Tee-Hee: Mission Accomplished
Oh I know that you guys will be happy for me, for the Pinoy Archies. A lot of us spend w hole lot of crazy time as you guys do on cyberspace just to be at pace with him. The diff is just you see him LIVE while we see him through a small screen…. until now.
We had dinner with Mike & Eli (am still uploading the pix) while the 2 Davids were having Dinner with the Sony execs.
But here is my personal good news before I post the 2 recaps I just finished —
Without meaning to, I bumped into David last night — and a slew of bodyguards.
OOOOOMMMYYYYYYGAH! So yeah, I went down the hotel lobby to get something from my car. On my way back to the room where some Archies are staying, I started giggling with the prospects of crossing paths with him at the lobby at that hour (10pm) – yeah JR, dream on!
Lo and behold, several feet away, I saw Mr. Burly Bodyguard #1 coming down the mezzanine. (They are always in black shirts btw). I told myself, naaaaaaaaaah, can’t be. My eyes must be deceiving me, as I continue to walk. But a split second later, I saw a pair of legs, omgah, those sneakers!
As I cut a corner to my left, he was there!!!!!!! Just a couple of feet away from me – in that atomic fashion. I will forever love that corner as I made my lame ‘haaaaaaay David’ and he beamingly countered ‘OH HI!’ with a wave, killer-smile + a skip! Did I mention killer-smile?
ME: haaaayyy david (voice croaking & hand lamely waving)
DA: OH HI! (with that matching killer smile, wave and skip!)
And that’s it…
Despite being just 2 feet away
Despite going in the same direction (to the elevator)
Despite holding a handycam and a 3G phone
All I was able to muster was a LAME haaaayyyy david — croaking at that! I knew something was wrong cos why was I waving like a retard? How come things were like going in slowmo?
And how come I didn’t use my 2 videocams on hand? waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!
You see, since morning, a group of tweenies have squattered (for lack of a better term) in the waiting area near the elevator in the hotel wing where David is staying. So apparently, they were still there.
“David! David! Can we have pictures with your David?!” And I heard him: “Oh am so sorry, I can’t stay!” More flashes, more screams as I turn the same right corner.
Oh the lanky guy? He started running as the girls screamed. Goodness, he was also an Archie just keeping his cool.
So am almost at the elevator, when I saw the tail of the ‘atomic David’ go to the fire exit. The screaming kids? All slayed and spent in the sofa of the waiting area LOL
Notice, after my lame ‘haaaaay David’, I kept my cool. So I took my elevator ride, punched __/F peacefully – probably still in shock it was more like it when the elevator opened on the __/F. W/o seeing anyone when the elevator doors opened, I heard a woman’s voice from the right side of the hall “Omygosh! You walked the stairs?!”
Then still not seeing anyone, I heard an angelic voice from the right side of the hallway “Yeeeeah, needed to”. I swear I heard that and it sounded uttered with a smile.
Elevator door closes, when it suddenly hit me, I would be seeing the angelic voice appear in the horizon! Too late.. too late… as the elevator ascends…
RECAP #1: MAY 12, 2009 (DAY 1)
Yet TODAY will be forever etched in my memory as one of those perfect days. A day as sweet as the mangoes he has sampled this afternoon and which I seasonally enjoy NOTE: The Philippine-grown mango is known to be the best tasting, worldwide. The best ones locally are cultivated from Guimaras Island, Visayas Region
So, did I see David today? NO.
That is not the reason why this day is perfect.
Mission Accomplished
I have refrained from sharing on this site much of the frustrations we Archies here in Manila had to put up with, ever since this back-to-back concert was announced. I rant every now and then but has not given you details or the total picture. Even in Archuleta Philippines (AP), I opted to send private messages to core members.
But I adhere to this memorable line from the film “Dreams of an Insomniac” – “Anything less than passion is simply a waste of my time”. So I know that despite the frustrations, there are ways to make things happen. You just have to work for it and boy, work we did!
AT THE ARRIVAL AREA: Our day started at 5AM. Picked-up LOUISE, an AP Archie, to bring the banners, gifts and flowers to the airport. By 6am and on-site already meeting a number of Archies there. After all, David tweetered he was heading off early to bed for an early flight to Manila!
David… David.. David… His plane landed at 2:47pm LOL. So what did we do, all that time?
Well, it turned out that no permit was secured and that the protocol is to secure it at least 3 days in advance. oh…oh…
