Sorry I could not take photos, video, tweets…nothing! I simply couldn’t take my eyes or mind off the stage. It was truly an amazing acoustic show with David’s voice in fine form (what else is new!!) Brilliant. Just brilliant. All of the acts, Orianthi, Ryan Star (what a powerhouse) and Sara Bareilles…just beyond words. Probably one of the best shows all the way around that I have ever been too because everyone was a knockout…especially David, but I am prejudiced! Honestly had tears in my eyes at some of the numbers I think because of the acoustic, from the heart renditions. David, you NEVER fail to amaze us and leave us in awe…
That’s ok Mike. Thanks to ThinkofMeArchie, we have videos of that night — see above
The set is almost complete, I think we are just missing MKOP -- which is probably uploading as I type this
Glad you had a blast!
My goodness, he indeed was in FIIIIINNNNE voice in San Diego. Am speechless…
THE NEXT SINGLE
sigh…sigh…sigh…
Mike -- so the Archugaze put you in an Archudaze? LOL Just glad you had such a good time. That TOSOD is the best I’ve ever seen. Amazing. You are right -- the Voice was in prime condition last night.
Breathless after hearing that long, sweet note in TFN. He is just …. just ….. amazing.
TFN is one of my fave in the album. It was the one which made me cry. The arrangement was exquisite. The voice was pure magic.
My next wish will probably be to see David sing Christmas songs. Someday…
I don’t think this has been posted

Bringing over a post from Soul David…(HG asked for more details so…)
HG, you asked for more details so here goes…especially after a good night’s sleep because last night I wasn’t sure where I was after that spectacular evening. As I think about it now, the most significant thing that I realized was that there was no screaming during most of the songs! The audience sat through the whole show when I thought everyone would be on their feet for the duration. I think it was the acoustic nature that did that. We have often talked about full on acoustic shows for David and I know he has done several. All I can say is if we had to be resigned to only acoustic David then I would take that life sentence with open arms! Maybe it was from not having seen him live for a while that did me in but I found myself getting emotional during Crush, My Kind of Perfect and The First Noel. No screaming just David in his vocal purity that made me realize that yes, all this insanity for one performer was, well…worth it! As to the venue, Anthology is usually a very hip, upscale supper club with table seating on the floor and booths on the side plus a wonderful, although pricey menu. They took out the tables, did in line seating to accommodate more and had box lunches for the price of a good cocktail. A bit of a change for me since I have been to Anthology several times (Natalie Cole, Manhattan Transfer, Kris Allen (yes, Kris Allen) but it was ok because there were only 400 people there. The rest of the show was a complete knockout too. Orianthi was cool, Ryan Star…omg this man has talent and owned his show. Check him out. Sara was brilliant and closed with Gravity. Talk about a musical orgasm…(from sing off…not my line (darn!) I guess those are all of the details I can come up with for now…
Mikesd, thanks for posting! Listening to the videos, the one thing I also loved was, no screaming. That’s a concert or performance to die for. No screams competing with or drowning out that beautiful voice. It’s not bad before and after a song, but during, geez, please!

David Archuleta talks to Salt Lake Tribune about MoTab concerts (Published on Dec 15, 2010)
Singer-songwriter, “American Idol” finalist and Murray native David Archuleta will join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for their annual Christmas concerts, titled “Christmas With the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.”
In an interview, Archuleta (who turns 20 on Dec. 28) said he began rehearsing with the Choir Tuesday, and admitted being star-struck. As a child he grew up listening to “Music and the Spoken Word” broadcasts, and day-dreaming about how “cool [it would] be to be in the Choir, especially for the Christmas shows,” he said.
When Archuleta was approached earlier this year, he was surprised, and said, “There was a little bit of time when I freaked out.” And then when he rehearsed with them for the first time, he said he told himself, “Wow.” He continued: “You feel so small. It was humbling.” Archuleta’s biggest challenge, he said, is to “complement all those other voices and instruments,” and to avoid being “self-indulgent.”
He considers this to be one of the highlights of a signing career that has only just begun. After tonight’s performance, he will be the downtown Deseret Book (45 W. South Temple) from about 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. signing copies of his latest album, “The Other Side of Down.”
When • Friday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.
Where • Conference Center, 60 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City
Tickets • Free, but patrons are required to have a ticket given out during a random selection process earlier in the year. Standby tickets for those without tickets will not be issued. However, patrons are invited to stand by for last-minute seating each evening and on Sunday morning. The standby line will form at the North Gate on Temple Square at 6 p.m. for the evening performances and at 7:30 a.m. for the Sunday broadcast.

RT @ITTO88 “His voice is so pure. I mean, this is going to be a way better concert than Natalie Cole last year.” < —direct quote.

RT @ITTO88 Of course, at this point I was trying so hard 2 control the squeeing that I was doing on the inside when she said all this to me.

RT @ITTO88 Must also add that she commented on how adorable he was when he got all embarrassed when the Choir members applauded him.

DAVID is the hottest ticket in town!
And the accompanying article of the video can be found here: http://www.abc4.com/content/news/slc/story/Mormon-Tabernacle-Choir-concert-a-hot-ticket/yijqhXz9yEu8zLvdL1fmmQ.cspx
Word on the street: David hit a glory note at the MoTab concert and got a Standing Ovation.
Yes, Marlie, It was pretty much instantaneous. David was singing at the very end and goes in for the big finish (along with the orchestra and choir) and everyone popped out of their seats. (including me) And the standing O lasted for a very looong time.
Michael York was on the stage at the time also, and both David & he took a bow, then Michael clapped David on the back and gestured to the audience like saying this is all for you.
Though Michael was fantastic too.
