It’s a marvel the world keeps spinning
Sometimes I wonder how
The angels must be winning
In spite of what we humans still allow.
What passes for a good idea
Just amazes me
And how it’s wrapped and sold to us

And along comes David,

highervibe ~ I love reading your posts. This poem is just so right on! I just saw David in Pomona two nights ago and I’m still processing it. The picture of David you chose is one of my very favorites. He is so beautiful he’s almost pretty. I said before there is nothing about him I don’t LOVE. I think David IS LOVE personified. At the concert David said his little speech about not pushing forward because of the little kids. My daughter who is not afflicted with ODD said “Oh my gosh. He’s like Jesus! He’s so perfect!” That gave me a chuckle. She also said he’s got he best voice in the world. Not that I didn’t already know that. Anyway, keep writing your great poems. You’re very talented!

Apparently, producers love the “added drama” of the Judges Save while conveniently ignoring the absolutely mean, bullying, torturous effect of this tactic. Just when I thought they couldn’t sink themselves lower, they just take another tumble. *SMH.*
As I said, thank God David is not apart of this debacle, even though we will all tune in to see him perform in May.

There is TRL plaid then there is Buffalo plaid. I prefer the former. Why he wears shirts with rolled sleeves is a mystery. He has to tug at them constantly. A cuff roll is quite enough.
Like I say, he can be naked and the song might still be as sweet.

Hey Ab.. no honey.. I just got to the office now. I posted before I left. It was interesting commuting in the snow on the first day of spring.
About the sleeve cuffs.. watch David.. I don’t think the cuffs are what bothers him.. he’s always yanking or pulling at something.. it’s a habit. As risky as it is on an early sunday morning.. take a peek at the duluth videos again.. I remember telling you that he spent half the night tugging at his sweater.
It’s his hands.. they can’t be idle.. he’s gotta be doing something with them 8)

Sound like we need a sticky with various downloading and ripping information. We all know we MUST carry David around 24/7 on our devices.

We should have a tech lesson Abrra.. I don’t know if I’d be able to do it until I got home. I’m trying to just pop in and out throughout the day. I don’t have access to any POP3 emails from work (we under heightened security everywhere) so I try not to log on too long. Our servers are quite .. crafty.. so I tread lightly right now.
Maybe we can schedule a techy chat ? I’d love some tips from HG .. I would SO love to try my hand at doing a video..but without her skillz..I’m afraid I’d just be shooting myself in the foot.

HigherVibe, I was grabbed by the beautiful photo on your blog and then read your poetry which expresses so well what we all feel about our amazing David and his magical Voice. His music has been such a great comfort to me the last few days.

Re. a topic from the last thread: In the video where the radio station ladies make reference to the “old lady” and call the fans “crazies” -- I know some of those folks. While my friends didn’t like the name calling, they got a big chuckle out of it just the same. Also, the radio lady w/the curly hair who escorts David down the stairs is actually a mom of three; her oldest is 16. This may explain why she didn’t spazz over David.

HIGHERVIBE -- Aweseome post! You’ve added a little culture to our site with that one!
I was reflecting last night on our “David wardrobe” conversations. I think it’s hysterical how our love of David has us conjuring up conspiracy theories (myself included) about outside forces that might be clamping down on his clothes decisions.
A lot of us perceive David’s choice of more conservative clothes, especially when it follows a performance where he’s worn something more form-fitting, as evidence that “someone” is telling him his attire is inappropriate.
When you look back through a lot of his interviews, I think David actually gives us a clue to what’s going on. He has stated that (especially when he was younger) he was a chubby, awkward, dork that didn’t know how to wear his hair right. He has also stated that when he looks in the mirror he doesn’t see what we see.
I think the answer could be quite simple. What we are witnessing is a kid who is struggling to feel comfortable in his new skin. I think he’s trying out new styles, but in his mind he still views himself as a chubby, awkward dork and all the clothes tugging may just be his own unease at wearing stuff that reveals his physique more than he’s used to and when he feels uncomfortable he temporarily returns to more conservative clothing.
My husband, who was a former chubby child, says the fat image of yourself never completely goes away, especially if you were teased about it when you were younger. David may have taken some ribbing about his weight when he was younger and maybe this is all that’s going on.

