled into one. And these roles only apply to being a mother.
Being a wife requires another set of skills, riiight?
So stand proud & high to be a homemaker, frmozc! We’re a cut above the rest. Remember that.
And David wept…
I’m going to have to process this, along with the “zoning out” moment that occurred during the DLG video (which, BTW, I’ll need to hunt down, unless someone has the link to post here).
Good morning everyone.
Freofan--Beautiful post and a loving tribute to David. Thank you.
HG -- Go to this blogs Tour Reflection tab at top of page. Click on Sayreville link. Scroll down to DLG. Moment is 2:35
OK, that didn’t take long to hunt down (and I would post the link but for some reason my computer won’t copy/paste the link here).
I’m not ready to say I’m “freaked out” or “spooked” by what David did at the 2:35 mark. First, he’s a consummate pro, and I do believe, as Angelica expressed, that David knows exactly what he’s doing. It’s a perfect improvisational moment in which he interjects the lyrics “And I know how to save a life.” GAH!
What I imagine has some of us spooked is for David to have such profound knowledge at his age that this is what his music is doing, what he can do to make a difference in the world.
DLG has always been one of my least favorite tracks, but watching this video and how David is just so intensely into it, I’m giving it a very different listen. The pleading, the in-the-zone moments that he’s channeling, he’s simply stunning and divine. That’s a huge gift to be able to transform a song that I had found so generic on his CD.
I’m still waiting for his “David wept” moment in Angels video b/c I know I’ll be weeping too.
Thanks, Freo, for reminding us how hard David works, and oh how hard he works. His interjecting “I know how to save a life” might be his own personal reminder that this is why he keeps doing it and keeps exhausting himself to do it.
I hope his peeps are giving him all the TLC he needs right now.
jackryan4da, thanks for uplifting my spirits, I will always remember what you say and you got me teary eyed, my kids are growing up and sometimes they make me feel they do not need me anymore, they get and out of the house, well you know how teenagers are today but I am close to my son, my husband is an OFW so I am always left alone at home when my kids are at school and in weekends they go out on their own, I am thankful that I have this website to read to smile and laugh alone. I also watch DA’s performances in you tube. When my husband was on vacation I made him watch the final performances of DA and DC on AI and I ask him who he thinks win, he says DA. My son and daughter likes DA too, my son have his songs in his ipod. By the way. I just wonder why you never mention a nurse in all the profession, ha ha ha coz that is what I am when I was single 20 years ago. Thank you very much for giving me your email ad, I will email you soon. ( pwede ba in tagalong na lang? )
My life before? Everyday I go to the mall just to let the day pass by and to forget how much I miss my hubby, I end up buying things which I do not actually need that leaves me short in my budget but now I am always at home glued in my computer to check on latest news about DA and to read all your funny comments and insights about this amazing young man, and it is good coz I am never short of my budget now. What I am trying to say is that, being a DA fan has made me learn how to be thrifty……. do I make sense?????????
Thanks, Kizzi, I’ll need to remember the Tour Reflections page has all this stuff.
Last 50 seconds of My Hands is phenomenal -- David vocalizing at his best, soulful, chilling. As I listened I imagined David and the band playing around during rehearsal and coming up with this. What a treasure the last 50 seconds is…not to be missed!

this site/blog has now become my mecca. This morning I woke up to snow falling and WFY soaring thru my head, especially the “ay ay” part with David holding the mic out to the crowd. So I bounce down to the computer knowing it will all be there for me. Love the new post Freo. Cannot wait to see the Angels vid and look forward to rewatching all of DJ’s wonderful Sayreville experiences. What a place to be! I love it….
Waiting for ‘Angels” to appear…if I am missing it please let me know…
Question for this morning…How was David after the concert?
I can’t remember who said this once but it is a male super star and is probably felt my many super star singers…”After a concert I can just make it back to the hotel and then I get into the shower and sit there for a long while” Being starved is another happening and follows right along with the downtime…
Morning everyone.
Kizzi..no..I’m off to Buffalo tomorrow morning. I’m glad I only did 2 shows…it’s emotionally exhausting.
I can only imagine what our David is feeling.
I love this group… they get it.
mecca…yes my mecca as well much to the dismay of my family members…I feel like I must be goofing off just too much…I have that affliction and will deal with it though!!
Lancaster “Zero Gravity” (link posted above on this thread -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Di4fp5w7yY&feature=channel ) The young lady who posted that video has multiple youTube vids of herself dancing to many of David’s CD songs.
Really fun to see David’s music inspire a teen fan…gotta feel the love here!

I explained to my husband this morning that being at the Utah concert will be like being at the final 7th game at the Stanley Cup playoffs, with the score tied, final overtime before a shoot out…thunderous and highpowered…so prepare for it…
SB: I haven’t had interaction with big singing stars but my children did youth theater and some of their friends have/had big roles in Broadway and TV; those friends tell them that live performances or a 30/60 minute TV series is about complete focus; all the energy is to the creative process and the moment to moment focus during their performance of giving everything to that moment to make it the best they can give.
One friend had the role of “Fantine” in “Les Mis” on Broadway in NYC; another had the role of Byron is “Arrested Development” and another is starring in a new series called “The Kings” on NBC starting March 15. When we do get to see them (and that is once a year when they return to do a benefit for our youth theater,) their life is their craft--it consumes them and it energizes them. They do little else.
I have always had a complete fascination for ppl who can devote their whole self to their passion. That is one of the things that I find so magnetic in tracking David’s career. His passion and devotion to his craft!
I have to get things done today. Zero Gravity will have to wait til later.
I tried uploading a video to my laptop last night, and it’s just not as good as on my desktop.
Now, I have my Zune loaded onto my desktop, and the quality is just amazing.
I guess I have to load my Zune software onto my laptop, unless someone knows a better codec or program to get the max out of the laptop downloads.
I bought Windows Vista for dummies, but I just can’t seem to get into the change. I’m an XP girl.
I fear I am the victim of profiling on my facebook! I logged on this morning and 3 David ads popped up on the far right side of the page. The game, BAB and new this morning, The Tour!
David is all over facebook!
Marlie -- sent you an updated excel; found more “loot” and they look/sound great!
Betsy… re Facebook..me too! there’s a promo for Lesley Roy on the David tour.. I won’t go into the other ads on my profile page as they indicate “old age”. they don’t know who they’re dealing with. back to the posts. I’m recognizing some of the fans in the photos posted w/ band members. This means I have been to enough concerts to begin recognizing fans. sick.(not in the bad sense)
I’m dating myself here, but whatever. Freo .. oddly enough, before David, my last concert was in 1983, and it was Air Supply. My mother got me 3rd row seating at the Colonie Coliseum for a graduation present. I was 17 years old.
I never sent anything to them, I’ve never gotten as “over the top” for any artist before David (it’s his magic, he just sucks you in).
Just thought I’d share since I connected to your Air Supply blog..we are all so connected here, have I said lately how much I love you people.

MARLIE -- the above are already included in the matrix I sent you.
Dawn,
I also saw an Air Supply concert in 1983. I bet that we saw the same tour, perhaps? They still tour and they are so sweet to their fans. Every few years or so, they even have a fan convention where they have a dinner, perform, and then take questions from the fans.
I didn’t mention in my story that a few years ago, I made contact with the ex-wife of one of the original band members. She told me that the story of the “two girls from [insert our state's name]” was passed down through the band. I was so touched.
I’m a bad fan freo, I do remember them coming through here not long ago, and I considered going, but as I rule, I don’t usually do things “for me”.
I live near fantastic venues, that host lots of great events, my kids go to a lot of things, I believe my oldest son bought his fiance Britney Spears tickets for next week at NJPAC.
I’m just not an event goer, but David’s Tour, well that’s just another thing all together.
Would it be sacrilegious to think David could take “Chances”..and add new life to it ? (One of my all time favorite songs)
SB -- no vids from Lancaster, except for the ZG number. AMY of Snarkies said last night that her video files are massive (great quality) so it may take a while for her to upload.
frmozc -- how did I miss “nurse” in the lsit of qualifications LOL?! And of course you can always email me in Tagalog.
JR4DA: Hi! I think “Zero Gravity” is the beginning of the tipping point -- co-wrote song, rock vibe, dance music, song he can sing & dance to on stage. Have read some fans think it would do better in Europe but I think it will do extremely well here. I think it is as catchy as “Bleeding Love.”
I am always wishing time away…LOL…just need to remember to enjoy the moment too!

Regarding your laptop performance…have you checked for updates to your video card ? Things change so fast that our systems are sometimes not able to handle content at its best. In the Start/run box type dxdiag and then go to display tab to see what card you have installed. Then see if their site has a current update. Just a thought.

Dear YouTube,
Were you lonely last night? There are not many Lancaster videos today. How sad that security is getting tighter on the shows.
Abrra
Oh, Dawn, “Chances” by David would be incredible!! Let me think: what are some others? All Out of Life, The One That You Love, My Best Friend, Goodbye…..I would love to hear David’s voice on Russell’s songs because Russell also has a rich tenor voice and a good range, although Russell doesn’t have the formal voice training that David does.
I’m going to listen to “Chances” right now and imagine David singing it!
sandybeaches 825 I totally get that analogy! Maybe it is the Canuck in us.
Good morning!
Thanks Jackryan for the spreadsheet (you have no idea what a spreadsheet maven I am, too -- I love it!) I’ve been “critiquing the videos” before posting them to the Tour pages. I’m trying not to have 5 videos when only 2 have decent sound or are fulls. I hope that’s okay with everyone. And, of course, any of the admins can add videos or links, too. Happy did a wonderful job of putting the concert-day posts on those pages so we can keep them together with the vids and such.
Okay, off to hunt for some new videos (please, God, some videos of Lancaster!)
I had to revisit the analogy that awestruck referenced and that had me laughing. SB -- very nicely put. Am sure your husband totally got the picture!
Late last night I was chatting with my daughter (Adam’s mom) online. We made a deal. She would listen to David’s Angels a capella and I would listen to the song of her choice. (bad deal on my end, let me tell you. Horrible metal-her boyfriend’s song)
She came back with “amazing voice” and “he’s kind of a little guy, but big at the same time”
Then this: (I thought of you SF)
“Why don’t you start calling him “The Voice”?
I said “people do”
awestruck…surely it is the canuck in us…I was once quite involved in the NHL and the playoffs because we knew a player in Edmonton and he would invite us to be there for the playoffs during the Gretzky days…their games were intense…so much so that I didn’t dare look up during some of the most intense moments…and their was thunder…
I expect that David’s last concert before crossing the ocean into a world so new to him, will be thunderous…and their will be tears…
jackryan4da…in regards to my comments at 825…When I told that to him he sat there quite wide eyed actually…never spoke a sound so I realize I can either try to explain a little more about this amazing aura of David’s or just let him in for a huge surprise…So, if anyone knew me at all they would guess that I am going to let him see everyting that night…surprise!!

Hi David Archuleta Fan Scene!
This is Hanne from Denmark wanting to share some great news with you all! The last couple of days have been very exciting for me here in Denmark, where I often feel a little too far away from all the fun stuff going on concerning David. But yesterday it all started! First I got my Build-a-Bear Archu-Cat kindly sent to me by my best Archie-friend Sandra DB from Florida! You have met my Archu-Cat before! And here at home my other cat MIV was at first very scared of her -- but by the end of the day it was all about LOVE, HUGS, and PEACE!
Today it got even more exciting here! After trying desperately to get through Gigsandtours for almost half an hour, I finally succeeded in buying tickets for David and McFlys concert in UK! I still do not quite believe it -- but Im going to see and hear David in Oxford on May 6th -- so right now Im soooooo happy! I actually made a deal with Sandra that when David comes to Florida, we will go to his
concert together -- and I still intend to keep that deal!
So by now I couldnt imagine my day getting any better -- but it did! And the next is what I want to share with you all!!!
David just had his premiere on Danish television!
David Archuleta isnt well known in Denmark, you cant buy his album here -- and its just recently added to iTunes! So today watching Boogie -- a Danish music program -- I almost fell off my sofa because suddenly they showed Davids video ALTNOY!!!
Boogie shows all kinds news from the worlds music industry and it has its own video hit list -- The Boogie List -- which is a top 10 list made by who ever votes! and to the list there are 10 bubbles that are new videos you can vote for! Its a program that all young people here watchand some goldies
Here should be a picture of the screen print from Boogies home page:
This is what Boogies home page says:
The Boggie redaction chooses every week a video that we think is the most interesting of the week. It could be a video from one of the great Danish or foreign stars, but it could also be from an unknown artist. The As of this week is a video that we think will turn out to be a huge hit!
The As of this week:
David Archuleta -- A Little Too Not Over you
He became number two in America Idol last year, but was clearly the greatest star. By now his first video has finally landed here in Denmark. His name is David Archuleta and he has lots of X factor. And
not to mention a lot of girl fans in the USA where his debut album already has almost 1 million copies.
This is a pop smasher of the very big ones and Boogie thinks David Archuleta deserves to be much bigger than American Idol. Thats why he is the As of the week.
This is the greatest news ever -- at least for us fans that live here because promoting David is very hard especially if you never see or hear him!!! Now I hope he soon will be on the bubble list so we can vote for him to get on the Boogie hit list so he can get some exposure!!! And from there people will start requesting his songs on the radio -- so this is big for us!!!!! We really need David Archuleta here and all that he stands for!! And he will get some more international exposure!
Love, hugs and peace!
Hanne Ankersen
Thanks Hanne!

Well the weather forecast just made my road trip more interesting. Marlie..where are you driving from. We’re getting 6-10 inches of snow tonight. Possibly more 8(
I have AWD..but still …this will make my trip to buffalo tomorrow quite interesting.
I’m only driving from near Corning -- about 2 hours and all expressway. I checked weather.com and they aren’t showing that snow for us. I’ll email you.
Only snow showers here -- leave today! We aren’t going to get that heavy snow. It is going to be sunny on Tuesday and bitter cold.
I’ll look for the email, can’t leave tonight, not even packed. Yes..it’s going to be bitter cold, but I have a plan. Sorry for the spamming folks..taking it offline now.
Now I’m worried about David going from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts to Buffalo over the next 3 days.

JR4DA -- that TMH video you linked above has all the intro music for David’s first appearance on stage; I’ve been waiting for a video that has it clearly and this one does for the most part….it is another GEM on this tour….it makes me connect to my sense of the organic creative soup of life, the universe’s vibe and, then, the lone guitar is like an array of soft lightening bolts lighting up the organic universal soup, and then…David. I think it ends with a similar feel but I can’t hear it as clearly. BRILLIANT!!
Yup, yup, and yup KIZZI. We have to give to David’s band, particularly MikeK I suppose for this brilliant arrangement. One of the great things with concerts/live acts — you can execute what you had been limited to during the recording session
Oh BTW, remember that KRZ game that wasn;t included in the previous videos, but was heard in the FOD recording? Well, the station finally released it and is up in youtube now (thanks to DUSTIN09!)

mazel tov!
JR -- I heard it but it is too cute with the video. Cinnamon has a new reputation-LOL. I can kinda see the “celeb bikini” and mazel tov (good fortune) oblique connection if I stretch my imagination.
Also, I remember rascal admonition that David should take his time to record--the rush to get a CD out to strike while David is fresh off AI for sales vs. time to craft the best version is a devil & the deep blue sea situation.
I can only pass by my pc right now and have to go out…please while I am out someone find all of Angels…thanks…
He is probably thinking of Nanny Fine for the celeb bikini! LOL. I tell you KIZZI, I was dying of laughter 1st time I heard that.
BTW, I also quite agree: ZG is a tipping point. It’s gonna be fun to watch how the ripples will change, in waves!
I showed my daughter the Sayreville’s ZG and 2 things she exclaimed: (1) woah! and (2) he better perform that in AI when he returns to show those morons what they missed.
And she is not even a fan of DA!
FIRST, djxox (aka djbell13) — I don’t know whether to KISS our or have you ARRESTED! O..M..G. Will we ever be able to thank you ENOUGH for your Sayreville VIDS! WHOA!
And Marlie, THANKS SO MUCH for keeping up the Tour tab!
Freo, I have been saying since Idol that David is doing a man’s job — and more brilliantly than most grown men. I LOVE your story. And yes, he is workin’ his lil bootie off. (As he would say)
Ok, so I just watched the Lancaster partial Barriers from Dustinn09. Oh lord HEP me. (And how cruel that it is cut short). KILLA video here. David was on freaking fire last night. I only hope Dustinn09 has a full set of vids he’ll be posting. GAH! *THUDDDDDDDDDD!*

I feel as if David has been making love to all of his fans for the past few days. In his own very appropriate way…through his music. He certainly is channeling something. And this is what he allows himself to do.
I came to this conclusion after whatching DLG for 8 million times. Please forgive me if I am not in a sane frame of mind. Blame him!

JR -- Yes, the ZG from Sayreville is impacting my 20 somethngs too….they had friends over yesterday evening to swim and grill (15 in all) and I had my 21 yo (who is home til leaves for grad school in July) connect our computer to our Big screen TV and home theater sound system in the family room -- I can play youTube vids at will on the big screen…anyway I had them watch ZG and they actually stopped talking and listened and swayed a little to the music…then throughout the evening I kept the doors open to the deck (where the grill is)and watched other Sayreville videos as I could while grilling.
At the end of the evening they had heard a few videos and even stopped and looked for a while if they came in the house.
My son told them that I was a “Cyber Sentinel” for David Archuleta…LOL…that is probably a good description as any.
JR -- I really got into your Truman Show analogy with tracking David’s career…has got to feel like that to him somewhat and on many levels it is a really fitting analogy.
Thanks JR. SOT was perfection.
Thank-you JR4DA. I am so in awe of those that can bring us these videos and pictures. The love for David and his talents definately shows here at justDavid. Before I go off to do some way behind homework, I just wanted to send my gratitude for giving me a great weekend filled with David and his new band. (aren’t they great?). Seeing him happy has warmed my soul. It’s been quite the ride! THANKS!
very nice post freofan. it’s unbelievable how much of david’s story has actually unfolded right before us via youtube. i too am very excited about the new experiences that await him.

aaahhhh, where is the complete ANGELS video?????
Been reading other sites and there have been reports of very rude fans, namely parents of kids who want their kid to get a meet or a view of David. A few guys are reporting that older women are telling them to move from the front row, assuming that the guys aren’t really there to see David. How obnoxious! If I encounter a rude fan like that, I will let them have it. Although it is doubtful on my end because I don’t plan to be in the mosh pit next Saturday.
ebonyangel, Aw, thanks! I am with you! I will probably be sitting closer to Jeff than to David! haha!

Just watched for the first time the KRZ game JR4da posted. Oh my aching sides! What is your unhealthiest habit? “Cinnamon”. What celebrity do you think would look hottest in a bikini? “Mazel tov”. Never mind that the words had nothing whatever to do with the question, they were the words in his head, so… whatever. They work for him. hahah! What a psychologists nightmare he would be! I love him so much!
Add a few screencaps to Sayerville.. mostly the grins he was flinging out there all night.

And I tried..I really tried to get one for DLG..but I had to keep taking showers.

