Songs in the Key of David-5: A Campaign
We want to submit the song ONE, by U2 and MJ Blige. This is a song David can shine on. He has proven during the Solo Tour that he can sing this as well as Bono and MJ Blige. He has the vocal range and would bring so much intensity to the song. Abrra has even gone so far as to make a YouTube tribute to David with ONE as the music track.
Bebereader is asking that TDC support a letter writing campaign. She asks that we all hand write a request to David to sing the full version …..maybe he will pass them along to JIVE. Our VIP folks can deliver the letters to David. Go ahead and write the letters. We are working on where to send them and will post the address as soon as we get it settled.

I’m sooo excited! I just can’t hide it!
I heard David sing part of this song many many times. But could you believe that this is the first time that I am reading the lyrics of One in entirety? Wow, it is beautiful. No wonder it is always referred to as one of the greatest songs. I am in.

I’m in for writing ~ please bear in mind ~ that the only way David can record another artists song is to purchase rights. To MY knowledge U2 has been pretty tight with their copyrights.

Love, love this song..David’s version. I didn’t realize he left out some words in the verse he sings and he substitutes ‘Darlin’ for ‘baby’ and makes it better in his own way. The arrangement and the voice on the short snippet he sings is fabulous.
Please write a short note on a postcard requesting that David be able to sing the full version on his next CD. I am not sure who will volunteer to bring the notes to VIP M&G? Or How we can get the mailing address of the person to send them to. Perhaps someone has a business PO box and will be going VIP soon.
