I know you are an 18 year old young man. I know you are a serious artist. I know you want us all to respect you for your music and for your deeply amazing person-hood. But honestly, the charming/adorable/cuteness quotient in this video is enough to save all the Invisible Children in Africa, improve the quality of life for the underprivileged in India and cure MS all at the same time. Not to mention ushering in world peace and putting an end to global warming. Plus, children with serious illnesses in future may ask to simply watch your vlog on replay when they want a special wish to be granted. Watching you releases endorphins and increases serotonin levels. You can do that. You should own it.
This is what I learned from your vlog after my cheeks stopped hurting from smiling.
Amphitheaters. You love them. They are nice. You love the sun. It is nice. You love being outside. Also nice. You love Jordan and Demi and KSM. And sheltering people from the rain. You love having your full . . . motion. . . back and days off. You love your friends. You love just about anything and everything. In fact, besides fish soup, I’m not sure we’ve discovered anything that doesn’t make you happy. Logically, I have to believe you are real most of the time, but until we find out more of your dislikes and things that make you upset, I’m gonna’ have to leave the ‘he might be from another planet’ option open.
Your voice is back! This. Very important. Your Voice is a National Treasure – make that an International Treasure – and needs to be protected at all costs. I would hate to have you lose it and not be able to find it, like how you lost Ashlee in the vlog. I hope you have contacted Lloyd’s of London to insure it. And I am serious about that. All allergies should flee in shame at attempting to derail your Voice. In fact, fans are in the process of petitioning Obama to replace all WMD’s with Neti Pots, Throat Coat and organic honey and to have Dean Kaelin at the ready on the other end of the crisis phone in the Oval Office. Allergy meds to the rescue!
Ashlee. She is a massage person. A singing massage person. A very brave singing massage person. Brave to sing on stage with The Voice and brave to endure all of your fans ladle-ing her with love. And apparently you are not too happy when you can’t find her. Aha! Something else you don’t like!.. List of Things David Doesn’t Like: Fish Soup. Ashlee not being available when you want her. Allergies. KSM being gone. Not being able to sing.
Your voice is back Part 2!! You can make a vlog because you can talk. And it makes you as happy as being in an amphitheater. Or hearing a Foo Fighters song backstage and being reminded of Cook and the Idol tour. And singing in that random utterly-amazing-most-singers-would-kill-to-be-able-to-sing-like-that high voice which you seem to do with no effort at all. While you are flailing and spazzing over the song, we are flailing and spazzing over 2 seconds of you singing it. So, would you two stop being coy and just call each other already? By the way, I heard Cook was tipsy recently and was really missing you. We know you won’t ever be tipsy, but apparently when you are on hard-core-street allergy meds you start petting Mike’s guitar on stage. Just sayin’
Speaking of allergy meds – again – my children used to get a little loopy and a little hyper when they’d been on decongestants for too many days. Not meaning to imply that you were loopy or hyper or distracted or anything. Not at all. It’s just that I’d like to see you when you are on an infamous ‘sugar high’ just to compare behaviors. I would imagine it could be somewhat entertaining. Normal David. Allergy-med David. Sugar-high David. IS there a difference? Congress should begin debates on this issue immediately.
So, Boom-Boom, ‘there goes my hero’, full-motion arm rolls, missing KSM, protracted good-byes that end abruptly. What else did I learn? Oh yeah. The tour is going by so fast and will soon be over. Technically speaking, your last show at the Alaskan State Fair is on my birthday. I did not want to celebrate this occasion without my family but have you seen the price of 6 round trip tickets to Alaska lately?? Pshhhhh. Not doable. I have tuitions to pay and shelter from the rain to maintain. I looked into dogsled rentals but in fact I would have had to have started the journey in 2008 to get there in time. So even though we won’t be celebrating together, have a wonderful time in Alaska and don’t be too sad when it’s over. List of Things Mom Doesn’t Like: Sad David. There will be more tours in the future, you will be recording and writing, and you have many wonderful things to look forward to in your life in the next little while.
We will always be here.
So thank you for the amazing music, the opportunity to connect and re-connect with our Davidfan friends, the epic VIP’s and your shining example. You have made a lot of people happy this summer. Job well done, David, job well done. Buh-Bye!