Being the Golden Archie in the group, I was called upon to talk to airport officials. LOL. Which worked in our favor actually cos well… tenacity is not my middle name for nothing
The Mission: Secure a pass for the fans at whatever cost, whatever form permissible! At the outset, this was the objective cos we wanted to make sure that our David experience the much vaunted Filipino hospitality. Sounds easy, right?
NOPE. Cos of N1H1 (formerly known as swine flu), security alert was high. All special passes/permits to the arrival area had been canceled which means only those connected with the production and its media partners would have limited access. Fan clubs, out.
But I have my own agenda: MY GOAL was to turn around the impression that our David has no pull or is a lesser draw than the other David. This, I got from the promoters and media partners I talked to. This was like a lead that I had been carrying in my heart a month prior to arrival. Then I have to hear that no M&G was being arranged for DA because it was David’s camp who are hard to deal with, refusing M&G, with many restrictions, etc.. — believable?
Whichever way, our pleading has been made for us. So how can we achieve both targets?
8AM, so off we go to the 1st line of defense
Louise and I found ourselves talking to the Corporal (I think that is what she is called). They were nice and sympathetic to our “cause” but because of N1H1, we were in a bind.
ME: We are not asking for special access in the lobby. We are not after talking or meeting David at this point. All we want is to have a secure spot where his entourage will passby so David can see us, his fans & our banners!
OFFICER: We cannot give you that info. Nothing was coordinated with us re his arrival. Cook’s was coordinated.
ME: (Ignoring the last sentence, lest I lose it) But Filipinos are known for being ingenious (ma-abilidad). Surely at your level, there has to be a way to help us without leaking sensitive info?
OFFICER: Why don’t you talk to the Media Affairs or the Customer Relations Office? They may be able to assist you to gain access to Archuleta. Here is my number and let me know immediately if you got what you need. If not, let me see what we can do.
LOUISE/ME: Thank you, thank you!
LOUISE: (taking out her LAST copy of David’s CD from her bag) Thank you mam for your help. (Officer was visibly touched, I was floored! her last CD!)
8:10AM, off to the 2nd line of defense
LOUISE: JR, I’ll go back to group to update them.
ME: Ok.(Approached the info desk, explained our situation with CRO… then they called someone, talked to him on the phone… then he was there with me, then he escorted me back to 1st line of defense)
More discussion until an arrangement was reached but with a condition: Their boss needs to approve it – the assistant general or something.
OFFICER: Ok, please come back in an hour when our boss is already here.
ME: I understand. (Thanked everyone & left). Time: 8:30am
By this time: we got AP’s text update that David’s flight is delayed. Good, given the circumstances.
9:30AM 3rd line of defense
ME: Am back
OFFICER: (smiling, offered me a seat) Oh, he just arrived! You can now go with him to his office
He was actually behind me all along! So we talked, again explained our situation. He was very nice and said that if only there were no N1H1 alert, there would have been no problem assisting us. But was curiously looking at me and was incredulous that that is only what we wanted. he was probably thingking: where is the catch? LOL. Our plan was ok with him but under those special circumstances, even him needed to go through his boss. So he asked one of the staff to escort me to the General’s office — the actual head of the airport security!
9:45AM 4th & last line of defense
Staff explained the situation to the secretary. General was in a meeting so I have to talk to EA. Staff & EA talked some more. Then the friendly staff motioned for me to approach and whispered that she thinks we can broker an agreement w/ the EA.
So we talked. She was also very helpful and very professional and actually tried a couple of ideas with another department.
She was more familiar with Cook so I showed her the magazine that I had with me – Yes SF! the LIFE STORY MAG – but I wasn’t giving that up!
Then she told me that they cannot do anything. They received several requests also from other groups but no one was approved.
Besides there was no time as he is coming in at 1PM via Singapore Airlines.
I corrected her. That can’t be Archie cos he was coming from UK, so he should be taking Qatar Airways. As both were using aliases, they doubted me. I told them I am sure of my info. Besides I am aware that they are using aliases and for sure – that was Cook arriving at 1pm. If Archie was not in the morning flight, then he must be taking the 2nd and last flight of the day from UK.
OFFICER3: Are you OK, mam?
