Andrew from FOD/IFC does some very cool work (he’s the one that did all of those wonderful idol face icons). Here’s his newest, which strikes me as very ’80s-retro and very cool. Click the image for a large non-cropped version, and check out Andrew’s art page here. Snow Watch Well folks, the Archuletor does not disappoint. Here it is barely five days into the new year and we already have a nominee for 2009’s “Best Video Moment, Non-Performance.” You can see the entire interview here, but I extracted a moment that completely broke me up (and if you had any idea of the financial news we got at my agency today, you’d […]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C87C0E0Euz8″>It’s It might be impossible to say too much about this song, or else maybe words are entirely insufficient. David’s work is best appreciated, in my opinion, with as few accompanying flourishes as possible. David thrives in simplicity because his voice encompasses the universe. All the extras only get in the way. Without taking anything away from the successes on the rest of the release, I have to confess that this is the only cut that has been as fresh and as moving to me on the 200th play as it was on the first. It is a truly beautiful piece. By way of acknowledgment to the amazing Amy and her must-read […]
I know from seeing some recent photos of Silverfox that David’s fans are gorgeous; now comes another example of how talented we are. This find reminds me a little of the “Moonstruck” poster — very cinematic. Not sure who “Steven” is, but thanks for the awesome work.
Nathalene is one of our most creative Archies (she and her husband have a design company in California) and was inspired to include David in her contributions to the Imagine Peace Project. So that David could be aware of what had been done in his name, Nathalene put together an absolutely beautiful book commemorating the “wishes” added to one of the project’s initiatives, Wish Trees for Pasadena. But Nathalene opened her heart even more. Instead of giving the book to David on her own behalf–even though everything comprised her ideas, thoughts, and activities–she invited several of David’s most devoted Internet fan communities to take part in the dedication to David. David […]
I’m loving this Warholization, created by Bianca for the auction currently underway at TeamArchie to benefit the album gifting campaign. Being of a certain age, this portrait style always brings to my mind a certain iconographic stardom that Warhol both used and perpetuated, and it’s awfully fun to see David portrayed in that fashion. And I dare say Andy would have been an Archie. These are very nicely done; this style it’s not as easy as it might look. The image has been printed on a tote bag for the purposes of the auction, the closing for which (for this item, there are others) is tonight at midnight.
