Imagine Imaginary Images
I’ve always been so enamored of R4D’s magnificent, totally over-the-top collages centered around David’s photographs, and there seems to be no end to the creativity. Here are just a couple of examples.
See all the wonderful work here.
I Can Dream Can’t I?
Okay, so, I don’t mean to start a topic about what we’d all like to hear David sing (but don’t let me stop you), only this song came into my head like a storm today with David’s name written all over it.
Knocks_Me_off_My_Feet.mp3
I mean, come on, right?!
On the Playlist
I finally ran into Cody (a.k.a. Lucid, a.k.a. SonicEther) the other night online, and was delighted to learn that he got to meet David at long last. Cody, for those of you who don’t know, is a brilliant young musician, one of the original Love Nuggets, who has a heart-rending back-story that culminates in David’s music having contributed to his new lease on life. He is profiled in the “Hero” book put together by Linha and presented to David at his homecoming. Cody has gone on-tour with Eric and the crazy crew from Fanblast, and appears to indeed be having himself a blast.
Cody reports that when he met David, he reminded him about the dance remix we had produced from his AI studio recording of Think of Me (which we knew that David knew about through Dean Kaelin).
“He looked at me kind of blankly for a few moments, trying to figure out what I was talking about,” said Cody, “and then suddenly his eyes brightened like fireworks and he said, ‘Oh, my gosh! You did that? How did you do that? I downloaded it and I have it on my iPod!’ ”
Needless to say, Cody was stoked. Okay, so am I.
Play and download the remix here.
I downloaded it and have it on my iPod as well!
Congratulations Cody! It seems you have a fan in the person your celebrating!
RD4’s artwork is phenomenal! So professional!
Oops.. R4D!
Ha ha, good catch, jayemdaet, thanks! Corrected.
I downloaded it, too! Honestly, it grew on me after a couple listens and I love it.
I really like this remix….it’s different!
Rascal, you really are going to need that BAR, when David ‘Knocks you off your feet’. ha ha
I immediately loved this remix when Rascal first shared it with us on his site. I have since shared it with a lot of people from Asia. I told Cody about it once in a chat. He said, “Really, what did they think?”. I told him they said they thought is was really different and loved it. I had people contacting me asking me about Cody when they had heard it from someone I had shared it with. I just sent them to SonicEther’s website with that remix on it. He is extremely talented, no doubt. I genuinely like the guy too. Him and David seem to have quite a few common characteristics.
That remix rocks! And I believe someone said they heard it at a dance club in Manhattan! 🙂
If I heard this in the club, I would certainly get up and dance. Such talented young men, both of them. I love Cody’s creativity. This song could really be a hit for them. It’s appropriate that it’s on David’s ipod.
Oh, I meant to add, Stevie is so in David’s wheelhouse. Regardless of the losing the lyric episode. The studio version is one of my favorites. I was siting in a park this afternoon watching my kids play, listening to David ‘working it out’. It was one of those wonderful moments that music brings to my life.
Stevie is also the master message man, he is an excellent example of how musci can move mountains and change lives. His penning a simple song in honor of Dr. King helped spearhead the movement for a national holiday for the civil rights icon. We are all wondering what messages will David have in his music. I certainly will be listening.
What? Grandmaster rascal knows about the hero book and me? say what? OMG! And the graphic by R4D with the phrase on the cover of the hero book and David as super D. Okay, rascal, I’m officially wearing the training bra and have just turned into a fangirl. You can have the booze. And Cody must be ecstatic as heck. I’m so happy for him. Ahh..
R4D is awesome, I do believe the superDavid is the best work he’s done to date. Meanwhile, I’ve had Cody’s remix on my ipod for awhile, but it really rocks listening to it in my car with the BASS ROCKING out. I ♥ it!
Cody, even though I dont know you, I’m feeling proud of you (so weird…) -- of your talents (I’ve heard about them), your work (love TOM!) and your meeting with David (yeah, I’m so glad that David downloaded it to his iPod, remembering he doesnt usually like listening to his own voice, so you should be honoured!!)
Rabid, like I said before, you are an awesome artist! Sorry again, I didnt think you are a male 🙂
At present, I really really really want David to sing these 3 songs:
*Crazy (going crazy wondering and wondering what they heard during Hollywood week!)
