Capping His 1st Year in Showbiz with a Ball, a Bash & a Jam!
Someone once said that for whatever Jive did or didn’t do, David joining the Jingle Ball Tour was one of its best moves.
It provided an exposure that had reach and range outside his loyal following. It also afforded David the much needed follow-through with major radio stations after the release of his debut album – something that we have learned is key to any artist trying to make it in US mainstream music industry.
Will we ever see David in the same company of performers? Or will he concentrate on his much beloved solo Christmas tour?

Which would serve him best when he returns from his two-year sabbatical from the music business circuit?

Reposting here what I said in the previous thread --
If David had been available, I bet he would have sent a video taped message accepting the award and thanking Ivory, ASAP and the fans for the recognition (like all the other awardees but I edited those out in the clip above) .
And if he was here, a duet would have been arranged between him and Side A band — the group which popularized Forevermore which they performed that afternoon after being conferred the Elite Platinum Circle Award.
THAT would have been something!
Wow, Jr, we must be on the same wavelength…last night I went through all the Jingle videos on youtube, watching David sing his acapella Christmas songs at the end of his performances.
As for when he returns, I’m not sure the Jingle thingy’s would serve him that well now. I’d rather see him at the Grammy’s and touring with some really great performers. I don’t think David is destined to be a Pop star, but a singer/songwriter class of performer.

Just got word from Kricket. Her papa is safe, thank God! But her hometown is in ruins.

Posting a portion of her letter to us:
Kreng runs a family-owned school in Baganga and Davao, I believe both affected by the typhoon. So her family is part of the devastation, yet she they will spearhead the relief drive for their hometown (Baganga).
How to help? We are setting up relief effort for her hometown. Pending confirmation from Kreng, we are looking at sending money to her.
Well, let’s use this site to help. Post an article and a link where we can donate. I’m so saddened for her and her family and the whole community. It’s like parts of New Jersey. So much devastation.

Since the tragic event cause by typhoon Pablo in Philippines is mentioned here, let me share this…
What happened in Mindanao is really heartbreaking. This is the first time that my hometown, ComVal, was hit by a typhoon. Most of the agricultural lands there were destroyed and since last Tuesday there has been no electricity. But I’m so thankful to God that my families in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley (my hometown in the Philippines) were safe. I’m so glad that I and my other colleagues who were sent here in Japan are scheduled to go back in the Philippines next week. I really want to go there, asap. My hubby, who is now in Cebu (one of the Islands in Philippines), will be going there this weekend to assist and support my parents and lend some help to the other victims. I am grateful also to our company because they offer financial assistance to those who are affected by the typhoon in my hometown. As of the moment, more than 300 people died from typhoon Pablo… Hundreds are missing. Please help us pray guys for the fast recovery of our Province, to @kricket’s hometown in Baganga, and especially for the families who have lost their love ones. Thank you.
rubi -- So sorry to hear of all that loss and tragedy. It must be more difficult being away from home and watching it on the news, waiting for word from loved ones. I’m glad that you will be able to go home.
Please keep us posted on how you are and the situation you find when you get home. You and your countryman are in our prayers.

RUBI -- Oh no! Am so sorry also to hear about your area’s troubles. If this is any consolation, gov’t was quick to bring aid to your hometown.
For the interest of others, ComVal, how Compostela Valley is referred in the Phils, is a rich source of fruits for exports. Particularly bananas. So the loss in Mindanao -- current & potential -- is really huge.
Mindanao “feeds” MetroManila. It has been blessed to be a typhoon-free area, except in the last 3-5 years (Yeah, there is no global warming!)