HigerVibe -- I am a huge fan of your poetry. This is simply stunning. If you haven’t sent “The Alchemist” in to jD for our poetry archives, please do so. I so love that one.
Joner -- I like your theory. I think in many ways David is a mirror of sorts reflecting back to us, the viewer, our wishes and visions of him interspersed with who he is now and they don’t always jive--ahahahaha.
I keep reminding myself that he is a very youthful 18 year old and, obviously, at least to me, is hanging on to his youth hood with feet fully dug in. It is fun on one hand to see someone who goes for it with gusto and, yet, keeps true to what they value at the moment--takes a lot of guts to do that.
And, I keep reminding myself he is going to be 25 in 7 years; and, a more polished human being just by virtue of the highly varied life experiences he is jetting through, and, also the various levels of artistry that will have emerged by then. So, I have made up my mind to enjoy the NOW of David as it is fleeting…when I think of the David on AI a mere year ago to today, on tour, I am in awe. His ability to learn and grow is tremendous. It is about the journey, after all but I sure do get impatient.

that’s how I see things, also with David. He must be using this as his ‘nervous pill’. I swear the man/boy never stops. He must really crash when he sleeps. Here we are speculating on why David tugs at his clothes. lol He really is doing an inside job with all of us. Love it tho’. I love the rewiring that’s been done on me, and I know I’m not alone in this thought.

I’m on the fence with the wings. As a representation of what David represents..and all that he believes in.. I think it’s very appropriate.
Using “Angel” as a euphamism..and not an actual “entity”… is another thing.
He is very much human..
It’s important to remember that above all else…David is human.. he’s not a neatly wrapped package of perfection. And anyone that wants to put him on the pedestal is doing him a huge injustice… the pressure of disappointing that image of perfection would be an unfair thing to do to anyone.

The imagery of the angel is a shock, though when first seeing it. I was as shocked as when I saw a photo shopped pix of David with studs and rings all over his face and ears a while back--can’t remember who did it…haha! Well, I guess that means I like the natural look, right?!!

I just returned from a 5-day road and flight trip to Tempe, Pomona and Reno.
I want to comment about the radio interview vid clip in Tempe, shown on Youtube. Referring to the fans as “crazies” was rude, IMHO, and also the reference to “the Old Lady”! Those young gals taping this should remember that they, too, will be old some day. I was at the radio station ~ and I probably was the oldest person there… there were only about a dozen people there before the interview. The “old” woman in the video is a wonderful fan who lives in Arizona. I met her at the Bonnie Hunt show last November. In that video, I saw myself at the end of the hall. I want to explain why we all ran outdoors as David left by a rear exit.
After we had a wonderful little interlude with David before his interview, we all retreated to our vehicles (in the parking lot) to listen to the ensuing interview. A car pulled up along side our vehicle with a darling little girl. She appeared to be approximately 8 years old. She was dressed in an ‘angel’ outfit, complete with Halo. She had a little Teddy Bear to give to David; this was a ‘talking Teddy’ included a short taped message. When she realized that she had missed him, she started to cry. I was right beside her and I told her that we would show her (and her mother) where to go inside, to the lobby by the elevators… and that she might be able to give it to David, after his radio interview. This consoled her for the moment. As we waited, we talked to her and lifted her spirits. Then I realized that Ray might take David another route (as they indeed did). So I asked a security guard where other exits were… and the hallway was indicated. That’s the reason I was watching the hallway and then David appears, as is shown on the Youtube vid. I can see myself hurrying out the big main door, telling ‘little Angel’ to hurry. I told her mother to take her around the building to the rear parking lot, but it was too late; David was already in his vehicle, waving, but not realizing that ‘little Angel’ was heart-broken! As we left, I said to the others that I hope she’ll be able to give David her gift before the day was over.
So… I want to express that there is another side to the story about the dialog in this video, and not as it appears according to the young woman making those comments about the “crazies” (trying to help this little ‘angel’) and the “Old lady”. I’m sure this woman will see that video online; I hope she is not offended ~ I hope my comment here will show that we are not “crazies” and the “old lady” was only trying to help!

Dawn 12:57 You made perfect sense, as you always do for me. Saying David is perfect always give me the cooties because no living human can be perfect. Flaws and imperfections are what make us unique and different from one another. Case in point: Remember how sexy Tom Cruise was when he first arrived on the scene? His crooked front tooth was one of the reasons. A few years later when he straightened out his teeth, he lost his appeal. And later antics made him lose more appeal. Flaws are what make us human and David is as human as they come.

I was a chubby and teased litle girl, myself--my brother tormented me!--and it took years for me to shake off that self-image. All the adulation probably seems a little unreal to David. I have another theory (OK, and addendum)--he may even feel that his physical beauty (to the degree that he’s aware of it) detracts from what he’s there to do. In *his* mind, I’m guessing he’s all about the music, and the message in his music. The drop-dead gorgeousness? He’s probably just “awwwwww, thanks!” and getting on with another song.