*I’ll be (that younger David video just gets to me)
*A Thousand Miles (complete with piano playing)
Wow. I would like to hear him sing Crazy. Everybody was raving about it but have never heard David sing it. David can sing anything but I would love to hear him sing Stop And Stare by One Republic. I know, he’s already sung Apologize. Stop and Stare would suit David’s voice so perfectly.
I love the art work with the guitar strapped over David’s shoulder! I’ve been running to the sonic remix for weeks now, I used to run exclusively to Meat Loafs Bat Out Of Hell album but I added Cody’s sonic remix, sometimes I get an extra mile out of it!
I have always thought Elton John and David are just made for each other. How about Your Song? I had imagined him singing that at the Finale, but was quite happy w/DLTSGDOM!
elenbo, you’ve read my mind! How about David’s vocals on Nikita, he would make it sound amazing.
I love Rabid’s wallpapers! I hadn’t seen that Superman one yet, it’s great! I had heard that Cody told David about the re-mix but I didn’t know David had it on his iPod, that’s awesome!
hello gorgeous -- yes someone (Indomass) DID in fact hear this at a club in NYC about a month ago!
Love the Stevie Wonder song. I can really hear David singing that.
I have a hymn I would like him to sing… it’s called “Where Can I Turn for Peace?” I’m not computer saavy enough to provide a link, but there are a few artists who do it on Youtube -- none particularly excellently. It was written by a woman whose daughter was struggling with bulemia. (SP?) It has great David potential.
Off topic -- ALERT! -- sorry, but I just heard on Fox News that they will have David on live on Monday morning on their Good Day Utah program. You can stream it live through myfoxutah.com Last time was excellent -- at his homecoming. I’m guessing he will be there either during the 7-8 hour or the 8-9 hour. What was he saying last time -- “It’s 6:15 in the morning and I’m stoked!” Well, I will start watching at 7 to make sure I don’t miss it.
Streaming isn’t working for me tonight, but might be this computer. Give it a try.
Thanks for the heads up, daisychain!
Marc- Nikita would be incredible! I know Elton John is mor our generation, (assuming you are my age, which I shouldn’t!), but he and David have the same vibe. I was at the gym the other day, and they played Elton and Bernie Taupin singing DLTSGDOM live. I was not impressed. David just sang the pants off of it, and it’s hard to believe, but Elton just didn’t compare! The element of raw emotion and power just did not come through. And he’s just 17. It continues to boggle me!
I realized recently, that I started this ODD in Jan. 2008. It is now July, and it hasn’t gone away. It has magnified immensely! Seven months later, and I still cannot get enough David. I’m SURE that I am not the only one….This is really, really something! I’m just starting to grasp the magnitude of it, now w/the live shows, his first cd on the way-WOW. This is only the beginning! Look how David’s music has already started a community. And people within it are connecting through him. Some are doing community work, just supporting each other on a human level, others have seen a spiritual rebirth occurring…it goes on and on. Is it just me, or is this something rare and beautiful we are witnessing? He hasn’t even had a chance to write and record the things he wants to say, yet! Just what are we in for when we get to really hear him?
What a trip!
I’d like to hear him sing some Les Miserables…. I think some would be just fun and then seriously, I would love to hear him sing “Bring Him Home,” even though he’s the age of the son and it’s sung from Jean Val Jean’s point of view. I can picture him singing that one.
Rascal, that’s such a beautiful Stevie Wonder song. I had to close my eyes to really savor it. Most definitely I can imagine hearing it in David’s voice that is so uniquely his. And like some of the posters here, I too would so love to hear him sing Crazy on the keyboard the way he did at audition. Dang it!
Well, you said you wouldn’t stop us. That’s all I needed. David’s uncle told a fan after the San Jose concert that David had a ‘soulful vibe’, and he actually excelled at the R&B genre, so with that in mind…..
Take A Message (from my love) by Remy Shand -- seems so appropriate
rel="nofollow ugc">
Someday by John Legend
rel="nofollow ugc">
and I saved the best for last…
I’m Your Angel -- Celine Dion duet with R Kelly
rel="nofollow ugc">
Vermeer -- and of course always the ‘Crazy’ by Gnarls Barkley -- that will go down as the legendary ‘one that got away’, I second your ‘Dang It’
musicao -- 2 PMs
I love the artwork. Can we have that on a Tshirt?