Hey all -
I read this comment on another board and wanted to see what you all think. I agree with it. The “cinnamon” radio interview, though we may think cute and endearing, would leave a different impression with casual listeners. The fact that none of these stations where David has done in-studio interviews and meet-and-greet promos tell me there is likely an image problem that needs to be addressed…here is the comment:
When I saw him on Thursday I was thinking that it was great that the Jive peeps were there but also wished that some of these asses DJ’s saw him perform. I think that David would also benefit from having a professional publicist who could guide him thru public appearances. He is adorable in those radio interviews but often comes across as a young kid and at least the DJ’s in my area say he is only good for Disney. He is too nice and too clean and not controversial enough. Radio has now become TMZ-like to attract more listeners from some imaginary target demos. Playing stuff by a Mormon kid who doesn’t even drink coffee is not cool enough for their narrowly defined format. Too bad that success is still measured by radio play. Who listens to radio anymore?!
Angelica: You know, here’s the thing about those answers -- David literally said the first thing that popped into his head. Most people filter that and in split seconds, say something that has at least a tiny relationship to the subject. David is so open and transparent that he did say the first thing that he thought of. Where those associations came from, who knows.
I’m glad we’re bringing up that radio thing…
I felt..and I could be way wrong..that he was uncomfortable… and he didn’t like “their game”.
I think he’s aware that people are trying to get him to say something outside of his comfort zone, and that bothered me.
I wanted to smack them both..especially the woman… she “overexplained” the game.. like he didn’t “get it”…he DID get it..and I really felt like he wasn’t over the moon about playing it.
At times I don’t think they were laughing with him, but laughing at him.
Maybe that’s just the mom in me..but I really wanted to smack them both.. and tell them…lay off…he squirmed to much to make me believe he was comfortable with those lines of questions.
Freo -- Although I got a preview of your story, it’s so great to see it posted. I love it!:)
His life is not as glamorous as people tend to think. He works extremely hard and suffers alot of inconveniences to pursue his passion, and we’re all the lucky recipients of his labor.
dawn65 -- I agree. I think that David is quite possibly one of the most patient people I have ever seen. Although he has to be extremely tired from his hectic schedule he tolerates these ridiculous impromptu antics from DJ’s that put him on the spot. I actually think it’s kind of funny that even in his calm confusion, he exudes total class in these situations. I think it totally throws the DJ’s off their game and leaves them stumbling for words in their idiocracy.
dawn -- I agree with you, I feel at a certain point in A LOT of these radio interviews, it turns to the DJ’s making fun of him.
My last comment didn’t really make sense -- I’m sorry. What I meant to say is that I think there is an image problem based on these radio station appearances and the results we’ve been seeing. Proof of this is the fact that none (or very few) of the stations where David has done in-studio interviews and meet and greets are playing his music. I do think he would benefit from the guidance of a professional publicist. Not only can they help him project the image he wants, but help him learn how to smoothly avoid answering questions or playing games that make him uncomfortable.
It is often reported that David “behind the scenes” comes across very differently than he often does in interviews -- that he is much more serious, focused, driven. I think it would benefit him if the public saw this side more in his interviews too.
If the interviewers had half a brain they would ask him some serious questions. Who comes up with these ridiculous games? Here’s a game for David. Say a word and have him sing a line of a song that comes to his mind (no, I know, that’s still the dancing bear thing, but at least it would capitalize on something he’s so awesome at -- knowing music!)
Boy, those Lancaster concert-goers are pretty stingy with the videos!
I’ve said it before, I’m not sure why he does these radio promos since the tour is basically sold out and the album sells well. Radio industry is certainly in trouble and becoming a dinosaur, just like nightly tv news and newspapers. The only good that comes of it for me is more chances to see videos or listen to him talk. But that’s selfish. I’m sure there are some stations and dj’s that he likes, but he has to put up with a lot of people hardly worth speaking to.
marlie -- I agree. That’s just the thing, I would imagine a good publicist would work with David to put together a list of games that he would be good at (like the one you suggested). Then she could present the list to the station, and sell it in to them in a way that makes them think it was their idea in the first place. Of course they don’t want to feel like they were dictated the content of their own show. A good publicist would know how to work the radio people and negotiate the content of his appearances to get him the right kind of exposure.
river -- he’s making these appearances because Radio does still have major power to sell singles and records. Look at Crush -- it is inching towards double platinum, this is thanks in large part to Radio play. No radio play for ALTNOY, and the single sales are low and album sales have slowed.
It annoys me to no end that somehow Cook has more “cred” and is played more on Radio, simply because of his personality/image. IMO, his singles have been nothing to write home about!!
sigh… yes LitteM… I’m afraid I know how radio works. My family was in that business for years, when it was good (they sold all their stations when it was a great time to get out.) My sister, a recent exec with a big group has left the industry. I realize all it can do for him and I still listen to pop stations every day in my office. So I’ll hope his patience and kindness holds out (of course it will) and he’ll make the best of each situation.
sorry.. didn’t mean to mispell your name (:
To be honest, I think Jive is scrambling now, (i.e. suddenly footing the bill to send the band with David to the UK and Asia)…adding another show..with a MUCH larger venue at the end of the tour..that literally sold out 12000 seats in a matter of minutes.
They signed David …without a clue…without the slightest inclination how HUGE he really was going to go.
NOW..they are left scrambling.. they’ve already committed him to stuff WAY beneath him. And Jive only is promised 2 more CDs out of him.
This is when Jeff needs to step away from Dad mode, and really set his sights on David’s contract…his label, his management, EVERYTHING.
So I’m cutting Jive some slack on their less than stellar acknowledgment, but on the other hand.. not sorry they’re feeling the pain…knowing NOW..what they didn’t know THEN.
Dawn65: I hope you are right. I hope their chins were on the floor in awe when they heard him in concert, saw the energy he exudes and elicits from the crowd, saw the love fest. I hope the were shocked by his singing of “One”, how he transitioned into “Love Song” like he’d been at that keyboard for decades, how he danced and moved and related to the band and made the crowds go crazy. I hope they had tears in their eyes when he sang Don’t Let Go and To Be With You, and hung their heads in shame when Zero Gravity was the pick of the night (of the Tour!). I hope they go back and start all over with what they want to do FOR David.
I agree that David looked a little uncomfortable at times and probably wonders why he has to play these silly games with these DJs. I wish they would ask him about his music, but they seem to be more about being funny. I’ve heard them do it with other celebrities so I don’t think he’s being singled out. It’s radio, they play games. These people aren’t ace reporters, they’re disc jockeys. They peddle tunes and sell advertising.
Still you gotta admit, he is funny. He has, as Cook said, a dry wit: he is humorous in a subtle way. He doesn’t try to be funny, he just is. I find that refreshing and I think some of these DJs do too.
right on Dawn.. name me an industry that is not scrambling right now. music sales have gotten so complex that my head spins (bad pun) trying to keep up.
I think I mentioned on another thread that I sent an email to Jason at the Wild in the Morning station in Florida with a link to David doing I’m Yours in concert. I wanted them to see that the game they played was turned into something more. They weren’t mean to him, but I bet they never thought by his reaction that he’d turn that around and make it part of a concert medley.
dawn, and marlie, I LOVE what you’re saying, and seriously I just can’t bring myself to worry about David’s image. At all. Nope. Uh-uhn. NO. He’s just too frackin’ good. HOT. SMOKIN’. I mean, hell, these concert performances are tmth!
oh, and marlie, I think the reason there aren’t that many lancaster vids is that the vid police were out in full force. The guy who took the vid I posted earlier (the Barriers one) said that was the only one he could get because of the vid police. (MAN, I wish we coulda had a full set from HIM! That vid may kill me.)
Hi Everyone!,
With regard to the radio show, Dawn, Marlie, Angelica -- totally agreeing with your points.
When I first listened to the interview -- I was in stitches. On watching the vid -- I can now see just how uncomfortable David was with that game. In looking at his expression when the DJ announced the game, the look David had on his face was the same exact one when on AI, Ryan asked him to choose sides and he sat in the middle instead.
Also, for the tattoo -- question, David replied by singing the song. The DJ said -- Oh! A little song and dance number, to which David started to reply -- No, that’s the song by Jordan but the DJ rudely cut him off. After every sequence of weird question and response that bombed, you could see him shaking his head and his lips muttering -- I don’t get it! At that point I could see him getting subtly frustrated with a myriad of expressions crossing his face.
David is brilliant at interpreting every little nuance in a song, but I believe it is that same trait that gets him in trouble. He takes almost every word literally, and if it has immuendo attached -- as is the norm with these DJ’s -- David gets flustered. Even though I think his Mazel Tov and Huh’s are secret ploys to get out of answering truly absurd questions. Really -- Which celebrity you picture in a bikini? As SF would say -- PUH-leeze!

Perhaps if Radio is cool to David, his team should consider more creative strategies for getting his music out there. Remember when Moby had that one huge album with “Porcelain” among other songs? The songs first got attention because he sold them to be used in TV advertising. He got a buzz going from his ads before he ever made it to radio (he’s another quirky genius…
) I’m thinking Jive could consider getting Zero Graviy exposure in a big movie and make it a single off its soundtrack, or have it be featured in an Apple commercial, etc…
By the way I love the Lancaster “Barriers” performance!

P.s. Justdavid is really my breakfast, it is just 8:35 am here in Sydney. Just getting ready for school and work.
The radio interviews don’t bother me because David is fresh and real and different. After watching lemmings for so long, he is a ray of sunshine. “Wave your freak flag” as they say.
I love that he is so literal. That mixed with the honest, humble and open nature that he has creates this person that is so incredibly unique and intriguing. I love the word “singular’ when describing David, because he is, in so many ways. He confuses us, let alone, casual or non-fans. Yet, he always handles everything with such class and dignity.
I also think he sometimes uses the “spacey” thing to his advantage, avoiding things he has no desire to talk about. I am sure he is acutely aware of what some might be trying to do. But I agree with Angelica, they are just doing whatever they can to amuse their listeners, regardless; and I don’t think it is his “style” to go in and dictate what will be done during interviews. I wish radio was irrelevant, but right now, it isn’t. They must think it is important or he wouldn’t be doing it. The point someone made about these being prior commitments is a very good one.
Some will never get him, be it ignorance or choice. But, within a few short years it will be very different. He will be older and more experienced, and unfortunately, probably a little more closed.
But his talent cannot and will not be denied. Beebee is dead on…just watch these smokin videos. And they are the first 3 concerts of his career for crying out loud! Yep, HE KILLS ME!
(apologies for this being so long) and thanks to everyone here for all the hard work in bringing us all the pics and vids!
Part two of my comment
Everyone of us has a significant role to play in this DA journey. David provides the ammunition and what he is doing is the hardest part then rest follow suit.
Fans like us, we enjoy the journey ( If you ask me, I won’t exchange this for anything else) and share to other fans and try to convert new fans……… That is why I thank you all for ALL OF THESE… Cannot list down all the things you have done to me to make me sane and wait patiently for the next morning news/pics/video/comment.. anything related to THE VOICE…..
Everyday in the Archuland, there is something to lookup to, always something special is happening or about to happen.

oh, forgot, totally love what dawn406 and marlie410!
I have decided if I ever watch that radio “game” video again, the sound will be off. I cringed at the disrespect. While I have a head of steam going, what the heck is up with throwing a potato at David at the start of his set? From a fan who just LOVES him so much. Twisted ! I wonder what the thrill was in that.
Just a tad irritated today with some of the insensitivity and callous treatment aimed at David.

