A (Fan) Tale of Two Cities
Part II - Glasgow

From David's Perspective
The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) is gorgeous, affectionately called the Armadillo, and patterned after the Sydney Conference and Exhibition Centre (pictured in Vee’s avi.) The SECC is near the banks of the Clyde River and a winner of multiple awards in the UK for venues.
Glasgow is a city with great style. The Cunard Shipping Line was founded in Glasgow and that the liners Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, QE2 and the Royal Yacht Britannia were all built on the River Clyde at Clydebank. Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the world-famous architect and designer, was born in Glasgow in 1868. His work can be seen in many locations in and around the city, the UK, and the world.

“Hi David, i met u yesterday with my dad & brother at ur hotel in Glasgow thanks so much for taking pics with us!”
A Glasgow Fan:
Mr. Kizzi and I met this young lady (around 16,) her dad and her brother outside of David’s hotel, The City Inn, where we were waiting for a taxi after the concert. Until then, we didn’t know it was David’s hotel.
They didn’t have tickets to the concert but she met David at the hotel near the Scottish Exhibition Center venue that afternoon and she had a picture taken with him. She showed us this picture that she had developed that day.
They returned later in the evening to his hotel to see if they could see him again and get her picture autographed along with a couple of CDs that they had gotten from the U.S.; his CD wasn’t on sale yet in the U.K. What a warm and loving family and her mom couldn’t be there as she was expecting and near her delivery date.
The teen’s eyes were shining and she was shaking with excitement. Her father was as excited as she was. Her dad even offered to take us back to our hotel.
The comment under the picture and the picture were posted on a David Bebo fansite page at http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=7694243936. There are also comments by UK fans, some of whom attended a McFly concert. Credit to desertrat for the photo & Bebo site find.
David’s Grandfather?
A group of girls, 14-18 years old, with such a beautiful Scottish brogue, came up to Mr. Kizzi after David’s set in Glasgow. They asked him where he is from; he said Florida. Then they asked if he was David’s grandfather. He said no. He said no three times. They didn’t hear him because they didn’t listen to anything he said after he said he lived in Florida.
They told Mr. Kizzi they watched David’s American Idol performances on YouTube and knew his grandparents lived in Florida. They were so excited as they were on their way to the outside door to back stage to get an autograph from David. They told Mr. Kizzi that David was amazing and that he (Mr. K) must be so proud of his grandson. By this time Mr. Kizzi was resigned to the fact that they had decided he WAS David’s grandfather and denial was futile; so he said, “Any grandfather would be proud to have David as a grandson.”
Wearing David’s Tee:
Mr. K bought us David tees when we got to the Glasgow venue and he put on his tee right away. The tee is black with David’s picture on the front and a list of the U.K. tour stops on the back (even the canceled ones.) So, McFly fans begin to stop us and discuss David with us before and after the show. Glasgow natives are some of the friendliest people I have ever met.
- One group of girls (ages 14-18) stop us and launch into how much they love Crush, how they saw his AI performances on YouTube, and on how hot David is. They can’t wait until his CD is released next week so they can buy it.
- The ushers were so friendly. They noted the T-shirt and asked us where we came from and was it just to hear David. We say proudly us we came just to hear David open for McFly. They tell us about who they are, their families (Scots are proud of their ancestry) and where they live. One usher invited us to have dinner with their family — we couldn’t though because of our tour. Another usher knew we weren’t sitting together and, after seating us, found me and said she had tickets for two seats together.
- After David’s set we were in the Lounge area talking and the announcer overhead was saying McFly would be on in five minutes. We stood up to return to our seats and four astonishingly beautiful 16-20 year old girls approach us (Mr. K. hasn’t’ yet recovered from how gorgeous these girls are) and asked us if we were David fans. We said yes. They began to show us the items they got David to sign at the backstage door, and told us how sweet he was, how great his music was and how much they loved him.
I had three groups of girls and friends who obviously came together sitting around me.
- The ones to my right, older teens, knew the words to Touch My Hand. They cheered and applauded and stood and waved throughout David’s set. They told me at intermission that they knew David from YouTube and American Idol.
- The ones to my left were also older teens and were quiet at the start of David’s set, didn’t know anything about David and by the time he was singing his final song, Crush, were standing and cheering as exuberantly as the girls on my right. At intermission I spoke briefly to them and they said they were definitely buying his CD.
- In front to my left were a group of girls in their early teens who were applauding, cheering, shrieking and dancing throughout all six songs
And, amazingly, as fans we have so much more to anticipate, to enjoy, as David grows as an artist and becomes known around the world. His artistry has universal appeal across cultures. We are experiencing something extremely rare…to see David’s artistic journey unfold around our planet, experience each step of growth as a fan, feel the joy and celebrate one of the unanticipated splendors of this shared human existence, the music and artistry of David Archuleta.
- kizzi

Oh KIZZI -- that was a great, great story -- what an experience! Thank you for taking the time to observe the fans around you and for giving us some historical context of the venue.
Mr. KIZZI must think we are all bonkers after none of the girls listened to his explanation that he wasn’t David’s abuelito. LOL. He must have been “muy simpatico” for them to ignore his denials
It is heartwarming to see and hear how David is conquering and garnering more fans as he goes around to share his music. That isn’t surprising, right?
But what is surprising is how similarly nice and giddy the fans are, whatever age, gender or country of origin. Yup, our young man has got universal appeal, alright!
My goodness, my heart suddenly beat fast, with just the prospect of seeing David perform live — be still my heart! I am going alone cos the ticket prices are indeed prohibitive. With the present global crisis, fans esp those still in school would have difficulties getting good seats -- if ever they would even venture attending. It is not only the cost of the ticket -- the whole logistics required would add up to a tidy sum for a regular student.
I myself just closed my eyes when I paid for my ticket. Cos with this chance of seeing him perform live, letting that slip by is UNTHINKABLE, right???!!!
Anw, you said the girls are gorgeous there? Am getting giddy at the likelihood of David meeting someone that would get his interest -- ah to be young and free!!! I know he is not shallow and not into just looks, but come on! He is still a regular 18-yo guy. Gorgeous girls around him -- dream come true for most guys! Am just giddy that he is having fun in general.
What an adventure for someone like him and we are the beneficiaries of this adventure he embarked on.
Meanwhile, I would like to share something nice that I saw in the papers today. SM Mall of Asia (MOA) put up its own print ad for the concert. Actually it is a corporate ad so it is more about their service than the concert. The the 2 Davids of course are prominently displayed.
What struck me was who got some pimp spot in the ad