Thanks for the follow up to the radio interview. There is always more to any story and whenever I hear sarcasm I immediately know there is a WHOLE lot more. Sarcasm, to me is the lazy man’s way to make a point.
As to the age thing, gma4lil, I am, at this point, ignoring it. Just because my date of birth wasn’t in the last 20-30 years doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate genius and art and express such. It is truly ‘their’ problem not mine, so they need to get over it, lol. I am going to enjoy this David fan adventure to the maximum.
Some feedback from my online friend who, during AI7, was hooked on Cook. She’s come a long way. Last Christmas I sent her a copy of our David’s CD. About two weeks ago I sent her a youtube video of “Zero Gravity” from the current tour. Yesterday I asked which song froom David’s CD was her favorite. This is the reply I received this morning:
“I really like Crush **blushes** but I also love Zero Gravity. Actually I really don’t think there are any songs I don’t like! As much as I like David Cook, I like David A’s CD much better.”

That story made me cry. It channels the “inner child” of missed opportunities we have all experienced. Getting dressed up for the concert just built her anticipation to the sky! I want to think that someone did get her teddy bear to David. The band members have been great about getting gifts to David.

It took me a while to get ‘wordpress’ to register me.
I had a chance to hang out with the ‘famous’ Silverfox and her charming sister. We spent much of the day together, line-sitting, the mosh-pit, late dinner and finally at the bus with David. Also passed the time together at the Reno airport the next day. SF is still on her way home… I wish her ‘safe travels’.
She and I endured the horrendous mosh-pit, which was much worse than at Tempe or Pomona, but it was all worth the effort for the wonderful view we had of David, right in front of his keyboard, about 10 feet away! Maybe SF will post a comment here about that experience, as I have commented to a small group of San Diego/Los Angeles mailing list.
Thanks to a connection with “River 992″, Alex gives me a ‘shout-out’ every time he sees me!

David would have so appreciated the stuffed animal from that little girl! He’s so great with kids! I think he wondered why they were being videotaped walking down the stairs because he asked about it, only to be told that it’s for the station’s website. Did you hear when he said (paraphrasing) “I’m sure there aren’t too many people waiting.” It was clear that if it was up to him, he would have met the fans who were waiting by the elevator for him.
Some info about the Cleveland appearance. I just called the place. They said there would be private meet and greet at 5:15 to 5:45 on April 15th and at 11:15 to 11:45 on the 16th. Each meet and greet allows 25 people. So there is altogether 50 tickets available. Each ticket is $250.
The tickets just went on sale and they sold one so far. You can still go to the public appearance and would just need to pay the park admission.
To splurge or not to splurge … that is the question…

Bebereader ~ Yes, David’s comment tells me that he would’ve come back out the the elevator area if Ray would allow it. It’s a rotten shame… cos that little girl waited so patiently, explaining the ‘bear’ and playing the recording for me as we waited. I know Ray means well and I’m very cognizant of the fear of security for David… bless his heart and keep him safe!
Kizzi ~ I just got an email from River, she just returned home from her family-trip late last night. She’ll try to catch up on online stuff tonight… if she can stay awake.
Yes, Alex-the bassist! After meeting him in Tempe, he’s being so sweet, taking time to come up with a big smile… along with big hugs! The friend who drove us to Tempe, gave the band a large bag of oranges off of her tree. Eli and Alex ate theirs right in front of us, savoring every juicy bite! I think there were comments about that at FOD… I gave Alex a clean napkin cos he was dripping juice everywhere, including when he was being photographed… it was hilarious! Alex is wonderful with the fans, very upbeat and friendly. At the buses in Reno (after midnight), he spotted me in line for David, walked right over and gave me a bear hug! I owe that to River… LOL !!
Another personal experience was with Eli: his smashed finger did not look good (in Tempe)… it was red, pussy and infected. The woman who drove us to Tempe and a doctor’s wife, took the time to drive to a drugstore and get antibiotics for Eli last Monday morning. I asked Eli Wednesday night (Reno) about the infection; he said it was much better, thank goodness!
Another neat experience about Eli, who said on a video that he liked t-shirts ~ my traveling companion wanted to give each of the four bandmembers a t-shirt gift. She picked out appropriate musical-theme shirts for each of the bandmembers. So we shared the expense and I gift-wrapped each separately along with a short message. Well, much to our surprise and pleasure, Eli wore his that night!
Lastly, the band members love David… it shows! And they compliment him so well! We fans (there in Tempe) told them that we appreciate their love for David! Don’t we all……
djafan: I just read your review on the Performance Tab. So beautiful, I felt I was standing right there with you moshing and experiencing the concert through your eyes and your emotions. So beautiful. And, ahemcoughahem, 48 is tres YOUNG!