On another note, I’m so disappointed about the concerts. I had my first VIP planned for AC. Liz and many others here were doing a 4-venue trip -- Hershey, AC, Providence and Manchester. The money wasted is devastating. Demi is a prima donna. I’m sorry, I know it’s not good form to dis her, but I can’t help it.
Just saw the news about the cancellations; rumor is that it’s because of Demi is going to be filming a movie. I am sorry for everyone who put down money for this. Hopefully David will have solo concerts instead.
David, sweetie, we need a miracle here. How about solo venues on those same dates?

The idea of re-scheduling the shows for Oct-Nov is just a joke. The only way to make this right is to schedule solo shows on the same dates so that those of us flying 1000s of miles will be able to see him. The thought of my lost VIPS just makes me cry.

Hopefully if they can find venues on those dates I bet they will try to do the same date. I think Grand Rapids was the same date or very close to it.
Ugh…my heart just aches for all of you affected by the cancelled shows! I agree that this has to be corrected somehow, but I know that the one and only thing that will make up for the huge, devastating disappointment is to have David solo shows on those same dates. Maybe, maybe something good will come out of all of this. IDK…everyone seems to be already cancelling flights and hotels…gosh, what a huge mess!
I don’t think this is Demi’s fault, but maybe if she were older and actually in charge, she could have stood up to her management and Disney and insisted that the shows go on.

I feel so bad for those of you planning to attend any or all of these concerts. However, if David can arrange solo concerts it will be so much nicer than the original. I will say a prayer because I know how much it meant to me to go see him.

time may not be on his side in trying to re-schedule shows on the same dates that were cancelled… that may be the reason why oct-nov were put forth as options…. it stinks, but i wouldn’t hold out hope there will be replacement shows on the exact dates that were cancelled…. someone suggested lodging complaints, or voicing our extreme displeasure about this development to disney… any thoughts?
I feel very sad for everyone affected by these cancellations. Nothing should’ve stopped these shows from going forward. David just mentioned how sad he was that the tour was winding down. He must be devastated as well. Hopefully his management is in negotiations this very minute to turn these into solo shows. It’s time for them to prove their worth.

momjulee — this has to be the most adorable article that has even appeared on TDC. And totally in a good way. I was thoroughly, utterly, completely charmed — a perfect companion piece to the charm of David’s vlog!
My own first reaction to the vlog was that although all the randomness and spaciness is still very much in evidence, the goofiness is definitely waning… He is clearly not as embarrassed about how he is anymore — not nearly as self-conscious.

Question..HOW can Demi dare show her face in Fairfax & Hershey after the slap in the face to her fans that they mean so little to her. I just do not BUY the cancellations were due to her filming a MOVIE..what? I just cannot believe filming of a movie was scheduled at the same time as these concerts. A little too convenient it seems. Demi may just not be the kind of “artist” who wants to have a connection with her fans by singing live and interacting with them. She must prefer the more impersonal relationship that movies give.
Getting sick is the only reason IMO to cancel a concert at the last minute. However, David WAS SICK, lost his voice, and STILL managed to go on with the show. It’s called integrity and love for his fans.
The more I think about it…There HAS to be a VERY GOOD REASON for the cancellations..one that has not been made public yet.
I know if it were possible, David would schedule reschedule the concerts on the same day as the cancellations..but we are talking days..it is possible, but highly improbable.
Is it coincidence that FOD posted this earlier today..could they have heard some rumblings in the air? I said to myself as I read this early today at FOD..nah, the tour is almost over, just a few more days..no way we would have to worry about THAT!…

