I was about to post on the last thread but noticed this new one. No one’s here yet…
I’ve been on the floor DEAD since last night. Was just managing to get up off of the floor when SF brings up Ave Maria!!! Down I go again and we haven’t even heard the song yet!!
Mike, THANK YOU for the eye witness account of the event! It is so appreciated.
I’m going to listen again with the lyrics and translation this time. Thank you to all who provided, partial or all.
Can’t remember what else I wanted to say (fish brain yes!) so til later fellow TDCers.
Rascal, what are you trying to do by reposting this? Kill off the Archie fanbase? He needs us, remember?
Whew! It’s getting hot in here!
Angelica . September 19, 2009 .
Thanks for this beautifully sharp audio/visual gift Rascal.
Had to tear myself away long enough to at least get provisions from the store for the weekend. Then had to get out of the car and come back to burn a CD of Contigo en la Distancia for the drive. haha.
WTH was I thinking?

oops -- new post. Will repeat from end of last thread…
Angelica -- #205 -- “This is a man’s version of Contigo en la Distancia. Tender, sensual, romantic, but he is in complete control. No playing around. He refrains and holds back and within that control is a contained passion that is almost overpowering in it’s strength.”
Yes, there it is. You nailed it. The refrain in places where he could have run circles around certain notes… gives his performance that much more breathtaking power. Every choice, at every point in the song, reflects both born-in-the-blood *and* conscious awareness of just how to reach into our very marrow.
He is one heat-seeking missile. Guh. Still can’t get anything else done.
(Addendum: dang it rascal, guess I’ll have to watch it *again*!!!)

Just curious, was David’s name listed at the top *before* the show? http://www.almaawards.com/

Came up for air to thank Rascal for this crystal clear audio and visual gift.
Now, back to my acoustic prison. Have been, and will be, locked up for hours…more than likely until the October 13th.
Thinking about Ave Maria has got me drooling already.

This performance is like spellbinding I just can’t resist it. David so sounds good and looks so good. There is not even a hint of “awkward” David. The way he moved on the stage from the very first note to the very last is quite intoxicating to say the least.
Rascal thanks for contributing to the delinquency of an AARPer.

rascal -- I think Rita? says “fantastic” at the end of David’s performance
(((Vermeer))) the floor seems to be a popular place for many of us!