bebereader -- love the story about your friend. When “resisters” come around and finally get him, it somehow kind of reaffirms your faith in people in general.
It bothers me a bit to see the negative comments on the Carrie Moten video. She really adores David and is a supporter, and I am pretty sure everyone who has left a negative comment has at some point or another said something much worse about someone than what was on that video. I do think they really meant no harm.
Just hate to see the overreactions. It kinda casts a bad light on his fans; like to think we are more open minded and understanding.
gmalil4da: The band is a good match for David, such energy and support and fun on stage. They add a youthful, zesty, fun dimension to his performances. Alex looks like he is a good guy from the videos and his antics on stage.

hello hello hellloooo… sorry.. been away for a week skiing in CO. I was in touch with Gma (Lily) during all the concerts but could not get online to check in here. Boy do I have a lot to catch up on.Loved talking to SF yesterday from the Denver airport.
Kiz… I’m home now. Been missing you all and David news especially. I have a new litter of show Pembroke pups and one is Alex and one is Kendra so that’s what our bass guy was excited about. He’s an absolute doll, both puppy and bass player.
dawn65 -- I asked Alex in Pomona, hadn’t confessed that I yelled out his name as he walked by and came over. I have pictures with him and we talked for a bit.
The letters… he said he didn’t know if he had yet, but that he will because he reads every single thing that is given to him. I suggest to include a self address stamped card with future packages… he’s known to send these back with a note.
I asked about Asia… he said only Mike will be going with him since it will some acoustic performances.
I asked about the UK… they’re all going…yeah! I told him to watch for those McFly Boys and he laughed and said oh yeah they will.. they know.
I told him I hope they stay with David… he said he does too.
Emmiegirl ~ there are comments being made elsewhere which put a bad light on fans who were there and that was not the case. There was not a huge group, maybe 2-3 dozen at the end.
I posted because I wanted to share thoughts about the little ‘angel’ and also about the fan-friend at the end, both wonderful people, as is David.

Mr. Kizzi is going to be there and he is killin’ me with his David research. He told his personal trainer all about David and brought her a CD (Walmart version so she’d have WFM) and then burned the iTunes extra’s on a CD for her. pssst -- I think he is a little sweet on her -- she is a cutie!
He is retired so he is now researching all about David as he has a year to catch up since he came down with ODD a couple of weeks ago.
When we were in England we heard TMH on the airplane (they have it in their Sky CD system)--and wow, I did a back flip when I saw David Archuleta listed with the “top hot pop artists” for my listening pleasure--haha. Then we heard Crush in hotel lobbies, stores, and on the Eurostar when we went to Paris.
When we visited Stratford-on-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace and toured his home, Mr. Kizzi turns to me when perusing some Shakespeare’s works in the bookstore on the property and said: “The world is becoming David’s oyster now, I hope he has a mega sword to open it with, he’s going to need it!” He was reading this proverb from a Shakespeare’s play ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ written in 1600: “Falstaff: I will not lend thee a penny. Pistol: Why, then, the world’s mine oyster, Which I with sword will open.” (Act II, Scene II.)
So now he is connecting David with Shakespeare--LOL. Well artistic genius is just that no matter the medium.

I have been wondering what the band thinks of McFly. This may be totally rumor, but someone told me that 3 out of the 4 of them are gay. I actually think this will be a great experience for David, and I hope he gets to experience getting to know the McFly band mates and is not kept isolated from them by his circle, and gets to experience the culture over there.
I think I love Mr Kizzi almost as much as David.

Abrra 8:20 ~ That is good news indeed if she does have it! I still keep my ODD on the lowdown pretty much. So many of our kids just can’t take it that we’re old but we’re not dead yet. Talk about fan base in Asia… I met wonderful fans, 5 of them, from Japan… and I made it a point to introduce myself to them in Tempe… fantastic bunch of people. They were in line there from 3am! They were studying me when we places our chairs nearby cos I am third-generation Japanese-American here and I could sense their curiosity. I have another fan-friend (from Japan) who lives in LA; she has been in the states for 6-7 years. I thought SHE might like to meet these Japanese fans, who came over specifically for 4 David concerts. I introduced them all to each other in line at Pomona… it was gratifying to me, how they talked (excitedly, in Japanese) together, all sharing their love for David! Whew!
They got to meet David when the buses were ready to leave.
dawn65 -- Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE David’s acoustical performances, but don’t you think a song like Zero Gravity would lack the energy without the band? And look at the promo video from Asia…they are expecting performances of the caliber of his solo tour. I just don’t want them to be disappointed because they are such huge fans of his.