And, Gosh! the Stevie Wonder song. I’m on cloud 9 while David singing.
Please don’t wake me up. ‘-)
Welcome back Rascal! And I’m glad you finally decided to watch the show. Hope you have fun, and I’m very much looking forward to your tour report.
That’s a really good Stevie Wonder song for David. I’m just imagining him playing the piano with this one, without any other instrumental accompaniment. I bet it would be fantastic.
The R4D graphics are gorgeous.
The remix is fantastic and I’m thrilled that Lucid was able to identify himself to David, and get David’s great reaction!!!
And I LOOOOOVVE that song for David, Rascal. The lyrics sort of express how I feel about David. And the music?… well, the song would be perfect in every way. Gosh, I hope that the people at Jive love and understand David’s music sense as much as some of his fans, do. (And from thel accounts I’ve heard, it seems they do.)
I guess 6:32am was too early for me. Lots of typos. Hopefully any readers read in context. Geez. (…some of his fans (no comma) do … the (no “L”) accounts … And, um, yes, I spelled LOOOOOVVE correctly. If I could’ve added hearts and excited smileys in my post I would’ve. Because I’m fangirly like that about David’s songs and Rascal’s idea of a song.)
Unfortunately I do not have an iPod (can’t afford one) so I have to be content w/ what I can find on this site & YouTube (not my favorite site anymore for David A. but I’m stuck). I just love listening to new stuff (new to me, at least). As for “Crazy,” all of us David-lovers are dying to hear him sing it but I’m beginning to wonder if it will ever happen. Both he & Jason sang it during Hollywood week (if I remember correctly) but Idol supposedly couldn’t get the clearance to show it. I know David wanted to sing it during the Finale but his request was rejected so he sang “Imagine” again. He was hoping to sing it on tour but was not allowed YET JASON WAS GIVEN PERMISSION. What is going on here? Why is David’s performance of “Crazy” being held back?? It’s like TPTB don’t want us to see (or hear) it--WHY??? Any ideas? This is such a great website, I love reading everyone’s wonderful comments, I feel like I know all the posters already. This is the first place I go in the morning & the last place I go at night. My ODD has been out of control for the last few months, I’m not getting anything done, my house is falling to pieces, I spend too much time on the coumpter looking up everything having to do with David, watching videos & making comments. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!! But it sure is fun. . . . And I suppose there are worse things we could all be doing. I think there is a need out there for ODDs Anonymous--how many members do you think we could get???
I’m going to go WAY out on a limb here.. you know who I’d love to see have a little influence on David?? Marc Anthony! I recently heard a song of his on the radio — I have NO clue which song it was, unfortunately, but I kept thinking, “Wow.. David would do an awesome version of that song.”
I think David should put out a few hispanic-influenced songs! My favorite Marc Anthony song is “Need To Know” ( rel="nofollow ugc">) --
This song came out while I was living in Central America, so it brings back LOTS of memories. 🙂 I fell in love with Salsa and hispanic music while there. I recall hearing that David does have a song sung in Spanish — doesn’t anyone know anything about it?
Am I totally alone in my interest in hearing David putting out a few spicy Spanish tunes? 🙂
Oops! I meant to write “DOES anyone know anything about it” (not “doesn’t anyone know)… that came out kind of snotty.. LOL. 🙂
Sorry!