Nature really has a way of balancing things
Dearest Kizzi!! I loved reading both part I and part II of your trip! I’ve been traveling for most of April with very little access to the internet, so to finally be able to get caught up and read your recaps -- well, it makes my day, week, month! I especially loved that Mr. Kizzi has not recovered from the gorgeousness of the girls while at the same time being David’s “grandfather”…hahhaaa!!!
I happen to be enjoying the twitter rage if for nothing else, to “hear” about David’s fun in the UK. He seems to be enjoying it, so I won’t begrudge him that fun
And just for kicks -- I never post with the intention of getting a response. I post to express something I’m feeling at the moment.
Hope everyone’s day is great. ♥
Hi Kizzi, thank you for sharing with us your adventures in Scotland and the videos of the concerts. David is very lucky to have such an ardent fan in yourself and Mr Kizzi.
I am not very good with words, but I would like to take this opportunity to express my admiration for your compassionate nature and an enlightened one to boot.
I had been on retreat and now I am trying to play catch up on TDC on the recent main write-ups only. To all the authors, a big thank you for your contributions. I don’t think I am able to cover the comments but these must be interesting as usual.
Have a great day, everyone!
Diana
Thanks again kizzi for a beautiful heartwarming post. Your appreciation for them and their warmth comes shining through.
Wow, for you to be able to share this experience at this stage of his career is awesome. What a treasured memory it will be as his career unfolds.
And Mr. kizzi, my hats off to you -- wearing the tshirt and shooting the videos. You are a dream!
kizzi~thanks so much for giving us this up close view of the experience of witnessing David’s reception in Britain. Many of us were worried, including me, including David, and for no reason. It is so gratifying to see him appreciated on foreign soil cause you know we care a lot for that guy, and worry so.
You mentioned the friendliness of the Scotts. That reminded me of my trip to Scotland in my 20′s. I had bought a Brit rail passs for 2 weeks and I and a girlfriend were exploring England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We had just arrived late at night in Glascow Scotland, and were looking pretty lost at the train station. An older man approached us and we had a hard time understanding his brogue, but he seemed really friendly and wanted us to go with him. haha. We were of course determined not to because he was a stranger but he was dressed so well and there was just a good feeling about him. After some persuading, we finally, crazily agreed to let him take out bags and load them and us in his car. I know, crazy, but we were both young and honestly did not have a clue where to go that late at night. Well, he took us to his home, a bed & breakfast, and introduced us to his good wife and made us comfortable in our room and brought us a snack. The next morning we had a huge breakfast of bacon and eggs waiting for us, included in the price of the room, which was as everywhere in Britain then, ridiculously low due to the rate of exchange to the dollar. They even had a little black Scottish Terrier, with a red Tartan sweater that wandered about and was so charmingly Scottish and adorable, I hated to leave. After breakfast the couple gave us instructions on where to go and what to see in the town. I never forgot the hospitaliy and warmth of the Scotts, which we found wherever we went and to this day, it is one of my favorite countries to visit, not only for it’s unbelievable beauty, but for it’s gracious people.
Sorry for the ramble. Loved your post and thank goodness you and Mr. kizzi changed your plans to be there when David was there, because the best concert vids by far were the kizzi’s from the USA!
Kizzi! “…to see David’s artistic journey unfold around our planet, experience each step of growth…” That’s what it’s all about for me. From the very start, I just knew I wanted to watch David’s story unfold. I have SO enjoyed your detailed recountings and your (and Mr. Kizzi’s!) videos. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
goboywonder! haha! That was very sweet of you to inquire after me (last thread). I’m jez fine. Just kinda busy.
JELLO! You knuckleHAID! LOL… We allllll appreciate your presence here. GOT THAT?? *Major NOOGIES* … (Your skull must have some serious callouses by now, since I’m forever giving you noogies, even silently when I read you…and don’t respond :p)

Oh Kiz thanks so much for the lovely details. It makes it all so personal and unusually rational. What a great experience. I’m already looking forward to Del Mar because I haven’t seen him since Northampton and as we all know, David live is David at his best. DJxoxo has also scored summer tour tix in Providence.. she looks out for my ODD. I have loved all the news on this wonderful tour, including the neat tweets from himself.
CROYDON’s ANGELS thanks to Anny!

David, hope you’re sleeping & having sweet dreams..
Dear Lord,
Please take care of David. Watch over him, protect him from all harm. Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path. Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give. Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him UNCONDITIONALLY as we, his Archangels do. Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being. Give him rest when he’s weary. Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace. Give him assurance when he feels doubt. Give him joy when he feels sad. Cloak him always in your protective arms during this time on his journey. Keep David and HIS VOICE healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born.
Though we may be unworthy, Please Lord, give some of us, David’s unconditional forever fans, the wisdom to know when to say no as well, especially when we want so much to do right by David. Open our eyes and help us in the way we support David so that it’s always in his best interests. Thank you Lord.
Amen.
And David..remember! Take that cell phone with you wherever you go! And if you get lost or in any kind of situation where you need help..just twitter an SOS!!
May your journey in the UK continue to be a happy & safe one and all you hope for and deserve! May your positive and good Karma continue to attract those with positive and good Karma! May you continue to encounter goodwill and happiness! May you continue to be healthy and strong throughout your journey in the UK. Keep with you all our love, prayers and warm thoughts! Take care of yourself! We miss you badly, and will always love you madly!
Goodnight All! I’m not myself tonight, as I found out today that a very dear friend of mine passed away last night. She’d had open heart surgey almost 2 weeks ago, then contracted pneumonia while still in the hospital. She was like my “other Mother” ~ age 85 ~ and had escaped from behind the Iron Curtain with her family when she was a young girl in Czechoslovakia. Very, very sweet lady. See you all tomorrow! Thanks for all the lovely videos, especially Angels.

