Sneaking away from my pile of work (hey, gotta finance my ArchuAdventure Tour!) to catch up... too excited to work anyway... just got my Allentown tix in the mail...eeeeeeeeeeee!!! Sorry, having a moment.

Kizzi "this particular thread feels like a bubbling, thermal, salt spring full of heart, soul and the beyond," sooo true! And samsfan ROTFL!
Nice to see you back JesseQ!

And thanks HG for the freestylin' link... is there anything David cannot do? (Except drown in the pleasure of his own voice the way we all do? :) )

Sandy Beaches #72 - I completely agree with you. No tomatoes ever . . but I think we are expecting too much . . he just barely turned 18. In Mormon culture, that doesn't mean a whole lot. They might go away to school for a semester or two, but then most boys go on a 2 year mission for the church at 19 yo. That's when the boys seem to grow into men . . it doesn't seem to go by how old he is. Just kind of a culture thing. David has said he doesn't know if he'll go on a regular church mission . . he's already on a mission of sorts and has touched so many people . . but for most young men around here - they grow from boy to man on their missions. (19 - 21 yo)

About Jeff . . I think Jeff will fade away when it's the right time. (Now I'm ducking the tomatoes.) The two times I've noticed him on the stage were at NYE - and it was full of all kinds of people, not just Jeff - the whole family and lots of friends were there and it was really casual.. . just a big party. Then on the "porch" in Florida . . and it looked to me like he was trying to find a corner, but there just wasn't one. JMO

Rascal - LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture. It says it all!

#73, 74, 75 - It has been many years since I thought about the old hymn, "Brighten the Corner Where You Are," one of my long-departed dad's favorites. That video of David freaking out when he hears himself sing Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" reminded me. I don't think I have ever seen a better corner-brightener than David.

I'm totally amazed, though why I should be, of the development of David that has happened during these radio gigs. I can remember a time that David was a "space case" (only in the nicest sense) when he was put in the hot seat.

Now, he really seems to be enjoying himself. Puts everything out there and really doesn't seem to Give a dang about how he is perceived by the listening public. He really is comfortable, now, in his own skin. His vocabulary has improved, he is so much more relaxed, he loves laughing at himself, and most of all he isn't afraid to be the "nerdy" kid we have all grown to love and admire.

Also, I can't get over that he can sing a song (kareoke) without sheet music or hearing himself and that he is pitch perfect and note on. Wow, what a gift!

Yes....I saw that whole interview and he got to sing I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. FOD has the instruction on how to get the archive of that interview. He sang it so well...would make his idol proud. Too bad he did not finish it..would have made a lovely addition to my mp3 collection of David. Here's how to get that interview:

David (somewhat surprisingly) appeared in-studio on WILD 95.5 in West Palm Beach this morning. There is video to be watched, but you’ll need to follow these directions. Becky is working on ripping it to post, but in the meantime here is what you need to do to watch it live.

Go to WILD 95.5 Webcam page
You will see this under the video. Click on “camera 2.”
A new screen will load. Along the bottom of the video screen you will see a little box that looks like this: This is the “archive” box. Click on it.
In the box where there is a time located, type in either 9:01 to see when David first gets on camera, or 9:38 to see the “I’m Yours” karaoke!!!! GOOO! He changes “da@* you’re free” to “THEN you’re free.” Well played.

One minute I'm crying watching the Sacramento version of You Can because he sings, well you know. Then I pop over to Snarkies and they have a clip of David freaking out when he here's himself sing Jason Mraz' I'm Yours recorded from earlier in his interview at the radio station and I'm ROFLMAO. Snarkies has an MP3 of his whole interview. Very funny, and archudorable

lotus_b...thanks for the information in regards to the video. i watched it and it was great to see...

I wonder from all that is written if we are putting a lot of expectations on David? He once said that the expectations were building and that it makes him more nervous before performances.

I believe that he is wonderful and we are so lucky to have him in our lives but are we embarassing him possibly by placing him on a pedestal? Can we show our true feelings by being there without expectations? I know that we are protective and want the best but he is being protected and taken care of. I think that sometimes we don't know all that surrounds a video and we see something that is not in place and we worry but give credit to David that he is incontrol...of course nothing is ever perfect in everyone's eyes...

I would hope that we can put him at ease even if just for a moment...He wants to still be a young person and maybe it is a word to everyone, a hint, that with the older age comes the maturity. After all, he just said that he still likes comic books!!!

I'll start ducking the tomatoes any time now...

Your so welcome Angelica! David's eyes in that video really struck me as well and I often get lost in the song and find myself just staring into his eyes and at his face. As if I don't most of the time...

Anyway, I hope you enjoy watching the performance again. It's a wonderful reward at the end of a long work day!