Yes, BigSky the song is Contigo En La Distancia, here is the link:
rel="nofollow ugc">
you can watch an artist sketch David during the song…
Quite a few people have expressed an interest in David doing songs in Spanish. It would make a lot of sense, given his increasing popularity throughout the world, since it is the most-spoken language (with all of it’s dialects)
musicao, you have in the past mentioned several songs you would like David to cover in spansih, but I don’t remember which ones. (sorry my ODD does get the best of me)
lulu -- David talked about his process of choosing songs for the tour in an interview. (it is 8-9 minutes long and a very good interview, it was discussed a little bit here a couple of threads back, and I believe there was a link to it). He said
1) A song or two that he included that he did do on AI -- we know those are Angels and SBM
2) One song he didn’t do -- that is WYSYLM
3) One he wanted to balance with the emotional songs -- this is Apologize, but sometimes it is hard to hear everything he says. I thought he might have meant there was one song he wanted to balance the emotional songs with. Was he talking about Crazy here? But the process might have gone something like this: It is an AI production. Their purpose is to allow each of the Idols to showcase their versatility and quality. Crazy was probably one of Jason’s better performances, while David had quite a few to choose from. Many people cried out how much they loved David doing ‘Apologize’ and how diffferent it was from the other songs he did on the show. Jason has an untrained voice and showed on AI, that at this point he has some difficulty learning new songs quickly and performing them well. David is a stellar student with a highly trained technique (MCL) and incredible work ethic. It most likely was not a difficult decision for TPTB and David as well, given his enormously generous nature. But, I am not giving up on ‘Crazy’. We won’t see it on his debut CD, but any CDs after that, well you just never know……..
Ooop! I didn’t clarify that David’s use of the word ’emotional’, many times means ‘message’ songs. That is why I concluded that the un-emotional song to balance the set was ‘Apologize’, being that Angels and SBM are both message songs for him.
Elenbo, you asked “Is it just me, or is this something rare and beautiful we are witnessing?”
It’s not just you. If you would have told me that this guy from Brooklyn would be taken in by a 17-year-old kid from Murray Utah I would have told you were insane. But the Lord works in mysterious ways doesn’t he? David’s God given talent and his beautiful character have renewed my faith in humanity. That someone can go for their dream and be focused but still be kind, thankful and humble is a lesson that I must have forgotten along the way. I thank David Archuleta for reminding me. David inspires people in so many different ways, as you said from volunteering to simply being a better, nicer person.
I am not nearly as eloquent as many here but I know how I feel and that it’s real. What a pleasure it is to see a wonderful kid like David realize his dream, that I am allowed along for the ride is a privilege to me.
I would love to hear David sing three songs performed and/or written by Amy Grant:
--If These Walls Could Speak (from her Lead Me On album)
--Say Once More (from Lead Me On)
--Breath of Heaven (from her early 1990s Christmas album)
I think it would be phenomenal if David could tour in Spanish speaking regions. Can you imagine how the crowd would just go crazy if he addressed them between songs in Spanish? He seems very shy/unsure about speaking it, but I could see him doing such concerts while promoting an album in the future.
holy death star! holy kryptonite! holy batsignal! the remix is awesome to the maximus! whoooooooooooo! a perfect track to end the debut album of david james! let us hope that the album sounds young, refreshing and inspiring, just like our self confessed airhead. man, the kid is gonna be sooooooooo huge!!
Debra,
I posted a note to you in the previous “Rascal caved” thread. I’m a 49-yo midwesterner who is attending with her family in Kansas City, Missouri. I’ve ‘caved’ and decided to go alone to the Tulsa show. (So I can be MORE fangirly.) If you are planning on joining in on the before or after-show hoopla, I’m looking for buddies. Let me know and we can exchange info., if you like.
Kait from northeastern Kansas.
#28 Big sky,
I few years ago I listened to Marc Anthony in concert and he is a wonderful singer. He sings a song about Puerto Rico called “Preciosa” that makes you want to cry, laugh and dance at the same time. Its Amazing! I would love to listen Archie singing in Spanish too. I heard “Contigo en la Distancia” and he sounded beautiful. Latinos love great ballads and emotional singers, that’s why I think Archie will do amazing if he puts out an album for the Latin Market. Cristina Aguilera did amazing with her Spanish album a few years ago. Because her songs were very difficult its common to listen to girls auditioning to shows like AI in Latin America with her songs. If Archie puts a great Spanish ballad album showcasing his amazing voice, tone and interpretation, Latinos will love it!!!
I will love to listen to Archie sing this songs: (Sorry for the long list, but I have though about this for the last 5 months LOL!!!)