Contingency Plans: Do You Have A Plan B If Your Concert Gets Canceled?
Two of the two concerts I chose to attend this summer were canceled: Indiana State Fair and Louisville. In both cases, I was able to sell my tickets (for a loss) and I finally was able to attend an alternate concert (Louisville unplugged).
The perils of touring with another act: the other act can choose to cancel a show at any time, espeically if she has new appearances that suddenly interfere with her ability to honor concert dates. And that is totally out of David’s hands.
So…do you have a contingency plan if this happens? It could still happen. What is your Plan B?
Choose another concert just in case? If flying, pay a little extra for cancellation insurance? Reserve a hotel room rather than paying for it up front, so you can cancel if need be?

gosh! are the cancellations confirmed? i know a lady from the philippines flying to AC just to watch the concert. she already booked her ticket and hotel. i have not heard from her yet, but she must be MIGHTY disappointed. this is the first time she got VIP..

If I were going to the last 3 shows, as I know many were, I would be devastated. Heck, I am devastated for everyone who was going. I believe the only hope will be solo Christmas shows in those very venues, but that doesn’t help the $$ spent on travel plans that have to be cancelled right now.

rascal, I have been trying very hard lately to not appear to be making fun of David when I deconstruct. Not that I ever was, but it has worried me a bit. I think you are right on when you say that he is much more comfortable with his particular personality quirks than before. That’s what made this so much fun to do and it’s why we love him.
Rascal, #21..glad to catch you here…hopefully you’re still in the neighborhood! I totally agree that there is slight but perceptible change in David in his latest vlog and it’s truly lovely to see him coming into his own.
I’m not sure if you’ve seen any of the videos from Grand Rapids. David was in such a zone that night, completely at ease and in control at the same time, particularly during his performance of Your Eyes Don’t Lie. What a joy to watch!
Momjulee -- I have read your post three times now. It is perfect. David is so comfortable now just being himself.
Before he sang at the VIP yesterday, he grabbed a slice of watermelon and sat there eating it, very at ease with us, chewing and saying “mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm -- I love watermelon”.
It was so endearing. The random thoughts were spilling out of him.

Second: My only observation is that David was nominated and WON, three teen choice awards, and apparantly there was not a thought of cancelling to serve self interest. I hope and pray the reason for the cancellation was something even remotely legitmate and the rumor of working on a movie is just that, and not true.
And people wonder why we are over the moon about our first class guy.

To all who were going to the concerts that were cancelled…I am so sorry. I would be heart broken. He will take it all on his little shoulders, which makes the pain even more acute for his fans.
I feel badly for all who were attending any of the cancelled concerts; a tough pill to swallow. With all the expense, planning, organizing, getting time off, (not to mention the anticipation and then the actual concert) I can only imagine that it would be extremely disappointing and upsetting.
I am too, however, disappointed in some of the fans that feel compelled to vent on Demi’s twitter. It is an immature, knee-jerk reaction. Worse yet, there are adults participating, not just those too young to know better.
Hoping David’s fans aren’t too quick to put this burden on him and expect him to fix it for everyone. It is an unfortunate situation and seems it would be very difficult to rearrange at this late date. And as we all know, no one is more upset than David.

David just seems to have too much integrity for this business. Singing through allergies, sickness, and vocal fatigue at the risk of losing his voice so as not to disappoint fans. If he has to have a doctor come on stage to wait in the wings, it seems as though not even that scenario will detract David from fulfilling a performance event.
What a sad day for fans everywhere. We really do have a treasure in David. I can only hope that disappointed fans will have another opportunity in the near future.

I am genuinely sad for those who had plans for the last 3 venues. My Las Vegas VIP session involved serious monetary and emotional investment; the anticipation alone was euphoric. I would have been devastated with a cancellation. I hope there is a happy resolution for David fans.

Still can’t bring myself to cancel my flight to Manchester. There’s still too many questions regarding Providence & Manchester. AC has been confirmed cancelled by the venue, however there has been no confirmation on the other two. In fact, the VIP people have not received notice, neither has Ticketmaster, or the Venues themselves. Nothing is posted on David’s or Demi’s official websites either. And to top it off, David was tweeting as if nothing was amiss. So until we get confirmation of cancellation of the last two venues by Azoff, Jive or David himself, I will keep my fingers crossed.
It’s been a very long time since I have felt this disappointed.
I’m trying to BLD and think of the positive side of this, but for the life of me, I can’t find the positive side yet.