kipper, so sorry to hear about your friend. She sounds like a very special lady.
Loved David’s blog. Sounds like he is thoroughly enjoying his time abroad.
jackryan4da, thanks for the vids, going to watch. Did you see
Croydon’s ZG, had a couple of great changes in it at 1:24 & 1:37.
If David is staying in UK for awhile after tour is over, I wonder if he will be doing more song writing?
(oh, and David, about those moves…your doing just fine!)
jackryan -- thanks for that DLG. Hot changes and boy, hot performance! I am praying someone has a closer shot of that!
Kizzi! I so enjoyed reading your tale of two cities! It’s especially wonderful to learn about the people you and lovely Mr. Kizzi encountered. What a treat it is to get some first hand accounts of the David fans and non fans. Thank you!!
Kipper, you are are in my thoughts tonight.
Just listened to David. He sounded AMAZING tonight! He had to feel good about his performance. And to top it off by seeing and meeting The Fray, he must have been flying high! According to Davids vlog a Mcfly promoter and manager made the arrangements. That was so nice of thoughtful of them. David just brings out the best in people.
Oops! and thoughtful.
SOME UPDATES ON THE MANILA CONCERT:
1. The 2 Davids will arrive Manila, Philippines on May 12, separate flights as Cook will be coming from the US while our David will be straight out of London.
2. They will have radio interviews & TV guestings with GMA Channel 7 (as it is the official media partner & franchise owner of Phil Idol), starting with a presscon for the two on arrival date (will have to confirm that last one).
To Pinoy fans, sorry no TFC (The Filipino Channel on cable) for you since ABS-CBN Channel 2 didn’t get gig. But am sure, they will find ways
For international fans, ABS-CBN is regarded as the better media partner when it comes to these things.
3. No duet. Each will perform for an hour with a 20 min break separating them. So it is safe to assume that our David will perform 1st.
THE GOOD NEWS? My boss will be out of the country for a month! This minnie mouse will definitely play!
Pls pray that it won’t rain on the concert date — it will be held on open grounds!!!! Don’t want our David getting sick! Storms are expected to come this weekend. Hope the rains stay away next weekend.
Am I losing my cool?
A bit.
Ishy.
What the heck WOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Am spamming. Forgive me but am sure you all understand:
DEAR DAVID,
Please, pleeeaaassse wear your London/Apollo wardrobe during your Manila concert. Have you seen the HQ vids of transylvaniaa I posted above?
Gone will be the days when others here will refer to our David as little… Just sayin…
Ooops, gotta go back to work! Time to regain my sanity. LOL
No need for apologies jackryan, we understand, oh we understand.
Boy, the Croydon concert…amazing… he had changes in every song, and they were all incredible! I hope he keeps these in his future performances.
If I knew how, I would twitter him and tell him how much I loved them.
Must cut myself off here and get to bed.
Kizzi, thanks for giving us such wonderful backgound information of your experience of attending David’s show in the UK. The details were very helpful to imagine what it might have been like to be there.
Peruu, was it you that had tix to San Jose you needed to unload? If so, I would like to get two, thanks.
DLG London Hammersmith Apollo -- this person liked David alot:
Another London vid -- closeup of TMH & good audio:
oops sorry JR you already posted the TMH
Goboywonder: I did have 4 tickets, but a TDCer asked me for them already. Sorry!
Thank you Kizzi for both your posts; enjoyed reading your observations of the fans at the concert. Oh, thanks to both you and Mr. Kizzi for the vids from the early shows in the UK.
I just wanted to share this little story with people that would find it a little entertaining. No one else I know would.
So, I’m talking to my 15 year old son who lives with his dad and second family on Kauai. I’m in the living room on the phone and my youngest son of 13 years is sitting on the opposite side of the room eating sunflower seeds and watching television (sorry, had to paint that picture for you). My conversation with my 15 year old leads to the discussion of his iPod, which was taken away because he was grounded. He tells me that he got it back. Because they don’t purchase music online, I offered to have it sent to me so that I could load it up with newer songs. At that moment, my 13 year old starts yelling across the room to his brother, with a huge grin on his face “Don’t do it! Don’t do it! She’s going to put David Archuleta on it.” Of course, I burst into this loud laughter because 1) he knows that I have ODD (I’ve finally admitted it)and every evening I’m on the computer checking on DA activities and 2)he’s right, I would put David’s songs on it.
My 15 year old is clueless on how much time I spend on DA but I proceed to make this a two way street with my 13 y/o. Looking straight at my 13 year old (with a grin on my face), I proceed to tell his older brother that he (13 y/o) was given full ownership of our previously shared iPod, all of my songs removed and he could choose whatever songs he wanted..and guess who has David Archuleta’s son Crush, WFM, ALTNOY, Barriers and ZG on his iPod?! Of course, now he’s in the background laughing because he got called on it, too.
My 13 y/o enjoys music that he enjoys, which includes JB and MC/HM (he’s a disney channel fan)…no favorites. But, I’m glad that he enjoys music (I think there is a difference from those that just listen to it); by enjoying it, he will seek out and experience all variations of music and learn to recognize, even appreciate, talent and craftmanship.
Speaking of 13 y/o, he’s requesting my company out in the living room; “I’m almost done” I say and he comes into the room wagging his finger, “No. No. I know you are in here wathcing David Archuleta…you’re on the same screen.” Gotta go.
Sorry, this was lengthy…but no where else to share.
So many things happened in 36 hours! First thing first, I got so many responses for my post yesterday! OH my gosh! I felt so unworthy of the attention! The response to posting ratio for me has to be a positive number now! How amazing! And there were so many good advice and sharing that I cannot thank you one by one. So, thanks guys!
Next thing, the pix. One thing I learned here was that there are many things about David to appreciate, or many ways to appreciate David. When I started out, I was fascinated by his voice, his personality, his interviews, and his gorgeous face. (I have to use words like beautiful, gorgeous to describe him. Other adjectives like handsome or good looking just do not seem to adequately describe the face.) But over here (nD+jD+TDC), I learned to appreciate his artistry, his hands, his thighs, his hunker downs, and now, his sweats. Those were some “hot” pictures in the last thread!
Kizzi, lovely stories again. David in his newest blog said he would like to hear from fans who already went to his UK shows. I immediately thought of you. Would you consider sending him your write ups?
Hi Kizzi you are correct.