ME: (hunched and uncovering my face with my hands) But that can’t be. This is such a simple request. All I know is that we are known as the most hospitable people in the world and we – the official DA fan club (hey, using official actually got their attention) – cannot even give our Idol a simple welcome?
EA: Ok, let me see what else I can do…
ME: Please, cos you know, am not going back there and tell those rabid fans who has been up as early as 4AM that all of their efforts would come to nothing (shaking my head)
EA: (Talking to someone on the phone & I heard her say to the other person on the phone) Ok, let’s try that.
By this time, the General’s meeting was over. When our request was explained to him, he also gave that incredulous look and asked if that was all we wanted — to have a spot in the arrival area, line up, show our banners and wave to David. SIMPLY welcome him, N1H1 or not. He repeated: “That’s all?” I nodded slowly while summoning all the innocence I could muster with my eyes haha!
FINALLY: Approval with the condition that we behave and not cause any security problem. (Somebody joked that they should hire me as my intel was good – bwahahahahahahahahahaha!) TIME – 10:30AM
Went back to the 1st line of defense to deliver the good news. I was to come back an hour before the Archie’s ETA so we can be escorted by security detailed to us.
By this time, Kricket of AP texted us that David is coming in on the next flight. Went back to the group who were clueless to the drama I had to go through that day. I got a kick when I saw them waiting with the GMA7 TV crew! With the good news delivered, we decided to move out and wait in a much cooler place and have lunch.
With lunch over, the Archies texted more Archies to come cos the flight was delayed. We were only 20 at that time. The airport is quite far, you see. So we need reinforcement and we have the time to alert others esp those who thought David has landed.
At 2PM, I went down to the corporal’s office and join the security who will assist us. Xeno, an Archie who came from New York had a bag of pastries for Archie. She willingly gave it up so we can give it as a token of gratitude for the wonderful airport officials! As David would say: “Thanks you guys!”
They even gave us a better location cos the original plan was to split the group to ensure that if David misses the 1st banner, there is still anther chance for him to see the other set of banners. But the group was requesting that it would be better if we be intact.
The airport officials also agreed to this last minute change and gave us that great spot you saw on youtube by now, right?
Will end this DAY01 RECAP with the following tidbits gathered from airport staff and the media (print & TV) who covered the events
4. Then one press guy came out and stationed himself by my side at the security post, parallel to David’s van which would ferry him to the hotel. I asked him what was he doing there?
5. He said he already enough pix and he couldn’t stand the pandemonium inside. The VIP Lounge was crazy. Everyone, as in everyone from Duty Free staff, airport staff, immigration and plane stewards/stewardesses wanted a piece of Archie.
Again you could see it in the posted vids at youtube that he could almost not move/walk and the cameras were almost touching his face with all the people wanting to get close to him!
One press guy said: “Grabe sa loob! Ibang klaseng hatak. Lutang yung bata! (his hand positioned under his face)” ROUGH TRANSLATION: It is crazy inside! That kid’s pull is really different. He glows!
7. One security officer even commented that “this is even crazier than the welcome Manny Pacquiao got! WOW”
8. Meanwhile, the Archies was interviewed & filmed by several press people.
9. When we were sure that David was coming out, pandemonium broke lose outside. One airport official told the press, “For me, that is the real story!” (pointing to the strategically located Archies)
10. In less than 5 minutes, David was gone. His van didn’t stop in front of the Archies as we expected.
11. We realized quite insanely why: he wasn’t in the van. As the entourage sped off with the van leading it, we realized belatedly that he and Jeff were in the next car. So the van was blocking their view and it was only when the van turned left that David saw the Archies with their colorful banners!
I saw him turn around at the back of the car to catch a last glimpse of his Archies. Am sure he was saying: OhMyGosh!
I was taking videos in all this time.
Then it was time to run to get my car, head to the hotel and upload whatever we can upload. Of course that was after the Archies had their celebratory cheers!
By 6pm, youtube was flooded with the airport scene, GMA-7 and ABS-CBN broadcasted their respective coverage.
Not a big draw? Has no pull? May I say: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED?!
Such a perfect day.