I know this is a very sad and frustrating time for everyone. I’ve shed my tears. Today has been an extremely difficult day on so many levels.
David must be terribly upset ~ he knows first hand that fans were coming from all over for those last shows. He’ll reschedule ~ and we’ll get solo shows later in the year. I just know it. David won’t let us down.
Today at work ~ a coworker of mine suffered a heart attack at his desk and died. At his desk. He wasn’t even 50, and his wife used to be my boss.
Something is not lined up correctly in the universe.
Disney ~ you really suck ~ seriously ~ you control when and where everything happens ~ Demi couldn’t hold off 3 days?

DEMI LOVATO AND DAVID ARCHULETA RESCHEDULE THREE EAST COAST SHOWS
Citing scheduling conflicts, Demi Lovato and David Archuleta announced three rescheduled shows today. The original and rescheduled dates are below. Tickets for the original show will be honored at the rescheduled shows. Refunds will be available at point of purchase until September 30. Performance times will remain the same for the Manchester and Providence shows at 7pm. The Atlantic City show will now start at 4pm.
Demi Lovato’s tour is produced by AEG Live, and sponsored by AT&T and Comfort Inn.

August 23 Providence, RI D unkin’ Donuts Center
August 24 Manchester, NH Verizon Wireless
Rescheduled Dates:

The rescheduled dates are completely useless for those of us who are coming from out of town.
I just have a thought: how are these cancellations gonna affect David financial-wise?
I hope his contract with this concert has a clause that would cover related expenses and potential income loss for cancellations made by or caused by the principal party/headliner
On the other hand… this unfortunate development gives David more time for his Christmas album, some time to rest. Those are the silver lining I could think of now that in no way of course assuage the hurt you guys must be feeling.
In a magical world, wouldn’t it be super if all Archies holding canceled tix can be transported to Alaska in a whisk of a wand, for his solo show? Some dream eh?

That announcement is so stupid in so many levels. Isn’t David officially billed as a special guest or opener only? (Of course TCA looked at it differently).
If the special guest can’t make it there is still the other opener. Like, there was no problem changing KSM with Pruitt in the middle of the tour.
They did not give him the proper acknowledgment in the promo, much less the basic courtesy from the headliner to give him kudos during her set, now they drag David’s in this mess?
Atlantic City on November 1st at 4 PM -- that is a Sunday afternoon -- must be there weren’t any evenings available or Trump said, take it or leave it.

Ok this is absurd. David never got even close to equal billing for the concert. In many places he was in the fine print with no publicity. Demi was not heard to thank or acknowledge David ( that I have heard) during the show but now all of a sudden it is thae Dam and David concert that is cancelled? It may be her manager, or PR people or whomever but it is wrong.
Davids fans come from all over the world to see him. Sorry, but I just don’t think people coming from the far reaches of the planet to see Demi.
My hear is breaking for all the dissappointed peeps.

I have my ticket in front of me right now -- it says only “AT&T presents Demi Lovato”
Now they throw Davids name in the mix. As part of the blame.
Don’t worry David. We all know how it really is. Everyone should.
I feel terrible about this. It isn’t fair to all my friends. The only silver lining I can think of is he’ll probably be singing some Christmas songs. The album will be out by then.
So, I’ve been through all the stages of grief (lol) and am now in the stage of acceptance. I will get to see sweet marlie tomorrow, we will see one show, Hershey, and there will be a bunch of TDCers
there too. Not the trip I had this morning, but it will have to do.

Also, bought my daughter a concert program.. not a peep, line, picture or tiny note about David. Nada.

