I love to see how much his band really likes him. It is amazing what he has accomplished and I am so grateful I have been able to enjoy being his fan. He is such a fine young man and I certainly intend to remain a fan for years and years. My kids finally have come around and love their Christmas albums.

David Surprises A Friend at a Farewell Celebration
So, this past weekend my family went up north to my cousins farewell [a celebration preceding a young man's mission] up in Murray, UT. My cousin is friends with David Archuleta, so they asked him to sing at my cousins farewell, but he couldn’t come sing because he was already singing at another farewell at the same time. So we went to the farewell and went to my cousins house to eat afterwards. My cousin kept saying that David might come over later when there weren’t very many people around. So right as we were leaving to come home there was a knock at the front door….it was David!!!! So my mom grabbed her camera quickly and took some pictures of him. I was introduced to him and got my picture taken with him. (he also put his arm around me and shook my hand! haha.) We also told him we went to his concert. Everyone was freaking out! It was a pretty exciting afternoon!!

It’s interesting to see what David would write when (presumably) he isn’t being pressured by Jive, or given a song by Jive. His own songs were the best, by far, on the last album and bonus tracks.

thought i’d share the sales numbers from soundscan for the christmas cd this reporting period… don’t know how many of you keep track of this kind of thing, or if they matter to anyone,but this is too special to go unnoticed…
david has done a remarkable [remarkable] job selling this cd, with minimal promo compared to other cd’s and artists in the genre, and he even outsold several big name artists/regular releases in just a 2 month window…
selling over 200k cd’s exceeded a lot of expectations, and it’s my desire that the suits and tptb and his mgmt team can formulate a plan to give his upcoming pop cd the attention and promotion it and he has proven he deserves.

Hi everybody. I’s like to wish everyone here a happy and healthy New Year. It’s been quite a year, especially on TDC. I’ve appreciated the opportunity to have this forum to talk about my love and respect for David as both a world class singer/performer and a person of incredible substance and humanity.
I was fortunate enough to attend a number of David’s concerts, and they were, of course, epic and memorable. It was also great to meet so many of David’s army of devoted fans, who are the absolute nicest, friendliest, most enoyable people one could hope to meet. Some of those people are frequent posters here, and what a classy and joyous group of folks you are. I hope you enjoyed meeting me, and, in doing so, realize that every word I write here (the good, the bad, and the annoying) is fueled by my devotion to our wonderful friend, David Archuleta.

What do you need for a three-day cross country road trip from California to Michigan?

That has been the story of my life for the past 5 days -- I embarked on the road on Christmas night and just now arrived. However, I did get to meet some of the locals (very nice people) and I picked up some of the local-speak. So yeah, not up to speed on the TDC’ing.
Just wanted to give y’all a holler:
I just saw djbell13′s video above of people singing Happy B-day to David. I love how big his Santa hat is lol! What a sweet birthday for a sweet person!
Vee #5, I watched the Jeopardy video and found it hilarious! I think the woman was thinking both David Archuleta and David Arquette in her mind at the same time. Perhaps her studying regime got her to think so quickly that she would be prone to make such makes. David would call this a “brain fart.”
JR, thank you thank you THANK YOU for your “blitzkrieg” of videos! Believe it or not, I have not seen David’s TV performances this month, save for a couple. This is exactly what I needed!
I’m happy that Seventeen magazine recognized our spicy nacho as particularly zesty. Think what you want about the teen market -- but it is an important sign that David has not been quickly discarded and joined the list of so many other teen idols before him. He is still poised to take off and meet major success in the future.
JR #12, those pics of David’s surprise visit made me smile (again), if only for the reason that his outfit matches exactly my own first “lawyer’s outfit” that I bought for myself. Do I have my own version of ODD affecting my fashion choices? LOL
GGdoorsfan #30, those sales figures for CFTH are amazing numbers, considering the relatively little promotion he has gotten. (I see an ad for Andrea Bocelli everywhere I go!) Not much TV, not much radio airplay. These 200,000 purchasers show that David has a sizable core following.

I have always enjoyed visiting the Snarky Archie’s site but these days anytime I go it tosses me out of Internet Explorer and the page freezes. Is there something going on that I missed while I was out of touch?
dma -- you are not the only one having problems with their site. I read that they are aware there is a problem. I have had the same trouble as you are having for at least a week so I stopped going there for now.

Seeing David 4 times ( I think the Swamp was this year) was a highlight, as well as watching his truly amazing growth as a performer. There were other good things that happened this year, but all in all, a very good friend died after a long illness, layoffs and alot of stress at work, and other issues make me happy to say C-ya to this year.
Abrra and Knotliser ( if I have the name right) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the lovely and special tour CD. You are right, there were a few little treats on there. And the pictures are so wonderful. Made my day when that little treat arrived in the mail.
Bliss, love your remarks. I was actually thinking about David’s fans today. Most seem to be a pretty bright group, used to being leaders in various capacities I have even been so impressed with his “younger” fans and their talents and skills. So it is all the more amazing that people so different come together in a group. I think many are not used to be part of a “fan group” -- you know one of many in the masses. Not sure where this is going, but just thinking about so many different people used to being unique, grouping together. I think the talant in David’s fan base is pretty amazing. I don’t have much to compare, but the poems, videos. funny stories, fan sites, the art, prose etc.. just seems to be pretty amazing. All stemmed from this person who came along into our lives? David sure has spawned alot of creativity. Not to mention the good acts and causes people are supporting? Wow

Janey: I suspect from what you say that it is Adobe Flash. I can’t even use IE at all anymore because Flash won’t install with IE and Vista. There is likely nothing you can do -- and I’ve had more postings on the Adobe flash site than ought to be allowed, complaining about it.

I’ve been having the same problems with Snarky Archies as you have ~ I thought it was just my computer ~ but it freezes every time I go there and I have to reboot. I finally gave up! I’m at least glad to know it’s not just me! I wonder if THEY know about this problem. I know, for awhile, the pictures of David on the front page were upside down, but I could still access the site. Now the pictures are right-side-up, and I CANNOT access the site! Strange! I miss being able to go there occasionally ~ they’re so quick with all the news!
