Though not closer, the video quality of SnarkyMawg’s footage of the 2nd night in SLC is better. Will post as soon as other posters upload their vids.

Meanwhile, SF & SB on #172, yes long-shot vids do not give justice to the concert’s magical moments. But take note that we have a good number of UPCLOSE vids for the 1st night, namely those coming from YouMayCallMeTina or 15263457689 or southerngirl1982 or branndy50

YouMayCallMeTina in fact intends to upload the HD files of her videos so we will get to enjoy those magical moments properly, later

Exhibit A of why David says he takes after his mom. As a single parent myself, am not sure whether to be sad or to chuckle at Lupe’s reaction. It was definitely classic though!

Wow, last nights vids are unbelievable! I have never in my life seen anything as beautiful as the reverence on David’s face when he sang Silent Night, Ave Maria and Oh Holy Night. Many thanks to the people who shared their videos with us. It means such a lot to those of us who are unable to go to a Christmas show.

amb4dja #166 — re: the duet — I thought Lupe hit that note as well as she possibly could have, given that she’d gotten so emotional she started to cry right there, before the song was over. And who wouldn’t?! That duet packs such a wallop, I can’t watch it any more right now, I don’t want tears in my pumpkin pie!! IDK… my guests may have to have a slice of spazzing instead of pie. (With a side of blubbering foolishly.)

I had a long conversation with SB earlier and she told me the videos don’t fully capture the beauty & essence of David’s performances last night. To borrow the now famous phrase we first heard David use to describe how he felt when he first heard a performance that took his breath away and which we now use over & over, “What Just Happened?” is how the audience felt after each of his reverent & heartfelt CFTH songs as well as POTC & FOG. (boy, that was a long sentence, I’m out of breath!).

David was perfection Visually & Vocally as usual.

Dear lord,

Please take care of David.
Watch over him, protect him from all harm.
Cloak him with your love and give him the strength to endure all that is thrown in his path.
Give David the courage and guidance to say no to those who ask for more than he can reasonably give.

Separate David from those who have agendas other than for his well being.