I have spent the greater part of yesterday thinking of titles for songs,etc. I suppose it was therapeutic to get my mind off of the fact that I now have an empty nest (as of last Friday!).
Kinda lonely and quiet in the house. Anyway, I am not musical AT ALL, but was imagining what it would be like to write songs and I could not even think of titles that have not been used already. Writing must be hard…esp for non-creative individuals like myself!!

About the reschedules..I have to think about this. I’m not liking the way this whole thing came around to add David to the mix like he had a part in the cancellations. Why would David’s mgmt allow his name to be used NOW as a co-headliner when he wasn’t previously?
I want something from David’s mgmt. Something. Anything.
I just woke up and came on here, so I don’t really know if there has been word from David’s camp or not though. I am still very sad and now more disappointed than ever as I was hoping for solos. That would have made up for this whole fiasco. Another three Demi concerts is NOT what I had been hoping for.

I am not feeling good about this.
I know David would never say or allow anyone in his camp to say anything negative about Demi or her mgmt..but I personally NEED to know he is not happy with their decisions. This is one time when I would LOVE to see David angry & upset. To heck with “all things happen for a reason”. This should not have happened the way it did. This last minute cancellation put many fans scrambling to cancel reservations so as not to lose too much money, NOT to mention having to reschedule vacation time where it’s permitted at their jobs. I hope it’s understood by David’s mgmt, that unlike Demi’s fans, David has many fans who FLY from every part of the USA & the world JUST to see him in concert. These last three concert VIPs for David were s/o weeks ago because of that very reason. Do they think rescheduling two months from now will make it easier to rebook flights etc. Yes it would for some..but why would we want to go through it again for another Demi/David concert.
AC is rescheduled on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON? At a casino no less? How does David really feel about that?
Dang..I have so many issues right now. I realize David may have no choice in the rescheduling. It may all be contractual. I think if Demi had not rescheduled (as she did not for Portland & Louisville) David could & would have scheduled solo shows. So it’s all about the “contract” he has with Demi..That is the only explanation I can come up with for David agreeing to another three concerts with Demi. Or he is helping her to “save face”. When I say “her”, I don’t mean Demi literally. I mean her mgmt…who sucks!

I have just cancelled my flights to AC & Manchester as well as hotel & car reservations. Why do I feel so bad & sad? It was just a few concerts. I can see David again as many times as time & funds allow…but that’s not the point. This weekend was going to stellar..one for my treasure trove of memories, where I store my most fun and precious memories of when I meet other fans of David & making forever friends. That’s what this weekend was all about..not JUST David..
I could have gone to Hershey I guess, as I’m sure the TDC’ers there will have a blast…and maybe tomorrow night I will regret not going. But my plans now are to wait for David to announce the dates for his Winter Christmas SOLO tour. Hopefully these three rescheduled Demi concerts won’t cause David’s mgmt to rethink some Christmas solos for the east coast. Has anyone thought of that possibility??
After his Winter/Christmas tour dates/places are announced, I will rethink AC, Manchester & Providence. But the choice between David solo & David & Demi is a no brainer.

I’m sorry for all the people affected by the cancellations. And the change was so last-minute, too! You would think that “professionals” would at least know far enough ahead of time. Not even a note of apology in the official announcement, either.
Even if this hadn’t greatly affected a number of people financially, this is just plain rude, callous, and inconsiderate!
And Dawn, I am sorry for your loss, and please feel free to share things like with us at TDC. Four years ago, a good friend of mine was letting me stay at his place in Detroit when he was stabbed at a church festival of all places. The knife nicked his aorta and he died that night. He was 21. It is just so tragic, shocking, and terrifying when something like that happens.

Marlie, I believe the VIP’s will be automatically refunded. I know my Louisville VIP was refunded when it was cancelled. Unless they will give the VIP holders the option to hold the VIP for the rescheduled concerts. Which makes more sense to me as it would make the loss of revenue to David look not as bad.
To all who will be in Fairfax tonight (Kizzi & Deb) and in Hershey tomorrow (too many to name)..have a great time & tell David we love him now & forever. Nothing will ever change that!