JR…what a lovely time spending time with David. The picture above is absolutely wonderful and there is such a peaceful, serene look on his face. It seems that wherever he goes whether it is visiting you, Asia or the UK, he seems a big part of his surroundings, fitting in beautifully.
The people are gracious very much like David.

Please take care of David. Watch over him, protect him from all harm. Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path. Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give. Surround David with loving and supportive people who love him UNCONDITIONALLY as we, his Archangels do. Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being. Give him rest when he’s weary. Give him stamina to sustain his hectic pace. Give him assurance when he feels doubt. Give him joy when he feels sad. Cloak him always in your protective arms during this time on his journey. Keep David and HIS VOICE healthy & strong as he fulfills his Destiny which was written in his Book of Life before he was born. Please Lord, give us, David’s unconditional forever fans, the wisdom to know when to say no as well, especially when we want so much to do right by David. Open our eyes and help us in the way we support David so that it’s always in his best interests. Make his time in the Philippines a safe & happy time and all he hopes for and deserves! May his positive and good Karma continue to attract those with positive and good Karma! May he continue to encounter goodwill and happiness! May he continue to be healthy and strong throughout his journey in the Philippines. Though we may be unworthy, we humbly pray. Amen

1. As we wait for David to come out of the airport, the security detail asked me: Mam, are there other celebrities you would still welcome today?
I almost guffawed! I think am a marked woman in that terminal. Their faces were priceless.
MY REPLY: No, only Archie. I actually didn’t come here for Cook. (w/ raised hand) Promise! Oh, but wait… there is still the departure!
SECURITY: Ah that’s ok mam! That will be a different team!
bwahahahahahahahahahahhaha!
2. There was a point during the negotiations that I had to give out my business card. When they found out I was in a financial company, we started talking about the global financial crisis, etc… At the end, they were looking at me intently as if thinking: hmmmm… she IS sane, so what is she doing here
I told them -- I know that look! And though hard to believe, I am have a respectable position in the company! Am not some cra-zeh old woman! LOL.

RECAP DAY 01- PART 3: DINNER WITH MIKE & ELI
As you know Xeno is here in Manila (she is a New Yorker) and have bonded with the band. We met Eli & Mike at the hotel lobby.

1. David will release ZG AND with a better mix! Mike confirmed this. Jive finally saw the light! Mike (as the owner of the song) sent Jive a last minute offer, otherwise they are ready to give it to another artist as they have been shopping that song around for quite some time. Jives decision came only last week. Mike said they cranked up the mix -- GAH!
To my question, why Jive didn’t like ZG in the 1st place -- Mike said he also didn’t understand it.
I suppose the UK reaction sealed the deal for them or probably the tons of mail they are getting from the fans. LOL
2. From the UK Tour, Mike & Eli shared that they had quite an unbelievable reception, except for Oxford. It wasn’t bad but not as excited as the other venues. I just teased him that they are probably getting spoiled getting the audience all worked up
3. While in Manila, the band gets plenty of R&R -- as David does the PR round.
4. Except for Kendra, none of them are Mormons. I seem to recall reading somewhere that declared they were. But they really see how important is David’s Faith to him and totally respect him for that.
5. Remember all the wondering why the band didn;t blog during UK? That was because the internet connection was very bad there! Can you believe that?! Well David did say it was lame…
The 1st blog we got from the band was from ELI -- on the plane on their way home LOL.
5. For them Manila was the best & warmest reception they’ve ever had. And totally unexpected.
I countered no — it was Malaysia. David couldn’t get out and had to use another route to avoid the mass of fans waiting for him.
Mike corrected me -- “But we weren’t there…” Hah! That totally escaped me!
6. MIKE & ELI asked if we have seen the latest videos — hah! Does he need to ask that, right? LOL.
7. And where was ALEX? He wasn;t feeling well. Too much alcohol on the plane. Me thinks he forgot he was going to a tropical place -- tee-hee!
Anw, he said that if we are blown away by David during UK — we better get ready for May 16. DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN!

JR, I said it in response to Chenson’s review, and I’ll say it here. I love, love, love that Archies fans are globally placed so we can get a constant 411 wherever David travels. Your recaps about everything David related this week are lovely.
I do believe we already have our Latin American hookups (when David inevitably travels there). And Australia and Canada are already representing at TDC.
All we need for him to cover the full globe is an African continent hookup (for David must travel there eventually, especially to promote his Invisible Children charity) and possibly a Middle East hookup? (David did say he wants to explore Qatar some more -- ha ha!)
Even the penguins in Antarctica are likely to become Arch Angels!