“Crazy”- Gnarls Barley (I want to hear Archies version so bad. I bet its wonderful)
“One”- U2 (Archie mentioned he wanted to sing this song on AI and I was very intrigue and amazed by his choice)
Everything I do -- Brian Adams (After falling madly in love with Archie’s version of “Heaven” I think he will make an amazing and less cheesy version of this song)
“Ain’t no Sunshine” (I know Archie sang this song during Star Search, but I want to hear it again with his deeper and pure voice)
“Feeling Good”- Michael Bubblé version (I love this song and Archie can make it more soulful”
“Sinnerman”-Nina Simone (I know its a wicked idea!!! but i love this song and Archie can let out the soul man from utah LOL!!!)
“The Scientist”- Coldplay (I think this song it’s amazing and in Archie’s voice it will be breathtaking)
“Hey Jude”-The Beatles (I think Archie can do an startling rendition of this song with his soulful voice)
“Your Song”- Elton John (After listening to David’s rendition of DLTSGDOM and know he can make this song more amazing that it already is)
“Wonderful World”- Sam Cooke (At Fanblast Richard mentioned that he loves Archie singing this son, and I got exited about the idea of Archie singing it.)
“Vive ya” and “Vivo por ella”- Andrea Bocelli (After accepting the challenge of singing a Josh Groban song and doing spectacular with it, I’ll love to see Archie taking on Andrea Bocelli in these intricate and beautiful songs)
The latin songs I will die to listen in Archie’s voice are:
“La fuerza del Corazón” and “Amiga mia”- Alejandro Sanz
“Me cuesta tanto olvidarte” – Mecano
“Si tu no estas aqui”- Rosana
“Volverás”- Rickey Martin
“Dígale”- David Bisbal
“Te vi venir” and “Que Lloro”- Sin bandera
“Lucia”- Joan Manuel Serrat
“Adoro” – Armando Manzanero (David Bisbal version)
“El triste” , “Almohada”- José José
Again sorry for the long post!!! LOL!!!
I did not know that Archie wanted to sing “One” by U2. I have always wanted to hear him sing that song and even recently played the music video, imagining Archie’s voice.
Where, oh where is musicao?? The conjurer of David covers??
U2’s One -- musicao says it is ‘inevitable’ that David will cover this song. Inevitable. And I agree. Although, I, along with musicao, long for an entire album of U2 covers by David, so that is not putting this into a sane perspective, but who said we were sane? We have OWADD/ODD after all? okay, where is that guy anyway? The phone has been thrown.
This is off the topic but really wanted to share in case you haven’t seen it yet. Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comic strip was at the Sacramento concert and said something regarding David.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080711.wgtfriday0711/BNStory/Technology/home
Regarding David’s song choice for the tour, I was hoping to hear WTSGDOM and even In This Moment because he put so much of himself into those songs in the Finale show. But after hearing (or reading) him say certain songs, he didn’t want to repeat (or something to that effect) because he wanted to preserve the special moment (I am completely paraphrasing so if I misunderstood him, sorry! I can’t find the article in a hurry right now), I thought how smart and wise he is and I’m glad to see he is to be trusted in his decisions regarding music, and life, really.
Cody -- I guess that is the ultimate compliment!
R4D -- Please tell me you do this in some professional capacity! If you don’t, you should!
Rascal -- Excellent choice!
All those that mentioned ONE -- I listened to ONE by Mary J. Blige and U2 for weeks, thinking, wishing and hoping David would sing that on the show!! I still listen to it imagining his voice!
For a while I was imagining him singing everything on my ipod, from Pearl Jam to Andrea Bocelli and I think he really could sing them all!!!
#49 vermeer -- thanks for the link -- made me laugh out loud!! 🙂 No wonder David is freaked out be the girls going all loopy!
David could put the Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy on his album as a bonus track or something, right? PLEASE!!!! But I’ll be happy with whatever!!!
Someone on fanblast coined the term “Archuloopy.” I quite like that. I think it fits me… 🙂
Archuloopy, eh? Yeah, me too!!! 🙂
Ouch! Just got hit with a cell phone -- Dang that Tinuviel! Thanks for the ring in!
Really want to get in on this but I am so tied up dang it! And for me it’s practically a necessity. There’s a little piece of my brain that’s a storage facility, when I pull up the file the header reads; “David covers and the scenarios in which they play out”
Great suggestions here from all. And regarding “One” David must record both his solo version as well as the duet, with any number of great female singers. (please and thanks David, just in case)
Tinuviel, it was def Eddy Grant on “Baby Come Back” . That is such a summertime/ fun-time song and I can hear David raving it up.