Here is what I gathered: Last week she had been twitting that she barely do not have any rest period between the end of tour and the start of shooting of Camp Rock 2. Interesting that after a week they announce that there is a conflict in the tour sked and Camp Rock. More interesting, it has been observed that her previous twits re the no rest issue are no longer posted.

Good question SF, regarding the band. I am hoping that if there
is a fall/winter mini tour that these guys have already signed on for it and would be available for these rescheduled shows.
Does anyone know the boundaries in refunds etc for these rescheduled concerts? If there is another option, i.e. solo concert somewhere, I’d want out of the Demi shows. I’m with SF on this one. I have no experience in a cancelled concert so anyone who does please enlighten me.

Demi tweets repeatedly about not getting enough rest between the tour and the making of the jobros movie. Then the last 3 shows are cancelled, along with her tweets about wanting more time off. Yesterday, was I dreaming that I saw a tweet from her on another site that said she was excited about gettting to learn new dance steps for the movie? Today a jobros tweets that she has a torn ligament.
In the meantime, they are spinning it like it is a scheduling problem that both Demi and David have.
There is a movement underway, it would seem, for damage control to Demi’s image. I think they are telling David not to tweet or speak about it. Anything he says may inadvertently lead to blame on Demi, which they can not afford to have. JMHO

This tour (and his position/obligations in it via contractual agreements) are the beat up orange car. (I really love that, actually.) He’s doing his level best, personally and professionally, to drive the dang thing (his “vehicle” for the time being) but those breakdowns are stinkin’ irritating. (A dang Disney Rent-a-Wreck Special … hey, whadya expect?? lol)

I have only had the chance to skim the comments but I’m sure either David was asked not to tweet or talk about it, OR that he’s doing it out of kindness to Demi because he knows that people are peeved at her enough already. Or maybe both.
As for the rescheduled shows, I know it’s a great inconvenience to David, but I *don’t* think he should back out of them! For a lot of us, we planned our only VIP and it was taken away. I’m glad to hopefully be given the chance to have my VIP experience, and my 9 year old daughter who has been upset since yesterday is too (still waiting to hear from ILAA if they will still honor the VIP’s, I’m assuming they will). If David did not want to do it, then he would not do it. And with that said, I am going to enjoy my show, more than 2 months later, but I will still get to go and I am grateful for that.
I also don’t think that 3 days is going to put off his promo plans too much. If anything it might give him extra promo opportunities.
And about it affecting the east coast winter tour dates, I don’t think it will. I’m under the impression that dates and venues were already being looked at last week. David is a huge draw in the Northeast -- RI, MA, CT, NY….he has to come here during winter tour! Also I read that winter tour does not start for at least 2 weeks or more after the rescheduled shows.

Ok, I just finished my rather large lemonade and just wanted to say as much as I am disappointed that the shows were cancelled, I am thankful that they were rescheduled and I am lucky enough with my work schedule to be able to attend. I plan on being there FOR DAVID. His tweets speak LOUDLY. He has never used “irritating” when tweeting about that dang red eye or his allergies,losing his voice or the food poisoning or even when he had to HUSH THOSE CATS that kept him up all night… Timing is everything and this WAS his statement.We hear ya loud and clear David. We all know it’s not his fault and he knows we love him.
So now I look forward to seeing him at the rescheduled shows and hope to see as many of you there as possible. It’s all I can do.