Abrra..Yes, but what’s wrong with having lunch or dinner with the group? She’s never seen with them as a group. Nothing wrong with that. I still say she must be feeling kinda lonely as the only female. Really has nothing to do with her being Mormon. JMO.
Also, I was thinking how popular and loved David is in other parts of the globe and we are now finding out JUST HOW MUCH..so I stll can’t wrap my head around the fact that he is coming home to be the opening act for Demi. It just does not compute in my mind. I guess she is very popular with the teens who watch Disney TV. But I still don’t get it.
We read about Kendra being with them in the “bar” in the UK. I saw her in that .08 sec video of David saying Hi to the camera at hotel stairs(she was in back going down the steps). She my be off camera a lot as those who take pictures focus so much on HIM

Since it’s a big venue and there is considerable space between the stage and the front row, no use expecting to experience the archugaze during the concert.
IF we find a way to get backstage passes, perhaps after the concert… but not counting on it.
As mentioned before, the chances are greater that I will meet David up-close if I attend a concert there than in my own hometown. Strange, i know…

JR…I can’t get over the gorgeous pictures of David, I have never see him more content in where he is or what he is doing. He seems so relaxed and without pressures that he seems to have at home.

I have read in the tweeters from David just how much he appeciates and enjoys the energy and attitudes that are shown to him. So very many interviewers in North America have cheap jokes and make fun of anything they can find about him instead of talking seriously and speaking about the real reasons someone is there. David speaks in all honesty when he mentions how he is received by all of the people there. Maybe Ryan Seacrest and friends should attend a few classes.
My hope is that how he is percieved by the whole world will be a lesson to the DJs, interviewers and others back home.
David treats people so wonderfully well and he seems to be receiving the same respect back.

SF #50: Mandatory overtime?? Wow, consider yourself lucky (unless of course you are salaried)!! In my profession(nursing-@ the patient care level), we are sent home early or asked not to come in if the census is down….esp. with the recent economic downturn. All of my co-workers are short many hours each paycheck (only management is salaried). I am always safe b/c I am the only nurse on night shift so they cannot send ME home!!
Oh….cannot wait for the concert tomorrow!!! What time will we be able to hear it here in the states??

You noticed too…. He sounds sooooo gooooooddddd…. I wonder how much more is his voice going to deepen.
marlie7…his voice is sounding richer with some of the lower notes…he had a little crack in his voice towards the ending I think of this one. He has had to talk so much that I imagine he would have voice rest if he could…the demands for his voice are great.
Angelica…first there is the Archugaze and of course the Archustrut…so well defined and so his. Remember when Elvis sang with a lei (is that the correct name?). Elvis made some pretty good eye contact himself.

marlie7…I saw that pic. and was wondering myself what David thinks of it…His eyes must be wide already as I am sure they rehearsed. They wouldn’t set this up without knowing the numbers I would guess. A big surprise really as I didn’t know that David and David were that well known…like in the tens of thousands.

pabuckie…as different as Elvis is from David they still have some similarities. Elvis had a great love for his family, especially his mother…what a good boy! He loved people and had a closeness with his fans at a concert. Once in awhile I see fleeting images of Elvis when David is performing. Elvis definitely had a strut of his own and a gorgeous smile as well.
David has transformed (that’s the meaning of my butterfly) into the SUPERSTAR he has become, right before our eyes.
Sandybeaches YES sometimes I see a lot of similarities (although I agree they are very different) but even during those press conferences with David Cook just watching his body gestures, his hands and sometimes the way he holds the mic reminds me of something about ELVIS. But, David is David and he just mesmerizes me, I could watch him ALL DAY with no sound! Ha-ha!

pabuckie…I haven’t watched the press conferences he had along with Cook yet, so I will have to look them up. I like to watch him without sound sometimes, especially if I know that my family is quite tired of hearing screaming girls! There is a lot to look at while reading his face in the quiet.

SandyBeaches -- you will absolutely love WATCHING David at those press conferences. There were actually 6 separate videos I watched but they had like an echo and I couldn’t understand what was really being said. Some things you could make out here and there but for the most part I couldn’t. It didn’t matter I was GLUED to David’s gestures, facial expressions and just his movements. He was AWESOME to look at. I’m telling you go watch them -- I was never as much enthralled just looking at his expressions as I was at this press conference. He is so grounded!