David’s new blog
Happy Cinco de Mayo
Hey guys, I haven’t done a written blog for a while, so I decided to do one this week. I’m still in the UK, and having a blast! I’ve been managing to get some sightseeing in by waking up early in the mornings and looking around before we have to leave each day for the shows. I had a friend who lives pretty much down the street from me who happened to be in London this last weekend with his family, so I got to hang out and go around town with them! It was soo cool that we just so happened to be in London at the same time. I did sightseeing with them, but they left a few days ago. This morning, I decided to go to the Tower of London and take a tour around there. It was wicked cool seeing the crown jewels, and to think of how old all the buildings and things there were! Insane! I had a great time. Some other places and things I’ve gotten to go to and see are Covent Garden, Camden Town, Big Ben and Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and Westfield. I’ve managed to get quite a bit in each morning! Amazing what you can get done if you wake up early enough, haha.
So we had our show today in Croydon, and I felt really good tonight. I always wonder what people must be thinking watching me move lol, but I think the less you’re concerned about how strange people must think you look up on stage, the more you can just let go and get into the song. I’m trying to let myself get into that mind set more, and it’s been working
. But anyway, after I was finished performing my set, they were telling me to pack up my stuff immediately because we had to go somewhere. It was with one of the promoters of the show, so I was assuming we were going to have dinner r something. When we got to our destination, we were actually in Camden Town area. I recognized it from when I went there yesterday haha. We got to the doors, and they handed me a pass with The Fray on it. I was shocked! I had no idea they were playing in London, and that I’d even be able to go see them lol. They were great, and their music is really passionate and striking live. I was able to talk to them afterwards too, and they were cool guys. Unfortunately, I was only able to see part of their set. The good thing is that right when I got there they started playing Look After You, which is a killer song. So I’m hoping to see their whole set sometime in the future. If you’re in the London area, they have another show tomorrow if you want to see them. It was the promoter and one of McFly’s managers who were able to make the surprise happen for me, so I’ve gotta thank them! haha. It was a real treat. But yeah… As you all probably know I can never ever keep blogs short. But just thought I’d let you know how things have been! I’m starting to become addicted to Twitter, but it’s nice because I can keep people updated all the time and the messages aren’t uber long. If you want to follow me my twitter name is DavidArchie haha. Ok. I’m done now. Talk to you guys later!
P.S. If you are in the UK let me know if you’re coming to any of the McFly shows! If you’ve already gone let me know what you thought. Thanks!
P.P.S. I love concerts
Song for the day: Absolute -- The Fray
myanomalee: That was funny, to get “exposed” like that, but to be able to counter! I can understand your grins. That’s basically my reaction too when my kids openly discuss or analyze my ODD.
I have a story to share also. Hubby recently purchased a phone that will make announcement of who’s calling. Yesterday, I was cooking dinner, and the phone rang. Just when I was about to pick up the phone, it made an announcement. “Calling from David Archuleta”, said the robotic voice. I almost dropped the phone! My younger one was sitting right there! And I was like, “Shoot, did I call David from this phone too?” In my head, I was trying to formulate what to tell my daughter. And then I heard her quietly say, “Why does Pearl have your cell?” And then I remembered that to make fun of my ODD, they programed our phone so that when my cell phone calls home, it would say “David Archuleta”, rather than “Mom”. And my older one borrowed my cell today. What a scare.
Vee: I was just reading his blog too!
Earlier we were “analyzing” the new words David was using in his blog. I noticed that he said “wicked cool”. Seems like he has picked that up from the McFly boys.
It’s my David anniversary.
I’m just realizing that it’s been a year since I discovered David. It was in the final 4 of last year that I flipped around the stations and landed on David. It’s not too dramatic to say that that was a life-changing moment. I’m probably one of the last of this crew to have discovered him haha! Since it was so late in the season I had to work hard to put all the pieces together. I scoured YouTube for the old AI clips and slowly put them in chronological order. I couldn’t get enough of him, and I thought I was going a bit wonky until I discovered my second obsession: notingDavid, in July. Bless you, Rascal. I was not the only soul wandering in the wilderness that you saved LOL!
So, a bit self-indulgent, but I just wanted to share this anniversary. I am grateful for David and all the joy he has brought into my life. I am grateful for my David friends and for the nD/jD/TDC family of fan friendships that make me laugh and cry, and feel connected to the wonder of it all. Love and blessings on you all!
jr4da#1 -- I can feel your excitement for Manila and I am so happy for you to finally get to hear David live. I can’t wait to get your first hand account of the concert. “Soak it all in” as it goes quickly and every sense you have will be heighten, sharpened, more acute. Quite the natural high.

angelica -- loved your adventure in Scotland!
puteridi -- Nice to hear from you. I miss your posts.
beebee -- when you do the *poof* I visualize you as a genie going up in smoke -- lol

kipper -- I wondered where you were. Hugs to you my dear Heart.
vermeer, goboywonder, vee, myanomalee, peruu -- thanks for the kind words. Peruu, if David sees these experiences, I’d be happy but probably too long winded for a Tweet
dfLiz -- Happy Anniversary
Whew -- I think I got everyone
river -- oops, missed saying thanks! Hope we can meet up again soon. Need to get the NYC area TDCers together again for dinner in Manhattan soon.
Is it me or have David’s performance skills and overall “hawtness” increase several degrees? Every new opportunity to be with other musicians, matures his stage presence. Less banter in the UK (for time issues I suppose)has made him focus on the important aspects of his style and movements. OH yes David,we see, we see!
How great was it that he used The Fray line on the very night he got a surprise invite to their concert?
The summer tour is going be turned up another notch! Go big D!
kizzi is seems you made the most of your trip. Thank you for the fantastic reporting. Mr.kizzi is an excellent cameraman.

I am so excited for you! All of us need to focus on the sky being clear on the 16th (?) to ensure a comfy concert. Collective conscience is a powerful tool.
Take the whole experience in and photograph everything! Can not wait to read your report.

This is from snarky..he is just too adorable.

