As American Idol gears up for the broadcast premiere of its 13th Season, a list has been published showing AI’s All Time High Success Stories. Our David – a non-title holder and on a Hollywood sabbatical for the past 2 years – is on the list!

On January 11, Culture Vulture Express reports:

Kelly Clarkson Tops FOX American Idol List of All-Time!

‘American Idol’ is due to return to screens in America for its 13th season on the 15th of January and Fox has decided to release the long-running shows biggest 13 success stories. Kelly Clarkson, the show’s first winner, topped the list and was joined in the top 5 by three other female performers Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks and the sole male in the top five is Adam Lambert taking the mantle as most successful ever male contestant in the history of the show. The winner of Lambert’s year Kris Allen also features on the list at number 12.

Here is the entire list:

1.Kelly Clarkson (Season 1)
2. Carrie Underwood (Season 4)
3. Jennifer Hudson (Season 3)
4. Adam Lambert (Season 8)
5. Jordin Sparks (Season 6)
6. Scotty McCreery (Season 10)
7. Chris Daughtry (Season 4)
8. David Cook (Season 7)
9. Phillip Phillips (Season 11)
10. Kellie Pickler (Season 5)
11. David Archuleta (Season 7)
12. Kris Allen (Season 8)
13. Elliott Yamin (Season 5)

Any Archie worth his salt knows that as far as David is concerned, he looks at success in a different light.

In some quarters, the decision to leave for his 2-year mission was a foregone conclusion. Given how fickle and unstable the entertainment business is, to actually do it still took some serious cajones! I mean who does that?! That is success story #1, right there.

But to leave and comeback with a fanbase that not only waited but actually kept the home fires burning? Yeah, the base may have shrunked, as expected, but a spirited mighty base remains. Worldwide. And that ensures that David Archuleta won’t start from scratch. Success story #2, folks!

I do not know much, especially about the future. But with less than three months to go till David’s much anticipated return, it could only get interesting from here on…

I could just hear David paraphrasing Mr. Dicky Fox, that wise old man from Jerry Maguire movie (1996):

Hey, I don’t have all the answers. In life, to be honest, I failed as much as I have succeeded. But I love my family & brethrens. I love my friends. And I love my fans. I love my life. And I wish you my kind of success.