Abrra
joymus, just read your post, and I just wrote what you did (only you were so much more just to the point.) Sorry, if I had read yours first I wouldn’t have wasted everyone’s time with mine.
Hi everyone! I am driving to Northampton tomorrow with my mom -- we’re leaving at noon in a nice big 4 wheel drive truck.
I just spoke with the venue and they said they would make a decision tomorrow if the show gets canceled (we are getting a nor’Easter -- maybe up to 14″).
I will be wearing a pink Boston Red Sox hat (cannot deal with hair in the snow) and (unfortunately) my mom will be in a wheelchair. But we will be there! This is rather funny -- I asked if they had an elevator to get my mom upstairs and she said no, but they have lots of security guys who can (haha) carry her up the stairs. The fiesty, stubborn Italian may emerge and she’ll insist on trying to walk up herself. Anyway -- if anyone sees us, please come say hi! I most likely will not leave her alone once we get in there.
♥
Josie -- always enjoy your posts. Thank goodness for 4wheel drive! Your Mom sounds like a gem. Enjoy and stay safe. Looking forward to you and your mom’s thoughts after the concert.
{{{{{{{Josie}}}}}}}} and {{{{{{{Noni}}}}}} — you wild and crazy girls have a blast. AND BE CAREFUL. (I know you will.) I am so very excited for you and everybody going. I PRAY it isn’t cancelled. (Also pray the nor’easter holds off. :::fingers crossed:::)
And I meant to add that Mr. Josie knew better than to even try to talk me out of it. He is a wise man.
emmiegirl -- I will do my best to retain everything -- hearing David sing live is always a bit … disconcerting…
{{beebee}} my beebee! Hugs to you all too.
I’d like to say that you gals have rocked with this place. Great job!
Josie…be careful..we need to keep David..and his band, his dad, especially the busdriver in our prayers… it’s a long drive in a nor’easter from PA to MASS everyone.
good morning all~ !!
beebee~ did I get a kiss from you and now I am in jail??….
I tell you though I just might end up there if one of those video police tried to take my camera and erase my vids….Uhh OH NO ! I would have none of that..I would take him down for sure..LOL..would not be pretty!! but I would most def be going home with my videos and pix..haha..
Dangit .. why do we need to get this storm NOW.
I’m still going, I told my family today…I’ll get there if I have to get a dogsled.
vee60~ thanks for the megauploads of my videos..saves me from converting for my iPod..
dawn are you going to Northampton??
believe me dj-I have been! I am actually more worried about them with a bus! While I have you right here, YOU ARE SIMPLY AMAZING. I have been watching, rewatching and re-rewatching all your videos. Thank you from the bottom of my heart (and feet while we’re at it).
Really.
Abrra “what the heck is up with throwing a potato at David at the start of his set?”
Yeah I don’t get that either. In our line at Sayerville, there were a ton of girls scheming on how they were going to get their stuff on stage.
They were trying to hand him stuff while he was performing, and the one girl eventually DID end up throwing the girlscout cookies on stage.
Don’t throw things on stage…I don’t get the potato thing..and from what I read… David didn’t either.
He loves to perform… let him…don’t invade on his space..he wants to give himself to us (some more than others… teehee) .. and isn’t that thanks enough ? Let him do what he came to do…and apparently…that’s to rock our world… (okay..end of tongue in cheek remarks…I am just addicted to these videos…he’s killing me)
dj..no I’m leaving early in the morning for the Buffalo show… tiny little venue.. I think the smallest he has. It’s about a 7 hour drive. The storm starts tonight around 7ish ? going through the night, through tomorrow, but I think once I get north of the NY border, I should be okay.
Dawn~ 7 hrs!! wow..you have a safe trip..be careful.!! I have pix what is Marlie7′s email?? or do you want them?? I sent some to Happy..have more..I learned how to screencap..Yay!
Josie~river and I are going to Northampton..we will look for you and Mom..have a safe trip!..
dawn -- so you are out of ICU and going again? Mosh-pitting? Your last experience is going to be a tough one to beat. I am still giggling about your story.
Be careful and stay warm!
Josie~thanks~glad you are enjoying the videos~ speaking of “feet” I actually took a picture of HIS..as he was boppin’ and hanging on that mic stand!..I am nuts I know..
Sigh. Four shows into his tour, and David looks TIRED! That latest “Barriers” video from Lancaster, in which he’s got his eyes wide open, it looks like he’s really forcing himself to keep going.
So, I’m going to say this. Who the hell is pacing him? Is someone stepping in to make sure he’s going to be fine? I’m really concerned?
Who’s the friggin’ overseer on the plantation who keeps driving our David to do more and more and more? Can I pretend to be Harriet Tubman and whisk him away to freedom? (Ha ha! New fantasy on my part, I guess).
First, he does a 20+ solo tour, on the heels of endless radio promos and little gigs. Then, they add an Asian tour. THEN, they add a UK tour? Can’t he get a break?
Meanwhile, I’ve got to scramble around on various radio stations just to try and hear ALTNOY. I’ve yet to see the music video on VH-1 or MTV. It seems Jive was able to sell Crush without working him to exhaustion. What is all this?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad for all of you who get a chance to see David live, but seeing the little guy looking close to burnout, I want to protest for his freedom. David is a really nice guy, and I worry that he won’t ever say “no.” Please note that I’m not suggesting I think he’s weak, only that when you’re such a nice, sensitive, and selfless person, you just don’t want to say no. He needs a “no” person in his life who can step in and watch his back for him.
Sigh. I don’t know. These latest videos, he looks like he’s having the time of his life, but he also looks like he needs to rest. I worry that, in such a state, he’ll be vulnerable to all kinds of outside negative forces (yes, this is how young stars end up on drugs -- just to keep the energy level up -- or engaging in promiscuous sex -- using groupie girls for “comfort”). But I also worry that, due to his morals, he won’t even resort to this behavior and, therefore, won’t have any real “release” from this hectic, crazy, superhuman schedule.
I’m going to keep praying for David. Just because he’s 18 doesn’t mean he’s some “energizer bunny” that keeps going and going, and David being “just David,” he’s going to keep pushing himself and doing everything he can to bring his all to each and every show.
Why do we want to burn out our youth so quickly? He’s just getting started. Sheesh! Jive, is this how you invest in or take care of your new artists?
If you think my fears are unfounded, then just remember I’m prone to handwringing and worrying.
But thank you for at least hearing me out on this.
marlie7
I just sent you 12 screen caps of David from the Sayreville video.(I think) Not really sure. I graduated from the David Archuleta crash course in computer literacy. All I know about computers is what I’ve found out while desperately seeking David. Hope you get them. They are doozees.
DJ -- call me.. I’m concerned about the weather of course..and the plan. I did a mapquest.. 2 hrs from me right off the highway. Maybe the schools will be closed and I won’t have to lie (sorry David) about why I’m not there. I would bet the crew is worried about getting the bus and trailer of equipment to the venue tomorrow too. A shame they have a show tonite. I’m already excited for those vids. After all the excitement in ZG last nite I’m dying to see it continue. Can full body break out be coming tonite??
oh, BTW, I sent them in 12 seperate email attachments. Bwahahahahahah!!!!
HG -- I hear what you are saying. Do you know that David doesn’t even drink caffeine? I can barely function without my morning coffee, and my schedule isn’t nearly as crazy as his -- how does he do it???!?!!
emmiegirl… out for a minute, I don’t know if Williamsville will meet the expectation… David set the bar really high there.. yeesh… still can’t get over that one.. but I’m sure he’ll far from disappoint. Seriously ? He could stand there for 90 minutes and not say a word..I’d be just as happy .. LOL. Okay..enough of that silliness.
HG…you’ve echoed a lot of concerns many of us have.
During AI ..David said he stayed grounded and got through the chaos reading the book of Mormon each night. I’m sure he’s still reading and praying. His God won’t fail him…and David knows that.
He does look tired..and worn…and I do worry for him… he’s only 4 shows in…
We will have to double on on prayers…and hope they cancel some of his meet and greets. He has very FEW down day for the next 7 weeks.
That IS a lot to ask of him. I wondered if that wasn’t part of the little break down he had last night in Lancaster. When I get exhausted, my emotions are more vulnerable, I’m thinking it may be that way for everyone.
Stay grounded David.. we’re behind you all the way.
HG- I agree with you -- I’m sure he’s tired. Plus he’s got a cold. BUT and this is the operative word, he is loving this. Of that I have no doubt. I, too, am worrying about him -- but that’s the mom in me. He will need to learn to pace himself -- he must learn to say no at times. It’s so hard for him because he loves us so. We are food for his soul as much as he is ours.
I wish there was something we could do to change our worrying, but we can’t. We can only keep praying. Which I do on a daily basis along with prayers for my two girls, my hubby and my mom.
Everyone driving to the show tomorrow, please be very careful -- especially of the “other guy”…leave early and go slow and be safe.
♥
I don’t think radio is singling David out for mistreatment, that is just how radio is. Going for the easy jokes. I don’t think that they do it because they think David was born yesterday, or that he just fell off the turnip truck.
If you think this stuff if bad you guys should check out a DJ called Wendy Williams who I believes has a syndicated show, but I could listen to her from WBLS fm in NY. I say I could, but I don’t because I just don’t like shock jocks, or people who get off on sensationalism. Her forte is outing people, or exposing things in their personal life such as drug abuse, or physical abuse, who is sleeping with whom, or cheating, etc. Except that mostly is innuendo, scurrilous innuendo. She’s not worth the time of day, but somehow she’s popular.
The stuff that they do with David is child’s play, and believe me he handles them deftly! David has to do these things. He’s on tour, he’s still plugging ALTNOY and Crush. He’s doing his job. We can’t get upset that Jive allows it, or even that Jeff allows it. I just thought that it was a bit silly, but funny. Truthfully most people aren’t going to give this a second thought, except for us who worry about every slight, perceived or otherwise.
Funny thing is, I believe David understood the game completely. He just thought it was stupid, he didn’t get the point, and therefore it was pointless to him. I think he is extremely polite, but that he doesn’t suffer fools gladly. This was his way of still being polite David, but not playing their game. He’s a wily young man, and we need to not worry about him being so naive. He’s unflappable, and totally on his game.
As for the fans, and the potato incident. I am not saying that this is the case with them, but fans in general need to know that this isn’t about them. It’s not about who has the inside view. Who has the contacts, etc. This journey is about David and his mission, to uplift through music. To touch as many people as he can. Drawing attention to yourself instead of letting David do his job is just a distraction that David doesn’t need.
river~ I will call you soon.waiting for weather on news at 6..We need to go early..get there early….get on line..find food….look for Josie/Mom..keep warm..bring shovel….and camera, I hope they do not cancel..but want all to be safe..would they reschedule??
They just upped our forecast for 8-12 inches (
Josie, I know he loves doing what he’s doing. That’s why I’m worrying about him. People burn out, not because they’re doing stuff they hate, but because they’re doing stuff they LOVE!
It’s so easy to keep saying yes and to add more to your plate because you love it.
That’s when I get concerned. There’s no doubt in my mind that David, who loves to sing and loves to make heart connections, is just enjoying himself and loving his audiences.
But, that’s how you burn out. Because you think you can keep doing more and more of what you love.
Too much of a good thing is not a good thing.
HG -- He does look tired; seemed that way to me although he was smiling and high energy on Tuesday evening and gave a great show. TOfan and refnaf saw him Friday at Steamtown Mall and they said he seemed very congested so I am wondering if he just isn’t plainly sick and recovering from a cold (7-10 days right.) But I know what you mean.
My comfort is that he seems so balanced and disciplined and takes good care of his voice and health that I believe he is doing everything he can to take good care of himself…I was thinking about being sick and having this first solo tour and being confronted with the thought of having to cancel, what a torture that would be because it is also your BIG dream!
Josie -- Enjoy Northampton -- I pray for good weather and safe travels for you and your Mom.
Brooklyndawn -- I had the same reaction when I saw the video, that David was deflecting.
Angelica, don’t know where Marlie is, maybe packing…which I’m doing in bits and pieces. If you want to send me the pics I’ll post them for you.
nDDawn65@gmail.com
HG -- totally see your point, can’t altogether disagree. But I, personally, cannot go there or I will drive myself crazy. I am hoping that this first year is the most insane, trying to get a foothold and somewhat established, then things can slow down a bit, progress at a “reasonable” (if there is such a thing) pace. For his sake, I hope so. And hoping Jive affords him this. Jordan was talking about how the last 2 years had been relentless for her as winner, but that she was just thankful to be busy; however, I am not sure even she was going at David’s current pace. I imagine if they signed a contract, there is nothing they can do about it anyway.
brooklyndawn -- this “Funny thing is, I believe David understood the game completely. He just thought it was stupid, he didn’t get the point, and therefore it was pointless to him. in CAPS!!!!! Love it!
Abrra 452,
I didn’t want to be the one to bring it up about the potato throwing but that really irritated me too. I just don’t get it and it was reported that David didn’t either. How is that funny? The theatre has a history of people throwing vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, cabbages, etc.) on the stage of performers they wanted to show their contempt for. It was reserved for those who were felt to be particularly awful and devoid of talent. I don’t know if they or David were cognizant of this historical fact, but I still for the life of me don’t see the humor and neither did he. He could have been injured. I even read in the comments section some were laughing and saying a potato almost came close enough to damage his future children or something. It just was not funny and I hope this never happens again. If you want to throw something at him, throw roses, the way his band does to the crowd. Sheeesh.
Angelica and davidfanLIZ: Thank you for the screen caps. I’ll try to upload them tonight to the tour pages. Awesome!
DJ before anything else, thanks for the videos. If you have an excellent subject, the result would also be excellent video that is why I am now watching in a big monitor ZG courtesy of you MS DJ. Now by the way, is it me that of all the videos, WAITING FOR YESTERDAY song was not there. Please I do hope you just missed it. Please put it up if you have it.
Thanks
P.S. When I have the time, I will do SOT then You can then To be with you for those hopelessly romantic.
Be ready for the next concert Allentown, PA -- Crocodile Rock
David , please have a voice rest. I hope you rock them again tonight…. ( I know you would)
Dawn~ I just sent you some pix but not to that email posted above..should I resend??..I sent to the one you used for the Sayreville info..uh oh??..do we have 2 dawns??
I can’t link to or post the beautiful cool videos from vee60. Are those the ones uploaded to youtube by djxox? I can link to those. (Can you tell I’m confused?)
Did you guys see this?
The glory note: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uuPfXNyVeo
I was on Snarky this morning and puzzled about the potato thing. I saw the little baby video..was that some inside joke I don’t grasp? I sure can’t see throwing anything onto the stage because it’s distracting for David. He has enough to deal with. (mic falling, cords, etc). Now there is the snow issue to fret about. I just watched National news and of course they are describing a grim morning weather wise. Of all days, NOT NOW!!!
vee~no you did not miss it..I did not film it..at least I do not think I did..I may have partial?? I have to check..I wanted to try to get some still shots of the struttin’ shoulder~rollin’
Archuboppaholic but it was not easy .He never stood still!!..I had not learned to screencap yet and wanted some stills..
Wait…WHAT?! Somebody threw potatoes at our David? WTF? I must have missed reading about this!
Who did, what, when, where, how, and WHY??????
No ..that’s fine…I’ll grab them. Marlie I’m doing some behind the scenes work..you need a break.
Did you pack ?
going to grab the pictures now..will upload.
I also added two from Don’t Let Go <— warning attached
there were photos of the potato hitting David and then several sitting on the stage. I guess later the band told him it was a joke and he said he didn’t get it. no kidding. go to Snarky..it’s probably still there. I haven’t been on since morning. I like this neighborhood.
Ahh…the Glory note…goosebumps every time..without fail.. no matter how many times I hear it.
Gosh dang it I just love him
Thanks, River. I don’t get it either. And it’s a good thing I and my crew weren’t there, otherwise the potato-throwers would’ve gotten a beat down.
Apparently there is some song or video about “My sweet little potato” on Snarky’s. It was supposed to be “cute”, except no one knew about it -- and likely David still doesn’t know what the potatoes meant. What a weird way to try to get some point across. I must be too old to get it. LOL!
No email…in yahoo or gmail.. Marlie..want to forward ?
Emmiegirl -
I agree with your point that even though Jordan’s schedule was hectic, David’s is infinitely much more so. Say whay you want about Paula Abdul but I think she saw the writing on the wall for David’s ascent. In the past she would say to other contestants -- I can hear you on the radio or you are bound for stardom. In David’s case she said -- you are destined for super stardom. In as much as she preferred Cook, she somehow had a gut feeling that David would soar higher than everone -- and who knows maybe in the history of the show.
I read reports where Kara was a bit upset with Paula for comments regarding the number of judges -- it is slowing down the pace of the show. Apart from negative reviews on the format and talent pool -- this show might already be on its last legs. In the 8 years now of this show, I have watched every season with the exception being THIS one. After following David -- everyone else now seems mediocre to me.
What is amazing after all this time -- we were intrigued by his first hesitant steps as a performer on the show, his first steps performing live on tour, his firt solo tour ever, his upcomimg international tours -- when will the interest ever abate in this artist?
Dawn I just forwarded the pix to th above posted email..let me know..
Joymus, I totally agree with Paula’s comments that Kara disrupts the flow of the judges. After the first seven seasons, this was something that should not have been messed with. Or at the least, they should have just brought back the “guest judge” format which they had used during Season 3.
This is how you know David is phenomenal. He was just so damn good last year, including forcing contestants like Cook to step up their game, that we’re seeing the effect of his presence on the show. Not one of these Season 8 contestants can compare to the magic of last year. They don’t even compare to the magic of previous years.
Seasons 1-5, we’ve had mediocre performers but we’ve also had some really awesome contestants, like Kelly, Clay, Ruben, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry, Elliott Yamin, etc.
Season 6, “diva” performances, from Melinda Doolittle to Lakisha Jones to Jordin Sparks were taken to a new level.
Season 7, the Davids happened. And David in particular moved the performances from “stellar” to MAGICAL.
The problem with Season 8 is that the bar has been raised to a stupendously high, high level, and NOT one of these contestants can reach it. Not a one.
I knew this was going to happen from the moment Simon complained about Season 7 contestants’ “lack of personality” and then promised to “remedy” this problem for Season 8.
If they went for “personality,” they obviously decided to forsake talent.
Fools.
In all my years of loving music and the artists who make it, I never knew one that was so captivating from the moment I saw and heard him. It’s been like watching an exquisite flower bud and bloom and it’s only the beginning. That’s what is so exciting..it’s THIS good, THIS early. I sure would like some rational lister explain this obsession to me. Back to the ZG videos…
Hello everyone!
Was out all day and just caught up with all the comments. And the videos. David was great, not as animated/hyped up as he was in Sayreville. So do we know if David made it to Allentown? Safely? Healthy?
Got pictures… downloading then uploading
Wow…really great shots…stand by..should be up there very shortly now.
HG -- LOL! Terrific points -- I quite enjoyed when they had guest judges -- Fools indeed.
River -- he is indeed THIS good, THIS early.
Was intrigued enough to revisit vids of “ONE” as someone had mentioned Elliot Yamin. It was an AI finale performance with Mary J Blige. That then led me to the original with Blige and U2.
As what invariably unfolds when David gets hold of a cover? Yeah, you guessed it -- he blew the original to smithereens. I am CRAVING to hear it in its entirety. It is absolutely magical!
I would like to know who the genius was who booked David’s tour to begin in venues in the NE region in the WINTER?? Or would a couple of weeks have made a difference? At least we wouldn’t be worried about David’s health so much, only how exhausted he is.
Now we’re gonna worry about whether his bus makes it to MA, then back to NY.
Did anyone see Brooke White on AI the other night? I don’t watch AI so I haven’t heard yet if David has been invited to perform on AI yet? Anybody heard anything? David said he would love to guest on AI.
river992 … YES. YES. YES. Exactly. An exquisite flower… only the beginning… THIS good…THIS early… *le pant* *le pant* …lol. I am hopelessly attached to David’s journey. From the very first “what just happened” moment… I guess it’ll go on… til I die. (and maybe after!)
signed, sincerly, rational listener. (psh..)
joymus… I am… destroyed by his “One”. D.E.S.T.R.O.Y.E.D, I tell ya. What he DID in that performance… is what he was BORN to do. It makes me weak in the knees.
10 more awesome pictures in the Tour Reflections Sayerville.
the other two had some problems, I’m going to try again.
As for AI .. I think I’ve already mentioned it, I never watched it before or after season 7. AI was running late, and I believe ran into my Hells Kitchen or House..and David was just auditioning… never missed him after that.
I would actually rewatch his auditions on my DVR..then YouTube saved my life (and the life of my DVR) … LOL
SF, don’t even remind me of the weather here in the NE. As if we couldn’t wait for the spring or summer for this solo tour.
Joymus, I have a special weakness for Mary J. Blige’s One duet with U2, especially when she performed it the first time for the Hurricane Katrina relief. So I can’t completely agree that David outdoes this.
But, I do fondly imagine what David would sound like singing with the hip-hop soul diva in place of Elliot. Chills!
I’ve loved every year of idol, but this one. I started out liking Kara, but lately she just grates on my nerves. I know Paula is not the most articulate person, but she is dead on with the synergy lacking in 4 judges. It takes away from the contestants.
I am not one of those people who hate this season because of last season’s outcome. I’ve always understood what this show was. One quarter talent show, one quarter pageant, one quarter reality show, one quarter drama. Somehow it worked.
This year it’s heavy on the drama and reality show, and that is just the wrong formula.
I hope the show isn’t on it’s last legs, because even for all it’s flaws it does bring good solid talent to the public. Kelly, Ruben & Clay (best showdown ever, until David X 2), Fantasia, Carrie & Bo (will never, ever forget his acapella In a Dream, just stunning),even the much lambasted Taylor has his charms, listen to his duet of Woman Gotta Have It with Elliott Yamin, and you’ll know what I mean. Young Jordin, and the magnificent Melinda, were all gifts from the idol machine.
In this time of upheaval in the record industry, giant record stores closing, radio losing it’s grip on the public, record companies foundering, it would be sad to see this vehicle come to a screeching halt. I mean it bought David into our lives, it can’t be all bad
Call me Pollyanna.
I would so love to see a One duet with David and Mary J. I love Elliott, but he behaved as though he were a background singer and Mary pulled a Diana Ross on him.
SF, please do not worry about David touring the NE during the winter. He isn’t walking, he has a warm tour bus, and warm planes to carry him here and there. This is his job. Just as we have to work in all seasons David will too.
David is young, hale and hearty. He is fit and able to withstand the rigors of this mini-tour. It could be far longer, far more grueling. If Tina Turner and Cher can tour in their sixties, certainly David can as well.
We need some kind of mantra to stop us from being so worried about David. Something to help us relax when our maternal instincts kick in. And idea?
Those pictures…those pictures.
Every one is a jewel.
This weekend has been the biggest ODD-fest to date. Aren’t we supposed to get sick of something we immerse ourselves in 24/7? It just isn’t happening.
To everyone driving through the snowstorm: I will be praying for you and thinking of you. Stay safe and go slow.
Broklyndawn 5:53
As for the fans, and the potato incident. I am not saying that this is the case with them, but fans in general need to know that this isn’t about them. It’s not about who has the inside view. Who has the contacts, etc. This journey is about David and his mission, to uplift through music. To touch as many people as he can. Drawing attention to yourself instead of letting David do his job is just a distraction that David doesn’t need.
SO WELL PUT!! I think that fans want to get David’s attention or stand out in some manner- so much that they do something sort of extreme like this. Clearly thought was not given. What if other fans started throwing potatoes, thinking it is “cute” Someone could truly get hurt next time, not to mention the disrption of the performance and train of thougt! David is out there seriously singing his heart out and leaving it on the floor. I don’t think he expects something like that to happen. Put it in a note, give it to him at a meet and great, or mail it to his
fan mail address.
Hmmm.. in my search for pictures for Lancaster, since I’m having to create them from scratch, I came across additional videos of David on the radio interview we were talking about early.
NOBODY…can tell me at exactly 26 seconds into this video David isn’t absolutely annoyed with that idiot. He hesitates..even if it’s just a split second to turn on the smile, but watch it… and you tell me if I’m in left field..and I’ll concede.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7srXTwAhj8Y&feature=channel
HG -- Mary J.’s duet with Bono was brilliant. I remember the first time I saw the video. It drew me in from the first second.
sorry about the all he typos…. ( oh, ok I cannot function without spell check especially when I am peeved over the little joke)
I’ve watched that a couple times now.. it’s almost like David didn’t realize he had that in him. Nice come back.
Raelovinangels, you are right someone could get hurt. Didn’t one of our board members child get hurt the other night when the opening act’s drummer threw a drumstick into the crowd? We have to put thought into the things we do.
I mean carry a sign. Scream something silly, but don’t throw stuff! I think that the potato tossers of the other night have learned their lesson, but others may just decide to pick up on this and it become an ongoing problem. Hopefully fans behave so that the access that many have to David will not be restricted. He is so open and giving. I don’t want him to have to behave with caution with his fans.
Dawn65 -- yes, for just one second he was thinking, “What is up with these people?” But someone said something -- I couldn’t make it out -- and that is what brought on the smile.
Rickey is cellcasting..Or at least he’s trying to.
Lesley Roy is on now.
At first I thought the potato thing was cute, but on second thought it’s a bad idea to throw stuff on stage. What if someone hit him in the eye? What if he tripped and fell on some equipment or on the stage? Artists can’t see into the audience or what is coming at them because of the lights, so folks shouldn’t throw stuff on stage.
For people driving to Buffalo, most of Western NY is not getting the big snowstorm. We will have flurries (a daily event) and Tuesday looks like partly sunny but bitter cold -- windy and temps in the lower 20′s. So, go west, young women, go west!
Oh, a cellcast…I’ll be monitoring both “channels” -- here and Ricky’s.
Nope, cell died, no David on cell cast.
Yay, under the sea with David Archuleta
Oh gosh, I’m spamming. That’s what happens when my kids leave me alone with the computer.
I think the potato tossers were the Snarky’s girls. It was an inside joke. There was a note attached to one of the potatos.
Thanks for that dawn -- love it! David likes spunk; he too has spunk, polite spunk, but spunk!
(they said he wasn’t feeling well that day, but doesn’t he look gorgeous in that video)
Brooklyndawn, I’ve always liked that Idol brings to the public some real gems, and we’re lucky to have these young artists in our midst (of course, I’m talking to a David Archuleta fan community, so who am I trying to convince?).
But, if the show shoots itself in the foot by erroneously correcting a “problem” that wasn’t a problem to begin with (like focusing on “personality” over talent because of something as absurd as feeling they were losing ratings last year -- when it was easy to pinpoint why this was: 1) a major presidential campaign was going on; 2) after 7 seasons, the show is bound to lose its freshness; and 3) certain formats were downright silly -- like the Q&A and the overstuffing of results shows with the pimping of music artists who weren’t always tied to the show as “mentors”), then it deserves to be on its last leg. Especially when the show talked trash about the best thing that happened to them last year -- the Davids, who were thought to “lack personality,” even though the two of them brought in the most votes the show ever had in its time on. They always underestimate the appeal of their contestants and misunderstand the nature of that appeal. They’ve also assumed their TV viewers tuned in for guest stars and gimmicky shticks, when viewers tuned in specifically because they wanted to get a taste of newly discovered talent.
If the judges had even thought about this, and taken a real assessment of who their Idol alumni were, they would have stepped up the game BIG TIME and looked to find contestants who, if they didn’t at least measure up to previous contestants, could surpass them.
They’d rather look for Reality TV stars than the real deal in music. And if after 7 seasons, they still don’t get that it was the talent that drew viewers (really, if Kelly Clarkson didn’t prove herself to be a genuine talent, we wouldn’t even have 8 seasons of American Idol), then the show should pack it up.
DJ and I just talked about we will have to wait to see what tomorrow brings. so many factors… driving, waiting in line, cancellation by the venue, whether David’s entourage can make it in… and on and on. We’ll just keep the faith. We will be concerned about all who hope to get there. For any who are coming, we’ll have our bright pink scarves from Sayreville. Let’s hope we can pull this thing off.
Brooklyndawn, need I remind you that Tina and Cher, though they are in their sixties, have been doing this for decades? I’m quite sure they know all about pacing themselves, something young artists like David are just now trying to figure out.
I would like David to have the stamina to keep doing this when he gets to their age.
SF -- it was. They have been talking about potatoes for weeks. And they are bringing beets to an upcoming show. I hope they rethink that.
BDawn,
Loved your assessment of the duet of MJB and EY. He was Diana Ross’ed out of the picture -- LOL!
HG -- For me the original is what it is. I was not going by when it was performed, even though I did not see the Katrina performance. Its like David’s songs on the album. I could never pick a fav UNTIL he started performing them live. I had never quite heard this song -- ONE, but when he performs it, in comparison to the recording -- for me it is in a class by itself.
David has always had the best pronunciation of words right now as a singer and when he sings Did I disappoint you -- it is SO rich and melodious.
I now actually believe why the crowd gets into singing ALL his songs even the runs -- everything is crystal clear and so pretty to listen to -- it creeps under your skin and invades the part of the brain that produces pleasure. His musicality brings a smile to your face. How many artists out there has that going for them?
Rickey’s is not cellcasting David. It’s COOK! UGH! No wonder there were NO SCREAMS! hahhhahahhahahahaha!
It’s their inside joke, not his.
So okay this is really late from SB’s post this morning, but I can relate to the analogy thing. My husband wanted me to watch “The Natural” w/Robert Redford last night, but I wanted to watch David videos on the computer. He got a little upset about my obsession and I reminded him that what’s the difference in watching “The Natural” on tv and watching “THE Natural” on my computer. Touche`. Point. Touchdown. The problem is, that I was a little OTT with my reaction. I’ve had to be more mellow today.
Betsy..Right. And I don’t think David was amused. But at least it was’nt a bra or panties!
Nice post, Joymus. I realized today that although I have been listening to David’s album daily since it released, and Crush endlessly before that, now the songs seem fresh and new because I heard them live. There is no description that fully covers David in live performance… I’ve always been amazed by the pitch, enunciation, phrasing and variation in his singing, but then there is the interpretation of each song. Every single song sounds new to my ear. What an incredible gift that performance was in New Jersey. Now I understand those fans who want to be at every one.. me too.
I am trying soooo hard to lurk because I have gobs of work to do, but I had to say thanks to dawn for the video. I love to see spunky David. I love to see him coming into his power both on and off the stage.
Safe journeys to all who are traveling to shows. Look forward to hearing your stories!!
Back to work/lurkmode.
SB--is your husband going to SLC concert. Mine has consented to accompany me. He’ll feel better if he knows he’s not the only one in a crowd of FANS. We have tix with FOD block--wherever that will be.
Betsy..And if David keeps doing what he’s doing on his tour, don’t be surprised if pieces of lingerie is tossed at him at some point. What would David do when THAT happens?
“Rickey’s is not cellcasting David. It’s COOK! UGH! No wonder there were NO SCREAMS! hahhhahahhahahahaha!”
HG, I hear you about your assessment of idol. It really wasn’t broke, they shouldn’t have tinkered with it. Frankly they should let the talent dictate the changes the way they did last year in allowing instruments. They got spooked by a small erosion in ratings and went overboard in their tweaks. It has always been the talent that drove this show. Too bad tptb didn’t realize that.
As for Cher and Tina, surely you know the conditions they both endured makes David’s beginning look like a party right? At least David is surrounded by loving friends and family and not an overbearing spouse. David will learn how to pace himself. I truly believe that.
Betsy, you are right about the inside joke. It was one-sided otherwise he would have gotten it.
Panties on the stage -- Alex will probably pick them up and put them on his head!
SF -- I read somewhere that yes, indeed, there were black and red lacy underthings thrown onstage. I forget where. Maybe Richmond? Or Lancaster?
Anyway, he can’t escape that. He can’t perform like he did on DLG and not expect thoughts to go astray! Or various undergarments!
Gosh..I’m trying to lighten it up..keep my mind off my worries about David and everyone else who may be on treacherous highways on the way to Northampton.
Is it working??
Actually SF I think that happened in NJ and a tech swooped in and GONE… David sort of “whoa’d” when it flew by. I can’t remember if that was before or after the cookies, which he remarked on. Maybe someone else will remember specifics. A girl in front of me was shaking some sort of filmy thing but she never let it go. Oh, yea..it’s goin to happen.
tawna21…I am trying without success to lessen my time checking out David’s concerts…I am either looking for new videos (Angels of course)or looking for the cellcast and news…I have to get a grip, I can’t quite figure out this passion…or get his songs out of my mind…what a state to be in!!!
SF, Oh god lingerie. What will he do? Well he could wear them on his head like Clay Aiken did at a concert, or he could be like Tom Jones and pick them up and wipe his brow….or he could just scoop them up and put them in a BIG box with all the others that will certainly be flying.
Joymus, David does provide that pleasure principle doesn’t he? I find myself smiling constantly watching him in action. And yes, Mary did relegate Elliott to the role of supreme. Poor thing!
I haven’t heard the version of One you all are talking about, only Bono’s. Not sure we can make a fair comparison unless we heard David’s version of the entire song. But that little snippet that we have heard -- pure bliss; and what I wouldn’t give to hear him do the whole dang thing! Oooh man!
And joymus, I so agree about how he pronounces certain words, it really enhances the song. He has a way of almost forcing you to listen and understand what he is singing.
I think David has a point in not reviewing tape of himself.
Heck, he just might start reining in his displays of “into-a-song-ness” or hire even more security/stage managers.
And people thought -- Cook was the sexy one all this time. To paraphrase HG -- FOOLS All. They are now being side-swiped by Ballad Boy. LOL!
turning in early in anticipation of a challenging day tomorrow. Nite all. I sure hope to get to the concert and bring back more memories to share. It’s been great today. Thanks all!
Oh, to anyone…it might be best not to try to tell some of us to not worry about David…many artists have to cancel their concerts due to exhaustion and sometimes the worries about him in these early days are warranted…The colds and flu are previlent and David makes direct contact with hundreds of people without the opportunity to keep his hands germ free…dangerous for him especially when he is overtired or stressed….
River -- Good Night and Good Luck to you!
HG @ 715
Meant to respond to this earlier but have been occupied in important work. Making screen caps of David and watching videos of David, and reading comments about David, and you know…the usual. I think it was dawn65 who said earlier that she wondered what she did a year ago instead, but it couldn’t have been very important cause it ain’t getting done now and life has gone on just fine. Something like that. I was wondering today about what I did a year ago too. I think it had something to do with pushing a broom and wiping random things with a dry cloth. lol! What’s up with that? What a waste of a life! I woke up this morning and had this vivid image of David’s expression in the Sayreville ZG video. It’s at 1.12 and shows him close up whipping his head around to look at the band with the sweetest smile on his face. He is bathed in a golden light and it is just a sublime moment. But I digress…I wanted to let you know that I too, did not much like DLG till I saw David sing it live and now it has become imbued with magic and is alive like it never was before for me. I love how you expressed it.
“DLG has always been one of my least favorite tracks, but watching this video and how David is just so intensely into it, I’m giving it a very different listen. The pleading, the in-the-zone moments that he’s channeling, he’s simply stunning and divine. That’s a huge gift to be able to transform a song that I had found so generic on his CD.”
Kinda think even if on some 18 yr old male level he felt a twinge of enjoyment at the thought of them throwing lacy things, he would never do anything to encourage it and prefers them not to. Too much respect, for them and for himself.
Cook? Sexy? HUH? I have NEVER thought of Cook in that way ever. Even after his makeover, and especially not now.
I don’t think David would ever pick up any lingerie thrown at him…but it WOULD BE A HOOT IF HE DID! And joke about it, like he did with the dinner invitation written on the big poster in Tulsa. His “image” would be forever changed from clueless to hotness!!
SF: I’m with you -- I NEVER thought Cook was sexy. And recently watched a video of his concert where he was spitting water out of his mouth like a whale. It was quite crude and there was just no sense of any stage presence from him. It’s like he went back to being the bar band singer that he was before Idol -- and wasted that win.
Hey all!
I’m not sure if this has been posted. There was a link to the page (before the interview was posted) on an earlier thread, but the interview is here now:
http://www.fox43tv.com/subindex/face_of_fox_43
I’ve been away for the weekend at my daughter’s sweet 16 party and completely out of touch with my David World. Lots to catch up on I’m sure.
**Here I go…**
Angelica -- well said!
My question is will producers in the future ever be able to capture this side of David’s artistry properly on disc?
As far as I’m concerned they can do a live album and record the performances in place of music videos -- the likes of ALTNOY -- which we still cannot see on VH1 despite the time and money spent on production and promotion.
David is singing ZG and the crowd is SPAZZING!!!
SF -- soooo right! Cook, think not. Never worked for me.
On the other hand, David’s Waiting On The World To Change audition was freaking sexy! Like Simon said, “when you got it, you got it.”
Commenting about the pace of this Tour: David is getting his college years by touring. Remember the all nighters, the partying till 4 AM then getting up at 7:00 for a test, the hang overs, the total crazy schedules of studying for four finals when you hadn’t studied all year while fighting with a boyfriend. LOL!
He can take this. Yes, he’ll have to take care of himself when he can. And I have no doubt that Jeff watches over him, I think he loves David dearly and would be the first to say, “Enough!” if it was necessary. But David is 18 and has a strong constitution. He’ll build up the stamina in a very short time.
I am a consultant and used to do the Monday morning -- Thursday night weekly trip to some distant city, sleeping 4 nights a week in a hotel room. You get used to the schedule and the pace. I remember one year when I was doing two clients at the same time and flying to two cities each week and back home again. And I was in my late thirties. It’s just something you figure out how to cope with. You figure out how much sleep you need, when to sleep a little later, take more vitamins, or whatever. David will be fine.
David sounds heavenly even on this cell cast..
http://www.blogtv.com/People/newyoricanny
For whoever wants to take a listen.
HG 545--absolutely on the money!!! Somebody in management has to help him out. Can’t they stop the promos and stupid interviews. Even the M&G’s--even tho’ we all want to have our time with him, do we want to destroy him?! He has got to protect himself and THE VOICE if he plans to carry on. Wish we could all get to his management team and give them a piece of our motherly/grandmotherly minds.
Marlie -- I knew that you had expressed that thought somewhere before about Cook seemingly wasting his win and I never got the chance to express just HOW much I agree with you.
In as much as David deflects questions about the win as Cook deserving (la di da), maybe he himself now realizes that the judges were in fact right about who really won -- the actual night of the finale. Not that slick cover-up on result night. He knows in his heart that David has outpaced him in form, reputation and BUZZ.
Allentown is a small venue and OMG..they are screaming non-stop!!
Hope there’s lot’s of videos!
Good point about Cher and Tina, BD. After such beginnings, what David is going through is a breeze in comparison.
Still want him to get some sleep though!
As for lingerie flying, that’s to be expected. He can’t be looking the way he’s looking and singing the way he’s singing and think undies are not going to come off!
I’d much rather panties thrown at him, than harmful potatoes, are you kidding me? Especially when the artist clearly doesn’t get why they’re being thrown at him. (He may object to the panties, but at least he and the rest of us know why those are being tossed about.)
As for American Idol, sigh, will those jokers ever learn?
SF: who could ever forget how hard TPTB had to work overtime to pass Cook off as *cough* sexy *cough*.
okay, this is last night minute and a half of one. The way he sings this, and the word “mouth”. I am a quivering mass under my desk.
Sorry, I forgot the link and had a bunch of typos.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN6zm1vwC78
Thinking of David STILL making sublime music when he’s Cher’s & Tina’s and Tom Jones & Tony Bennett for that matter..makes me very sad cuz I most likely will no longer be here..so I intend to enjoy this time, all the time for as long as the rest of my time here. AMEN!
David is singing Angels..looks like he’s wrapping up already???
Maybe they want to get started to Northampton before the snow hits.
I meant to say their AGE…
You know how something’s just kinda affect you unexpectedly, well…my apologies for getting ridiculously flustered.
I love this! We need to invite her to our blog!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh5ulpxzbcg
This just in…”We interrupt your ferocious David surfing to announce that THERE IS NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!”
You know what that means there’s more time for!
**still catching up…so much fun**
marlie…YES DIFINITELY YES, invite her to justDavid! She NEEDS us!
I’m trying NOT to worry about him. I wish I didn’t worry so much. If he knew how we worry so, would he think we’re weird? Pro-buh-blee.
Good night everyone who’s still up..for David,
Dear Lord, Though we are unworthy to ask,
Please take Care Of David. Watch over him, Protect him from all harm. Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path. Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give. Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him UNCONDITIONALLY as we, his Archangels do. Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being. Give him rest when he’s weary. Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace. Give him assurance when he feels doubt. Give him joy when he feels sad. Cloak him always in your protective arms during this time in his journey. Keep David and HIS VOICE healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born.
Though we may be unworthy, we humbly pray.
Amen.
David, Please get some sleep & have sweet dreams. Be safe & secure in our love always!
sweet dreams, SF
already snowing here 8(
coming down fast..
I need David therapy
emmiegirl… I’m hearin’ ya girl. sho nuff i’m hearin’ ya. lol (and juliebug is in a corner somewhere whimpering)
Angelica…ZG…1;12…and the moments…”priceless”…
OMG -- look at this video of Richmond someone just posted -- it’s like being there:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcuhQo95d8s
I posted it on the Richmond page, too.
Dawn~ Do you want me to resend to the 2 pics you had a problem with? I sent all the pics the same way..maybe too many at once.?.
Coming in late — have to work, too you know haha.
But this: HG (8:05) -- AI trash-talked the Davids? No personality? My goodness if personality means that hyenna-sounding/delusional acting Tatiana, then no wonder their ratings have fallen dismally.
Sorry if there is a Tatiana fan here but the very rare times I get a glimpse of her on TV… %$#^& -- like nails on blackboard — and am not even talking of the voice. It’s just her!
Re the KRZ interview -- I suggest you listen to the whole interview. IMHO, the DJ’s were not being disrespectful. Just foolish to think that they can get something from David more than he is willing to share. But listening to the whole proceedings gives a different texture of the stint.
Somebody mentioned that that radio station wasn’t even playing his songs — well in the US, that is not up to the DJ’s right?
The 2nd reason I was dying of laughter from the game -- aside from his curious replies & his literal interpretation of the rules -- was because he totally dumbfounded the DJs on their own game! It may look like to some that David was being painted in a not so favorable light, but could the DJ’s even predict that David would reply in such fashion? Now that is what I call totally left field.
Re the POTATO incident — the note attached to one of the potatoes says: “Dear David, You’re our little potato. But you’re no small potatoes. Love, SnarkyArchies.” It was written on a McDonald’s receipt from a random city in Ohio. Didn’t find it funny — and I love those girls!
JOSIE, NONI and others going to Allentown — please be careful. Safety 1st, ya hear?
GOSH, no full vid of ANGELS yet, huh?
Back to the saltmines for me. CYL!
thanks beebee, I needed affirmation. Beginning to think I am losing it here!
Here is an update from FOD:
“Sutty is on the ledge. We’re all on the ledge. And I quote…
The place tonight was on fire. They crowd was so loud, even louder than last night (Lancaster).
People are running around the building trying to find the bus. There is now a crowd surrounding the bus (Becky here: as I was talking to Sutty, screams erupted. The door to the bus opened. That’s it.)
They were behind a reporter for the Allentown Morning Call. During the concert, they were chatting with him, giving him details on David. After a while, he pulled out a notebook. He LOVES David. He was with his wife and towards the end of Angels, he had his arm around her.
Dark wash jeans, thick white hoodie, darker t-shirt.”
Allentown Videos already:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyP_XbTAl4A
marlie7…saw the video…she needs an invitation…if she is alone with this, well can you imagine how difficult it is for her? Needs to be brought into the fold…How in this world did you ever find her video…? Probably surfing the videos, my guess…
Yeah, I was looking for David stuff and that one said something about Allentown, so I clicked and there she was…poor thing. Putting on her mommy self and canceling her (2nd) trip to see David.
From IDF -
Random twitter:
David Archuleta was in our sacrament meeting today. Needless to say, the teenage girls freaked out
OMG..he is rockin the white hoodie..AND the crowd… Dance David Dance
Happy to see his first video of the night before I close out…It’s almost spooky to see so many of us out there and so alike…!!!
Through touring, random meet and greets, idiotic radio spots…he still finds time to do his missions… I just love this guy.
Here’s a nice Tribute video with the background song of Save the Day:

Has this been posted yet? A GREAT Zero Gravity mash-up of 3 shows. Love it!

This one is interesting -- a compilation of both audio and video from the first two shows -- Zero Gravity:

Also from IDF -
“I stayed for a bit, met the band and everything, and probably around half an hour after the show ended, we were outside at the tour bus. the guards were there telling us that David won’t come out (they are such mean people and they lie so nobody really listened lol) then Jeff came out and he was talking to fans and explaining how David needs rest and his voice is just getting back to normal and stuff, and so we should let him rest. and then some people left right away but me and the others stayed to talk to Jeff and get pictures and stuff. then I left. But I guess David came out afterwards? “
marlie -- I can’t get enough of this song!!
Marlie7, those megaupload links I sent you were MP4 versions( as videos).I downloaded DJ’s videos and uploaded them to megaupload so I can share them to you guys. If you download them , they can go straight to your IPOD or other MP4 players. Or you can just download them straight to your computer and can be played anytime without going through the internet and youtube.
I do also have MP3 versions of DJ’s videos. I can upload them again.
Just a reminder that all of them are 60MB + in size so they do take a lot of space and might take a long time to download . But if do not have access to the internet, you can still play with these videos
To be with you ( Lancaster concert)
Listen and watch this Lancaster video (thanks to Julerz202)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWGE0JTAQVE
Complete with the Kendra playing the violin, most of the time , the audience were so quiet that you can REALY hear THE VOICE…. there was a time that someone shouted and even said “SORRY” .
Then 1:57, (people can’t help themselves they had a bit of scream)
The only negative (ending missing.. probably a few seconds and we missed the loud applause) but overall LOVELY….
Some of the comments
Julerz202 (8 hours ago) ( the one who did the video)
it was dead silence during this. Very very weird feeling. But awesome!
samrlim (4 hours ago)
Great Video and the song is so beautiful. It’s nice when fans listen to the song and not keep on yelling, for you aprreciate the beauty of the song and the voice of David.
I like the fans here they listen to the song and don’t keep on screaming.
donna1254 (7 hours ago)
This is just so lovely. The sound is amazing! You are the first poster I have seen who has captured Kendra in the background on the violen, which adds a whole new element. Thank you so much.
VIENNAMAY (8 hours ago)
Stunning! I love the stillness of the audience. And I love Kendra (was her name Kendra) the lady with the violin, it’s so cool!
vee60 -- Okay, I get it now LOL! I did download them to iTunes and I can now play them on my iPod Touch without any connection. Thank you! I think I’m missing one, but I can go back and check the links on the thread.
Lesley has a nice widget/twitter promo going on for the tour
http://www.lesleyroymusic.com/
tap… tap… tap… wishing… waiting for lancaster’s angels video… wonder if anyone was able to capture the emo moment…
I think that one of David’s biggest struggles will be obligation versus what he wants in his life. I’m not saying that he didn’t want to be in church this morning, but I think he will find it very hard to weigh obligation versus other concerns such as tiredness/sickness. Also, if he is viewing this opportunity to serve his mission, I wonder if he is required to go to firesides and such as a form of service fulfillment. That’s sweet that he went to church, but if I were his mother I would have made him stay in bed and gave him some chicken soup and hot tea.
JR -- The Snarky girls have lots of vids (everything I think) but they are huge files and they have to wait until they get back and have good internet connection to upload them. And they are in Allentown tonight so it may be a day or two. And they were in the front row for ATM and Angels because they wanted close video because he was wearing Dana’s scarf she gave him the night of the football game (the stampede!).

MARLIE 9:24 — DEPISMYNAME is soooo cool! Yes let’s invite her.
My Hands -- Lancaster:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbTlJOVWqhk
Oh, god, can someone rip an MP3 from that version of My Hands? The ending is so good!
vee60,
thank you for that video link of TBWY. The audio is amazing and Kendra’s voice with his at 2.39 is absolutely angelic. It was so good to see the crowd being respectful.
freofan, this is not an official mission but a personal one, that David views as a way of reaching out to people in a caring way. He is not required to do any firesides or attend sacrament meetings unless he wants to. When he met President Monson at the Laker’s game months ago when he was still touring, he said to David something like, “Do what you feel is right for you, and the Lord will bless you.”
jackryan … that almost looks like one of our posted pictures.
Does anyone know that we have a boatload of new Sayerville pictures up ?
NICE… but bring a glass of cold water for the visit.
Marlie, if you like I can upload all of DJ’s videos as MP3 and MP4. MP3 only takes 2-3 MB while MP4 , about 60+MB. When I have the time, I can upload the videos. The romantic first then will go from there. JR and DJ will try to complete MP4 so everyone can enjoy THE VOICE.
Also, if people have some videos that you think are so special, I can upload them, just give me the links and we will go from there.
We do have time difference so when I am asleep, you guys are just up and running but it works for me (just like what DAVID says). Because now that I just sleep by myself, I can wake up anytime ( recently separated with my ex after 18 years of marriage), even early morning without explaining to this “B” husband. DA helped me survive this trying times and he does know how to save a life ( DLG ‘s changed words or added words :And I know how to save a life)
See you guys, just got to run. Got ot pick-up my little boy from school.
nice avi, dawn!
The moment captured forever.
dawn -- I saw all of the new photos. I think every moment of that concert could be screencapped as far as I’m concerned!
The cold glass of water didn’t do the trick.
vee60,
You rock from down under, girl. Thanks for all your hard work. I’m so glad that David helped you get through a difficult time. I know he was an answer to a prayer for me and turned my life from quiet desperation to pure joy. He really does know how to save a life.
Hi all,
I’m testing a few things to see if I can speed up this blog when posting comments. I changed a setting, so we’ll see how this goes.
I may also set it to start a new page (comment relief!) when we hit 300 comments. Don’t be alarmed! LOL!
Wow, it seems 10 times faster with just that one change. Let me know if it seems faster to anyone else.
vee60 I would so love the video of the Richmond Zero Gravity (I have watched that a zillion times in the last 2 days).

