Those photos do nothing for me. Nothing at all, because the person in those photos is not David Archuleta. The David Archuleta I know wouldn’t want to hurt me like that. He wouldn’t make my life so damn difficult by looking like THAT. No t-shirts made from thinner-than-thin fabric, no belt buckles teasingly on display, no bad-ass facial expressions or knuckle cracking like he’s about to kick some butt and DEFINITELY no muscles of any kind showing through clothes.

Unless there is a cool reception to this song from the general public (not likely), this kind of star treatment in a top radio market only bodes VERY, VERY WELL for David! This is extremely good news.
RONALD -- As Fe said, IT IS ABOUT TIME!
There was major disappointment among the fan base when no apparent promo went with SBL when it was made digitally available on the 20th, except for the one launched on the OS.
Giving out SBL for “free” or as an immediate download when you pre-order from the OS is an insular approach cos the target market would be of course those already on board.
For non-fans, they would only realize its availability if they stumbled upon it or they made a conscious effort to visit iTunes. Hence it highest charting at #15 Pop Chart/ #31 Overall iTunes. That’s just pure arch angels backing — which is kinda of amazing given its limited exposure.
It is @ #95 overall as of date.
Perhaps David’s label will go full force with radio (& hopefully TV, pls!) promo when the MTV comes out, in time for the official add date.
Ooooorrrr, Jive could release it earlier. Why wouldn’t they, right? Or is this another case of squandering the early wins?

JR and Marlie, that mantra “he’s young enough to…”, give it up!! LOL. It’s futile, surrender haha! To show that bit of his belt, he has to wear low-rise jeans; in any case lower than previous jeans I think. Not only is he now willing to show a tad more of himself through tears in his jeans, he is daring to wear lower rise pants which is surprising to me considering he was such an obessive shirt tugger during concerts. In fact, he was still kind of doing that at some of his book tour performances. Maybe at the Pro-Am he thought he be safe as he wouldn’t be jumping around when singing the National Anthem lol!

Some are saying that the SBL from the OS is better than the iTunes version. Perhaps the quality is reduced when iTunes convert to AAC.

JR, I got SBL from OS, iTunes, and Amazon. File size wise, iTunes and Amazon downloads were exactly the same (Amazon used to be larger I think), but the OS one is larger. Don’t know off hand how much bigger of a file (it’s in my home laptop) but I remember noticing that.
I meant to say Amazon downloads were bigger files than iTunes ones, but perhaps iTunes is now matching up to Amazon’s. I’ve heard people say Amazon’s sounded better than iTunes’, but I couldn’t detect the difference. Maybe if I had Bose speakers LOL?

Vermeer -- If the OS file is larger, it MAY have better quality. A higher bitrate (128 or 256 or 320 kbps) results to better audio though, so you may want to check that.

Ellen DeGeneres Bows Out As Judge
Ellen DeGeneres has decided to bow out from her role as a judge on American Idol next season. Ellen served as a judge during the ninth season of Idol, the No. 1 hit series on television.
“A couple months ago, I let FOX and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” said Ellen. “I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”
“We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of Idol,” said Peter Rice, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Networks Group. “We were fortunate to receive the humor, energy and love for talent that she brought to the show.”
“It was a joy to work with Ellen,” added Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “She brought an incredible spirit to Idol and was a great new addition to the team. While we’re saddened by her decision, we are very appreciative that she gave us ample notice so that we could work through it together.”

I saw part of the vlog and just have to say that David of 2 years ago would most definitely not have been excited about us seeing his music video… he always talked about how weird he looked and couldn’t hear himself sing, I would imagine seeing his own video must have been a scary experience. While he probably still can’t bear to hear himself, this is a new thing. Very interesting, too, to see that he had input in the editing process and feels it conveys what he wants to convey

Fatimah…Embe lives in Finland. She sings with a band herself and has a little girl now. She posts rarely on SoulDavid now.