I just wanted to say how I love the soulful side of DAVID very much too! He mentioned “THESE WORDS” by Natasha Beddingfield at the press conference as a song he can really relate to right now and I listened to it and I love it – it is very DAVID, soulful, bluesy, funky. He would be great at collaborating with Natasha one day. A big part of what drew me to DAVID was his soulfulness.

DAY 02 RECAP:
TO FACE AN ANGEL AT THE MOA M&G
2nd day and all I have seen is his outline at he back of his car while speeding away from the airport! But that’s ok cos I know today is D DAY! I will see him face-to-face. Weeeeeee!!!!
Am reminded of all the stories you shared meeting him for the 1st time. So I tell myself: You can do this, JR. You will keep your wits about you, be witty, even! I WILL BE COOL.
Today’s Mission
1. Meet him.
2. Greet him with simple tokens that has been sitting in my room since last year. Am so loco, no?
3. Have him sign my albums, mags, pix & a special t-shirt as my keepsake. LOL -- You will love the shirt! I will have it scanned after he signs it.
NOTE: I forgot to mention in my last recap: The Archies who had dinner with Mike & Eli that night had their albums signed by the two gorgeous band members of David! They were really so nice about it. I even have dedication to boot! So I need to get Alex sign the albums too!
4. If allowed, have pix with him. THUD.
5. Act normal/natural while accomplishing the foregoing. [Please God, just don't let me lose it in front of him!]
So armed with my gifts for David & family, went to work. My plan was to leave the office by 3pm after ascertaining that the Archies who would go there early can reserve seats for us still at work.
Would you believe that the Archies were there as early as 9AM?. The minute MOA opened -- they were there! Since the M&G was to be held in the MOA Atrium, it could be quite hot there by lunchtime. (the roof is made of fiber glass so when the sun is at its highest, it could be really hot!)
Did the Archies leave their posts? NA-AHHHH! Other fans sought the shade or took turns to eat from the restos surrounding the Atrium. The Archies in our group? Put up their umbrellas and ate at their posts. You bet they were not taking chances to lose their front row seats, LOL Now that is a scene I would have loved to have a pic of! Too bad, no one among them thought about it.
But that didn’t last as the MOA guards asked them to put down their umbrellas. Poor Archies (but am still chuckling).
1PM I got a text. Apparently, a banner was left in my car trunk! So I had to leave earlier than planned. But I cannot. I have some work to complete.
3PM, enoute to MOA, I was getting calls/texts left & right asking where I was and what time I was arriving. NAREE (who by the way is a doctor) texted: we need your expertise here!
OK, this is getting creepy, I told myself: There is now an expertise when it comes to being Archie?
4PM, I reached the Atrium. Turns out you have to buy an album to get in. But we have our albums already, right? So others still bought and re-used those receipts for other Archies not buying the album anymore. Our coordination was flawless LOL
So what was the problem needing my “expertise”? THE BANNERS -- we were not allowed to put up the banners on-site.
The place was jampacked already. But you could still walk the aisle of the venue. Every now & then, screams would erupt. False alarm. No Archhie yet.
Meanwhile, I was observing the dynamics of the place. After determining who best to talk to, I approached the mall officer and asked about the possibility of putting up our banners. He said no at 1st. Even if we offered that we will just hold them up at the appropriate time. He still said no. That’s the 2nd no already. Hmmmmm…..
Can you believe that? He said no to me?! Well, an archie on a mission….
I won’t bore you with the details but suffice it to say, after 5 minutes, he was even willing to have our banners put up by security where David can see them prominently
5PM almost no space to move now. Even the middle aisle is fully occupied by people all standing.
Then I just realized, looking at the stage: where is the table? How will David sign? So no signing, no picture-taking with him, no gift-giving.
Aahhh, he was only there to promote and for us to ogle and scream for him. Well this part was already a given but that meant my whole mission for that day got scratched.
Well not all. I may not be able to meet him, but I will definitely see him up-close as we were occupying front row seats. Wait let me correct that: we were occupying the 2nd row as the front row were all reserved -- which was fine cos the stage was just a few feet away.