Someone needs to tell the Asian fans that this is just a PROMOTIONAL tour. He said this himeself in one of the recent radio interviews. In other words, Mike is all that will be necessary because he’s not doing a full concert. Don’t expect Zero Gravity and the like. It will be more along the lines of the radio appearances but with a few more songs I’d assume. He can do the keyboards on Crush and ALTNOY, etc. With Mike he can add You Can and SOT. Just guessing here…but I wouldn’t expect more than 4 or 5 songs. I may be wrong, but someone needs to lower their expectations. No concert dates have been announced, correct? And it’s just a little over 2 weeks until he’ll be there. They’ve just announced the time period he’ll be in each area…which means radio, meet and greets, CD signings, etc….at least to me.
I SUSPECT, since he has so many fans there, and there have been no actual concert dates announced …that whomever he is supposed to be opening for this summer/fall…may have Asian dates planned. THIS IS JUST A GUESS!!! haha!

Interacting with non Archu exposed people can be dangerous for me at times. I had a meeting discussing meeting rules and I suggested we refer to David’s rules of order… several asked who’s rules of order? I quickly replied I mean Robert’s. His SLC concert is March 27th and he’s at Sony in Singapore on April 7th -- 9th, back to the US for the Cleveland thing April 15th-16th and then on tour in the UK April 21st -- May 10th (do I have this schedule memorized -- YES!)
Somewhere in there he’s supposed to do an album (which I’m betting is a re-release of his first plus other tracks already completed) and make time to do a Christmas album, and tour with someone over the summer?

I have not posted lately, still playing catch up from the amazing trip last weekend to Alb, NM, for the oh so amazing concert.
I wanted to thank SF and her lovely sister for their wonderful hospitality! Also what fun to meet and hang out with them,davidfanLiz, Joymus and Mike. It was just a great weekend and we reveled in our shared joy of David’s gifts.

Dawn: I am with you on that David train…. I try my best to not blurt out inappropriate things and inappropriate times. I mean after all I am supposed to be a (amen) professional responsible person! Well over a year now and not going awayayaya. So….just try to keep the balance in life. I mean it is not like I could give up David….I try to listen to other music and sometimes even find a short period of enjoyment- but go back to my most valued MP3…What would I do with out all those glorious tracks of David live in every imaginable venue?
My DVD is worn out, and since they do not play David on the radio in my area- no more radio for me.
raelovingangels.. I’ve found that David has ruined most music for me.. I tried to put my Zune on shuffle today.. and Jason Mraz popped up singing I’m Yours.. well you know how long that lasted right?

Dawn- so true! Yet to hear a cover that I do not like better than the original artist. I feel sort of bad for them really- It is like hearing music for the first time in many years. What is that movie with Robin Williams where they all awoke from a coma? Sort of like that. I did not watch AI thiz season but cannot wait to see David on that stage again. Don’t care what he sings, he will rule the stage.
I got a real sharp insight into one aspect of my personna that’s changed since I’ve been Archusized. Last week vacationing with the fam, when someone mentioned something that suggested a song in my head I just burst out with it. Sound like anyone you know? I’ve never done that before and no one seemed to notice or wonder why. I know why..

Re: Asian Tour, the orig sked announced was: Apr2-4 Manila; Apr6-8 Singapore then Apr9-11 Malaysia. It is only Sony BMG Philippines that has not confirmed the dates, though in the last MYX Music Awards, while accepting the Most Popular International Video Award for CRUSH, they did announce that he is coming and that Manila is the 1st stop. So I am bummed that we have not heard anything here.
Also, the orig plan was to have an acoustic set but that was changed. I remember reading somewhere that the band will be coming after all.
But who knows? At this point your guess is as good as mine.
DAWN/DJAFAN -- count me in with the ODD surprise to non Archies. Friends & family have not seen me like this. I have always been known as the logical one. But start talking about David -- goooooone with the wind!
KIZZI -- can I say I love Mr. Kizzi? I really do! He should be a resource person for the support group for partners & friends of people with ODD (PAFRIPODD) Haha
I’ve decided that David induces the production of Endorphins in our brains -- and that is a very addicting situation. Cause it “feels so gooooood” and we just want more. If I had to give him up they’d probably have to perform electric shock therapy every time I did anything “David” in order for me to be cured, like some lab mouse getting shocked when the food comes down the chute. After about 5 million shocks, I might give it up.
But you know how those addictions go -- a few weeks later, you think, “Just one video” and you are over the edge
Jackryan: When I asked the band about the Phillipines/Asian tour- and would they be going ( can’t remember if it was Mike or that cute Eli)…they were vague about how many shows/where/when but I definately had the impression they would not be going with him. I guess I should have followed up a bit- but you know people were taking pix etc.