So excited for you..10 more days is it not ?
I wish I could go..and to think Manila is so near !
Kizzi, finally made it back here to tell you how much I’ve loved every detail of your Scottish adventure. Even though I don’t know what Mr. Kizzi looks like, I am picturing him in his David tee and smiling big time! Thank you!
How I wish I could be at the Oxford show tonight … how I love that town … the Bodleian library, gahhhhh … evokes almost a David thud! lol
Peruu, ROTFL, that story is priceless! When I check my texts and see mostly “Hi! David here!” I laugh … at myself!
Happy Anniversary! dfLIZ!! {{{hugs}}}
Thank you Kizzi for the second lovely writing of David in the UK.
I occassionally try to figure out the bigger then life phenomena that we have found. I have been trying to piece together all that has happened during the year with David and it becomes more evident that we can not possibly figure out where he will be in another year.
This puzzle of David is now complete but I think that I will work on a new even better one as his fame grows internationally.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_-OGkf-zUZYE/SRlLD77736I/AAAAAAAACKo/-YspFzAlql8/s800/David%20puzzle.JPG
Of course I did not do the crazy puzzle but I did stumble across the title for the summer tour…Lovarchuleta…oh my will that take hold?
I don’t have much time right now.. at work.. on a project.. but wanted to say Happy David Anniversary to Liz..
And to say HOW blown away I am by David’s blog. His rambling is not of his earlier days.
His adjectives are drawn from a deeper place than the “awesome” David that we’ve grown to love.
The words he’s choosing, the context and flow of his blog.. just .. oh David. (he’s hit my happy place.. writing)
He’s just an amazing individual. He seems to grow and mature before our eyes.. in so many ways.. simultaneously.. that one might MISS something.. because it comes at such a quick pace.
Sometimes we as a society tend not to see “The Big Picture”.. and our perceptions are often inaccurate, because we focus on an area that we expect to see progress… and we are actually missing out on what’s happening because he haven’t stepped far enough back. I’ve taught myself long ago to never expect progress where I’m LOOKING for it.. but trust that it’s being made.
Now DAVID.. blows my theory all to heck and back.
His voice continues to mature and just slay me.
He’s roaming the world, gaining fans and friends.
He’s being recognized BY HIS PEERS for not only his craft but for who HE is.
He’s gone from awkward to on FIRE on the stage. He trusts himself..and took a risk during his solo tour to just go with what he’s feeling.. BRAVO.. this has paid off in spades.
He’s shedding cute boy image to one of an attractive man. Attractive not only in physical appearance…but this inner charm and charisma.. kindness…generosity…topped off with the silky smooth voice that vibrates my heart.
He is now beautifully articulate.. and gave me yet ANOTHER reason to relish in all that makes him such an enigma.
Kizzi, again your discription of the venues, the people, the conversations, your whole experience, make us feel we were right there! If not for your hands on perspective of the audiences, we wouldn’t know how David was getting to them a song at a time. We can hear the screams sure, but actually seeing the audience and their reaction to David through your eyes makes it so real. Thank you for that.
Now we have Manila to look forward to. A one hour performance! JR, I know the anticipation must be torture! You’ve waited so long to see David. He is well worth the wait, but these next 10 days will drag for you I’m sure. We will want photos & videos, however I for one, would rather you enjoy and concentrate on David and his performance. But that’s just me.
Oh, and have you noticed how David pronounces “Manila”? He says “Mah-NEE-lah” with a slight accent. Love it!
Reading David’s blog made me all teary eyed and then I had a surge of happiness & pride. Like when my sons were his age and something great happened to them or when I realized they were growing up & away from me. David is having all these great experiences and he sounds so happy. He is so deserving of everything good. He also made me lol! He’s hooked on twitter. Does he know he is consistantly in the top three for most followed on twitter? So looks like not only is he #1 on xRank, but will soon be #1 on twitter as well!
The things David makes us do, we do all for love of David!
One more thing, we are always concerned about how hard David is working and maybe he should take a break. I worry too, but now I’m thinking this is what David wants to do. He thrives on the connection he feels with audiences. It’s like an adrenaline rush, an addiction. I don’t think David will ever get burned-out from performing live especially in the more intimate settings he said he prefers. Maybe, just maybe that is the reason he wants another album soon..he wants new material so that he can continue performing live. Even though we worry about David not getting enough rest and getting sick, this is what he loves. David will never have to worry about his own solo tours selling out here in the U.S. and looks like it will soon be the same world wide. He is reeling them in everywhere he goes.
Geesh..I can ramble..see you later!
Liz!! Those were the days, huh? When we first discovered David and were feverishly surfing the net trying to find everything we could on this beautiful boy with the glorious VOICE! There was something so special about David and we just knew we had to have a “relationship” with him, didn’t we!?
Happy Anniversary!
TOfan: Oxford FTW. I hope he gets time to soak up some Oxford history. And as he is a Harry Potter fan, I hope he gets to ChristChurch College where they filmed some Harry Potter scenes and the dining hall is what they patterned the one in the movie after. And the Bodleian library is to die for--I’d like to live in that library if I could.
beebee!!! I have missed you! I was just asking about you last night. Just didn’t post it, but I was gonna post an all points bulletin for any information leading to your wherabouts today. Good thing you showed up before I had to hunt you down like a dog. jk.
Seriously, you have been missed. We especially needed one of your blither bombs on the WOW, Just Wow thread. Oh, maybe not.
Late for work, but had to watch Croydon ZG one more time. Even fuzzy, and from a mile away, those 2:42 -- 2:52 head whips are
k-k-kiiiiller!!
For your convenience:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2ra8xOXHFM&feature=channel
33 secs of ZG but love the close up..dont miss 0:05..for the head whip
hey, came home late last night to a wonder filled mail box, Thank you Abbra, Dawn, Knot and marlie, what a treasure.
I’ve been thinking alot the last few days when I could not be here so much, how special this jouney has been ,how much I have grown to love this place, and I appreciate so much having this shared experience. Someone here always seems to be on the same page as me, and that is so good to know. (we are only a little crazy)
Happy anniversary Liz!
JR, I am sooo happy you are going to see David soon. You will not regret it, ever. Seeing him is priceless.
Kizzi, part II FTW, so descriptive, you have a gift for the details, love it!
Hi Everyone! Before I can catch up on this thread, I need to catch up on the last:
WOW.JUST WOW.
Dawn #83 ~ thanks so much for the bracelet link! I immediately tried to order one, but got in all kinds of trouble trying to pay thru PayPal (looks like I already had an account, etc., etc.). So I’ll have to fix that later tonight when I have more time. But thanks much! I really do want one!
Liz #92 ~ thanks for your directions to “Latest Comments!” I finally found it! Wow! So many choices ~ it’s easy to get confused here! And also, thank for fixing my video!
Pabuckie #138 ~ thank you too (both you & Liz) for the httpv: instructions! I’m hoping it works next time! I’m sure it’s very simple ~ but I tend to be computer-challenged sometimes!
I agree, that Crush is to die for ~ but aren’t they ALL? David has really grown SO MUCH in his performances while he’s been overseas. He’s like a sponge when he attends other shows ~ it’s like divine inspiration ~ he just keeps getting better & better! Yes, I saw the bald guy you were talking about too ~ was that a security guy?
I’m sorry to say that it seems the fangirls on McFly have quit using the “David” thread to express their feelings for David. I keep checking it every day ~ but nothing new since the “petition” they were getting together. It was fun to see how excited they were in writing! Ha!
To be continued …
{{{Angelica}}} as for “Wow, Just Wow”… some things render this beebee utterly dumbstruck. (Is all’s I’m sayin’.) (That happens a lot) (Jez sayin’ I’d love a LARGE FRAMED GLOSSY POSTER of that magnificent Hunkerdown. Or all of them….lol. PHEWEE!)
Speaking of which I just heard the crappy cellcast…. “Angels.” Lord have mercy.
David’s little mention in his blog about just letting go and getting into the song may be my very favorite little bit. GO FOR IT DAVID. You are frackin’ MAGNFICENT when you jez let that musical soul flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! WoooooT!