Before I start my recap—I have to apologize to KathyH . Waiting outside the venue, my asthma decided to kick in (humidity and wind) and it was tough to walk and talk. So I decided to save my breath for my David encounter and the concert, so I didn’t talk much.
I attended the VIP in Omaha with my son. Our “room” was a solid back wall, with the other three walls being black curtains. Inside there was a generous food table, a keyboard and chairs. We could hear David doing his sound check, which set my pulse racing. Kristen told us David would be in shortly after he was done. In the mean time, numbers were drawn for the questions. We didn’t win, but she asked for questions from the rest of us--in case those chosen didn’t have one.
Soon the curtains flew open, and in popped the neighborhood kid, who just fell out of bed and threw on some jeans and sneakers—grabbed a T-shirt (orange) out of the drawer and came waltzing in my back door. He had just awoken from a nap before sound check, and said he was phlegmy--he had sleepy eyes-- that were a bit puffy from his allergies, but absolutely drop dead adorable (nothing can properly prepare you) He plopped down at the keyboard and said , “What would you like to hear?”, like we had known each other forever.
He settled on and sang ATM, then the keyboard went goofy, he and Ray fiddled with it a while—no workie- so he asked Ashlee if she felt like singing. While they were getting their chairs situated, Ashlee said she thought she had something caught in her teeth, he looks almost directly into her mouth, which brought some giggles. They sang Lean on Me, a Capella.
Next questions, the first girl up asked my question, gulp, it was about his ear thingys. He didn’t answer everything I wanted to know, so I piped up and asked him to elaborate. What do you hear and why do you take one out sometimes? I was sitting right in front of him in the second row of chairs. Those beautiful eyes looked right at me!!! And he answered my questions. Next question was about his bunk, he said he had the shortest one in depth and kept bumping his heads on the bunk above, and the trouble with that was he was disturbing the person above him (only David would think of that) then he pointed to a guy in the room and said “and its you”. Third question I didn’t hear or can’t remember.
After the questions, he headed immediately to the food table, and in the words of my son, started pounding down chips and salsa.
We lined up outside the room, so we could go back in one by one for pictures. At one point, the corner curtain pops open and there is David, outstretched arm, with a chip with salsa on it in his hand. We didn’t know what he wanted—someone to take it?--was he sharing?—or just saying it was good—then he pops back inside.
OK, my turn to go in--yikes-- I think ( because this is where my mind turns to mush) I said Hi David—I’m so happy to meet you—then he greeted my son—he put his hand on my shoulder and I put mine around his waist—SNAP—then I asked for a hug and he said “Sure”. What I asked him about his allergies, I don’t remember, but he told me all about the phlegm,and how the medication made his mouth very dry. I kinda said “awww” and touched his arm –his skin felt very cool to my touch. I sat back and watched him with the rest of the people for about 15 minutes. He was so relaxed with everyone. Then all to soon, he was gone.
Our seats were great, row 8 in the middle. The “gigantic David curtain” at the opening is a sight to see, very impressive, grabs the audiences attention right away, and gets them screaming. His show was energetic and fantastic. His voice was flawless. How does he do that? I didn’t take my eyes off him once,I even stood the whole time, and at my old age, bopped with the best of them. We didn’t stay for Demi.
My son, who is over forty, said it is one of the best concerts he has ever been to, and he has seen many. He was very impressed. Needless to say, David has a new male fan. Which is a good thing, because in the way home (3 hours) I didn’t shut up about David.
Besides meeting David, the best thing that happened was my son telling me “Mom you were right all along, we should have listened to you.” YIPPEE
This was one of the of the best experiences I have ever treated myself to, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Well maybe I have a wild imagination but it was JMHO, and dream analysis does take a bit of imagination..I am not into deep dream analysis so much but I thought it was an interesting tweet..The use of the word “irritating” from David sent a message, to me anyways..I would not be surprised if he tweeted an expression of sympathy for the fans but I expect no negative tweet or negative statement from David addressing the cancellations of these shows. That’s what I was getting at.

Dakgal, please! I was glad to see you, period. I’m a tad on the shy side, but go into my ‘party mode’ at these shows. If I’d been more myself, I’d have tried to calm down, concentrate and get better acquainted with you.

So my plan of waiting closer to the Sept 30 deadline for refund is dashed because the VIP refunds close off tomorrow! I was hoping to get a better view of any possible solo concerts that would be more to my liking than the rescheduled Demi/David ones. Now I am twice as jealous of those who saw Louisville and other solo shows. I should stop complaining as after all I did see Del Mar. It’s just never enough, is it.?