I’ve lost my old self along w/the rest of you. My craft table sits right here by me as I’m typing away--looking lonely and dusty. I did manage to water my daffodils and strawberry plants this evening before rushing in to the computer. And while my husband enjoys David’s voice and recognizes him as being someone to watch rise up the ladder of stardom, he doesn’t totally get him. He admitted he’s never “fanned” over anyone and doesn’t understand my ODD. He’s patient tho’. Maybe something will happen in SLC.
River ~ thanks for the mention of Sam… the fans here in SoCal thinks he is such a good sport… line-sitting with me at 8am for the Bonnie Hunt show; then he helped with the line-sitting inside the Grand Sierra, getting water for me and other necessities.
For the concert, he sat in the plushy booths with SF’s sister and a Canadian fan… while SF and I tackled the mosh pit. The ladies seemed to enjoyed having Sam with them. 
Sam and I just finished dinner… I described all the events of the road trip to him, since he didn’t go to Tempe or Pomona. He totally gets David and fully supports him!

Hello all jDers! I’ve been coming here since day one and, before that, had been visiting nD since last May. Love the poetry, musings and just the way you all gush about David. I’ve never posted before but am feeling a little brave today so here goes…
When I heard that David was to tour this year I got excited. I was gonna try very hard to attend one of his concerts. Health issues keep me at home most of the time, so when the tour dates were announced and a couple of them were to happen during an already scheduled week off, I was on the moon. The closest venue was still about at least a five hour drive away, so I looked for some way to get there and for someone to invite along. No one I asked could get away during the middle of the week and no around seemed to feel the way I do about David. You all provided the news and buzz around David that I resigned myself to just that.
The more I read the more I needed an actual experience. Unfortunately, the concerts soon started selling out. The next closest venue was now a seven hour drive or 22 hours by bus. Knowing that I would probably have to go alone, I went ahead and purchased two tickets anyway (I hoped to convince someone to come along).
Reno is the show I attended. I got into a very long line at about 5 pm and met some really wonderful people who invited me to sit with them inside the concert. If you’re somehow reading this, thank you Nancy, Ed, and Georgia. But when we made it inside and thanks to many of you encouraging it, I decided to try the mosh pit. Wow! I wasn’t close enough to see everything and, in retrospect, would probably have seen more if I’d backed up a few feet, but wow! I’m not a screamer so I don’t think I screamed, but boy did I BOUNCE, haha. David was beyond belief and provided this usually feeble person an unforgettable night. Wow! Wow! Wow!
twana21…My husband saw him with me in Toronto and said to everyone that he was “amazing”…I was surprised…I have been warning him that this SLC concert is going to be big and noisey…The end of a tour, everyone’s way of congratulating him and a great big send off to the UK and Asia…and in his home town…I am trying to mentally prepare!!!

sandybeaches- my Pem Corgi Alex/Kendra litter has 7 pups, 5 boys..all red and white. I co bred them so only got to choose 2 names. I will be taking new photos Sunday since their eyes have opened.

My personal experience.. I didn’t eat or drink that day.. just in case there WAS no restroom facilities around (fortunately we scoped early..and we were all good).
Be prepared to do whatever ya gotta do… and just wait. If you’re like me.. and not a big fan of the crowd.. do NOT look back… EVER.
Whatever angst you’re feeling… will instantly disappear as soon as Golden Boy hits the stage. From the nanosecond he appears before you.. you’ll have nothing to think about…you’re a passenger … he’s the driver.. enjoy the ride 8)

SF: I have a frozen smile now, after hearing that David probably did read our letters! I have to go back and read mine again now. What did I say again? I can only imagine how he must feel to know how much he is adored by his fans. Thank you again for making all this possible for us.