OK, gotta go.
*poof!* <— especially for Kizzi :p
(although *thud* might be more accurate)
yeah so no one wants to be the first to say it so I’m gonna:
2:24-2:41 of this
and especially at 2:35
this is outright thrusting! OHMYHECK David.
please.don’t.stop.
Emmiegirl #15 ~ thanks so much for your sentiments re: my dear friend Johanna. She will be missed!
Vermeer #19 ~ thank you too! She was very special to me, like my own mother.
And Kizzi, as always (I feel like I’m always thanking you for something) ~ your wonderful reports brought special joy to my heart ~ loved the picture of David with his UK fan (I’m sure there are MANY MORE as we speak) ~ I can only imagine all the new fans that will fall in love with him as time goes on! You had an amazing trip ~ thanks so much for sharing it in such a special way with all of us! You were a godsend! Sorry it’s taken me so long to say so ~ but navigating this wonderful board has really been a challenge!
By the way, are you attending any of the Florida concerts this Summer? I did manage to get a VIP ticket to the Orlando concert, and will be attending with 3 friends.
Gotta run! Talk later!
Well, I was at a concert this afternoon live on FOD and it was quite enjoyable…hey, I saw other TDC people there.
I believe that soon we will have “rated” videos or at least the reviews will need to be…David’s beloved girlfriend…the stage and the audience with a special love for his mic!
LOL {{FG}} Eagle Eye. lmao. Love ya, darlin’
FunnyGirl . May 6, 2009 at 3:40 pm .
Nothing new to see
Didn’t you watch KL DLG? We need a slow motion button on yourtube yes?
Abrra
LOL Abbra -- that would be magically delicious!
KIZZI -- I interrupt my creepiness to tell how much I appreciated your recaps and videos. Thank you so much.
If a closeup vid surfaces please send help.
Oh FG @ #54!!! I have been waiting who would be the 1st one to dare since post # 16. LMAO!
Will that serve as inspiration for the next installment of your sheriff story?!
LIZ! Happy David Anniversary to you!! Isn’t life just grand (is that Kizzi’s line??)! David has brought so much joy into our life. And I thank that fateful day at nD when you asked if I wanted to meet a real life David fan in SF! Sharing the David love is one of the most satisfying things to do in life!
Any arch angel here who still have not seen the complete episode (#14) of HM’s Promma Mia , here is a downloadable link to it:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/tk7mkd
Manila and perhaps most Asian countries are still at episode 4 or 5. Not HD since sendspace has a 300MB limit per upload but the quality is not bad either. Will upload the HD version via megaupload or mediashare later for anyone interested.
Enjoy!
Happy Anniversary to Liz…
kizzi my friend, thank you for your up close and personal tour reviews…. the next best thing to being there.
Funnygirl 54- there’s nothin’ to say that won’t get us in trouble.
(actually though, if he and his peeps didn’t relish our noticing, I doubt he’d continue to sing it)
FG, Happy, Abrra… #54.. if we get a close up of that performance.. please notify the paramedics BEFORE you post it.
Aye Aye Aye..
Just when I don’t think he can turn it up a notch.. he finds a whole new playing field and starts over.
There has to be something strangely wrong in the universe for this to occur.
I LIKE it.
Guys did you know I got my early Christmas Pressie. Maraming , maraming salamat ( Many many thanks) to you guys, Abrra, Dawn, Knot and Marlie7,. Exceeded my expectations. You guys are the best. I love the book marker, now I have David with me all the time. Now what will be our next project…DVD???
Just reminiscing, imagine Rock and roll last year…
WHAT DID OUR DAVID DO? He did his songs, HIS OWN SPECIAL way…..justDavid…no fanfare no theatrics no screaming no bangles no necklaces…just the awesome loving tender voice and expressive face…
Stand by me…Live AI7
Love me tender….he crushed the competition.. LUV THIS LUV THIS
Love me tender studio version, my first time to hear this. something different to the live performance…A different David here
I love Kris , he should have listen to Matt.. “do Archuleta” ..He should have chosen his song that will showcase his strength…Kris might go home tonight…
Well in hindsight there is only one Archuleta. His voice alone (if you open your mind and soul) can make you forget anything….HE CAN ROCK ANY SONG IN HIS OWN SPECIAL WAY…
P.S I am going to download the studio versions and compare them to the live performances
VEE… Well in hindsight there is only one Archuleta
Truer words have ever been spoken.. and Thank GOD in Heaven we got to experience THIS one.
Well, I was a kid again today for the first time in decades…wow, that sounds old. I didn’t think that one could ever feel that way again.
Thank you Abrra, marlie, knotliser and Dawn for the special CDs and bookmark. I am going away tomorow for some appointments and they will go with me alone in the car and take up residence there so that I can have my desired volume. The girls and their screams will soon fade into the background as David’s voice over powers them.
Once again thank you for your thoughtfulness.
SB
VEE & other Pinoy Archies here -- have you seen this?
David saying “Salamat” (Thank You) and “Mahal Kita” (I Love You)
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
9 more sleep-ins and am losing it!!!!!
Thanks to everyone involved in getting me a cd!!! It is awesome!!! Thank you!! Thank you!! I am LOVIN it!!!
Dawn65 your post really touched me. Refnaf your post as well which really got me thinking about why I check in here often. Especially since I have never done anything like this before and can’t imagine doing it for anyone else.
For me, it really is mostly about David, but trust me if you were not all such an uplifting community of individuals I would have been long gone. Life is too short and sometimes to hard to fill it full of negatives.
I noticed something as I was catching up on your posts. Some are sweet. Some make me laugh out loud. Some make me think. But they are all full of words like, love, thank you, share, I miss you, special, joy, happy, crazy(in a good way), excited, getting together, laugh, smile, WOW, glorious, charming, angel. I could go on and on but it is such a good feeling to know that we are all here sharing something very positive, beautiful and fun together. I know it is not always rosy but it seems to me to always be honest, genuine and heartfelt.
Kizzi,
I love your stories. Not just the David aspect (which I love, of course.) But you catch the reactions of everyone around you! Just what I wanted to hear!
And that place is so steeped in history. I am glad you included some historical facts. I am a scottish history nut!
Funnygirl,
You are living up to your name. Please post more often. That is a very enjoyable video. (nice way to put it, don’tcha think?!)
David is losing his inhibitions on stage. Heck, he’s lost them. And we are reaping the benefits.
Dawn,
You write everything I think. I believe we were separated at birth.
Tessielynn, Love your last paragraph.
FG, Appreciated your thrust alert! I know we can always count on you to spot Archuthrusts a mile away! lol
Dawn, “Just when I don’t think he can turn it up a notch.. he finds a whole new playing field and starts over.” Yep!!
My ears started burning.. I must have felt ya’ll talking about me. LOL
Glad everyone is enjoying their CDs.
I’ve been inspired… am trying to put something together .. so we’ll see.
David should be going to bed soon.. he seems a bit tired. I believe by the time he posted his blog last night, it must have been close to 2 AM … he’s too much.. he’s way too good for us.
tessielyn #71, your post really touched me — so lovely and true!
FunnyGirl, ROTFL!
jr4DA, I’m so thrilled for you and will pray for sunny skies over Mah-nee-la!
And you’ll never guess who I just tweeted? Nope. Guess again.
John freakin’ Cleese!! And I’m only on the thing because of David.
What a joy ride this is!
Here’s Cleese’s last tweet, just fyi:
I forgot to recharge myself overnight. I may not be able to contin
Love him.
kizzi -- I really enjoy your telling of your experience. Not only David details but the surrounding reactions to David being so far away from home have been so positive and I’m glad for that. Mr. Kizzi is one special person. Thank him for all he’s done for my ODD.
beebee -- you have a request…lol ZG merry go around..you are famous on youtube and here of course!
JR -- I’m so excited for you! Will pray for dry weather. Thank you for all the video links.
dfliz -- Happy David Anniversary….what a ride.
FG -- You tell it like it is… I hadn’t even noticed…lol
dawn65 #44 -- you write that with no time… I loved it…He is overwhelming.
David started this craziness in my life and it’s because of him that I come here, but like the rest have stated it’s because of the people here that I stay.
Just found this on the McFly sight, posted by the UK fangirls:
he was sooo cute last night! I have a new found love for this dude seriously!
yay!
we could see them, they could see us! /ramble
I was dancing my arse off and singing to every song, and he noticed and smiled at me
I swear he could see us really good, last night, it seemed the lights were on us too, which was great