It’s speedy fast!!!!
Marlie, I sent you an MP3 of the My Hands Lancaster.
Vee -- Until yesterday I had never megauploaded anything. I now have my top three. Thanks to you. I have been watching them at my leisure.
David has made difficulties in my life easier to bear. I can change the channel in my mind and listen to David soothe me at any time. I often do.

Oh, man, you guys are all so sweet! I’m going to be up all night downloading all this stuff for my ipod. Then I can listen to it on my way to Buffalo on Tuesday -- plugged right into the car stereo. When you hear Zero Gravity from some car going down the road, you’ll know it’s me!
Joner and I are freaking out and looking forward to Chicago next weekend! We hope he gets rest before then, and is over his cold, hopefully!
Oh, Freo -- listen to Angels from Allentown and you’ll hear that he is back in excellent form with his VOICE!
juliebug -- thanks for the angels link.
He looked and sounded just perfect.
Maybe he’s over that cold.
back from allentown… joined by refnaf, TOfan, mommazboys, sunshine, and ninaf…we chatted with jeff and eli in the brewpub at lunch time very briefly and then again at the venue…very interesting set up…we waited in the “over-21-line”…waited inside in a bar, on chairs, nice and cozy, listened to sound check…poor “under-21-line-waiters” outside… tip from happy, “talk to the locals” (like the hostess at the brewpub for example) to learn about your venue…anyway entered, went to the front barricade right side next to the sound board and stood right behind jeff with unobstructed view, chatted with mike and alex and jeff…jeff ferried little kids into the little area in front of us 4 at a time like a disney attraction during at least half of the show… interesting to watch… pushing was still an issue but I didn’t have secret-agent with me so I didn’t mind, and we were front row so what do you expect?..no djb so no vids, sorry…great show though…
Happy -- hope you had fun.
You talked with Jeff? And Eli?
Spill it sister.
betsy (((hug)))
I wish you and your son all the best.
thanks liz. It’s so strange to be telling strangers online about my personal problems, but nobody at home can bear to talk about it. And you guys do not feel like strangers at all.
Jeff was ferrying kids? haha… cute.
That’s what I like about Jeff, always on the look out for those needing help. There is this one video from a radio station where 4 kids were waiting outside the station for David to finish his guesting -- remember that vid where they rushed hugging him when he got out?
The raw vid showed one of the kids didn’t have anything for David to sign. Then from behind, Jeff slightly tapped her and pointed to a lady/assistant who handed her a pic of David so she can have something for David to sign.
The only downside is of course Jeff cannot help or accommodate everyone…
jackryan4da: I’m sorry, but I had to block the last set of links you posted. I clicked on the mp3 one and my McAfee went crazy because it was blocking a Trojan virus. I just don’t want anyone else to get “infected” until I can figure out what happened.
betsy,
Hope it will be good news for your son. Will keep you and him in my prayers.
Eli blogs -
“Crocodile Rock
Hey ya’ll. Thanks for another great night. I am going to keep this short cause i am only typing with one hand. I jammed my fingers really bad in the bus door 10 min b4 we went on ( it hurts pretty bad. I still had so much fun tho, all your energy helped me get through the night. I love you guys. Thank you for tonight. Please dont hold this short blog against me.”
Poor guy!
freofan--David is simply revitalizing his spirituality by attending Sacrament mtg. It only lasts for 1 hour.
I had just arrived at the brewpub and was heading to the bathroom. I saw Jeff and Eli sitting at a bar table(waiting for take out) and talking to 2 women. I walked up to him, said hello, and introduced myself. I turned to the 2 women and noticed they were refnaf and sunshine, lol! so we all hugged hello…I told Eli that we blogged about them, I had written a post about Sayreville and referred to him as a “doll faced drummer”, he laughed and said he doesn’t usually look that good. I gave him a few details about our site (which he of course knew nothing about, lol) he asked me what my favorite song in Sayreville was (this is apparently their standard question) and I told him the 1 minute of One and ZG. He seemed surprised to hear that. Jeff asked the same and then continued his already started conversation with refnaf, which I listened to but did not comment on. I asked Eli if fans like us that interrupt their privacy are annoying and he properly and politely replied that he was enjoying it all. We chatted about the impending storm and their treck to Massachusetts heading right into it. I got the feeling that tonight was going to be a rush (which I appreciated, heading into it myself.) We had a few more pleasant words about the tour and the shows, their food came, and they left. Both were friendly, happy, and gracious.
ps. Eli IS a doll faced drummer.
HAPPY. TOfan, refnaf and co. — any chance to confirm if ZG will be launched as a single?
In two days I will surely find out whether or not my son has a traumatic brain injury. (from 2 IED’S)

But I just talk a little about what’s been going on, and how I’ve been trying to stay healthy haha. I’ve been eating a lot more vegetables and fruits lately, thanks to Kendra haha. She’s keeping me in line. I’m trying to stay away from a lot of chocolate and unhealthy stuff to keep my health up, which kills me sometimes because I love that stuff so much!
. But it’ll be worth it if I can keep it up! Thanks for coming to the show you guys! Can’t wait for the rest of the tour!”

and hope it works.
Enjoy!!!!
I better run again, for trumpet lesson (my little boy), sax for my 13 year old ( but seems like 18 years old , a wonderful support during my separation with his father) and my PIANO LESSONS ( another of the things I have to thank David….I wished to learn an instrument when I was young (growing up in the PHILIPPINES) but because of him….. I am learning to do it. I have now extra time to do something for my self. ( before it was these three people and no time for myself… not anymore especially if you found out that the EX “B” Husband is having extra curricular activities). Rather than waiting outside while my two boys were having music lessons, I told myself, why not learn an instrument. Although I am now 49 years old, I have learned that anything is possible if you want it…I can now read notes and play simple songs, like 10 little Indian and now learning sharp notes. Really I am using two hands (10 fingers) to play the piano.
See you later…. I have downloaded Angels from Allentown and My hands from Lancaster( my favourite ).Will try to upload them later tonight.
JR I will TBWY with that ending, missed that in my previous comment.

Oh man, I love his vlogs so much. How can anyone look that beautiful and flawless that close up? It’s good to hear he is taking care of his health and eating lots of fruits and veggies and staying away from the sweets. That will make SF happy. I know we will all still worry a little anyway. Says he’s trying to stay away from the cold too, cause he says he can get sick really easily from cold weather. Yikes! They really could have planned the northeast around the spring. Anyway, I’m happy Kendra is looking out for him and his health. Go Kendra! While we’re praying for his safety and health and stamina, we should really pray that this band stays with him because I think they are good for him in a lot of ways. They sound great, they’re helping him get looser on the stage and dance more and taking care of him. It’s a good fit and he needs some stability amid all the chaos. I love at the end where he makes the peace sign and goes, “Peace out”, and then says “no, that’s not right” or something before the camera cuts off. I don’t know what he meant, who cares, he’s adorable!

maaaan…. video surfing with David as the subject can be lethal!
The Surgeon General has determined that viewing the following videos is hazardous to your health. This is particularly true for those diagnosed with at least Level 2 ODD. Note that
1. Quitting now will greatly reduce ODD risks
2. Said vids may fog the mind disabling critical thinking for a good portion of the day, at the very least.
3. Viewing them will cause heart palpitations which may lead to ODD complications.
VID 1: Prepare to be slayed with the ALLENTOWN version of TBWY, posted by JULIEBUG @ 2:42. Seriously.
VID 2: ANGELICA’s prognosis by thoughtfully noting .16-.19 is a good foil for vid #1 but has some side effects. Seriously.
It’s like traipsing between heaven & earth. Now I need a drink. Seriously.
This is a public service announcement for the benefit of all Archies & Arch Angels in Archuland.
jackryan4da…I did not heed the Surgeon General’s warnings especially for the Allentown’s TBWY…..the side effects are numerous, chronic disabilities.
It was the piercing effect of the eyes that caused the heart arrythmias…which led to a meltdown of oohhhsss and aahhhssss..
I can’t get the stare out of my mind and that is causing brain wave disturbances with video flashbacks happening regularly every time I try to close my eyes…
You see I got up out of a warm bed during this ice storm to take our lab out then took a detour to my pc instead of going back to bed like an intelligent person would…not being of sound intelligence I am probably the first east coaster to be checking out last night’s memorable moments…
I am sitting at my favorite pc chair here in the dark wearing my pjs under my long borg pile coat and bare feet in my winter boots…so perhaps I have lost my mind…although I am in this chair so that I don’t awaken the family but more for the personal time I want to spend with…you know who…
Thanks jackryan4da for the warnings but heck I can’t heed them right now…
I have to get to work, but I just have to say something here. I just watched TBWY..He put his heart out there. He IS SINGING TO SOMEONE IN PARTICULAR! I AM SURE OF IT! It just shows in his eyes. He’s looking straight at the camera. he’s sending a message to whoever it is. He knows she will see the video, he’s hoping she will see the video. He knows he can’t be with her. Not yet. But someday. He knows he has other obligations, other responsibilities right now. His life is too complicated now. He’s hoping she understands and will wait for him.
Just had to say it. I love David and everything he stands for. I wish everything good life has to offer. I wish him LOVE.
I hope he & his tour family have a safe journey the rest of the tour, especially today & tomorrow!
That TBWY performance is beyond magical and mystical. It’s early morning and I’m all misty-eyed at my computer. Blizzard raging outside and I’m desperately hoping that it works out for tonite..for David and all of us. He sounds more magnifcent than ever. Loved your report Happy… beyond cool.
Good morning all! That TBWY video -- SWEEEEET!!!
(Didn’t care for the accompanying vocals though).
To all of you going to tonight’s concert, stay safe!
Good morning! Lovely videos to wake up to.
Hope everyone travels safely -- for those coming Northwest (to Buffalo), roads here are covered with a dusting of snow and are slightly slippery this morning, but will likely be dry by mid-morning unless more snow falls. It is not currently snowing and the forecast is for scattered flurries.
SF -- he has the look of love, I quite agree. Remember many many threads ago, I teased you guys about him having a spring to his steps, a smile in his eyes, an unmistakable glow?
but most important of all — SF, I RECEIVED YOUR POUCH 2 HOURS AGO!!!!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you soooooooo much for sending me the mags. MUWAH!!!
That and the TBWY -- how can anyone has any fighting chance of overcoming ODD? Heck, what am I talking about? Who wants to be out of ODD. Not me for sure! And not you, right?
Again thanks my sweet. {{{hugs}}} Truly hope to do that in the flesh someday.
Happy, TOfan, refnaf,Sunshine, Mommuzboys, ninaf: Can’t wait to hear your stories about Allentown and some of you also went to Lancaster and Sayreville!! And, you got to talk to Jeff and Eli, the doll-face drummer boy…*waiting for details & pix*
David did sound clearer tonight in Allentown and went for more high notes…but glad to hear, Happy, that his voice is getting back to his normal range; sounds like the band helped and they made accommodations for that..hooray for the great support.
SF--It appeared to me, too, that he was singing to someone in mind in TBWY; such beauty, such stillness with the energy aimed in a laser-like beam to each note.
…do we need a warning or do we need to package this and market to ppl who want and/or love beauty, inspiration, joy, & hope all wrapped up in one slight young man with a voice and an interpretive talent the likes of which we’ve never seen—-oh, wait a minute, that’s what he’s doing—LOL—yeah, I’m (slightly *cough*) OTT with these Allentown vids.
JR..Good! I was getting worried that it was taking so long for the mags to get to you! And you are VERY welcome, it was MY pleasure.
I’m glad some of you agree with me about David singing TO someone special, and that it wasn’t my imagination. I was also thinking when he’s ready to admit there is someone special he wants to be with eventually, he’s going to break many, many hearts.
Right now though, I just want to hear the bus got to Northampton safely. As well as everyone else who is braving the snow & cold to see David.
SANDY -- the SGW is no match to ODD. Hands down.
And that TBWY is a touchdown in so many levels…
SF, I doubt he’ll ever admit this publicly. He’s very wise and knows how to keep mum. I’m learning this about him. He’s really good at deflecting the girlfriend/kiss questions of late. He’s also very good at keeping up a “clueless” facade. He’s going to protect that special someone from the limelight, that I’m certain of.
So, the rest of us will just have to keep on speculating.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laJi87H_Ns4&eurl=http://justdavida.wordpress.com/tour-news/allentown-pa-march-1-2009/ Note: This is on the Tour Reflections page (thanks Marlie)
TMH--Videographer caught the 1st 45 secs before he comes on stage; video’d from the middle of the crowd. Gives you a sense of what is was to be in the audience just before he enters…the intro music--I just can’t get enough of that moment, the music, the audience…the excitement is palpable. Couple that with the back stage video of him entering the stage for TMH and there is a greater perspective of the event…I can’t stop loving the “star” treatment here!
Okay everyone, we are off. It’s snowing like the devil here, we have about 6 inches of snow. It will take us about 2 hours, maybe more to get out of the thick of it.
Hopefully the hotel has wifi, and if so…I’ll log in tonight.
Hope everyone has a safe day !!!
David once said that it is nice to have someone to talk to meaning on a personal level…but I can’t remember what else he said….it was a long time ago.
Sometimes when he sings such as during parts of some songs..he closes his eyes completely and sings within himself…trying to break away from what is in front of him…When he sang Crush on iCarly his eyes were shut for most of the song…maybe needs to focus
Only guessing at this…859

(Didn’t care for the accompanying vocals though).
WOW I thought Kendra’s voice was intrusive and off key at times. They need to leave that song to David.
Snowing here is Massachusetts. Going will be slow but i doubt the show will be canceled. The biggest pain will be parking lots being plowed or not.
Bittersweet day for me. I was kinda sad about my decision to not go to Northampton. The drive is 2 hours for me. Now that the weather is bad, I know I made the best decision for myself. I’d be stressed to the max trying to navigate today.

For some reason, my hand was covering my mouth the whole time. Sometimes I just can’t believe what I’m hearing.
Abrra,
So sorry that you won’t be able to make it to the show. Joner and I got caught in horrible weather and traffic during the Chicago Jingle Jam, so I totally understand the stress involved. Even David and his dad were caught in the same traffic, and by the end, his dad said they were just focusing on getting him to the concert. The situation was ridiculous. The other people in our group had four-wheel drives and they were able to make the private M&G with David, which we missed we just had an ordinary car and we did not feel safe. Sometimes it just is not worth it.
This from a post at Snarky’s..I find myself gritting my teeth. What part about Jeff saying David was sick and they want to leave before the snow starts did they not understand???
———————————————————
Okay so the show was really good tonight!! Not as loud as Sayreville but it was still awesome! Anyway after the concert a few of my friends and I rushed over to David’s tour bus to see if we could catch him before he left for Massachusetts. Jeff was there and he said David was sick and that they wanted to leave before the snow started but he said that he would see what he could do and he went in the bus. Unfortunately, he drove the bus away. We started walking back to our cars but the bus came back again!!!! we decided to wait by the bus for David to come out because some guards said that he was taking a shower and eating. Some guards were threatening to call the cops and that he wouldnt come out if we didnt leave but most people stayed where they were! hahaha. So we waited about an hour and David finally came out to sign autographs at around 10:30!!! It just started snowing and David looked soooooo cute in the snow! =)
———————————————————
The bus came back because David didn’t want to disappoint his fans. And this is why David needs to learn how to say NO when asked to do more than is reasonable. He needs to know WE will understand. WE will not stop loving him, or stop supporting him if he says “no, I’m sorry, but not tonight”. This is also proof to me that David does what he wants to do, regardless if anyone tells him he shouldn’t. He MADE the bus driver go back. He wasn’t thinking of himself and this was one instance when he SHOULD have thought of himself for a change, cuz in the long run, his good health is as much for us as for himself. Standing out in the cold & snow he looked very happy, almost giddy, which is not an unusual feeling for artists after a great performance. But still doesn’t mean it was the right thing to do.
There..I’m done with my “grandmotherly” rant!
Also, I really appreciate that Kendra is looking after David and all, but she needs to stop the background vocals on TBWY.
ok gang.. we are going for it. If you have any connections pray for us (: If it comes together it will all be worth it. Connecticut David fans rock.
Go river992! Safe travels and Happy David-dancing!
river and dj -- stafe safe, go slow, and drive defensively. There is a prize at the end!
* stay safe!
SF -- I thought the same when I was reading that over at Snarkies. Selfish, selfish behaviour. I can just hear David saying “Go back, go back now”. And another thing. No jacket. Just a hoodie. Fresh out of the shower and into the cold cannot be a good thing.
I’m ranting right along with you.
SF, I saw that, too, about the bus coming back! David needs to learn to say no in those types of situations. Most fans would understand the need for rest.
Did I read that correctly that Jeff was driving the bus?
Go river & dj..prayers follow you on your journey to and from Northampton to be safe & sound!
Have a great time!
Stopped snowing in Massachusets at 9 am. I think the folks going will be fine traveling.
freofan
Thanks for that /Comfort Fedoke. Sorry for your Chicago stress. We all have had times like that.So close and yet so far. It leaves a scar on our heart.
Good thoughts for dj and river. St. Christopher can ride shotgun.
SF
After the potato incident ( see my avi) I have lost a lot of respect for Snarkies. They are young, all I can say. The recap you posted speaks to youth and it’s selfishness. (I want my David now and damn the snow and his health.)

Freo-I’m fairly certain Jeff does NOT drive the bus -- there’s a picture of the bus driver, sitting in the driver’s seat.
knotliser -- had to post it -- John J. GETS David!!

Teen “Idol” Archuleta hits all the right notes at Croc Rock

Of The Morning Call
What’s not to like about “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta?
Absolutely nothing, if you were at Allentown’s Crocodile Rock on Sunday.
In a concert that spanned 70 minutes and 14 full songs plus a medley of four others, Archuleta sang with passion, exuded an engaging boyish stage presence and didn’t hit a single bad note with his rich tenor voice — and, in fact, hit many very good ones.
He nailed the signature notes from the opening “Touch My Hand” (the title of which he took literally — handshaking the front row) to the killer closing of Robbie Williams’ “Angels,” and even outdid the big note on the recorded version of his hit “Crush.” He emoted often, but never in a cheesy way, and worked so hard that four songs into the show he was wiping sweat and by the end was breathing hard.
In a white hoodie, jeans and sneakers, Archuleta was delightfully disarming, dancing around the stage as you expect an 18-year-old would, constantly talking to the packed crowd (he even took a picture of them, explaining he’s wants to document his first solo tour), and frequently smiling and waving — which, of course, brought shrieks from the mostly teen-girl crowd every time.
The show made the inherent weakness of “Idol” for Archuleta obvious: While great on other people’s material — during the medley he did Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” better than Mraz and, alone at the piano during the encore, made Pike County native Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” believable for a vulnerable male voice — he was even better on his own material.
With a four-person band that gave him umph, Archuleta showed mastery of many styles: a funky “Works For Me”; the driving pop of “Don’t Let Go,” a catchy “Waiting for Yesterday” and a great “A Little Too Not Over You”; and even neo-disco on the unreleased song “Zero Gravity.”
But the highlight was the slower songs: “To Be With You,” with him on piano backed by violin, was heartbreaking, and as good as any torch singer. “Somebody Out There,” which he sang like a siren while sitting on a stool, would be a great wedding song. “My Hands” had a sweet a cappella coda.
As talented a pop singer as Archuleta is, his wonderful voice just seems suited to songs that center on it, which may show where his future lies.
And what’s not to like about that?
Freo..no, Jeff was not driving. They have a bus driver (who I think kinda looks like Ray, the tour mgr/security guy from the AI tour). Pics are at Snarky’s.
short bio on john moser (croc rock show reviewer) from site: “JOHN J. MOSER- He caught the music writing bug in high school when his Led Zeppelin story won an award. He wrote the first story ever on Jack’s Mannequin, has the number for All-American Rejects’ Nick Wheeler on his cell phone and was the only newspaper writer given access to the Jonas Brothers for a day.”