OK one more -I’ve had this idea about David doing a chill, trip-hoppy number. Softly rhyming, almost rapping about a social issue that he cares about, not preachy, just profoundly moving. He sings the chorus and freestyle semi-scats (Stevie style) at times. Into the last verse he begins to sing the poignant words in those familiar tones, taking us to the sky, breaking our hearts and shredding us to pieces.
That’s what I’m thinkin’ about…
PS T, I got your message and responded.
PPS Janey from previous post “musicao, why won’t you let David sing for you?” That is incredibly manipulative! You are not my mother!! Hahaha
Rascal, great choice, love the idea of David sing Stevie. (And he has your & Cody’s remix on his iPod? How cool is that?)
I loved “Shop Around” so much (thought it showcased a powerful rhythmic side of David’s musicality that just made you want to leap out of your chair and move), that when Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame week came up, I was hoping for more Smokey Robinson (Tracks of My Tears or I’ve Been Good to You), but I got over it when I heard SBM, of course. He could do a mean Wayfaring Stranger (à la Eva Cassidy), too, but I digress.
R4D’s artwork is stunning — looks CD-cover-ready to me!
First off it’s great to have you back Rascal. I cannot say how glad I am that you decided to re-open your site here. Also this is off topic hope no one minds.
Next I’ve noticed a few of you have been able to chat at the fanblast jtv site I’ve spent 3 days now trying to figure out how to become a friend to chat that and have yet to figure it out. Just getting somewhat discouraged over the whole thing so if Tinuviel or Elannbo or someone else who I knows how to go about it could email me I would very much apreciate it. Thanks.
ajameseck@yahoo.com
I’m always thinking of songs David would sound great covering. Then again that’s not difficult considering he would sound great singing anything. Being a big Elton John fan and having all of his albums it hit me, a song that David would really sound amazing on. The song is one of the first Elton John and Berine Taupin wrote together, it’s called Skyline Pigeon from EJ’s Empty Sky album recorded in England in 1969 but not released in the US until 1975.
The lyrics are beautiful and I wanted to see the history of the song so I went to Wikipedia and was surprised to read that the original recording did not include piano played by Elton John but a harpsichord. This was because the song was written in the same style as a hymn. Elton John always had the philosophy If in doubt, write a hymn! No wonder I like the song so much for David, what could be better for David than singing a hymn? He could accompany himself of the piano and give it his own soulful vibe. Anyway here are two links, one to a to a partial you tube video of a live performance and the second a link to EJ performing it live in Japan but no video.

Apparently, David is going to sing Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy on a local TV station in SLC on Tuesday…
http:// studio5.ksl.com /?sid=1757557&nid=69
The AI forum is going “crazy” with excitement! And, I’m obviously in full on O.D.D. mode since I picked it up…
Sorry, I can’t figure out how to embed links… but if you take out the spaces, they have it on their website!
yetanotheradultodd, that wil bel so cool, I love that song!!
AHEM!! The superman graphic was commissioned by me!! Thanks again R4D! I picked up the t-shirt today and it is awesome. Will be winging it’s way to you with a David autograph (hopefully) soon.
Also picked up the t-shirt for Rascal 🙂
Rumored, David’s first single “Crush” due for release August, 11.

scroll down to 8/11
So much exciting news for one day. His album is already doing very well on Amazon with so many pre-orders!
Wait, archu_adorable, we can get R4D’s designs to put on a t-shirt??? Please tell me how!!
milvet -- I will send an email detailing the process.