I think the reviewer did a good job. I know this may not be a popular thing to say, but the material for both of them is a little weak. One reviewer recently cited David A’s CD song lyrics as bland. I think that’s true -- it is only when David gets his hands on them live that they really stand out and make an impression. The lyrics of the songs he co-wrote seem to have more depth, but we still will have a while before we get to hear what David can REALLY do.

David’s a walking musical encyclopedia! He knows old songs that I never heard of! To his credit he spent a lot of time studying the billbord charts.

My bills sit upaid, newpapers unread, dishes unwashed, laundry decaying in the dryer, begging to be folded, phone calls to friends go unreturned, unless, of course it’s a friend with ODD. Lately I have zero patience to speak to old friends who don’t get David. Sad, much?

I’m John from Malaysia.The promo vid that you guys have been watching for David’s Asia trip was created and posted by our site called Archuleta Avenue Malaysia.
As you can see from the video we are waaay excited over David’s trip to our part of he world -- it’s been a long awaited event.
But I have to reassure all of you that we in Asia are well aware that David will not be doing a full concert when he’s here. It’s just a showcase of 7-8 songs acoustic style but we are seriously deprived when it comes to hearing David live so we’ll take anything haha! Hopefully by seeing the amount of rabid fans he has in Asia, his management team will decide on a full concert sometime in the near future
In addition to the showcase he’ll be doing a series of radio interviews and making an appearance in a local school. Fans will also win the chance of being in his personal entourage for a day by taking part in a David trivia contest.
So we’re very happy and excited over the events that have been lined up while David’s here and we’re alright by it….for now lol. Dont’ worry about us everything’s cool

I’m glad the fans in Asia are aware of the nature of David’s tour there. I felt bad when I saw that video because I didn’t want people to be disappointed.
Can you tell us a little more about how David is viewed there? It appears there is a large fanbase.

David is just as loved here as he is in the US. Those of us who are fans have been so since we first saw him on American Idol and like you guys in the US his fans here range from the teens to the rather not so teen like myself haha.
We’ve been following him from the show to the AI tour, the album launch ( in fact one of our local music stores sold 400 copies of his cd in one day when it first came out and we went round to the stores and rearranged his cd on the racks so that it was displayed more prominently lol ), the Jingle Balls and now his solo tour -- all thru youtube of course. And we have our own radio requesting regiment here as ALTNOY and Crush has been played heavily on local radio stations. In fact we’ve gone on a request overdrive to make sure that his music sits on top of ALL the radio charts when he arrives lol.
So yeah we have ODD to the max in Asia. We love him not only for his artistry but the person that he is. He’s a great role model for young people around the world and maybe older persons too.
We’re also preparing to camp out at the airport to give him a grand welcome

I guess it doesn’t surprise me that David has a similar age range of fans in Asia as he has here and that you all “found him” just as we did on AI. There are so many things that draw us to him, not the least of which is his voice and his unbelievable talent.
The growth David has shown over the last year is amazing and I can only imagine what he will do over the next few years. I speak particularly of his performance skills, which are becoming one of his strongest attributes.

Interestingly enough, if you leave off the Archuleta and just search for “David”, he does not show up until page 7 (it might be different on other computers) but there are 3 photos of him there. He is accompanied by a motley crew of other Davids.

I finally got my wish tonight of seeing a show from the rail! It was an intense show tonight in Idaho Falls. A packed house of mostly families with lots of kids, couples and teenagers. Mostly seated, but with a pit that held moshers about 4 deep. It was genteel moshing, more my style than Albuquerque. Vermeer and I looked up directly into David’s face as he sang 1000 Miles and Angels. Angels was the most powerful I have ever heard. At the end of the song, he gave a little, “whoosh.” It seemed to be intense for him too.

While it’s true that his CD lyrics might (or might not be, perspective varies) construed as lacking, it is ALWAYS what the artist brings to it, and as you said, once “David gets his hands on them…” Oh yeah, baby. :p
That’s what makes great pop music. I mean, I’m thinking even as I type of some (ok totally random and possibly extremely odd) examples of, er, less than brilliant lyrics at face value, but songs made faboo because of the singer.
Like Professor Longhair’s “She walks right in” — Lyrics in toto are exactly: “She walks right in, she walks right out” and nuthin’ else — THE WHOLE DANG SONG… lol
Also thinkin’ how much I LOVE Dave Van Ronk’s “Teddybears’ Picnic”(yeah, you read right.)

but … point being, it’s always what the vocalist brings to the table (or “brangs” in David’s case). You knew that. I have no earthly idea why I’m blithering on here…