he was so cute! when he smiles he just makes me want to smile, his whole face lights up
my video views have SHOT up since i posted it here, i think its been linked to a fansite lol
and this …
oh my goodness he was awesome last night! he sang to me and my sister and looked suprised that we knew the words at all!
(another country, falling for David ~ and they’ve got it bad, poor girls! He touches every person in his path! Incredible!)
Thrust alert ROTFL! I am fascinated with the guy’s hips. and torso. and face. and nostrils. and and and….
How does a person get to be a guest author here, or write an article? I’ve had one on my mind for sometime now, but can you believe I was too shy to ask? LOL
FunnyGirl #54: (Gasp!) Clutch the pearls I can’t believe what I’m seeing!
I’m so completely delighted with how David’s handled this tour and the effect he’s having. One song at a time, one fan at a time, one country at a time. We’ve always known this would happen and each day it progresses. I still go back and watch the Idol performances and then the wonder of it all becomes so real. Now I’m getting anxious to get him back here again.. . stateside. Then we can gear up for the summer fun.
Speaking of fun, I hope David reads John Mayer’s tweets because they are some of the most clever, clearly hilarious mental musings I’ve read. His mind is a labyrinth.

Please pass the fire extinguisher…………..

Peruu #29, Thanks anyway. I hadn’t planned on going to two shows. I got vip tix for Fresno because they had sold out in San Jose and Sacramento (although the very next day they announced the upgrades, grrrrrr). But now my daughter wants to go to the San Jose show so we can meet up with a fan friend we met in Reno and ticketmaster keep trying to give me crapy seats.
DavidfanLIZ #35, finding David is certainly one of those better-late-than-never occasions, Happy Aniversery!
Jackryan4da #1 & 69, your excitement about getting to see/hear David sing live for the first time makes me even more excited that I will get to experience THE VOICE again next month. I think I am more excited this time than I was previously. I think that is because the David I last saw in Reno is NOT the David I will see in Del Mar. He has stepped up his game that much more.
Funnygirl #54, Speaking of Reno, when David was sing DLG, my daughter who had not follow his progression on his solo tour, stopped and asked me, “Did he just thrust? Is he thrusting?” So yeah, you gotta keep an eagle eye on this guy you never know what he’s gonna slip in next, lol. Especially as Betsy #72 mentions, he’s losing his inhibition more and more. YOWZA!!!
Vee #66 and others, thanks for all latest videos. Very nice subtle changes to some of the songs. David is ON his mission and he’s going to kill us all way before he hits his two year mark.
la la la la .. plugging my ears.. we can’t get into talking about seeing David yet.. I can’t… I have to push it out of my mind..because if I stop for one hot second and think that I will be face to face with him in 49 days… I may seriously have a nervous breakdown.
don’t make me boycott… I’m having too much fun right now
Dawn
I Imagine a lot of new videos will be up. How can you avoid him? /smile
Abrra
What a neat gift I found at my front door! Awwww.
Thank you Abbra, Dawn, Knot and Mmarlie, I loved the ribbon and the bookmark (I am a compulsive reader with 5 or 6 books going at any one given time.)
I am so impresssed with the work and care that was put into it. WOW, JUST WOW! haha
How can you avoid him?
oh WATCH me… I’m becoming quite good at it.
I have to stay focused… do you all really want me quivering on the floor at NJPAC? That will be bad.. very bad.
debra.. you’re welcome.
Debra
Glad you like it! It’s a good listen too
Abrra
Anybody watching AI right now? I saw from his twitter that David was able to watch last night. He said “it brought back memories. I feel for them.”
Happy anniversary, Liz!
I hope David’s memories aren’t too painful (isn’t this the same time last year that the media kicked into high gear with all that stage dad stuff?).
Squeeee!!! They jut showed clips from David’s homecoming last year!
“Oh my gosh! Where do they park?”
ha ha!
HG-SQUEEEEE! I am so glad they showed him!!! I wonder if he is watching tonite…..and can I say I think Paula Lip-sinked!! haha
That would be funny if David was watching!
Dang it! Allison didn’t make the Top 3! And after Danny broke the sound barrier last night? WTH?!
She was my other favorite after Adam.
ALTNOY playing in the French bar right now.
Too bad — seems to be just the one video.
I am so sad that Allison is off. Soo much talent. So young and yet so gifted. hmmm… who does that remind me of?
Funnygirl #79 If you have an idea for an article, just go to the top of this page and select CONTACT and send me a brief note about your article and I will forward it to this month’s Editor. We love guest writers!
I hope we get to hear more of Allison in future. She’s really talented. Yeah, River, a 17 year old gifted singer. Where have I heard that before?
Gosh! It sucks that she’s not in the Top 3. Danny so deserved to go. Sigh.
HG: I intended to watch AI tonight, but I forgot LOL. Aw, poor Allison. At least they kept Kris. Is it possible that it will be Kris against Adam? A singer who stays “real” vs. a rocker? Hmmm, where have we had that before?
Marlie, it would be cool to have a Kris v. Adam showdown, but there’s this Danny Gokey factor, and I haven’t yet figured out his appeal nor WHO in this great big country of ours is actually tossing him votes. Who?
He’s got capable vocals, but nothing out of the ordinary (except for that primal scream heard round the world last night -- did you know that there are now ringtones of it? Seriously!). He’s not cute or anything. He comes off as arrogant. And yet he outlasts my Allison. Probably because he was so horrid last night.
Sigh. This show…this show!
I wonder if David will tweet about it.
I loved Allison, and so did David! I hope he calls her to encourage her! She’s an ArchAngel!
I also love Danny & Kris, and think Adam should have gone home ~ but that ain’t happening anytime soon!
I know, everybody has a different opinion, but I just hate what Adam did to The Star Spangled Banner ~ can’t get over it!
Glad we can all agree on David!
Sorry, Kipper, but Adam’s winning the whole shebang.
And, yes, glad we’re all loving David instead!
HG, believe me, I know that! But I ain’t liking it, not one bit. Have you seen his Star Spangle Banner? It’s on MJ’s blog today. It’s also on YouTube.
Actually, no I haven’t seen his SSB. I’m almost afraid to watch! ha ha!
Sorry ~ Star “Spangled” Banner.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-BwGjhg-J8
This performance is a joke right?
Can I say I’m happy Danny Gokey is safe? Bwahahahah
I’m not watching AI this year -- can’t be bothered. It’s just that it sickens me to see the hate directed at Gokey on certain blogs. It’s gratuitious and unfair to a guy who seems clueless rather than smug. Cook was smug, but was a rocker so that was deemed okay. Oh, please!
Anyway, nothing will ever sound more beautiful, pure and ethereal than David’s voice on that bloody stage. It was like light piercing through darkness.
Regarding David’s voice. He needs to rest a little and get back to his practice routine with Dean or someone else who can actually help him find a comfortable place for him to perform tough songs like ALTNOY and CRUSH. These songs are beautiful hungry beasts. I can’t think of other male singers that could deliver such songs. Yes, I worry!
Better late than never..David will be waking up in a couple of hours..But I hope he’s sleeping well and having sweet dreams..
For David..
Dear Lord,
Please take care of David.
Valbraz, I’m just annoyed because Allison deserved Danny’s Top 3 spot. She really did. And if America actually, you know, voted for the best performances, all would be right with the world (and David would have won American Idol last year).
Alas, that’s not how the world works, and certainly not AI.
Valbraz, you’re exactly right! And I’m sorry I watched AI this Season, because it’s only made me fightin’ MAD! And yes, we don’t have “light piercing thru darkness” this time around! Quite the contrary!
And now that I’ve caused a minor revolution, I need to say Goodnight and call it quits!
No tomatoes please!
I think I’ll say good night too. It’s getting late for me.
G’nite all!
Ok, HG. I see what you mean. From the little I’ve watched I actually believe Allison is better than all of the guys. I see nothing in Adam other than range. Kris has the kind of musicality and tone that pleases my ears but has a weak voice. Gokey has a strong voice and nice tone but limited musical knowledge, I guess.
Looks like girls can’t win any longer in reality shows. Big Brother Brazil is just the same and it maddens me. Girls are there to show their nice bodies and spice up the parties. Even when they’re decent, sensible people they always lose to a guy. I decided to quit watching both shows last year.
ONE Ticket for the David Archuleta LA Concert on July 17th is available for sale from a TDC member. Please use the contact page if you are interested and I will hook you up with the seller.
I must oonfess that I am pretty sure David has ruined American Idol for me.
I have tried to get into it this season. Really I have! But it just has not happened for me. I actually did not even watch it this week. I stopped pretending and admitted to myself that I am really not in to any of them. Yes they have talent. But nothing that draws me in. Sorry American Idol, but unless you find someone as amazing as David I just don’t know how much more I can watch, unless of course David is on the show!
Goodnight!
confess
Hello everyone,
For the night owlers….here’s something that I’ve enjoyed a while back. It was posted in FOD before and have forgotten about it until my daughter reminded me about it tonight.
This medley is one that will withstand time. A classic indeed.
Enjoy,
esperda (mostly a lurker)
Loved the homecoming clips of David on AI tonight! Thanks for all the anniversary wishes everybody LOL! I know we all have our personal stories of when we first encountered David. Thanks for letting me share mine.
Guys, I just posted the OXFORD videos at the OXFORD page
JR -- thanks for doing this!
For those keeping HD file of anything David,