Thanks for that great review link. I left a comment. Note the 2nd photo (click for large view) the blonde in the lower right is giving David “love eyes” LOL

Kizzi–
Good you posted it. I had to go move my car. It is still snowing here, but more spitting than coming down hard at the moment. The hotel driveway is slippery, but I don’t know about the roads. So here I am with my second unplanned stay in a hotel room because of David and stormy weather. Last time it was an ice storm. Aside from the safety issue, I love the adventure of it all. Now we wait to see how it unfolds…
Wow! A music critic that actually listens to the music. A standout among others who like to try to outdo everyone else in the sarcasm and attempted wit category.
Spamming today
Can’t help it lol
I have a NSFW but funny for the ladies who wear the pink scarf. I will email it to the contact email. It’s really hysterical.

SF -- MikeK just blogged; they made it safe to Northampton!
Hey people!!!
Sorry for not blogging sooner for the Lancaster show, so I’ll do a two in one with this one.
The last two shows were great! Tons of fun, tons of energy and above all, AMAZING fans.
It’s really great to see some of the same faces, at the shows.
The fans have been amazingly sweet to all of us, sending us gifts, getting coffee, and just plain being great people and hanging out with us. So, Thanks for all the cool cards, pics and gifts!!!
Unfortunately we had to leave almost right after the show last night because of the weather conditions…..our bus driver said is was horrible driving….But thanks to him we just arrived in North Hampton safely.
I’m looking for some cool band shots, so if any of you have any, please send them to me, we’re keeping a collection and I would like some cool ones to pimp out my myspace page.
I have to say, Its been a great experience to be able to play Somebody Out There, A Little Too Not Over You and Zero Gravity with David, seeing the songs we wrote come together in a live setting is a great feeling to have…..I feel blessed to be a part of such a great thing!
Mike
Kizzi--844--I remember when I saw Neil Diamond in concert, his entrance was very similar to the TMH that you did here. Yeah!! David is headed right in the path that Neil Diamond took to stardom. Gotta loooovvvveee it!!
Thanks for posting the blog, Kizzi. I was so worried.
HG 751 and Abrra 906--I thought maybe it was just me that wasn’t liking Kendra’s vocals on this song. I mean, she’s got a beautiful voice, but it just wasn’t meshing with David’s. It seemed a little too loud or something--and off-key at times. Hopefully, someone with the group records each performance and they will catch it. If not, oh well, we can still totally zone in on David.
Hey Guys
I posted a little on TBWY at Allentown.
http://alwaysarchuleta.blogspot.com/2009/03/to-be-with-you-at-allentown.html
Hope ya like it
chenson -- chris -- enjoyed reading your blog on TBWY! Thanks
Do you have your tix to McFly concert yet? Heard they went on sale last week.
Chenson -- you captured my own sentiments about this song. I liked it, but now, after seeing David perform it live (on video -- I’m heading to Buffalo tomorrow night!) I love this song. The glory note…what is there to say but transcendent. Great post!
Well written, Chenson.
David went somewhere else for the entire song. I wonder where he was?
Chenson -- I’d love your take on Zero Gravity.
chenson..loved your post. As always, it’s good to get a man’s perspective on David’s performances.
Kizzi..THANK YOU! And thanks to Mike for letting us know they got there safely! KUDOS to the bus driver (we need a name, please) for driving like he was carrying very precious cargo..cuz he was! I can breathe and work a little easier.
Now I hope we hear from our girls, Josie & her mum, jd & river, that they also got there safely.
SH: And we have Dawn65 and her daughter on their way to Buffalo today, too. Prayers and safe travel for all of them.
Kizzi -- Yes I have my tickets -- London, Croydon, Leicester and Portsmouth Im booked for
Thanks for the nice comments. Ill do a post on ZG at some point.
Yay! And Chris, you don’t have to sell a body part this time around. haha!
marlie..yes prayers for everyone who is braving the treacherous weather for Love Of David..What is it about David that compels so many to forget about the possible consequences of driving in the storm just to see & hear The Voice? The love we have for him is, well it’s
cra-zeh!
Chris -- 4 shows -- fabulous! Lucky you! And the London venue is something else. Please post your personal reviews of the McFly concert for us if you have time especially the audiences reception and any media reviews--I am anticipating some fun and different reviews.
I really enjoy so very much reading your perspective at 18 and a music student. Looking forward to your Zero Gravity comments! Good dance music too!
It’s fun to speculate about whether David has someone special right now that he’s singing to in TBWY. I hope he does, but let’s face it. Until he’s ready to reveal it, we can’t know. He’s so busy right now. No time for much else but touring and work, work, work. Still, I like to think he’s met someone absolutely wonderful.
But here’s the thing which has come as something of a revelation to me since this tour began such a short time ago. David can make us believe whatever he wants when he is performing. If he wants to make it look like he’s really, really in love, he can do it. He’s that good. Heck, he had people believing he actually collapsed from exhaustion and went into a trance the other night on DLG, and the next minute he was grinning like a cheshire cat. Interpreting a song not only with his voice, but with his entire being is his work and his passion and IMO, nobody does it like him. I ask myself almost everyday why am I sitting here again at this computer. And I know the answer is because, after all these years, all is not vanity; there really is something new under the sun. We sane, logical adults are way out of character with ODD because we recognize, deep down, that there is not now, nor ever will be again, anything like him. He can take us wherever he wants, from the heights of elation to the depths of despair.
This is something that Rascal wrote on May 7, 2008. It was after his performance of Love Me Tender on AI. He entitled the blog “Owning David Archuleta”.
“I believe David Archuleta has finally decided to be David Archuleta. And in the world of show business, that is no small thing. David is modest and compassionate by nature, and so his immense talent and dedication to his craft have surely seemed to him to be a magnificent gift for which he is neither proud nor ambitious, but grateful and humbled. The only possible downside to this respectable attitude is the disinclination to take personal ownership of the skill, and full responsibility for how it works in the world. That has changed.
The technical aspects of David’s work last night were not fundamentally different than they were before. But the level of command and control over his audience that David exhibited was unprecedented. In his moments of greatest ease onstage in performances past, there have been glimpses of his desire and capacity to guide an audience, but David has never before displayed such an unambiguous commitment to lead; to finally and ultimately say, with complete and conscious determination, “follow me, I know where to take you.”
Great post, Angelica @1:52. I completely agree. You should do a new post on this subject!
chenson -- I’d like to exchange emails with you; if that’s ok, please go to the Contact tab and send your email address and I’ll contact you. Thanks

Angelica: I had just finished watching Don’t Let Go again a few minutes ago, and then I read what Rascal wrote and it brought tears to my eyes. I don’t know why. I’m not sure I know what I’m feeling sometimes when we are talking about David or when I’m watching him perform in person or on a video. Something just swells up in my heart and tears form in my eyes. It’s not a bad feeling by any means, it’s quite wonderful -- like I’m witnessing something truly unique and magical. It is in it’s own way quite spiritual.
I’ve felt that way in the past, but now, after watching these tour videos, it happens quite a bit. He can embody so many personalities and states of mind all in one performance -- in one song that it just takes you away. There is a part in the video of him doing Zero Gravity in Richmond that does that quite amazingly. From 1:25 -- 1:45 he is sexy and in control of the song, driving it with his voice and his movement. At 1:45 -- 1:55 he is wondrous, youthful, looking up to the clouds, a joyous smile on his face, and then he turns back into that man in control of us again. It’s a startling change, actually. And I love it -- the parts of David.
Okay, I’m rambling. He makes me happy.
I just split this thread into two parts. You will not have to do anything to get here, but if you want to see the first 300 comments, there is a small gray link just above this box that says <Older Comments. Click that to go back a page.
It was getting slow loading again.
Angelica -- What a great insight and rascal’s post on LMT is one of my all time favorites. So definitive.
I was thinking when I viewed Allentown’s TBWY that David caressed each syllable like Randy noted on his LMT performance. Hadn’t related to ownership and responsibility for his gift. And John Moser of the Morning Call in Allentown called it a “torch song” (a sentimental love song lamenting a lost/unrequited love with a blues melody line) but I see it more as a love song, a celebration of finding someone…*scratches head*
Wow, so much to ponder and grasp. What a privilege to watch such a gift unfold. Thanks Angelica
Sigh. I’m sooo angry about something that transpired at work today. I can’t believe I didn’t try and go to either tonight or tomorrow night’s concert because of my commitments to an important event at work.
Now, I’m getting resistance, no one is thanking me for the efforts I made in organizing this event, and now, I have to see it through under such negativity!
Dammit! If I had just been utterly selfish, told all my coworkers to go $@$%^ themselves, and just get lost in a magical evening with David Archuleta. Double Sigh.
*Sorry for this rant.*
HG: It’s such a bummer to try to balance work and real life, make a commitment to the work and then realize they don’t exactly give a care. I find myself moving the weight on the balance bar more toward my personal life as I get older. Too many times I’ve given up something personal to honor some event or deliverable at work only to find it didn’t matter, or it wasn’t fulfilling, and regretted it.
I am so sorry you had that experience today. Want me to slap them for ya?

Noni and I made it to Northampton safe and sound. Phew!
Josie -- Fantastic! We all had you in our thoughts for a safe trip!
josie- are you there? is this a standing room only place?
i have some thoughts for you.
from Snarky’s on “PotatoGate” (their phrase):
“…FYI, David coined “Starchy Archies” following the incident, according to Alex the bassist. Alex promised David the next time a fan throws a potato at him, he will jump on said fan in the audience. Palak is currently buying tons of potatoes.”
ROFLMBO!
HG…so sorry about the turn of events at the office…
I see this unfolding as a mysterious, dramatic movie…everyone on this site is in the movie…David of course the main character/star…
Everything about David is extreme and unusual…including magnificent and wonderous etc…
People from all walks of life taken from their usual places, connecting, facing adversities, dangers, doing anything they are compelled to do to join him…(snowstorms!!!)
Everyone carefully chosen to be here to be a part of it…an integral part of it…everyone with a purpose…
The final chapter of book #1, Salt Lake City, Utah…
I know SF…craz-eeh…but I get this feeling about it!!!!
Hi…
I’ve been under the weather, this change of life stuff has hit me like a ton of bricks… watching all the videos, he is amazing…sometimes I tell myself I need to ween myself from this ODD, set time limits, but here I am at work posting, something I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d do. I’ve never been a fan of anyone…. I think people understand me here…. tell me I’m not crazy.
Angelica-
The technical aspects of David’s work last night were not fundamentally different than they were before.
This gave me the chills… I don’t know how to explain to “I like David” people the hold this man has on me. Like SF I was upset that he went out to sign after the concert in the snow, please fans if you love David let him rest. He is giving us something so special through these performances and now I’ll be selfish I want him healthy on March 17th.
Marlie7- Thank you again for the Tour Reflections… You have all been so busy. This justDavid is a special place.
Thanks for keeping us “safe”! It was a little nerve wracking in places but we are here.
Happy yes it is SRO. My mom is going to be in a wheelchair so they said we would be let in before the others. But I’d love any suggestions because I really want my mom to be able to REALLY see him. Thanks happy!!
that’s all i was going to suggest. they were bringing the wheelchair crowd in first last night and they were put in the front…right next to us actually, so we kept them safe and they kept us safe, lol. have a great time!!! can’t wait for your reflection and noni’s. email me and we can post it on the tour reflections page along with reflections from dj and river if they send them.
“Want me to slap them for ya?”
Marlie, I would be forever grateful if you would! ha ha!
Hello
~Occasional lurker on ND and new here too, BIG DA fan, of course…
I know this isn’t about this thread, but since it’s the current one, just thought I’d post here to ask if anyone is in Northampton area, I have a spare ticket for tonight’s show…
can be reached on Blackberry: donn.cornell@hsius.com,
that is my boyfriend’s BB, we’ll have on us.
Tks~A.
ps. THE bus is parked outside Pearl St. Cafe now…they made it up from Allentown in the blizzard…yay, David and gang!
No, I’m not 12, but happily regressing in these moments.
Thanks Happy. Noni isn’t usually happy about the wheelchair but I think this time she is
I’m glad to hear you say you all took care of eachother. That will be my plan too. I will email you.
amb4da- “happily regressing” …isn’t that the truth…. happily growing young again.
josie- look forward to hearing from you….noni will be so proud and delighted, David rocks!
btw- maybe some toilet paper in the ears for the opening act..i’m serious, you will be right in front of the speakers and it will be LOUD…don’t know if noni will love the opening act as much as David
Happy I would bet big $$ Noni will be meh about opening act. She really only has ears for David:)
Sigh. I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch any vids from either tonight or tomorrow night’s concert. I’ll be reminded of what I’m missing, what I’m missing it for, and I don’t know if I’ll stop myself from crying. I’m feeling the tears already.
HG: So, can you get yourself a ticket to another venue? Are you scheduled to go to SLC for the final concert?
Marlie7 204,
Oh Geez, you noticed that too in ZG? I know exactly what you mean, there are times when he leans back into the falsetto and closes his eyes and he is so tender. The next moment he is rocking out all raw and powerfully sexy. Then there are those moments that you described so well.
“At 1:45 -- 1:55 he is wondrous, youthful, looking up to the clouds, a joyous smile on his face, and then he turns back into that man in control of us again.”
That moment when he becomes so enchantingly innocent and joyful, he dares to move close enough to the audience to touch their hands. But instead, he doesn’t even look at them, he looks upward as though he is transported beyond it all and yet he lets them experience up close his exaltation. That takes some weighty spheres.
At 1:45 -- 1:55 he is wondrous, youthful, looking up to the clouds, a joyous smile on his face, and then he turns back into that man in control of us again.
Sorry about the double post of your lovely quote.
Josie..very relieved you & your mum are safe & sound!
I feel so badly for you HG, but I also understand that you felt you did what you felt you had to do. You are one of the most level-headed, and strong woman I have ever “met”. Buh-lieve me, I have second guessed myself about the plans I’ve made to see David two more times after Albuq. due to the cost, but as I said, this is MY time to do whatever I want as long as I’m not hurting anyone. I may never get a chance to see David again and life’s too short as it is. And my kids are telling me GO FOR IT MOM! Yay! My kids get that David is special to me.
I used to think that space-age technology was growing too fast, way too fast! Now I’m so grateful for it, cuz we can have all these videos almost instantly, and we can have these blogs where we can share so much, and ease each other’s pain even if it’s through cyberspace, like this..I’m sending you {{{hugs}}}.
BTW..I don’t know how far you live from Buffalo, but Snarky’s posted something about someone having tickets they want to give away for the venue tomorrow night. Such short notice is the pits though.
HG- get tickets for another show, definitely.
ladies and gentlemen for your viewing pleasure!!!!
WARNING: TO die for so do not eat or drink while watching please…..
Please be sure that the shower room is available anytime you want to use it.,,,,,,,,

djafan 325,
That quote is from Rascal. I couldn’t say it that well. But yeah…chills.

BUFFALO/WILLIAMSVILLE CONCERT UPDATE from RAY!!
Ray, David’s tour manager just sent us this announcement.
Ray, David’s tour manager, just came outside at the Northampton, MA venue and asked to get the word out to the fan sites that no people should be lining up in Buffalo tomorrow before 3:00 pm. It’s going to be cold and nasty out and David is concerned about people getting sick. Ray said that he won’t let people line up before 3:00 tomorrow.
Now this, this, is just too much, just too much…*sniff*
Have any of you taken the survey at FOD about your concert experience? You can say what your favorite songs/performances were and what you want to be the next single(you can write in ZG if you want) There are also places where you can write comments. I commented that although Lesley Roy had a nice voice and I liked some of her songs, her band was way too loud and you couldn’t hear any of the words to the songs. I also said that David’s band and David (sound) were just perfect. I guess they had a different set up than Lesley’s band. Anyway, I did notice that in Allentown, Kendra’s mike appeared to be too loud. It was especially noticeable on TBWY and You Can. In Richmond, the balance between David and Kendra appeared to be much better. I guess we will just have to keep watching all these videos to find the “perfect” ones for each song. Lucky for me my husband is out of town for 5 days on business. YEA!! He was home on Friday and it has been a very LONG weekend. Thank you all for this website and for Rascal, who started it all at ND.
HG, Sorry to hear about your work situation today! How disappointing. You should get a ticket for another show. Snarky’s was advertising a ticket for tonight’s show.

David recorded Zero Gravity!!!!
http://www.sendspace.com/file/g40w6i
Freo! Thank you -- it sounds so good without the screaming.
It’s a snippet of the song. I wonder if it was an intentional label leak to gauge public interest, or someone else leaked the studio version?
Northampton jDer’s report:
Just spoke to dj and river. They are right in front of David’s mike, 12 inches from stage (dj says she can touch it.) She is so excited her voice is vibrating with glee! Venue is small, stage is small, similar in size to Albany (for those who went to Northern Lights Jingle Jam) and stage is about 3 ft off the floor.
Got there at 2pm w/21 ppl in line in front of them (some of whom got there at 9am--brrrr.) Got a little cold for the last hour in line outside but are now in venue, which she says is full. She says she and river almost didn’t go b/c of weather but she is glad they did b/c weather cleared and travel was ok. Tried to find Josie and Noni but no luck; will keep looking.
She has her awesome video camera in hand and says she is going to try to get all the performances — no flash according to the venue ppl but she doesn’t use a light with her camera. Says David to come on around 8:30 (starts at 7:30).
Lucky dj & river! Front and center, no heads bobbing in front…what a view! They must have great karma!!
Okay, I just was on the phone with my 26-year old son. Lives in Manhattan. I sent him the link to Zero Gravity in Richmond and the Medley in Sayreville. He said, “Wow, this kids on fire!” And he loved Zero Gravity. And….while he was watching the Medley he said, “God, David sings One better than U2.”
I’m happy now. LOL!
Guys! Noni and I are up on the platform to the right. Eli and Alex came by to chat with us before the show and I thanked them for getting David to loosen up and they said we were in for a treat.
. Also chatted with Kendra and she’s lovely. Really. I’m in my pink hat!!
So all have been accounted for? Arrived safely? I see JOSIE & NONI -- woot-woot!
RIVER & DJ -- pls TC of yourselves
David’s Bus -- arrived safely, thank goodness!
KNOTLISER -- thanks for bringing that review link. LOL that review is… LOL its a paean!
HG -- bummer w/ that office situation. Am with Marlie on this!
MARLIE 2:04 -- I knoooooooooow. With TBWY, I was in rapt attention when I was viewing it in the office. David took me somewhere else again. But when I watched it at home, I was crying my heart out and I don’t exactly know why! I think I do but… Just the same.
ANOTHER WARNING: Please proceed with caution when viewing Allentown’s TBWY, SOT & YC in one sitting. You may never get up! Look what happened to me. Was unable to post last night!
K have to go to work now!
Oh also davids soundchk was really good. He sounds like his voice is back to normal.
Josie -- Glad you got there safely. dj and river are stage center in front of the mike. A treat??? what more can there be!!! I am so excited for you and Noni and dj and river.
Kizzi. Can you email them and tell them to turnaround!! I’ll be up here waving like a nut!
Another night with no cellcast
Anyone know if there is one? Someplace?
Abrra
I think this is the one we’ve been waiting for — Lancaster Angels — close-up. David appears very emotional. I don’t think it’s been posted here yet.