What I LOVED about the Reno WFM is one, that he’s feeling comfortable enough to take real liberties with that one, live, and that he slowed down and created ample wiggle room to really swim around and indulge (himself and US) in some relaxed, killa vocal velvet. (soulful r’n'b flavored. yum.) It’s extremely appropriate and befitting that particular song. (A song I ADORE.) Honestly, that Reno WFM makes me so indescribably happy.
And lordy, what he has done with BARRIERS during this tour… Just… scary smexy… lol. Nevermind the lyrics, honey. He could be singing Peas & freakin’ Carrots! (I really do have a Barriers fixation.)
So, anyway, I’m thinkin’ David could pretty much sing nursery rhymes and kill. (Oh yeah, the phone book. Thank you, Randy.) Lyrics are not the issue. Not that he won’t always choose to sing lyrically powerful or clever songs that mean something to him. And I love that about him. I mean REALLY LOVE IT.(LOOOOVE the medley) And of course he will write some great stuff over the course of his career (as he already has, imo). Naturally, melodies and arrangements will evolve for David, too, and all the more as he finds/makes time for creative explorations and experimentations and grows the confidence to take the bull by the horns. But I’m more than willing to give him all the time and elbow room he needs for that. I’m not exactly disappointed so far. But lordy, that anticipation of the archu_evolution is nearly as delicious as the current, right-this-minute David.
Oh, and for the record, I am not worried about his tour schedule or the promotional decisions or the two cds upcoming (if that’s really true.) I almost think he NEEDS to do it the way he’s doing it. And then at the end of the wacky, break-neck, whirlwind schedule he will have done and undergone so much and learned so much and have experienced so much to look back on, assimilate, macerate and…and…and… PERCOLATE… that he’ll be totally RIPE for reflective, creative LEAPS forward. (shaky just thinkin’ about it…) It’s allllll gooood.

I think I’m starting to panic. It just hit me tonight that he will be leaving the country soon. Leaving the country! Hey everyone! I’ve been away for a little bit and there’s so much to catch up on -- as always.
I’M IN BOISE NOW!
Tax season (in addition to my “day Job”) has been taking up WAY too much of my David time.
But for the next 36 hours, it’s just ME and DAVID and all of you! It’s 1 am here in Boise -- 3am for me NY Time!
I just checked in to the hotel and figured out how to hook up my laptop to the wireless service here. Hooray! I met cutter12 in the lobby and Liz, vermeer and several others will be meeting up tomorrow!
I’m so excited to meet everyone and see the show tomorrow night! And I’m just as excited to have this hotel time all to myself without “life” intruding on my David Love!

Angelica, I felt the same way when David sang his last song, Angels, and then waved and walked away. He had given us an excellent show and was now off to his next adventure and all I could think of was how much I was already missing him and wishing I could follow him to any end of the earth.
Oh, and I actually love the Reno outfit. That shirt is cool. If you were a teenage girl, could you ignore a guy in that shirt? Even if you hated it, you would have a hard time keeping your eyes off him.

David’s showcase in KL is on the 11th of April at the Sunway Lagoon Amphitheatre. The tickets aren’t on sale but can be obtained in several ways namely Msian radio stations thru which the tickets are distributed. Digi our local cell phone service provider is the main sponsor and they’re handing out 1500 tickets via a promotion but I don’t think those in Spore can participate in this. Whoa a full concert from David in May? That’s just great if it happens. I guess I’ll have to make plans to go to the Philippines then. As for David’s trip to the Phil in April not too sure about that but if you get the concert instead….what a trade off!

Off topic but I can’t help but be proud to share this personal good news: this coming Thursday, my daughter, Aina, graduates with a degree in Advertising. She is a Cum Laude and is ranked #9 of her graduating class. Isn’t that cool!
By next year, it is my son’s turn to complete his tertiary education -- then am done with schooling!
What does that mean for my ODD? I will soon be able to travel freely and possibly attend David’s next major concert there! Woo-hoo!!!

Olemr2001 -- This Medley is HOT!! I especially love the views of Eli in the background and then at the end, David does a little hand drum roll action — truly amazing!!
Although David smiles throughout, I’m especially capitvated by how much more he seems to be beaming when he accompanies himself on the keyboard! His happiness makes us happy… and vice-versa!!
Besides what we hear from his voice; having David’s hands on those keys is like one more outlet -- for the music -- that’s in him. It’s a glorious combination and doubles our enjoyment and pleasure.