Crush (complete)
ZG (partial)
Esperda…love it. I’ve never seen that video before. Thank you.
dawn #44 -- loved this post. So pensive and heartfelt and esp love this: “Sometimes we as a society tend not to see “The Big Picture”.. and our perceptions are often inaccurate, because we focus on an area that we expect to see progress… and we are actually missing out on what’s happening because he haven’t stepped far enough back. I’ve taught myself long ago to never expect progress where I’m LOOKING for it.. but trust that it’s being made…….
Now DAVID.. blows my theory all to heck and back.” …..and this is just beautifully written:
“…. Attractive not only in physical appearance…but this inner charm and charisma.. kindness…generosity…topped off with the silky smooth voice that vibrates my heart.”
JR -- Will wish for clear skies for the 16th in Manilla. Can feel your excitement & think it’s just great. You have been more than patient while supporting our ODD. Too bad about no broadcast on the TFC channel, as my daughter in law (mostly phillipino) had made plans to watch (record, maybe?) at her neighbors house. She’s also encouraging me to attend the concert in Fairfax, VA. by their house, as we plan to back east at that time. We’ll see. Not sure how much planning I can do with my husbands chemo.
My first David concert will be July 14th. I will be venturing out on my own, as I could only get one ticket close to the stage. Everyone was relieved, as I’m the only DA fan in my family. I’m trying again & have notified everyone that I’m busy that day. Hopefully, it’ll happen this time. Don’t know what I’ll do if it doesn’t.
Kipper -- thanks for those mcfly posts. Love all the loving he’s getting. Keep um coming.
Guys, I have also posted the Croydon videos on the Croydon page. Set is now complete.
HG @ #99 -- through am not a fan of Adam, I found his Mad World performance truly brilliant. That last note, WOW!
BUT, if you are talking of arrogance, Adam in all his brilliance could use a dose of humility. One example of why he does not get me: after Adam & Allison’s duet, Simon declared that Adam might have given Allison a shot at the finals. And how did Adam react? “I hope so…” WT???
And that was just after the episode where Matt was eliminated. Confidently choosing the pair that Adam thought was safe (Gokey & Allison), he got the shock of his life when he was not even bottom 3, but bottom 2. That should have clued him on something -- that is if the voting is not being manipulated -- by this time, who knows!
Gokey may not look the Idol part but he is natural talent. He has the charisma of Taylor Hicks but with better and more serious chops. Am not putting down Hicks, ok?
I find Allison interesting. Too bad she didn’t reach Top 3. Kirk Allen may even be the dark horse. He has that quiet smoldering presence. He reminds me of Jason, but he has something more.. couldn’t put a finger on it.
This year’s batch of Idol is so… I dunno… flat, at least for me. They just could not elicit the kind of interest that Season7 did. Am not even talking about our David. The S7′s Top10 could dance circles around S8′s.
With Allison now out of contention, I wouldn’t mind a Gokey-Kirk finale. That’s how repulsed I am of Adam being in the Top 2. But I have no doubt that Adam will have a career after idol. He is a seasoned performer already.
But it has to be said: nobody comes close to our David. GAH!
Go check out his Oxford and Croydon vids. Thrust Alert is hereby raised. Ok, FunnyGirl? LOL
KIPPER -- I missed your entry re your loss. {{{HUGS}}} to you!

This is a bit off topic , but You mentioned before about your name referencing a girl in a painting. I came across this article in my local paper. It is from The Washington Post. You may have to register, but its free.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/24/AR2009042402232.html
The subject is about the man who makes optical 3D copies of the painting to study certain aspects of the technique.
I have the newspaper clipping that I am happy to send along in snail mail if you like.
Abrra
Thanks for the article, Abrra.
That’s really interesting. I wish my sister, who’s a talented amateur painter, could read English. She’d be able to appreciate Stork’s research much better than me.
I think you have confused me with another poster, though. I know we have a poster named Vermeer. My name is a combination of my name, Val for short, and my country, Brazil.
fanda… thank you.. I’m sorry I missed your post earlier… I’m boycotting.. so haven’t had much time to catch up… but I would never ignore you