Can’t email her; I left a message on her cell. She is about 5’3′ with blond hair, petite build; Mari is about same height w/auburn hair--most beautiful women in the front row!
josie,
try looking for ladies wearing hot pink scarves. They (river and dj) said that they will be wearing it , the same ones that we wore at sayreville courtesy of refnaf
Maybe once leslie (bless her really. Just not my cup of tea) is done I will be able to find them
thx guys!! Xo
Abraa, cellcast at Snarky’s
Snarky’s is having technical difficulties, so no cellcast so far.
Oh well. Guess I’ll watch some videos.
Wow, Stenocruiser! That Angels performance is absolutely brilliant!
Thanks for posting.
Cell cast is up, go to:
http://www.blogtv.com/People/anniefromtheeu
Be Still My Soul!
No cellcast? Is she just playing music? There’s no crowd sounds or anything?
Yeah Marlie, I’m not sure what’s going on as I’m not signed into the chat part. But that’s not live. I finally gave up.
Didn’t sound like a cellcast. I think the concert is about over anyway.
this from Snarky’s…
Update 6: From Josie: “You should see him dancing his little self all around that stage” and “This is cute. Noni brought 2 scarves for David and Eli delivered them and he’s wearing one. Nugget.”
Update 5: Apparently David’s voice is back to its full power. He’s going for a lot of notes he hasn’t dared to touch and he sounds really strong live. This is the first time since the first show. YAAAAAAAAAY YAAAAAAY YAAAAAAAY! YAY! YAY!
Update 4: Awwww, Jeff just went over to Josie’s mom and asked if she was Josie’s mom. Maybe David will try to touch her hand or something. <3 <3
There must not be a lot of people at the concert tonight due to the weather.
Hoping & praying for David & his tour family to have a safe trip back to Buffalo later tonight.
Good night to all who’s still here waiting for word from Northampton. For David..
Contigo siempre con amor!
Paul Anka mentions David again in March 2009, Sat Evening Post.
From Paul’s comment, I wonder if he actually contacted David’s mgt and was told that David wasn’t available.
http://saturdayeveningpost.com/Home-Life/paulanka.html
SEP: And now there’s the possibility of a Broadway show…. Do you have a performer in mind to play Paul Anka as a teenager?
Anka: Yeah, I like the young kid who was on American Idol [David Archuleta], but there would have to be someone else.
I never found river or dj but let me tell ya he was on fire. Lots to share tomorrow.
:::jumpin’up’n'downnnn!::: can’t wait!
TOMORROW! Josie, no!!!!!!!!
We are safely in Buffalo, I am sitting in the hotel lobby because the wife router signal is too weak for me to get a signal. I’m really tired from driving 400 miles, 200 of those through a blizzard.
I am about a mile from the venue.
We tried to check it out earlier, but it appears to be almost deserted. Maybe closed during the week…I don’t know.
Marley told me about the 3 pm line up…by request of David.
I plan on going over early, to check things out, they lined up very early for the venues that allow it.
I won’t get out of my car if I don’t have to. I figure, if I can get good parking, Keeley and I can take turns? If nobody shows up til later..that’s great..I’ll heed David’s request by not standing in the cold, but I don’t want to miss out on what could be my last opportunity to be this close to the magic…and lets face it..that’s what it is.
It’s a long drive from Mass to Buffalo… I hope he gets good rest.
It’s not snowing here… but brutally cold.
I won’t be able to log back in tonight, because I need to get a good night sleep. I imagine I’ll be weathering some cold air tomrrow, but I’ve brought plenty of layered clothing.
I want to hear the Voice… in it’s full state of fine health.
I’ll try to check in first thing before I take off down the street.
Have a great night everyone !!!!
Guys typong on my blackberry is a bit tortuous but I will try. There is so much to recall. He was beyond anything I’ve ever seen from him. Proud is such an understatement. I had great convo’s with Eli (who came and waited outside with Noni while I got the truck) and Alex and Jeff. Just grabbing a cup of tea.
Oh, Josie, I’m just kidding. I know it must be awful typing out this stuff on a handheld. We’ll live! LOL!
Josie,
“Beyond anything you’ve ever seen from him.” ???
What are we going to DO with that boy if he keeps getting better? I’m barely able to function after watching his videos now!
Get some rest. Thanks for keeping us posted on your blackberry.
Angelica. I am toast. I’ve been watching him for a year and his transformation is incredible.
More to come! Every age, men and women, boys and girls. Young middle old and old as dirt
Glad you had a great time Josie. Sure glad your mother came for this concert when David is back to his true form -- gah!
Rest easy and re-live the moments with your mom. She is waaayyyy cool.
The fruit just really don’t fall far from the tree
Look forward to your stories tomorrow JOSIE!
Hope DJ & River are safely tucked in their beds.
And DAWN -- better heed David’s request ok? We don;t want you catching frostbite or anything
CYL!
Josie and noni- can’t, can’t wait to hear details from you!…tell us whadyathink?
Can’t wait to hear more about tonight’s concert! Your comments are making Joner and I especially excited about Chicago. Josie, did you also get to talk with David?
good night all.
thanks for the fun.
Wow…
Just back to Hotel Northampton.
Flawless. Joyful. Perfection. R-e-a-l. David.
Am high. And sad at the same time that it’s over.
But it was just wonderful. And I got pretty up close…and I wasn’t expecting to…about 7 ft. from stage, dead center. Could see his every nuance. He was “feelin it”, crowd was so responsive (ROARING with love) and David so authentically relaxed and appreciative. David invites you into his joy of music, like in his living room. The kid redefines it all up there, his style.
I know I sound all “fangirl” and I’m way too tired to articulate..so writing off the top of my head and heart.
Only downfall was I had a complete “system breakdown” of technology…new batteries in camera died(?!) and new videocam didn’t work well(or I didn’t work it well),upon return, “empty camcorder” were the worst words of the night. Phone camera took a few “tiny bright spots” on stage. Owell. I’m hoping SOMEONE gets some videos uploaded to Youtube. But sigh…nothing…
nuuu-thing…not even that ruined this night.
I was “in the moment” and videos or not…will never forget.
Gotta thaw out and sleep now.
ps. I think this kid can redefine it all…no matter if he plays to each demographic, different times in different ways, (Care Bears and all)…I believe he’ll make it all work, and it’ll actually be cool. He’s not “above” any of it, and it’s not big enough to bring him down or define him. He’s solid. I felt faith in that (again) tonight. JMHO. We’ll see..
oops…Build A Bear? whateva’..same point. Time to sleep!!
Goodness.. the fruit doesn’t — obviously I need food already… haha
Just home from work and popping in for a minute to say hello. I cannot wait for the new vids. DJ is such a master now!
Work comes early so I’ll try to sleep. Maybe.
This old news by now, but I’ve been away for the weekend and tax season has me busy…
I just wanted to say that I had a blast at the Sayreville show. It was so cool to meet so many of you from my fantasy world! I was glad to have the company of Nina and her daughter for the drive from the City and it was great to meet up with happy and the gang and the girls from Canada!!! Songbird and her friend and I were right up front and it was pure magic! (I didn’t need those glasses after all!)
For what it’s worth, on Barriers, when there was that “pause…in the vocals” -- From where I was standing, it seemed clear that he was overwhelmed and utterly amused by the crowd and unable to speak. I don’t think he forgot the lyrics, he simply couldn’t sing them. It was beautiful to behold. And yes, the crowd was loving him.
Snarkys posted pictures at Northhampton…
White t-shirt, scarf and can not even find words to describe how good he looks in that gorgeous vest! Still no video.
They do have a video there of 4 different ZG performances that play at the same time that is amazing. And such a time saver! Can we have get that added to the Tour Reflections Marlie7?
Angelica…someone is still up!! I am taking my shift in our basement…the storm that hit Mass. is giving us rain and we have flooding…My husband has to fly to Newark in the morning so I will be up all night while the water is being taken care of!! I feel like saying poor me, so I will!! What next? Well,at least I have my pc down here while I empty water…major rainfall…I am going now to Snarkys to look for those pics…
I am thinking that I need to see a concert before SLC…
Bearing gifts…
Wanna hear a snippet of David-recorded ZG? Download from here

Then, X-factor is at it again: 4-stacked video of ZG from the 1st 4 shows (Virginia Beach (StarryNites01) Richmond (mcamy1)
Sayreville (djbell13) Lancaster(shereeeeeen); Audio from StarryNites01, remixed by X-factor

Hey Songbird
Don’t know if you’re here now, but I recently read your post about Sayreville and wanted to respond. So hopefully you’ll get to see this.
I had a great time at the show with you guys! As we all know, David does attract good people. It truly was a magical experience and I was thrilled to share it with you and your friend. Please pass my sentiments to her during your “daily updates”.
Who knows, maybe we’ll meet up again at a future David event.
I’m still reeling from last Thursday and would love to figure out a way to see him again toward the end of this US leg!
Well, a girl can dream, can’t she?!
home from Northampton. so many stories to tell. 2nd row, 3 feet from David… 3 words, beyond, beyond, beyond.
DJ shot it all again. all good things to follow tomorrow. Please, those of you going to Buffalo, David’s staff pleaded that fans not line up before 3 pm. He was very concerned today because fans stood for hours in the cold (us ) among others… so do heed his wishes. He’s really serious. Those of you going to future shows await something…. ummmmmmm… priceless.
Sandybeaches,
Good to know I’m not alone. Sorry about the crappy weather and flooding. You can say poor me. Want me to cry you a river? haha. Guess not.
I really need to go to bed but here I sit because I know if I don’t see the vids tonight I will have to wait till tomorrow night cause I can’t watch them at work. Decision, decisions. Sleep or David? OK. Just a little longer. You back from Snarkys SB? Going over to look.
And if anyone is interested in HD version of ALTNOY video, you could get it from here
[Waving to JesseQ!!!! You here, dear fella?!].
Warning though: it’s 170MB. HUGE I know! But so worth it cos you get to see even the color specks of his eyes, the # of laugh lines on his face… you know what I mean!
http://www.sendspace.com/file/lfrqzz
I posted a new page under Tour Reflections called Video Mashups. Post that new one (4 stacked) and one from Richmond. If there are others, just let me know. I’d like to move them off the other venue pages (which are getting so huge!)
SB -- that is a bummer! But at least you and family is safe
AND YOU — with a PC!
While emptying the water, why not play ZG? Haha!
I see pix from NorthHampton are coming in… courtesy of IRIS
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-OGkf-zUZYE/Say7VYe9sjI/AAAAAAAAFV4/ayy-C_a2Onk/s1600-h/david+solo+tour+1009+048.JPG
Ahh, I see them posted at Snarkies, too
Angelica…I am back from Snarky’s alright…Simply handsome…guess I will wait for more, a vid. would be nice…time on my hands anyway while bailing water…!!!!! Are you going to a concert soon?? I can’t keep everyone straight with their concert going…
OK. Back from youtube and snarkys empty handed. Off to bed so I can be well rested for the concert vids that are touted to be beyond..may need all the rest I can get for that.
Sleep is eluding me. I got back out of bed to watch Allentown TBWY. I was compelled to do it. That song is running through my head. I would’ve gotten out of bed for just the one note “waaaay”.
What is going on here? I am sitting here crying at the tenderness of it. I wish someone could tell me why I am feeling so affected by this.
Just sending this out into the night. Love you all.
betsy -- I totally get you.
marlie -- I’m glad someone does.
If my husband saw me sitting alone in our office, in the dark with nothing but the glow of the computer screen to guide my fingers and tears dripping down my cheeks, I know he would worry about my happiness. In truth, I am so very happy.
Betsy…when David’s cd first came out…TBWY was my favorite from day 1…I found it strange that no one was talking about it and it is so much the story of his life right now…and of course beautifully song with Kara who wrote it for him and obviously understood him…the words of this song can go through my head at any given moment…You can see how David is affected by songs and he often breaks out into song while talking to someone…It is beautiful, perhaps haunting…
Allentown WFY -- Love his smile when he DOESN’T say GO! and the fangirls sing it instead. haha!
oooops! here’s the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tdt9sfeun-M
In regards to TBWY…just a further thought…Although basically happy, when there are stresses in life that we are dealing with, our senses can be easily affected…worries give way to emotions…and tears..
I don’t know who is still up, but this is fun…watch Alex and Kendra dancing in the background.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7OX1o3fVS0
MARLIE, I was thinking, to make the Tour Reflections page easier on the loading time, perhaps we can just post the link?
In that way, those who want to download from youtube would cut a step -- that of double clicking a particular video?
Just my 2-cents worth.
Did you get to listen to the ZG snippet? I truly hope they release it soon as a single. Pleeeeaaase JIVE? If you know what’s good for you, ahem… just sayin…
BTW, how come it is being announced here that a back-to-back concert is coming up with the 2 Davids on May 16? He is still coming Apr 2-4 right?????
SB -- It’s haunting me now. And it was not one of my favorites from the cd. You Can was. But there is something about it now. It touches me. It’s breaking my heart. But in a good way.
JR: The tour pages actually load faster than the comments pages -- they are just long in length
I could post the links, but…nah, I like playing them while I’m sitting here and not having to jump all over youTube.
Back to back Davids? Same night? Different nights?
BETSY — wanna make your happiness runneth over? Listen to ZG snippet! Download link at 12:37
Am I by my lonesome again here?
betsy…I am expecting that this song will do very well…Do David’s fans ever sleep much? Maybe in the spring!!!
jackryan4da…where are you living? Definately not in our time zone…
marlie7…I don’t remember where you are either but you are also on the graveyard shift…
SB -- I have sleep issues! And work in exactly 71/2 hours.
Off, off topic. We have a new first tooth in the family! Go Adam! Five months old today.
betsy..OK…do you want some sleep help?
Way to go with the tooth Adam!! We have a grandson who will be five months old the end of March!!
One of my favorite moments tonight was during Zero Gravity when David, the band and most of the audience were all jumping up and down together. The joy was electric and mutual. I am in awe of how far he has come in such a short time. Rascal’s words cited earlier in this thread are so apropos. David was in fine voice, relaxed and totally in charge.
It is 12 degrees F out and my fingers can barely type, but I feel like the little girl in my avi happily making snow angels. Zero Gravity!
Sb -- Thanks. I think I’m feeling tired. I am going to try to sleep now.
Of coure, you know what will be looping through my head. I can’t get it out!

juliebug…that pic. of David in a pic. with his fans is so cool…as david would say…
I am here for the duration…bailing water on the graveyard shift of the rain storm…thanks to anyone who is still here…
OH MY GOSH! Look at the beautiful pictures on Mike K’s MySpace!
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=3233257&albumId=3045651
The baby is adorable, David is adorable…really nice pics…
Gah, that just makes me all shakey all over—David holding a baby… it kicks off my *I love men with babies* reflex…only on STEROIDS!…aauuggghhh! *THUD!*
Hey, I’m still here with you guys, too. I’m watching vids in between finishing a presentation for Wednesday. Have to finish it tonight so I can go to BUFFALO!
Yes, I’m in the Northeast, so I’m as nutty as the rest of you up at this hour.
Pictures are so cute!
juliebug -- love the D + baby, and the D + crowd. Sweeeet!
I imagine that this site will light up with news when you are in Buffalo…not as interesting as doing a presentation…but most would have laughed…just emptied the shop vac of rain water…caught it on my housecoat and spilt the whole container over myself…anyway…I am surfing for any new vids that are coming alive…and snackin down…have to have a few rewards for my labor…
So……vermeer/Jeanne/d’arc has been working on a little surprise for all of us. Should be visible soon, or at least by tomorrow morning!!!
Hi, jackryan4da, I also heard that DA and Dc will have a concert at MOA on May and it will be produce by Jo Marie Yllana I think Kris Aquino announce it in her TV show. I hope it is not true coz I want to attend a concert of DA only, if it’s true I might not attend their concert, I am sorry to say this but I just can’t bear seeing DA on the same stage with DC, forgive me but I don’t know why, I cannot even bear to watch when they replay the final result of AI 7 where they announce cook as winner, DA is smiling but I feel like crying. I really, really hope to attend a DA concert minus Cook.
P.S. I will email you soon.
4:00am in Nova Scotia…so glad to have the company…Liz…are you out west? Surely you must be to be here so late…
Woot!! I’ve been waiting up late to see the new header. Gorgeous!!! Vermeer/Jeanne/d’arc, you do good work, my friend!!!
Doesn’t that look cool! Way to go Vermeer!
WOW…my favorite pic…and looking again i see the music notes…classy…
Okay, I’m off to bed. And then shuffling off to Buffalo!
LIZ!!! I wanna see it!! Vermeer, where are you???
Gorgeous! The header! LOVELY! (in a highly *thuddy* kinda way!)
Well, I don’t have the expertise to work on the site but I have something colorful in store that I am going to contribute on the day of his last concert in SLC…it will be my thanks to all who have worked so diligently over the last while to put this together and keep it growing…can’t tell though because I don’t want it to leak and someone else copy…
DJ has come through!! SOT Northampton!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrQ9vn9Pitk&feature=channel_page
Did you all go to bed? Silly goose that I am, I didn’t know the header went up. Marlie and I were having trouble with the file not getting to her right from my home email, so tried sending it through the work webmail and subsequently Marlie replies to me there (why not right?) and I’m sitting here checking my home email wondering what happened. Finally it dawns on me to check the work email. Big duh! and it’s up now, or have been up!
beebee!!! Hi!!! Liz, I know, I have an identity crisis. Kinda going back to vermeer I think…
Good night lovely people!
The new header is gorgeous. As gorgeous as the subject and as gorgeous as the people working on this site.
justDavid. justGorgeous. Woohoo!!!!!
DJ — OhMyHeck -- you are at it again! Glad that you guys are OK. Please some stories people.
DA is wearing a VESSSSSSSST. thud.
(meanwhile he wails: It feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeels so good) double thud.
{{{Jeanne D’Vermeeeeeeer}}}
Very cool, classy header, m’dear. Trés, trés!
*running back to SOT vid*
wow beebee~ you are FAST…
SOMEBODY OUT THERE..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrQ9vn9Pitk
Hiya beebee! You are up late tonight as well as a few of you guys. Glad you like the header. The justDavid administrators chose this one out of a few others. They are the classy ones.
Good night for real this time. Sleepy… dfLIZ, thanks for having stayed up!
WAITING FOR YESTERDAY……Northampton
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59M3Axiunb8
Dj-i am so sad we didn’t connect. I was up on the platform to the right with Noni. I cannot wait for your videos. You were SO close!
Beebee are you still up??
Good morning all! First, the new “Just David” header: super hot!
Djxox, that WFY video is full of win! David is super sexy in vests, what can I say?
Guys, I realize I was feeling so down yesterday, but today I’m at peace with how things turned out. In the end, I’m feeling good with myself and the choices I made (thanks, SF, for recognizing this).
I’m confident the event that I organized, which premieres tonight, will be a success. The intended audience will be empowered by it, and even if I’m not getting support from my colleagues, I’ve already decided that it’s bigger than them and even bigger than me.
Following David this past year, I’m going to learn to exercise the same patience and transcend the nonsense because, just as David realized his music was so much bigger than what American Idol would allow (and even what they could imagine) sometimes you have to look past the BS and gaze at the bigger picture.
No more will I be feeling bad for missing David last night or even tonight. Especially when I’ve got such devoted Archies here and elsewhere who are so generous in sharing the magic that is David Archuleta Live! It just wasn’t meant to be this time around. And, with my recent overseas trip, sorry folks, but I really don’t have the budget now to try and see David on this particular solo tour.
I’m not even going to be bummed about that because, if there is anything I’m fully realizing -- watching these latest videos -- is that David is going to be back on stage again. Maybe for the summer, maybe around Christmas time. Who knows? He’s enjoying himself too much to not grace us with his presence once again.
I’ve got the patience to wait (I already said I’m giving myself 7 years --
-- right?). Of course, this waiting makes the one concert experience I have had that much more precious.
To those of you in or heading to Buffalo, stay safe, and stay warm.
Hearing about David putting his fans’ health first by discouraging them from lining up in the cold, what can I say?
DAVID IS LOVE!
DJ-can you email me? Let me know.

