I just love how David keeps it real even with his co-stars. He compliments Jordan Pruitt -- even to the extent of saying he loves her voice! And then thanks Demi for having him on this tour, after getting the audience excited for her.

jello#438. That is interesting info. Wonder what Mr. Groban, one of the biggest selling artists of the last 10 years knows that some of us don't.

Can we please let management and those others paid to look after David and his interests do just that.

I love what David stands for in my mind. I do not know him personally and do not expect to.

I agree with some posts and disagree with others. The sometimes heated conversation has become most tiresome.

Let us celebrate David, and leave the business part of his life to those paid to move it forward as they see best serves David.

Please don't respond with.."They don't do David this" and "They don't do David that". Been there, done that and do not want to go back. It is what it is so let us move on.

On another note, anyone going to Louisville!! Would love to meet up with you if you are!!

Hmm, I'd better get my tomato barriers in place before I submit this one. I would love to see Jive doing more, but I don't think they have the right material to work with right now. I think the fact that they *aren't* doing more is an admission, on their part, of having not quite gotten the production right on the CD.

I haven't listened to the CD since it came out. My most-played-David songs are the fan vids from concerts. And the occasional nostalgic AI7 evenings. At first I thought the CD songs weren't that great--then I heard David **perform** them and Oh Holy Crap, was I wrong!!! They are total ear candy now. The production on the CD is homogeneous and ersatz. So I'm not surprised there's been no consensus on another single to promote.

As for their not promoting David on the current tour, I'm not surprised about that either, I don't think "warm up" bands are promoted, usually--I don't recall ever knowing who the opener will be for a headliner. And most of the time I don't much care *after* I hear them, either! So for David to be getting the raves and converts he's getting... wow! Major props. The only surprise was the D/D pairing, as has been repeated ad nauseam, but on that point, David has made it work for him... in spades.

For a long time I was reeeeeeeeally annoyed with a certain Portland station for not playing David. If I'm honest with myself, and put my fangirly head in the fridge for a bit, I realize there's a reason they don't. It's that pesky issue of formulaic CD production.

So, belatedly, I'll respond to a previous article--my wish for David is that he be afforded the respect of some truly thoughtful production on his next pop CD. Production that does not swallow him up in cacophony. Production that an artist of his caliber merits. (And of course, the Christmas one as well--but I'm less concerned about that one.)

As for the lively discussion that prompted some new folks to show up, oh my! I'm trying to read all of the recent threads (still not quite caught up), but I'm a bit baffled by what prompted the *tone* of some of the posts. Guess I'll figure it out if I keep reading backwards. Well--hello, and welcome to you, Richard. Your arrangement of "Think of Me" was stunning, I love to revisit that performance. Have you done other arrangements for David that we've heard? And, if you return and actually read this!--do you have any thoughts about how to get the essence of live David into the studio?

Hi praepos,

My assessment of your particular comment to Richard about Richard as being blunt has zero to do with Richard who may or may not have taken offense.

I have no idea how or if what you say "bluntly and frankly" affects him. Since I have no idea how he took your words, I can't possibly "seem sure" of anything where Richard is concerned.

I was speaking for myself. I was saying it sounded rude to ME.

I'll add though that Richard seemed quite consistently courteous while making his points frankly. I couldn't help but notice the contrast. Just sayin'.

So no irony of any kind here.

As I said earlier, it was just a side note to my main comment. I chose to be frank on that!

In the end, I realize it's all quite subjective as far as what sounds blunt and frank and when something does cross over to rudeness, especially when speaking to a person in cyberspace without the face to face part that you can have in a real world conversation. It's a tricky business.

And....it's really quite ironic that the newest Billboard mag is dedicated to how the Disney machine makes all those millions off of their tween and teen stars and it goes into all the merchandise they sell...etc...etc....

Demi was not the main topic but apparently Disney machine will be promoting her and that Gomez chick like crazy very soon...and clothing lines will follow.....woohoo!!

Oh well, enough of management discussions.

My brain hurts.

It's quiet around me again so I can surf the internet. I was going to finally treat myself to some C city videos, but came across this "Your Eyes Don't Lie (Pittsburgh)":

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ4Ij6mduKE&feature=related

Watch HIS eyes at 1:44 to 1:50 ... slaying us all!

David's ability to connect emotionally is well recognized. Now, his being so comfortable and in control of these playful mood, is assuring to me. It tells me that David is determined to realize his full potential and he would keep pushing the boundaries to become a well rounded captivating performer. Yes, I do wonder if he is working with the right people. Sorry, I am vain. I keep hoping that at this stage of his career, David gets to work with names bigger than his own. I have to remind myself of his "if it works for me, then it works for me." It's just hard for me.

I love his singing the Bubbly. It sounded youthful and cheerful. And it is different from other songs he's sung. I have no doubt that he's experimenting something again, and I just want to ask, David, what do you really have in mind?

To me, TDC is a marvelous site. We laugh here, we argue here, we cry here, we plead here, but we know the definition of we. Divide and Conquer would not work here. Hence my salute to #s: 321, 380, 405 and many more!

And I think I finally get paepos. :)

The world hasn't come across an artist of David's magnitude in a long time. We, as fans, want to continue to enjoy his magnificence because he makes us 'feeeeel so good'.

This place has become a ping pong game. Stating one's opinion is fine but what happened to respect and acceptance of someone else's opinion? I'm so tired of this back and forth stuff. That's why was in lurker mode today. Seems to me that being right is not as important as doing what's right. But okay, that's just me.

I'm a patient fan and on this journey for the long haul. I'll wait while David gets his feet wet in the music industry, whatever it takes. And while he's grows, I'll have a blast connecting and meeting his fans. We are good people.

Oh and since we're talking bluesy covers for David, let's not forget "One"!

Which reminds me, this Friday. July 31 is the last day to submit a letter to David, expressing your desire for him to sing the full cover of U2's "One", either on tour or CD or whichever way we can have it. Link below:

Vermeer, it's ironic that you should think I addressed Richard "ever so bluntly". You seem sure he took offense by my comments. But these were his own words to me during our exchange:

"I, for one, have had many blunt and frank conversations when I don’t agree with something. I am nobodies [sic] yes man."

Since that was his position regarding his own disagreements with others, it would be inconsistent for him to object to a fan having the same kind of "blunt and frank" disagreement with him.

I said what I thought--bluntly and frankly.
