JR -- YAH! Been on such a high or sumptin. Met Naree (even took a pic with her and a couple of ladies from BC)- actually, I went up to her & introduced myself. She seems like she has alot of spunk -- you know, knows how to have a good time! Anyway, met several ladies from up north (Vancouver BC) & exchanged emails with a couple. There were probably about 80-100 at VIP. Nice group of mostly out of towners -- eastern Washington, Vancouver BC, Calgary (gengen), Portland, California, etc. Would be surprised if there were more than 1/3 from Seattle area (myself included). Met some moms of daughters (15 yo David fans). Moms sounded like they were incognito or converted fans. It was a real trip to talk to someone who is a David fan (some even ODD). The whole experience felt quite surreal, actually.
Only one anxious moment -- picture with David. I had this speech (big, big mistake) planned about thanking him for sharing his love of music & his gift -- his wonderful voice and his presentation of it. Well, I got to “thank you for sharing” and glanced (could feel his stare so I glanced) at him & caught his eyes….. don’t remember what happened after that. Felt like a complete idiot. Next time, I’m a mute because god only knows what I said. Oh well……
The concert was wonderful, just way too short. Felt like I wanted to hit the repeat button to replay it again and again -- just kept reaching for it but couldn’t find it. His rendition of Apologize was sublime -- so filled with emotion. Really love My Hands, Waiting for Yesterday & Zero Gravity (in addition to my favs Barriers & Dont Let Go) performed live. Has everyone seen the change he made in TMH -- crowd loved it!
Was surrounded by Demi fans (mostly young Demi-dressed girls with their moms). One teen next to me who I thought was strictly a Demi fan (”I love you, Demi) turned out she just loved them all (”I love the Jonas Bros” and some other dude). After You Can, she yelled “I love you, David” (???). Just one big love fest for her.
I tried to record some vids but the security people were everywhere -- kept yelling to stop recording. Also a little too far back as TMH was nothing but arms & hands waving back & forth with David peeking through or running off to the sides where I had no view, whatsoever. Someone stood up on their seat & blocked Dont Let Go after about a minute in. So I bagged it and just watched the rest of the show.