He did it again.
“What I wouldn’t give to feel that waaaaay”.
Dead again.
His voice is stronger than I’ve EVER heard it.
Waaaahh!! Tried and failed to wait up for videos last night and then got up this morning to watch Northampton. Love them all but…where is ZG, Northampton? Where is David jumping up and down with the band and the crowd and wearing HRH vest? Now I must wait till I get home and whoever can watch it, let me know how he did. Maybe I can pull it up on my cell phone later.
I have a serious addiction to watching David perform and sing that song. I have to have it everyday and if anyone tried to take my ZG fix away, I would THROW DOWN!
Me, too! ZG every day -- several times!

good morning all~
let me just say ..I could do THAT ..every night..!!
all vids are in progress!!
beebee 3:54 and djxox (love your name BTW) Thanks for SOT. A bit of pure sweetness first thing in the morning!
SF -- yes, I’m on the west coast.
I love how we have round-the-clock ArchieLove here, east coast, central, mountain, west coast, Philippines, Australia! Any places I’ve missed?
I meant SB I’m on the west coast.
I’ll be able to update the Tour pages until about 10:00 this morning. Then I have a call and as soon as that is over, I’m out of here on my way to Buffalo to meet up with dawn65, Bluebarsa, Tofan, refnaf and manitobaskyline. It’s bitter cold, so I hope we don’t freeze our butts off waiting in line (oh, but it will be worth it).
Woo hoo! I’ve been waitin’ so long…
This is a short clip, but excellent -- shows David and Mike K. jumping around on stage to Zero Gravity
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za64YzOYlVE
dj -- Did you get any sleep? Are you still floating in zero gravity? Your first videos are excellent.
What is the make and model of your camera again--it is excellent?
marlie7 -- I’ll be there with you in spirit!!!
Found this on a video of Northampton:
“700 screaming tweens sound like this …. If the pentagon finds out they may try to weaponize this phenomenon. 3 tickets -- $79… Pink David Archuleta t-shirt -- $35 … seeing adults you know there who don’t HAVE to be there (i.e. no kids) -- priceless. ”

Share your love of David in a haiku! (Why not??)
Create a haiku (1st line:7 syllables, 2nd line:5 syllables, 3rd line:7 syllables) and sent it to justDavid via the Comments box.
We’ll put it in the Random ArchuPoetry widget. Woot!!!

“I’m just looking forward to spending time with my fans,” he said. “I don’t care how big the stage is.”
(sigh)
WOW…TBWY…the best video yet…Northampton…
Thanks marlie7…on the way by now I am sure…

Can somebody out there help me??
Someone once posted a link to something called
VLC media player? Can you post it again, please.
HG 631--Thanks--you’ve helped me put alot of crap that has gone on at my work into perspective. My husband keeps telling me to let it go, but it just keeps eating at me. Thanks for your way of looking at it the way David would. I’m going to do the same. You know, I’ve really tried to adopt his positive way of looking at the world over the last year, and I’ve been able to make it happen for the most part. It seems, however, when my employment comes onto my scene, it’s hard. I’ll keep trying.
vermeer--the header is gorgeous! How could it not be with the subject matter involved

TBWY
JULIEBUG -- thanks for posting that ARTVOICE interview.
“…it would appear that by way of good old-fashioned talent, Archuleta the musician is here to stay.”
THIS.
still out there emotionally.. that was such an amazing experience that I’m having trouble processing it. I felt part of the performance being so close..watching the band laugh and interact… jumping around… singing along…looking him in the eyes as he sang so perfectly. I would not change a single thing..even the long wait in the cold. DJ was the best of company and the ride home flew by. now to watch the vids is heaven. Even Mike K is going to go ck out the Sayerville ZG vid of DJ’s after DJ told him the response. They love the feedback. And we love Ray who told us a lot of neat stuff about the tour and the future. cool guy. I have a couple of neat photos that I don’t know how to post.
http://www.snarkyarchies.com/2009/03/bahahahahaha-yes.html
tee hee!
There’s more on Mike K’s myspace since last night. I’m ROFL!
juliebug 1241,
Thanks for that link. I feakin LOVE his new band!! I hope they stay with him. What I can’t figure is that some said before the tour began that this may just be temporary and then they have to get back to what they were doing before. HELLO!!?? I hope whoever that was, Mike? has changed his mind after seeing the reactions of fans on this tour. Opportunities like this come only once in a lifetime, to work onstage in the spotlight with someone who is headed for international superstardom. If I was a musician and was given this chance, wild horses couldn’t drag me off this bus!!
river992 1221,
“Even Mike K is going to go ck out the Sayerville ZG vid of DJ’s after DJ told him the response.”
Yes! Sayerville ZG performance ftw! He needs to be encouraged to brang it just like that! Oh yes.

dj -- thanks so much for doing this…my deepest & heartfelt gratitude!!
SACRILEGE
You know, I can understand the screaming and flailing during fast or livelier numbers. But how can you even dare squeak during TBWY?
Do these people really think that shouting ‘i love you’s’ during a serious, lofty song, especially at points which clearly requires David’s concentration, convinces him that he is indeed more loved?
Isn’t giving David time & space to concentrate on such a heavenly song is a far deeper demonstration of that love? That as he is poised to concentrate, he is given due concentration?
Do they really think that they are helping David at all by doing so? There is enough time towards the end to shout till kingdom come; till they are hoarse to the heavens!
It is not even about manners. It is about respect -- giving worth to an artist’s or beloved’s work. Allowing David to be heard cos that is what he came for.
S.h.a.m.e.
Kudos to the Lancaster audience for giving David what is due him.
river and dj -- I’m still in a fog and my mom is totally in an Archustupor. I cannot wait for dj’s other vids…the sound quality is simply awesome. I will need help from someone so I can download the videos and hopefully make a dvd for my mom.
David’s music and perhaps even moreso, his fans make such a lasting impression on people. We were seated with a few other folks in wheelchairs, one in particular right next to my mom. His name is Michael and he has terminal liver cancer (only 30-something). He told me that he tried to get a ticket to the show, but that it had already sold out. He was heartbroken (he was in tears telling me this story) and decided to put a request to some of the fanbases. Within a few hours he had emails and phone calls from people offering him a ticket. You could see and feel how overwhelmed he was with the experience. David’s tour manager came over to explain he would do his best to bring David out to meet him and Michael was completely overjoyed at the thought of it. David’s magic extends to so many. I’m so proud of not only David, but of all of us. Thank you to the angel who provided the ticket and gave Michael the gift of David Archuleta.
I’m just getting home and need to process what happened at the Pearl Street Nightclub. Just when I think I can’t adore him any more than I already do, I do. He makes me.
kizzi~ it is my pleasure..
just a note~ the above Barriers and Entrance/Touch My Hand you have credited to me are not mune..mine are coming..
ZG is next..
Angelica 1:07~ just love that Mike K…what a great guy..I asked him what he fed David for breakfast the day of the Sayreville concert because he was on FIRE!!..he laughed…
kizzi~ mine not ..mune..
I am loopy today,sorry
dj: Someone embedded your SOT video from Northampton and ZG video from Sayreville in comments on MikeK’s Myspace page!
JR4DA: I see both sides of the screaming…I’d love to hear him sing without the distraction; however, I believe that most of the people screaming aren’t doing it willfully…it just erupts without thought, like an autonomic stimulus and response sequence. I have been to his concerts with friends and family who have never screamed or shouted “I love you” during a performance and they have, oh my, they have.
And my first time seeing David in Glendale, I was hoarse at the end of his 4 songs and I literally don’t remember yelling, yet I did, nor singing along, yet I did as I have videos as proof. I never did that before, ever. Shameful yes, and now that I’ve been to several concerts, I show proper appreciation but that first show or two is just an extreme life experience. It seems, at least in the USA for teens, tweens, screaming is part of the concert culture.
I wonder if it bothers him? or if it seems part of the concert experience for him at this point?
Josie: I am so excited that you and your mother had such a wonderful experience. The story of Michael is truly heart wrenching and poignant.
I heard somewhere in the cyber-grapevine fan world that David wore a scarf that was gift from your mother. True?
jr4da,
Agree. Oafs.
Josie,
Just read on the GA site someone posted their experience at Northampton. She said she left the mosh pit to stand on an elevated section on the side where there were several handicapped people in wheel chairs. She said there was a girl in a wheel chair who was obviously mentally impaired and whenever David started to sing her face just lit up.
When angels sing, people should be silent. At least for the ballads.
David has already learned the fine, subtle art of making his concert experience one of shared friendship, rather than mere performance. The audience isn’t just watching and listening, they are interacting, relating, and in the very best sense , “hanging out” with David. David’s talents are numerous, but it is his unmatched warmth and message of welcome to everybody that make his concerts a “must-go”. When he sings, all the beauty of the universe becomes evident, euphoria and friendship fills the room, and it’s as if everyone is hugging everyone. This is the power of David’s essential goodness He’s magnificent. That’s all there is to it.
kizzi,
Oh lol! I didn’t mean to call you an oaf! Just the girls that scream and shout “I love you” or talk during the slow songs. I know all about the inabiliy to control the screams, especially on those high notes and upbeat numbers. I was hoarse after the 2 AI shows I attended. Peace out.
dj -- I’ll look at the Tour Reflections and fix later. Several of us are posting on that tab so wires may have gotten crossed.
Josie~ you can email me..kizzi and happy have my email.they can give it to you or send me yours ..
I am uploading all my videos today..it takes a long time..grr
I think I saw you arrive with Mom..was not sure though.Did you have a pink/white baseball hat on..blue vehicle??.looked for you inside but I figured you would be on one of the elevated areas. We we right up front as you can tell by my vids..glad to hear your Mom had a great time..he was spectacular last night…what a thrill!!
This was lovely, I brought it over to the newer comments so everyone could see it. (((bliss)))

bliss “euphoria and friendship” Nice!
Whether in person or muted through the videos, there’s an almost painful feeling of tenderness. A sweetness and a yearning that pulls at you, confuses you, makes you want more.
Sigh….
Am not talking of shrills and screams between pauses. It is when the i love you’s compete with his singing that grates me.
I mean even in rock concerts -- and you can imagine how rowdy the crowd can get in those -- when the performer slows down so to speak, the audience follows.
When a friend wants to boogie, we dance along. When a friend wants to talk, we listen. That’s all what am saying.
End of rant.
jackryan4da at 2:13pm -- trying to catch up -- although it’s very hard -- but I agree with you -
I just finished watching twice TBWY from Richmond, VA and it is stunning, beautiful until we have to hear girls competing “I love you’s” and who “loves him more” while David is sooo focused and into the song -- UGH !! I don’t mind screams and understand them fully but when vocals interfere with a stunning performance it’s just makes it harder for us to stay focused on David’s voice -- but I DO -- and I often wonder how does David do it? If he can do it I guess so can I.
KIZZI @ 1:58 -- I usually send this matrix to Marlie as a reference for most vids we post here and eventually embedded in the tour reflection page.
It is hardly definitive but hope this helps

Thanks JR -- it is gorgeous!
dj-yes, you saw me! I was in a blue truck completely parked like in the middle of the street trying to maneuver a wheelchair in slushy unplowed snow. I really wish I’d gotten the chance to say hi -- but since I wasn’t sure you were you, it might have been sketchy to walk up to some random person and say “Hi, I’m Josie with the pink hat”…LOL -- believe me, I’m glad you stayed where you did. Your videos are such sweetnesssss!
I will email the gals for your addy -- I have a quick question offline.
I’m still pretty foggy….My mom wanted to go to Buffalo today. I know her limitations. I (very, very sadly) said no.
Liz? I think it was you who asked for haiku. Anyway, I tried. It is my first time to do this. Three lines consisting of 7, 5, and then 7 syllables is not as easy as it sounds. But for you, I make haiku.
Here is the voice that enters
Closed hearts open wide
He steps over the threshold
Good morning everyone, just woken up. it is now 6:43 am here in Sydney
I do have a new megaupload,my new favourite : My hands (from lancaster concert)
With this video, aside from that acappela at the end of the song (which is to die for) and audience participation ( clapping to provide the music) , almost throughout the entire song, David was SMILING. The look of happiness on his face.
For me, the smile was so infectious just like his dancing and bumping (in his fast songs) that I was smiling with him.
If you want to start your day happy, please include this video from your list.
Enjoy!!!!!

My hands (as David said, too many hands on his album, but make “this hands” unique and distinct from the other). I must say a standout in this tour….
{{{Josie}}}
{{{Bliss}}} Magnificent. Oh yes. Amen.

ZERO GRAVITY….Northampton
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF0Mw_IleBo
Hello everyone -- I will be going to the Infinity show later this evening. Wanted to let you know I briefly saw David at a shopping center(in Williamsville) about an hour and a half ago. He was there for the Meet and Greet sponsered by the radio station KISS 98.5. He had lunch at a restaurant called Sole’ and then went onto a clothing store to pick out (I think) what he was going to wear tonight. One lucky caller into the radio station got to be there with his stylist! I didn’t get any photos, and was only able to say “Hello”! I wasn’t part of the M&G, so I had to leave…Haha, after I spent $200 in clothing for myself, too. David looked well and in his usual good spirits and lots of smiles.
had technical difficulties uploading that ZG..not very clear will redo later..ARCHUBOUNCE in OVERDRIVE on this one..WOOT !!..too funny
{{vee60}} <-- plenty’o'LOVE for you, TOO!
:::downloading:::
I forgot to say, the audience was with the song, singing with him, .If you see him looking up, he was not looking up to heaven , he was looking up to the other audiencse at the other levels, “just to say , I KNOW YOU ARE WITH ME”)
Now I was about to share and upload Angels. I do have a few versions some from the concert but also of the famous acappella of New Orleans (with him praying). Concert versions have their own special moments. but i love the Angels of Lancaster ( THE voice sours),but all other versions are also too die for (from VA, Richmond, Sayreville and Allentown , nothing yet from Northampton).
I can upload all the versions, but tell me which one you want first…. While everyone is think, I will start to upload first The New Orleans versions, one of my favourite ……
OK this is better..in high quality..
ZERO GRAVITY..

Angelica -- beautiful words:
“Here is the voice that enters
Closed hearts open wide
He steps over the threshold”
Thank you.
All I can say is just wait til you hear MH and Angles from last night too…warning
Kizzi and Happy- sent reflections to you and a couple of photos to Kizzi. Wishing I were doing it all over again tonite. now I know how groupies feel.
When David decides to move you, no suit of emotional armor can protect you, and you’d be foolish to think otherwise. Most powerful people use their power to control and manipulate others. David uses his power to uplift, heal and empower others to feel good about themselves. If you surrender to him, this will happen every time. It never fails. If you’re feeling badly in any way, look at any one of his videos, and I promise you that you will be grounded and feeling better almost immediately. If you’re really feeling bad, watch him sing “Love Me Tender” or “To Be With You.” As for “Somebody Out There”, it’s like electro shock treatment for the soul, and should never be viewed or heard standing up or while driving.
As for Zero Gravity, everyone should watch it at least once a day. It’s like taking a 1-a-day joy pill.

As promised, Angels sang in Now Orleans by an Angel.
WARNING>>>>>>>>>>>>
DJ will wait for the Angels of Northampton to add to my collection. Do you you have MY Hands…please. Thanks in advance

warning!!..
we just gotta stoooooppppp..lip quivers at 2:49…I JUST DIED !!
Angelica: LOL, just read your post. I am a “shameful oaf” at times when at a David concert. I admit it…I’ll try to do better…hmmmm….so that means I have to practice….and practice means I have to go to more concerts…awwwwwww….HOORAY for me, another reason to go…to work on my weaknesses…thanks for giving me a good reason that I HAVE to go to more David concerts—hahaha.
Also, Angelica, a gorgeous haiku.
We have so many talented, creative ppl on jD. I have had this idea for a while that we could create a “justDavid Art Gallery” tab with a link to our prose, our poetry, our art (be it graphics, drawings, watercolors, oils, acrylics, etc.) and of course we have our blogs and videos and pixs. Nath had given David a wonderful book full of creativity a while back, remember--wouldn’t it be wonderful to have it scanned and part of the “justDavid Art Galery” a thought….
The “Barriers” video from Northampton is so good it’s not even funny. His confidence, the audience reaction to his slightest gesture, and, of course, his voice, combine to create ,IMHO, the most professional and charismatic performance of the tour so far. If he keeps this up (and he will), the “opening” act for his next tour will be Tony Bennett.
kizzi -- love the art gallery idea!

I’m sending out a call for David-inspired haiku (1st line:7 syllables, 2nd line:5 syllables, 3rd line:7 syllables).
If you want to keep your poetry a surprise, send it to me via the Contact page and I’ll put it in line for the Random ArchuPoetry box.
Thanks Angelica, lovely!
I got my Japanese David album today! It is interesting to look at the artwork and Japanese translations of the songs and David’s notes. I have not listened to “Save the Day” yet. I will wait until I have some time alone.
River has posted her beautiful reflections of her center stage Northampton concert extravaganza, complete with pictures! Not to be missed, simply beautiful!
Click here for the Northampton Tour page for Rivers review and all dj’s videos to date are also posted--just scroll down the page for a plethora of goodies!

Sorry if this has been posted previously. “Farrah’s First rock show” Remember the little girl that David was holding, that was Mike’s little cute girl. A video supposedly made by her.
Enjoy, looove the pics and comments…..with ALTNOY music
it is like the recap of the first concert…..she is really so cute. She is a groupie…… She might had a kiss from Mr David
As I posted about two weeks ago, I have posted on Noting David as GrammyC a few times--have decided to go with a new name for Just David. Thank you so much for this site and for all the videos. I can’t make it to any of David’s concerts--SOB SOB. I don’t know how survive without being able to come here and read all your wonderful accounts of the concerts, they make me feel as if I were there.
ABBRA --hope you read this, you said you wanted a Japanese CD, well it is on its way, my son is getting me five --so I may have three to spare. He should return from Japan at the end of next week.
Thanks once again for all the hard work in setting up this site.
HOW ‘BOUT THAT ZERO GRAVITY--there’s that tingly feeling again, I only feel it when David sings.
David was on fire in Northampton. “Touch My Hand” killed. David might be living in Graceland by Easter.
new post up -- click past the “Chat” post to get to it. Txs
BLISS! “…David might be living in Graceland by Easter.”
You should see me smiling now! Love it!
That TMH -- whatta!
DJ & VEE -- I reiterate my appreciation for the 2 of you for providing the daily dosage of ODD sustenance. Please make sure I know if you are around my area
SB -- this is such a delayed reply but I am from Manila, Philippines. My time zone is similar to VEE that’s why it seems we are up almost always
dakgal 601
Thank you for remembering me! I do want a Japan CD. Email me at alphawav@comcast.net so we can work out details? WOW!
Abrra
Betsy…Been keeping your son in my prayers!
I know there are so many fans who can’t get to a show this tour and I know that I already went to Sayreville so I should be thankful. But, my ODD is so out of control now that I wish I’d gotten tickets to an additional show. It’s not gonna happen since either they’re sold out or at locations that I can’t get to. I think my family wonders why I keep listening to the same songs over and over, clueless to the fact that the videos I’m watching are from a different show each night! Duh! LOL
Only diehard fans like us are able to notice how fast David is progressing, on this tour alone. The tour isn’t even half over. and he already has complete command of the stage and the audience, at times, rocking it out like a rockstar.
David brings me so much joy that sometimes I can’t contain myself. The gift of his smile after every song is sheer bliss!
Speaking of Bliss, your comment at 5:17 about Tony Bennett…LOL..You ain’t kidding!
