Thanks for the article, Abrra.

That's really interesting. I wish my sister, who's a talented amateur painter, could read English. She'd be able to appreciate Stork's research much better than me.
I think you have confused me with another poster, though. I know we have a poster named Vermeer. My name is a combination of my name, Val for short, and my country, Brazil.

Valbraz

This is a bit off topic , but You mentioned before about your name referencing a girl in a painting. I came across this article in my local paper. It is from The Washington Post. You may have to register, but its free.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/24/AR2009042402232.html

The subject is about the man who makes optical 3D copies of the painting to study certain aspects of the technique.
I have the newspaper clipping that I am happy to send along in snail mail if you like.

Guys, I have also posted the Croydon videos on the Croydon page. Set is now complete.

HG @ #99 - through am not a fan of Adam, I found his Mad World performance truly brilliant. That last note, WOW!

BUT, if you are talking of arrogance, Adam in all his brilliance could use a dose of humility. One example of why he does not get me: after Adam & Allison's duet, Simon declared that Adam might have given Allison a shot at the finals. And how did Adam react? "I hope so..." WT???

And that was just after the episode where Matt was eliminated. Confidently choosing the pair that Adam thought was safe (Gokey & Allison), he got the shock of his life when he was not even bottom 3, but bottom 2. That should have clued him on something - that is if the voting is not being manipulated - by this time, who knows!

Gokey may not look the Idol part but he is natural talent. He has the charisma of Taylor Hicks but with better and more serious chops. Am not putting down Hicks, ok?

I find Allison interesting. Too bad she didn't reach Top 3. Kirk Allen may even be the dark horse. He has that quiet smoldering presence. He reminds me of Jason, but he has something more.. couldn't put a finger on it.

This year's batch of Idol is so... I dunno... flat, at least for me. They just could not elicit the kind of interest that Season7 did. Am not even talking about our David. The S7's Top10 could dance circles around S8's.

With Allison now out of contention, I wouldn't mind a Gokey-Kirk finale. That's how repulsed I am of Adam being in the Top 2. But I have no doubt that Adam will have a career after idol. He is a seasoned performer already.

But it has to be said: nobody comes close to our David. GAH!

Go check out his Oxford and Croydon vids. Thrust Alert is hereby raised. Ok, FunnyGirl? LOL

KIPPER - I missed your entry re your loss. {{{HUGS}}} to you!

JR - Will wish for clear skies for the 16th in Manilla. Can feel your excitement & think it's just great. You have been more than patient while supporting our ODD. Too bad about no broadcast on the TFC channel, as my daughter in law (mostly phillipino) had made plans to watch (record, maybe?) at her neighbors house. She's also encouraging me to attend the concert in Fairfax, VA. by their house, as we plan to back east at that time. We'll see. Not sure how much planning I can do with my husbands chemo.

My first David concert will be July 14th. I will be venturing out on my own, as I could only get one ticket close to the stage. Everyone was relieved, as I'm the only DA fan in my family. I'm trying again & have notified everyone that I'm busy that day. Hopefully, it'll happen this time. Don't know what I'll do if it doesn't.

Kipper - thanks for those mcfly posts. Love all the loving he's getting. Keep um coming.

dawn #44 - loved this post. So pensive and heartfelt and esp love this: "Sometimes we as a society tend not to see “The Big Picture”.. and our perceptions are often inaccurate, because we focus on an area that we expect to see progress… and we are actually missing out on what’s happening because he haven’t stepped far enough back. I’ve taught myself long ago to never expect progress where I’m LOOKING for it.. but trust that it’s being made.......

Now DAVID.. blows my theory all to heck and back." .....and this is just beautifully written:

".... Attractive not only in physical appearance…but this inner charm and charisma.. kindness…generosity…topped off with the silky smooth voice that vibrates my heart."