I decided not to think of all the things we cannot have and concentrated on 2 things: Relish seeing him that close and serve as spotter for NAREE when she get pictures of him!
OhMyGAH!!!!! The 3 guys of Magic 89.9 -- the official radio station of AI started emceeing. They started to get the audience pumped up. They asked us for questions they could ask David.
My heart was hammering so loudly, I swear MACY & NAREE could hear it! I looked around and the atrium was SO full, there was hardly any space move about. The upper level floor served as the bleacher section of the Atrium and that was also full — all around. I got a panoramic shot of the audience and I used XENO’s cam for that, I still have to locate it among the files I have.
I was tearing up at this point cos of the adoration being shown David. Am so happy for him. Am ecstatic that he will know for himself how much love my country holds for him!
5:20PM PANDEMONIUM. Screaming everywhere.
The 3 emcees were calming the crowd, reminding them not to push, to be careful so no one will get hurt. Take note, David is still no-where in sight.
Then, I see this burly guy in black tshirt… then 2 more guys in black shirts…
Then DAVID!
Then 15-20 security guards swooped down the front row effectively blocking us from the stage! SERIOUSLY! They were joined by cameramen from GMA7 and MOA.
Then DAVID…
I swear the room suddenly dimmed and he was the only one beaming. Is he radio active or what? But my goodness: That smile! The hair! The uber flawless skin — what is that alabaster? And, THE EYES!!!!!
w.h.i.m.p.e.r. (imagine this in size 8 fonts)
He was wearing a simple purple/lavander shirt, jeans and he was the most gorgeous guy on earth!
OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
Interview, blah-blah-blah… He started to speak and I felt me sitting down and just looking at him. Peacefully taking in his image, drinking-in his presence… SIGH
Then I suddenly realized nobody was occupying the front row so I relocated and motioned NAREE to follow me, planted her cam on my shoulder. Did I mention I was the spotter?
Then this guy with this HUGE tripod blocked our view. HAH!
I went to him and saw he didn’t have any press badge. Probably studio? I shrugged my shoulder and gently whispered to him as gently as I could:
“Sir, if you don’t want to experience something you’d rather not feel for a long time, you will get out of our way. Pleeeeeease?”
Smiling sweetly but am sure he saw my eyes, he said: “OK mam” and he sped off. Did I mention I am just 5 feet & look completely harmless?
By this time, NAREE stopped taking pictures and was just sitting down with her hand on her face, in a trance… LOL
Am sure you know how that looks!
So I snapped her out of it and moved her, actually pushed her to the edge of the stage, passing by the security guards.
Told her: Just take pix, I’ll handle the guards and don’t space out on me!
I was just waiting for a guard to pick me up on the collar… but thankfully nothing.
Highlights:
1. The way he said “BARKADA” meaning group of friends
2. His “SALAMAT” (thank you) was to die for
3. My favorite part of all: MAHAL KITA (I love you) & that shimmy shoulder thingy he does but this time with a whole lot of cuteness
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH.
This is not right. Nobody should be with all that gorgeousness. It is simply criminal!
Then it was all over…
He was gone…
NAREE & I looked at each other, speechless…
Archies gathered around, some screaming, some looking stoned, others started getting the banners, lest we lose them to fans already eyeing them.
TIME: 5:30PM end of the pseudoM&G. The ads should say: See&Bye!
Breathing in… breathing out slowly… arranging our stuff… gathering my bags, gifts, etc…
I thanked the mall officer and the security guards. Waved at the emcees and waited the other Archies finishing up with their picture-taking on the now vacant and mute stage..
TIME: 5:45PM

Once inside the car: XENO, KIA & I started screaming!!!!!!!! LOL
NAREE had to go back to her clinic while LOUISE, JOYCE and the other Archies went off to have dinner 1st before going back to the hotel.
I dropped KIA -- along the hi-way for another engagement but would follow us to Shang later. XENO & I proceeded to Shang after a brief stop at her dorm and dinner. I took her to Little Asia. We had pad thai & carrot/pumpkin soup. David love it here.

I’ve been rewatching that video at FOD (see tawna21 #113) all evening. I can’t explain it. For me, DC will always be DA’s big brother. I think it’s the fact that DC could have walked off but he turned around to look and wait for DA.