It just occurred to me, how insensitive of me to post about my VIP now, when so many in this family had theirs taken away-- so rudely and abruptly. My heart aches for you, and I can only imagine your deep disappointment.
I have a feeling in my bones, David will make this up to you in some wonderful manner. He’s just that kinda guy.

first (off my chest)…Methinks David’s “beat up orange car that keeps breaking down” is subconscious for “Disney Machine!”
…at least to me it is!! His bad dream is our nightmare.

1) Are we even sure rescheduled shows will definitely included David?! Deciding now whether to take these last minute AC tix I was offered or not.

So we have two threads going on simultaneously..I will post at both cuz I can..
I give up..I will go to the rescheduled concerts. I love David & the person he is. I love David The Voice. So I can’t help myself. I am still hurt, yes that’s the word, hurt, that david has not acknowleged how the cancelled venues have affected his very loyal, forever, unconditional fans. But I am giving David the benefit of a doubt as it does appear there may be a gag order in place. If that is the case, we will find out one way or another. The VIP in Fairfax was over long ago..if he kept mum about it, especially if he was asked about it and didn’t answer, then he was told not to discuss it.

In Fairfax..there were very few VIP fans. Doesn’t look like anyone asked David about the cancellations and I’m thinking they may have been told not to ask him about it prior to David coming in to the VIP. Not saying this is what happened, but seems likely if there’s a gag order in place.

Hi all, I am here in Lancaster, PA with davidfanLiz! Picked her up at the Philly airport and now we are getting ready to go have dinner and a glass of wine. It is so nice to meet her in person -- she is every bit as nice as I expected.
We are swallowing our disappointment about AC VIP (and Liz’s Providence and Manchester events) and are going to have a good time at Hershey tomorrow night. See you all there (and you know who you are LOL).
Simple question: Why would Disney, or anyone else, put a gag order on David so that he could not openly recognize the fact that he has cancelled out on three shows?

I wrestled briefly with getting a refund for the VIP at Manchester. School will have started, the concert will be on a school night. Can I with a clear conscience drive 1 and 1/2 hours each way, on a school night, with my 16 year old for a concert? Absolutely worth it! But we won’t feel obligated to stay for Demi’s show because we don’t want to get home too late. Demi was almost the deal breaker for my daughter in the first place on this.

Hmmm, I wonder why he wouldn’t say anything on his own? I mean, I guess it’s different to respond to someone else if they bring it up.
SB: I don’t know about these things, but I suspect that there was some type of clause in the contract about cancellations, and what can be said about it. Since it was never David’s show and he was always the special guest or supporting act, I assume he has to defer to Demi’s people about what is said.
However, hard to imagine that a little line or note about Sorry for the inconvenence would be prohibited? Even if the party line for the “reason” must be followed.
All the more reason that David needs to head his own tours even if that means smaller, crappy venues

147/ If Disney has some type of restriction, or ”gag order” as it were, in place preventing David and/or his team from speaking out about this debacle, it’s a defensive measure -- most likely in place to control the collateral damage and the fallout they knew was going to occur vis a vis these postponement/cancellation announcements… they are the sponsors of this tour, and would want to control, or attempt to control, the flow of information being released to fans, and the media…
It’s not uncommon for large corporations to have such things in place… my company has a policy in our handbook that prohibits anyone from speaking, on camera or in print, to the media in case of an emergency, or a disaster type situation… they want the pr team from corporate to control that information stream… that’s why I’m not holding David accountable for having to be the point man for releasing any statement about this, at this time.. this mess has been an inconvenience and a pain point for many of the fans, but Disney bears the responsibility for needing to have taken ownership of communicating this decision out in a timely manner…
David need not tell me his feelings about this matter -- I don’t know him personally, but suffice to say I think he does feel pretty badly about the whole deal.. no one who has shown himself to be as kind, considerate and responsive in times past to us could be anything less.
GG -- all that you said -- thank you! I too believe that thete is a gag order. As I mentioned in the other thread, twitting “it isn’t up to me” was not exactly crossing the line cos he was simply stating an obvious truth. Thanks again for your post.