Dang it, musicao! You didn’t have to throw it back!!
vermeer -- what David said is that they wanted him to do ‘certain songs’ that they thought people wanted to hear (Imagine and possibly SSM), but that he didn’t want to do because he didn’t want to lose the moment they had on the show. He just wanted to ‘keep them there’. I suspect, and I am not the only one, that David really doesn’t want to have to sing the first verse of ‘Imagine’ because of the lyrics about ‘religion’. As David has gotten older, maybe he has realized the affect of what he ‘says’. We know that David has said before that the lyrics of a song are important to him. We know that he puts his microphone down and refuses to sing ‘acting naughty’ in the group number on the tour. I have noticed that he points the microphone out to the audience encouraging them to sing the ‘suicidal’ lyrics, maybe indicating he isn’t completely comfortable with those lyrics either, and who can blame him, really. It was interesting to me to see that one of the co-writers of David’s single ‘Crush’ to be released August 12th (YEAH!!!), is Dave Hodges, whose songs are ‘clean’, and well, he left the band Evanescence because he thought his songs were leaning towards Christian rock if that gives you any indication to the type of lyrics he writes. David presents a new kind of pop singer who songwriters like Dave Hodges will have a field day writing for. There hasn’t been really anyone to sing those songs, because there wasn’t a perceived market for them. But, David changes all of that. This should open up a floodgate of creativity for songwriters like Dave Hodges.
Oh my gosh! Rascal you’re back! i got the word from Beebee that you posted my art but was’nt able to get the link from her.
Thank you very much for featuring them**bows humbly**
And yes, it was Archu_adorabale who commissioned the Super David art. 🙂
Thanks to her, this Superman looks more SUPER!
James, it does look better! How’d you do that? Dang it, back to Kinko’s for more shirts! You’re ‘shirt payment’ has to be the best!
Tinuviel, just make a file of the pic, take it to Kinko’s. They will heat press it on a shirt. I’ve done many -- a couple with R4D’s designs, some my own.
Rascal, thanks for showing R4D’s pics. They’re Awesome! Glad to know David likes that remix. Now if we can just get him to listen to huimself. Over 1 million fans go gaga about his voice (including me) and he can’t stand it, C’mon! haha I just had to say that.
#55 Tinuviel, thanks for elaborating on that article. Even though he did sing Imagine in its entirety when he was younger, it makes sense that now that he is older and is more conscious of what feels right or wrong to him, he may no longer feel comfortable singing certain parts of the lyrics, as you and others suspect.
David is a rebel without trying. He knows being true to himself is really all that’s necessary to be unique as we are all unique in our own way. There is so much to look forward to as far as his music career goes and even beyond music, as Rascal suggested the other day.
vermeer, Yes, and what we are ‘looking forward too’ just keeps getting more and more exciting!
Thank you archu_adorable for answering that, although that doesn’t seem all that fair to R4D. Is there some way I should acknowledge his work?
#40-Vermeer —-
ROTFL: “”Still, I have to say it was worth it just to see (sort of) David Archuleta belt out a few tunes that blew the doors off the stadium and sent 8,000 young girls into premature ovulation.” ”
That was SO funny!!!!! Maybe the concert will have the opposite effect on me, and close my ovaries down FINALLY (sorry to the fellows in this group — but at this point, PLEASE, someone take them away from me.. LOL). 🙂
The article brings up a good point — signs obstructing the view of other paying concert goers. I have now decided NOT to bring a sign. I’ve forgotten how it feels to be sitting at a concert or event, and have someone standing in front of me obstructing my view. Makes me feel crothety in a way, BUT.. I wouldn’t obstruct someone else’s view (knowingly, anyway).
I was at a Toby Keith concert recently, and was thankful I was not in the floor section — EVERYONE was standing and NO ONE could see a thing….
Maybe David Fans can make a pact that they will bring their sings, and flash them only momentarily, or be aware of the folks behind them and try to be considerate. In all the ODD that’s going on, I can see how it would be hard to think clearly about that sort of thing. 🙂
Gads — I HATE typos! I meant SIGNS not SINGS… but that Freudian slip comes with the ODD I suppose.
Thanks for posting this!!
The magnificent art work of R4D beguiled my thoughts and came out with, David Archuleta-The Amazing Superstar.

Thanks Rascal. O’-)
Cody is too cool! I was able to meet him in San Jose for the Fanblast stuff. He told me a bit about meeting David and how excited he was. I’m so happy to hear more detailed stuff about it. How wonderful for him. YAY for Cody, you rock.
Rascal, I think this song by Stevie Wonder would suit David very well. I can picture him singing Jazzy songs, accompanied by Piano and Violins…just like his duet with One Republic.
