SINGAPORE -- Former American Idol runner-up David Archuleta will perform at Singapore’s Hard Rock Hotel at Resorts World Sentosa next month.
The boyish singer, who shot to fame in 2008 with his performance of John Lennon’s Imagine on the US talent show, will take the hotel’s “The Coliseum” stage on Nov 19.
Archuleta is well known for his hit single Crush, which was released shortly after his American Idol appearance and has since sold almost two million copies.
His latest album, 2010′s The Other Side of Down, showcased his songwriting skills, with him co-writing more than half the tracks.

Time to ‘fess up:
This is the 1st time that I got to appreciate DSH. Wasn’t particularly fond of it but this rendition! GAH! The soul, the gggrrawl, darker-sounding feel that David infused into the melody made it work for me. The song gained depth in terms of sound or some grounding… I dunno if am making sense.
All I know is that (1) he was in Disney and (2) among some of the most miracle-affecting groups of people — so that environ could have inspired him to be more magical than his usual magical-self, if that is even possible
David sounded SOOOO good. Looked scrumptious, too! L.E.T.H.A.L.
LOM -- gotta agree Marlie. THE RANGE!!!! Always loved his lower registers s any chance I can hear that is simply heaven. His chest tones are to die for! And his high tones just soared. There were some points where I got distracted by the piano or the background vocals. Better instrumentation, perhaps? The piano just didn’t lend the gospel-feel of the song.
But make no mistake about it: David’s voice just RAWKED! He sang from the heart so he simply blew me away!
No wonder he got 2 standing o’s. Much deserved.

Irving Azoff and Rochelle Azoff have listed for sale a five-bedroom, five-bath home at 22070 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu for $13.75 million.
The Azoffs paid $8,309,500 for the property in May 2004. The 3,552-square-foot house was built in 1952 in Las Flores. It is located in the Rancho Topanga subdivision. Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland is the listing agent for the home.
Mr. Azoff is an American talent manager who represents recording artists including Christina Aguilera, Journey, The Eagles and David Archuleta. He served as chairman and chief executive officer at Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. He is also an executive chairman at Live Nation Entertainment Inc.

So, here’s another one of my crude sketchbook sketches. Ben’s going to Hong Kong this weekend to perform with David, and since they’re doing an acoustic set, there was no need to rent out a space to rehearse. Instead they just had their rehearsal in our living room, which was awesome because I got in some sketch time AND I got a private concert. Pretty good consolation prize for not being able to go to the show! Not only that, it brought back a flood of childhood memories from when my parents used to do small, intimate concerts in our house and invite a bunch of our friends over. Felt just like home! It was a real treat.

Archuleta began singing at the age of six. His talent helped him secure performances at the Utah Talent Competition, The Jenny Jones Show, and Star Search, where he was crowned Junior Vocal Champion in 2003. He then shot to instant fame in 2007 when he made it on American Idol 7. As the season’s youngest contestant at the age of 16, his tenor vocals and boyish charm earned him runner-up with over 97 million votes.
Now growing into his own, Archuleta has taken a more prominent role in songwriting onThe Other Side of Down. Been busy the whole day. A long weekend for Manila. Today, my family spent the big part of the day preparing for a visit to my Dad’s resting place. All Soul’s Day is a big tradition in the Philippines. And despite the 4-day weekend that we are enjoying now, traffic was still horrendous going to the cemetery.
Night time was spent with a group of Archies watching Jason Mraz concert at Araneta Coliseum -- JM’s very 1st big venue concert here in Manila. It was FFFFFANTASTIC!
Goodness, the man is not human when it comes to his guitar playing! His stage presence, his confidence, his audience connection — incredible! His vocal versatility is stunning. He got the whole coliseum in the palm of his hands.
